Good store to go fresh meat
This is one of the popular and tasty restaurant they are Caribbean West Indian Guyanese, Trinidadian, Surena food really very nice. They have chicken goat fish, and so many roti really one of the best restaurant in Jamaica Avenue and the people who were here really very good people, friendly people and the restaurant is very nice very clean and they serve authentic Caribbean West Indian food. It is very suitable for all types of groups. Very safe to bring kids very popular restaurant.
So many clean and delicious options always fresh and ready. Breakfast lunch or dinner !They have the best deserts btw !
Growing up in Queens my parents always used to buy traditional Guyanese breads and pastries from here. We don't live in Queens anymore and are all grown up with our own families but every time one of us comes to visit we stop in for a haul to go back home for everyone. The quality and flavor brings us back to our childhood every time. The staff is so friendly and still family owned it's great to see. Love this place!
Came tonight because I felt like having something that tastes like “home” and I definitely got that here. I ordered stew chicken with fried rice and it was very tasty. The chicken was falling off the bone and seasoned well. The fried rice was cooked well also and complimented the stew. The complimentary steam cabbage was crispy. The woman serving the food was very friendly, even while dealing with a line. I would recommend this place. Gonna go back myself to scope out the roti 😂
SHHH !! GATEKEEP !! Hidden gem 💎 for sure. Tell me why this plate pictured was only $10.. $10!!!! YES!! And it was SOOO juicy and delicious. I only ordered the jerk chicken with cookup rice and the lady asked if I wanted plantains with it.. FOR FREE ?! YES PLEASE. This place is literally like if my grandma’s kitchen was a place. If you’re Guyanese you know what I’m talking about. So many Caribbean places in the city or Brooklyn (I travel there for work and school) are so overpriced for mid food.. THIS PLACE is so cheap for such delicious heartfelt food.
I come here all the time, and its amazing. the food is great, it takes barely any time to get the food, and its reasonably priced. not only that, the bread is so soft and delicious, its like candy. its so addictive and amazing and i genuinely think whoever is looking for good caribbean food should come here.
Fantastic roti, lots of Guyanese goodies, sauces, biscuits , Jamaican patties. Generous portions , very reasonable prices
Food was excellent one of the best pachownie I've had in a while. It would've tasted better with the dahl puri I requested but didnt get 😔 . The vegi fried rice and chowmien was also great. The butter flap was fresh ! Very friendly in there !
Delightful restaurant with tasty food and great selections. The staff is friendly and make you feel like you're eating a home cooked meal by your loving Mom or Auntie. Very affordable, generously proportioned, yummy meals from an A+ establishment! Too busy enjoying the food to take a picture!🤤
I saw this place in TikTok and was looking forward to coming all the way from Canada. The owner was so friendly and the pastries are very affordable. Next time I'll try to get there earlier in the day to try the cooked food. So many Guyanese pastries and baked goods.
A friend of mine recommended I try this place so I decided to. It’s a small place with a variety of West Indian items. The staff is great but the reason for my 4 star review is one of the items I ordered. I got a loaf of bread. They asked if I wanted them to slice it and I declined. I went home and decided to cut into the bread 🥖 only for it to crumble to pieces. The bread was old and stale. This may be a one off situation but I will not be ordering from them again. My purchase was on a Friday night. You would think they would have fresh items for the weekend.
We were in the neighbourhood for the first time ( on holiday from Australia) and only popped in to have a " look-see ". Lots of different Caribbean foods, but I was mostly interested in the Guyanese aspect as I don't usually find Guyanese cuisine in Australia ( unless I cook it!!!). So, it was a joy to gaze upon fried Bangamary, Chinese cake, Cassava pone, Miti, salera cake, tamarind balls, bread pudding, hot foods like yuh Pepperpot, Curries, Cook-up rice,,,the list is endless. And there were bottles of Casareep ,green seasoning, Achar : next time, I must remain inside the shop to actually purchase and eat . Thanks to the ladies for being helpful in explaining and ( graffing) chatting.
The plantains and Roti were very good. The server was friendly. But.... unfortunately the oxtail was pink inside, the curry goat tasted too much like goat. Needs to either be cooked better or cleaned. The chow mein tasted like throw up at first bite.. You can tolerated if u give it time... btw now it's December 10,2023 around 640-7pm food came out to 34$....
I went there expecting to have a Roti that came with a great review video on social media, only to have one of the worst food experiences EVER!!! What I received was a Roti full of Goat fat and bone. Big bones with fat, and to add insult to injury, the fatty bones was very salty. On top of that I ordered a beef patty that was full of gravy paste with no meat in it. I felt like I was having a meatless meal, and I just came from the gym so I needed protein and the social media video said they were known for big portions. If you buy from there, DEFINITELY inspect your order before you leave, and don't buy patties unless you like eating bread and gravy.
As a server at a high-end restaurant in NYC, I have been trained to meet guests' expectations. I have consistently delivered satisfactory service for local and home-style food. However, my visit to Kassim Bakery yesterday was disappointing, and I do not plan to return. The service was subpar, and the food was unsatisfactory. The snacks were overcooked and oily, the red bread was stale, and the bakery staff claimed it was freshly baked. The goat curry was also disappointing, and overall, my experience was unsatisfactory.
Let's start with the customer service it was awful, from the staff to the owner it was just repulsive. I went to buy a cake from when I called they said the cake was $12 when I got there they said it's $20, ok that's fine I still got it while ordering I was asking the young lady to see the types they have and the prices on the different sizes and while showing me she was getting upset the owner then proceeded to start laughing an talking about me with her workers saying that she should buy me a tray of eggs to bake my own cake regardless of the service I got the black cake and the fruit cake. The fruit cake was just so horrendous it was box cake she added a raisins too and the black cake tasted like raw flour and butter. Ma'am I hope you see this review and know that if I could go back and bought my own eggs I'd bake my own cakes. NOT ONLY ARE YOU RUDE BUT SO IS THE YOUNG LADY THAT WORKS THERE THE TIME YOU TAKE TO GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS SARCASM YOU SHOULD CLEAN THAT PLACE A LITTLE BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS A GOOD SCRUBBING AN SO DO YOU!
