El Jarocho Jamestown Reviews
Very good place to eat , friendly , good food quality, tacos amazing. 5 star place
Great authenic Mexican food. Beef Asada tacos and refried beans were great. Their salsa served with chips was very good. This is a small restaurant with an extensive menu! Service was quick. Seating is mainly at small booths. No Margarita's, wine nor mixed drinks here. Highly recommended!
Authentic Mexican food! Just too many choices on the menu with very small print. Very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
Ate here last night (Friday) and it was quiet and empty. Service was good. Food came fast and hot. My boyfriend grew up in New Mexico and has a love for Mexican food; he said it was great! They have American food too; I got chicken fingers and fries.
One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. I was there on business for two weeks, I ate there 8 of the 10 days. Tried something new every day and it was always delicious and fresh. The house salsa is great too, couldn’t get enough. The service was constant. There was a woman who stood by the counter the whole time and was very attentive to the table. She would come refill drinks and check on us without asking. Wish I had a place like this closer to home.
Good food, friendly efficient service. Always enjoy going there!
I was quite pleasantly surprised by their menu. There are so many things on there the font had to be smaller. I’m not complaining, lots of choices I was impressed. The food is authentic Mexican. If you’re looking for super spicy that would be new Mexican. They did have a chili habanero sauce at the table if you wanted to add more spice and it was fresh. While placing my order for the nacho supreme I noticed it had guacamole and I expressed that I was very happy about that to the waitress. When my food came out it didn’t have any guacamole and I asked the waitress. She told me they didn’t have any guacamole. I wish I was told that when I was expressing joy up upon placing my order. Serving sizes were reasonable. My husband ordered the chimichanga which was very good. The interior of the restaurant was clean, it looked recently remodeled, it had simple yet festive decorations, unfortunately there was no paper towel to dry your hands in either the women’s or the men’s restrooms. When checking out, I was astonished to see the tablet offer three tip options 8% 10% or 15% there was no option to leave a custom tip but even more surprised that there was an 8% and a 10% option. Would I eat here again? Yes I would. The service was quick, the food was tasty, the waitress was kind, and the place is clean.
While staying at the La Quinta hotel in Jamestown, I was looking for some quick takeout. The food was fresh and tasty, and my order was quickly filled. Their fresh salsa was great, and the meal was a great value. The dining area was very basic, but I would definitely do take out again.
Soda was flat, so that was my first impression. Salsa is great! Our meals were good too. Can't go wrong with a chimichanga or burrito special. Delicious! But this waitress had not even an ounce of friendliness. Not a smile on her face. In my opinion, I'd at least appreciate it if it's faked. Not being treated like a burden to be even in the restaurant.
BUYER BEWARE: THE FOOD IS SO GOOD! But the menu is deceiving. Make sure you ask what they have as far as the fiesta sampler goes. They will give you double of something because of missing items and then get pissed off when you bring it up. I ordered a new item. That was pretty straightforward meat rice beans that’s it. They wrap the meat in a burrito and drenched it with cheese. When I took it back to have them change, mind you this is my second day eating there, I had to argue with Lady about what was not Listed on the menu. She then proceeded to tell me it was a different menu and got an attitude when I told her my friend couldn’t have cheese. I got the dinner sampler they didn’t have tamales, chili rellanos or chalupa. She said she would give me extra of something and did not. I’m not sure if this restaurant is really a restaurant or something else that I don’t want to mention on a Google review. Like I said, the food is good but just order something very simple and check your food before you leave. And also check your receipt.
We came here mainly due to the ratings. We should have known better when we found out that they don’t have margaritas and only carry 3 brands of beer. Food was mediocre and the waitress had no personality. Then they weren’t able to break a $10 bill for tipping. Pretty disappointed.
My husband and I decided to try El Jarocho during our weekend getaway to Jamestown because It was walking distance from our hotel. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the queso fundido and the sampler platter, which included a chile relleno, tamale, chalupa, taco, enchilada, and rice and beans. The portions were huge and we could not finish everything. While the quantity was great, the food was bland. I also was expecting to be able to order a margarita, but unfortunately that was not on their menu. They did have a virgin daiquiri, but when I ordered it, the waitress said that they were all out due to a busy St. Patrick's Day. While the food was not terrible, we would likely not come back.
The bad: Very greasy beef and their exhaust fan is literally dripping grease down the wall and sidewalk. No Frank's red hot. Flat soda. The good: Great yellow rice. Great salsa and chips. Great fajitas. Great jalapeno poppers, just skip the sauce and dip in the salsa. Very nice waitress.
I would not recommend eating here. The experience as a whole was not great. Our waitress seemed to be in a bad mood and just miserable which ok maybe shes having a bad day. I have worked in the food service industry and definitely have had bad days but we were very kind to her, always saying please and thank you but she seemed to be unhappy and didn't say much at all. After we got our food she sat at a table in the corner on her phone watching videos. There was no music which is fine but would have helped with the very loud banging going on upstairs. The chips and salsa were decent although we only got a small bowl to share with no refill. My husband's meal with ok nothing exciting but ok. He got the enchiladas. I got the chicken quesadilla and was VERY disappointed. It was very small and soggy. And the salad that came with it was not edible. The lettuce was see-through and brown and the guacamole was also brown. We will definitely not be returning. We live nearby and were looking forward to finally trying them out for my husband's Birthday. Very disappointing experience.
