Celebrated a lovely ladies birthday there yesterday!! A great time was had by all.
The Italian jewel in Jamul. They were extremely busy with several large parties, so the service suffered some.
A classic San Diego spot with a large menu. The place the family built is still standing strong, with some great subs and pasta dishes. If you like a REAL cheesy pizza, this is the spot for you as well. The mega-sized meatballs have been a favorite of mine since childhood, and they never dissapoint.
Of all the Filippi's around San Diego I believe this location has the best pizza. I also like getting their family combo which comes with soup, salad, bread, garlic bread, ravioli, lasagna and spaghetti. The fettuccine and sandwiches are also quite good. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. There's also plenty of parking. You couldn't ask for anything more.
The best lasagna anywhere!! All their food is great. If you're ordering pizza, you can specify crust thickness. Enjoy
Really enjoyed the pie. The online ordering process was down at the time of placing the order but the over the phone customer service was very good and efficient.. Our order was prepared in a timely manner of what they gave us…
During my two-week stay in Jamul, I decided to revisit Filippi's Pizza Grotto, having enjoyed it previously in Little Italy back in 2019. Once again, it did not disappoint. Opting for a medium pizza with half Hawaiian and half Fit for a King, accompanied by a refreshing hazy IPA, we were so eager to dig in that we skipped photographing the entire pizza – a testament to our excitement and hunger. Our server was fantastic, a truly attentive and very friendly individual who elevated our dining experience. Overall, the establishment boasts a great atmosphere with delicious pizza, ample parking, and an abundance of seating. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.
Come with a big appetite because the serving sizes are very generous. I ordered the dinner combo, which included lasagna, spaghetti, and ravioli, along with minestrone soup, salad, and garlic bread. Everything was delicious with still plenty to take home for next days lunch or snack. Bon Appetit!!!
Come on, you know the place is the best around... Here we are again and, as usual, still the best place in town! Well, here I am again, and as usual, everyone is super friendly, and the food is the best around. Thank you so much for caring and giving your best. We love you guys and have a merry Christmas!
The food here never disappoints because it's delicious. I love the "all white" pizza (in pic) off the special menu, which is my favorite, and the Hawaiian is always a favorite at home (in photo with bacon added). I'm adding a photo of a slice of thin crust 'the works' which we really enjoyed with less carbs and less cheese than the traditional pizza made here.
My husband and I had driven past this restaurant on many occasions and had noticed that there were many cars parked in the parking lot. We decided to stop here for dinner. After a long trip through Mexico, we first needed to use the restrooms which were clean and neat. We were seated at a nice booth and the waitress came immediately to offer us drinks. We were able to order it immediately and were served with both regular bread and garlic bread. My husband ordered a pizza which was extremely advertising injury attractive and I had a veal scallopini which was a red style along with some soup a salad which was big enough for both of us as well as the bread which was also plenty to share. The scallopini was excellent as was the minestrone. The waitress by the name of a m i e e was delightful and made the dinner a great pleasure. We had enough left over in the to-go boxes which will give us at least a dinner and a lunch in addition. We will definitely stop here again. Highly recommended.
Stopped in on a Saturday. No wait for a table, service was excellent and the food was delivered to our table in about 10 min. Nice atmosphere, TV's in dining area were pleasant but may take away from a romantic atmosphere, hence the 4 stars. I will return again.
Always enjoy Filippi's Jamul. Food is always fresh. It seems there are slight differences between all the Filippi's. I like the Jamul one the best. Pizzas is always great. Super torpedo and eggplant are great sandwiches. Antipasto salad is delicious. Grab your self a bottle of the wine and decorate it to be hung from the ceiling. Always fun to see if you can find it when you return.
This filipis location is different from others . Their menu is different . At this location they do not offer wings and some other appetizers as well. The spaghetti was good and somewhat warm. The works pizza was a straight 8 out 10. We also tried the meatball sandwich ,which we also rate an 8 out of 10. The service was decent, food took a while and that was that .
Ordered the meatball sandwich, sausage sandwich, the works pizza, spaghetti with meatball and cannoli. The marinara sauce was plain, no homemade flavor. The spaghetti was not al dente. Prego sauce from the grocery store tastes better. The meatball was mostly filling and not flavorful. The pizza dough had a strong yeast taste, too dense and tough. The cannoli was not to par, where the filling was gritty, more like cookie dough. The best thing there was the bread and butter they gave and the service was excellent. They do serve large portions.
I ordered three pizzas from this place, I’m familiar with Fillipes and never experienced any pizza that tasted like these pizzas. They were horrible!! The crust was burnt and hard you couldn’t even chew it. I called but it was actually a few days later just to let them know of my experience both people that took my call were very rude they did not care about my bad experience and they said I was the only one that complained & they were very busy on that day. I still have a lot of the pizza left because it was so gross nobody could even eat it.I even offered to send them pictures of the pizza so they could see the crust but he was not interested his name was Dan & he was supposedly the manager. He was very BLAH on the phone like he had zero pep in his step!!! I will never eat at this location again I will stick to the Fillipes I’m familiar with.
Been a long time loyal customer. Employees used to be like family. However, walked in tonight to all new staff. Waiting for a to-go order as usual. I had to sit there and listen to employees talk about truck suspension, and NOBODY asked if I was waiting for an order for 10 minutes, not counting the 10 minutes in the parking lot. Cashier looked at me twice, and never said a word. Spoke to a guy I recognized and asked what was going on, and he immediately became defensive. I will NEVER come back to this location. $31 for a medium pizza is too expensive anyways, and lack of customer attentiveness breaks the deal. It felt like a frat house. Besides, the menu is bland. I can always go to Rogerios 2 miles away, like all of my friends, and the menu is way better. Convenience was key though, being a half mile away. But after tonight, forget about it. Waiting for a call from the owner, which I'll probably never recieve. I will let all of my other friends, family, and social media know to disregard Jamul Filippis.
