Willet's Lowcountry Jekyll Island Reviews
This restaurant is attached to the Westin and offers some delicious southern food. We ate here for breakfast and dinner and both times were great! I would recommend the Chicken Biscuit and French Toast for breakfast. The Peach Cobbler was good, I just think it needed a little more peach. The outdoor seating was amazing! You get views are the ocean, while in a screened in porch. If we are back in the area we will definitely return!
We came here to hopefully be able to order dinner at 9:45pm and they made it possible. I wasn’t sure about the food but once I tried the LOCAL RED FISH with the Quinoa & Kale Rissoto and OMG! Love it. I ordered the half size and I regretted once I tried it. I’m telling you if we get dinner her tomorrow again and going for the full size. On another hand my bf ordered the Cesar salad and he love it, he was so fresh “one of the best salad i tried” he said lol And our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. You have to come and try if you are around
Great place for dinner. Best entree I had my entire week on the island was the snapper special blackened. Very good. Nice vibe and good prices. If it wasn’t my last night here I would come back again.
Wonderful customer service from Jordan at the bar & Eve with Kyon in the restaurant. Incredible team with warm spirit would highly recommend their service!
Wonderful shrimp and grits. Warm southern hospitality with a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We have stayed at the Westin twice and eaten at their restaurant, Willet's, numerous times for both breakfast and dinner. Service is attentive and very friendly. Portions are highly satisfying and the food is superb for a fair price. 10/10 recommend when visiting Jekyll Island
Best meal we had in Jekyll Island over the whole week. The fish was delicious, service was excellent and we sat in the screened portico with a sea view. On the higher end but very much worth it. Highly recommend.
Food was really tasty. Drinks were good but the daily special drink was a bit light on booze. Friendly and helpfull staff. Ate there two nights in a row as it is on the Holiday Inn property where we were staying.
My wife and I decided to give Willet’s Lowcountry a try, despite negative reviews. We went for dinner and had a wonderful experience! The service was great! Our waitress was quick and friendly. The food was excellent. We had no complaints, and would go again.
Food and service was great. Wife and I ordered the filet and it was prepared and cooked perfectly. Little pricey but overall a good experience.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had on Jekyll- and I’ve been coming here for over twenty years! Much bigger portions than we expected and the service was perfection!
It was a little confusing as to whether we were eating breakfast in The Reserve or Willet's Lowcountry, but which ever it was despite confusing signage, it was really good
We sat on the screened porch and felt the ocean breeze. The food and service were great.
Excellent food as well as excellent service.
Great dinner!
We had our 10th anniversary dinner at Willet's Lowcountry tonight. We wanted a nice dinner, but the options on the island are slim and the website and reviews seemed like this was our best bet. I am so happy we chose this restaurant! We both opted for a house coctail and they were both perfect. The food was delicious. I had the short ribs and papradelli and my husband had the shrimp boil. Both dishes were generous, but not overwhelming, and absolutely perfectly done. The Kellie creme brulee' is my newest obsession... a must try!! Emily, our server was on point, professional and extremely personable... if and when we come back we will absolutely ask for her! I can not recommend this place enough!
We had dinner at Willet’s recently on our spring break trip to Jekyll. Our waitress was amazing, super attentive with great recommendations on the menu. Most of our table either had the Shrimp & Grits or the Lowcountry Boil. Both were just incredibly good. Both were also just a little different than what you would get anywhere else. Traditional enough so you get what you are expecting and craving, but the lowcountry boil had this amazing lobster sauce of some kind and the shrimp and grits had fried okra toppings. These things made the dishes unique and special. We can’t wait to go back!
Really great food and service. Great shrimp and grits, bucatini pasta and catch of the day. We had triple tail and red fish with an amazing succotash. One of the better hotel restaurants I have experienced. Oh, and the staff at the bar - Carlie, Benjamin and Demetrius were all very welcoming and made our time enjoyable!
We were staying at the Weston for the weekend and had plans for the Wharf for dinner. A bad thunderstorm cancelled our plans so we decided to check out Willets Lowcountry. Unfortunately we didn’t not have reservations for our family of four. The executive chef, Kevin, was at the host desk and worked out an arrangement for us to sit at a table. And then the food… delicious! Shrimp and grits and low county shrimp was out of this world! Grateful for Kevin going out of his way to accommodate a last minute table and the food took us is by surprise!
We went for a long weekend at The Westin and decided we’d try their new restaurant. It was a monsoon outside so, staying under roof was a must. We are really, really glad we did. This restaurant was renovated and rebranded recently. Good decisions on the aesthetic and especially the offerings. We enjoyed margaritas that were actually made from scratch (no sugary mix out of a bottle) and fresh Georgia seafood. What truly humbled us was how the staff treated us. We felt welcome and warmth from everyone and enjoyed a really great meal. Proudly recommend.
My husband and I went out for dinner the day after Valentine's day. They still had a special deal which included appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert. It was fantastic. I loved the salad with citrus vinegar dressing. Our server was very friendly and did a great job.
Had dinner here the other night with my fiancé and had an amazing time! We sat at their outdoor seating which had fans to keep us cool and netting to keep bugs out. We had the Southern tomato tart to share, and the local red fish + pork loin Milanese as entrees. The food was phenomenal and the portions were more generous than I expected. I highly recommend stopping here!
Andrew is an awesome server, super friendly! The food was delicious. Tne scallops was outstanding and we enjoyed the homemade peach pie!
Ate here for dinner and daily during breakfast while staying at the Westin. They have screened in porch which allows you to enjoy the beautiful weather and beach views without being attacked by mosquitoes. Everything we ate was delicious! For dinner we had the short rib papardalle and the red fish along w the Georgia market salad. The entree portions were a good size but the salad was tiny for the price. For breakfast we tried the southern biscuit sandwich, avocado toast (added eggs), and the frittata and they were all delicious. The fruit cup is very fresh. I celebrated my birthday here and they surprised me with a peach cobbler cinnamon bun which was so nice! It was also very fresh and delicious. Service for the most part was quite good except one morning near the end of breakfast when it was quite slow even though there weren’t many people eating. Overall our servers were friendly, helpful, and prompt but could see service being an issue during peak season.
It's a hotel restaurant, so you automatically set your expectations low. Don't waste your mental energy doing that. The food here is fantastic, the service is spot on, and the atmosphere is really great! From Madison at the host stand, who was so kind and welcoming, to or waiter, Drew, who knew the menu up one side and down the other and was able to communicate about each dish, listened to us and our tastes, and made great recommendations and wine pairings, dinner was pretty awesome. And the food was great too, so good job to the kitchen. 5+ stars.
I had the filet mignon. It had wonderful flavor, was tender and cooked perfectly. Probably my top five steaks I’ve had in my life. I also had the Georgia peach hand pie. While it had a decent flavor, it was supposed to come with vanilla ice cream. They must have been out so they served it with rocky road. Not a good combo in my opinion. Waiter was nice and attentive
A Southern Breakfast Done Right! This breakfast hit all the right notes; simple, hearty, and absolutely delicious. The eggs were cooked just the way I like them, the sausage was perfectly seasoned with a little snap on the outside, and the breakfast potatoes were golden, crispy, and full of flavor. But the real star of the plate? The homemade biscuit, flaky, buttery, and clearly made with love. It’s the kind of breakfast that leaves you full and happy without being overdone. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and food that feels like it came straight from someone’s kitchen. Definitely a spot I’ll return to again and again
We had a great meal here. Drinks and service was amazing too! Not sure why they’re getting a 4.2. Give them a try, you’ll love your meal.
We came here after 10pm because we'd had a mix-up at another restaurant and needed dinner late. The staff took such good care of us - they got me wings, which were really tasty, as well as great cocktails from the bar. I highly recommend the amazing staff here! Extra props to Demetrius for being the best bartender!!
Had breakfast and late night food during our stay. Every plate was enough for two. Bartenders very knowledgeable and they make a great Old Fashion.
This experience has been the BEST!! The food is wonderful and priced right!! The atmosphere is great especially if the weather conditions are conducive for the outdoor dining. The service is wonderful and very courteous. This was our first time dining abd we will be back again abd again!! KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT SERVICE!!
Peach salad and Brunswick stew were excellent. Half chicken with creamed corn was not impressive. Chicken was dry and flavorless. Gave the impression of a boiled chicken breast that was warmed for serving by pan searing. I was still very hungry afterwards. Don't sit near the bathrooms because you will hear and smell the frier which is very loud and nauseating. Bonus: Restaurant accommodates for food allergies.
Food was mediocre at best. Salad greens tasted odd. Prices were exorbitant for what you got. Service was lacking. We had to ask for silverware and napkins, they brought us (and charged us for) 2 drinks we didn’t order, waitress never checked on us. Not what you expect when paying ~$40/plate.
Staff is excellent; attentive and kind. Food was average to not good. I was a little surprised by this, as a filet mignon seems hard to screw up? “Fresh” catch of the day was pretty fishy.
Food was good not outstanding . The overall management and service was really poor . Everyone was friendly but extremely unorganized. Overpriced for what is was. Waited 20 min for waitress to take our drink order , waited 20 min for drinks to arrive , waited over an hour for entrees , then waited 30 min for a check … where were there for 3hours
The service was fine but the quality of the food was not great. The fried shrimp were so overcooked they and become chewy and tough. My partner had the special which was French onion soup and lamb chops. They had very good flavor only to find out they were left over from 2 nights previous for Valentines Day. This was one of the most expensive meals we had on the islands but was the poorest quality of all meals. There are better options.
The Staff was very nice. The waitress never came by after our dinner was served to make sure it was OK. My steak was cooked properly inside, but burnt on the outside. It had gravy on top of the steak, so you couldn't tell until you put it in your mouth. Terrible!
This restaurant is an utter disappointment and Marroitt should be ashamed to bring this brand to such a lovely hotel. Long waits, which management attributes to only having one line cook. While we are on the subject of cooks, this establishment sorely needs someone who qualifies as a cook. A southern restaurant that can't properly cook chicken without making it overdone, dry an inedible ( was ordered on 2 different days by two different members of our party.) Sad. Arrive an hour before closing time for breakfast and get turned away, because we weren't on a waitlist, by the way we saw no one waiting. When a restaurant has empty tables and what appears to be sufficient waitstaff this is inexcusable. Management in the restaurant was rude and argumentative. . Our party of two was eventually seated as we refused to go away. Four other member of our family were turned away ten minutes later. We ate dinner here our first night, and everything was cold and the fries were raw. We did not return for dinner again . Breakfast was included with our rooms as we are lifetime elite status. The first day breakfast was no better than a fast food restaurant, maybe not as good. Eggs Benedicts with hard poached eggs, burnt chicken and small portions. Today's breakfast was again cold and the chicken inedible. The one bright spot was Lisa, our breakfast server the second day. Will not be returning!
Had dinner and breakfast there. For dinner my family had the ribeye, redfish, and Mahi (fish special). Food was just ok, but very expensive. Waited over an hour for breakfast. Sat for 30 minutes before I could get someone’s attention for coffee. At first they forgot that we were seated, then service was just very slow. We waited over an hour for our food before ultimately the manager got involved. The food was mediocre and overpriced. The sausage patties tasted like microwave sausage, and the toast was plain white bread, not even toasted. The restaurant was just rebranded from The Reserve to Willetts Low Country. Maybe they are having some issues with the transition, but they need to seriously improve. I recommend staying away from here unless everything else within driving distance is closed.
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Came with my family of 5 including 3 young children. After being seated it took 20 minutes and my husband flagging someone down for a server to even acknowledge us. Then, after ordering, we waited 45 minutes to get food for half the table and over an hour for the other half to finally get their food. This was with two hungry children and a baby-everyone knows not to keep young kids waiting for food. This was in spite of a manager promising to “rush” our order when I complained-we still did not have their plates 30 minutes after he said he was rushing it. When the second half of our order was delivered an hour and 10 minutes after we ordered and an hour and 45 minutes after we sat down, they had gotten the order wrong and brought French toast not eggs Benedict. I would seriously not come here if there is ANY other option for food. Save yourself this experience. We wasted half the day here instead of at the beach. Extremely disappointing.
I ordered the 14oz ribeye. Med rare. It came with smash potatoes 5 stars, broccoli sprinkled with parmesan cheese. 4 Stars. The ribeye was covered with some kind of sauce. Ordered med rare, but it was med well at best. The meat itself was a good cut but the steak was absolutely disgusting. 2 stars at best. Wife order fried shrimp. Her comment edible. Everyone’s pallet is different.
