Cafe Aquatica Jenner Reviews
There’s nothing like fresh brewed coffee to start the morning.. we had to stop and get some hot coffee and go back to the road, we surprisingly enjoyed the great coffee they make.
I’ve been going here for years and I absolutely love this place. It’s one of my small sanctuaries. Friendly people, amazing views, great food, and some of my favorite coffee. It’s hard to be anything other than blissful at this place. If you’re going there, don’t ruin it with your bad pets behavior or loud kids. Think of it as waypoint on an epic journey to find sustenance and peace.
Cafe Aquatica is an absolute gem. The clam chowder was outstanding and the crab sandwich was fresh, generous, and delicious. Add in the stunning view of the Russian River flowing into the ocean and it doesn’t get much better. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. We’re also very excited for the Jenner outpost opening next door later this year — can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
Wowowow so happy to have stumbled into this gem. I don’t think it gets better than this- the coffee was AMAZING, food was SO fresh, and the scenery was brilliant. The team manning the shop were icing on the cake- Bianca was so easygoing and helpful with food allergy questions. You could honestly spend all day here, so relaxing and hospitable.
We've stopped here a couple of times now, really good food, and the view is also very nice. Most of the tables are outside, but they also have some covered ones in case the weather isn't nice. They mostly have sandwiches, a few salads, and a wide coffee selection. Great stop if you're in the area
This place is special. I came early before it was crowded…very misty, little breezy. No line and my choice of chairs. Heaven! The coffee and avocado toast were delicious, (watch out for the little black birds…especially the big fat bully, they will try to steal your goodies) there were hummingbirds in the giant lupine, it made my whole morning. Come early for a little solitude and bring a jacket. I can’t wait to come back.
My boyfriend and I love stopping by here for breakfast whenever we stay at the Jenner Inn. The food is always local, fresh, and delicious. We usually order coffee and a sandwich, but we tried the crab melt once and it was amazing! Since it’s the only café in town, expect a bit of a wait — but it’s definitely worth it. One morning while we were eating breakfast, we even spotted otters by the water, which made the experience even more special.
This is the perfect space to relax on an early weekend morning. A sunrise drive up Highway 1 drops you right into the center of Jenner. On the banks of the Russian River, Cafe Aquatica serves delicious local roasted coffee, sustainably sources dishes, and has a relaxing atmosphere that is easy to get lost into. The isolated aspect of the town really allows you to sit and enjoy the scenery, or maybe sit in one of their loungers while reading a great book. Highly recommend this place for anyone that is looking for some time off the road while traveling historic Highway 1!
Cafe Aquatica is one of those hidden gems you stumble upon by chance during your travels. Driving from Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve to Bodega Bay, we found ourselves without cellular reception to search for lunch spots. Passing through Jenner, we decided to stop at Cafe Aquatica—and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The staff were warm and welcoming, the views were breathtaking, and the food exceeded expectations for what appeared to be a humble riverside shack. Overlooking the Russian River as it meets the Pacific Ocean added a serene charm to the experience. The Smoked Lox Bagel was a standout, and the clam chowder, though different from the rich New England style, offered a lighter, clear broth that was equally enjoyable. The only downside was the lack of an on-site restroom. Customers are directed to the public bathrooms in the adjacent parking lot, which unfortunately are quite disgusting. While it might suffice for guy who can go standing up, the women in our group opted to wait for a cleaner facility elsewhere.
Stopped by for lunch as part of a road trip to Mendocino and were happy we did! The smoked salmon roll was a generous portion of salmon and reminded us of the smoked salmon we have had in Scotland. Now the clam chowder was not your typical Boston style or thick like you get at Ivar’s in Seattle. But definitely a favorite of mine for being packed with chunks of potato and fresh clams. While it was more broth, that allowed each spoonful of heaping potato and clam goodness to have some liquid with it. Now these are real clams and not your canned or diced variety. And the buttery, garlicky croutons! Definitely in our top 10 for bay dining along the West Coast.
As a coffee connoisseur I absolutely enjoyed this place and can’t wait to go back. The quality of their pour over coffee was phenomenal, especially complemented beside their impressive smoked salmon options! As well as a perfectly warmed chocolate cherry scone. :) I highly recommend! (Oh, and the outdoor seating is plentiful and views the water nicely!)
A must try! I had the smoked salmon salad and my husband had the crab roll. The salad was super fresh and flavourful. The crab roll was only $15 and had a healthy portion of crab meet and the bun was warm and soft. We also had the clam chowder soup which had a generous portion of seafood in it. DELICIOUS! They have lots of picnic tables to eat outside on the water. The service was quick and very friendly.
Great views from the deck; very little seating inside, but it’s okay because the views from outside are outstanding! The coffee was good. We ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg, and it was a good, quick breakfast before we started the day. A little pricey, but makes sense for the location, etc. Worth a stop!
Good location, where the river meets the ocean, their back patio overlooks the river. The line to order food on a Saturday was long but moved fast. We grabbed our food and sat on the patio to listen to live music. The rainbow sandwich was fantastic, right amount of everything. Red cabbage, avocado, and some other goodies on a focaccia. Salmon lox was ok and coffee drinks were average. I will definitely be back for their rainbow veggie sandwich.
Mixed feelings as the food was epic but the Chai & Mocha were horrible. Chai was not drinkable as the flavor was terrible. Mocha tasted like a regular coffee with no chocolate flavor. Atmosphere was awesome, location is amazing, so get some food and skip the chai.
