I felt compelled to write this review due to all the negative reviews below. I have been going to Chipotle for over 15 years. Chipotle is known for the quality of their food and service with a particular focus on sustainability. The location in Johnson City is no different. The portion sizes and quality of the food is consistent with all other locations I have visited throughout the country. If you would like a larger portion simply ask excluding protein options and guacamole (additional cost). This location just opened and is in high demand. Customers need to be cognizant of this. In addition, many of the employees are under the age of 18 and are trying their best to provide top quality service. All new restaurants take a while to get into their groove. I am very thankful to finally have a Chipotle in Johnson City! Highly recommend.

I just ordered a burrito through door dash. Whoever is making these things on 7/30 around 6:30pm needs a raise. By far the best burrito I have ever gotten from you all. Reward these employees

UPDATE: Second visit really outdid the first one! Staff was much more comfortable interacting with people. Very friendly as well. I also want to mention that I ordered the exact same item as last time, and the portions were much bigger this visit. The quality of food tastes fresh, and I’ll definitely be back! 😊 04/02/2021: Happy with my order. Placed it through the app, picked up in drive thru, and on my way I went. Staff seemed scared to be there 😅 I get they’re all so new; but it’s almost as if they were not adequately trained to the high standards customers expect from a brand like Chipotle. Portions could’ve been bigger for the price.

I just left Chipotle and had one of the best experiences thanks to Ben, the night shift manager. He was incredibly kind and helpful with my order, especially with my BOGO email! The portion sizes were generous, the service was super fast, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Ive been to many different chipotle locations but this one stood out, Ben truly went above and beyond to help. Thanks!

It was a typical Chipotle. Good, but not great. In their defense, they had just served a busload of High Schoolers (soccer team I think), so the place was a mess, but as soon as the bus left, I saw crew cleaning up.

I ordered through doordash and it came pretty quickly. I wasn’t about to drive there myself seeing how long the lines were when it opened a few weeks ago so I can’t comment on service. My burrito bowl was delicious and I like that they have cauliflower rice!! Maybe after the hype of it being in JC dies down, I’ll go in person but even on a normal basis there is usually a line at Chipotle.

I'm not sure why Chipotle gets such a bad rap. They're like the Nickelback of food, it's cool to hate them so people do it. That doesn't make sense to me, I found the service and food quality both exceptional.

I dont know why this place only has 3 stars, first of all its far superior from the other Chipotle on state of franklin. The staff is so friendly, and the ingredients are so much fresher. Yes the prices are high, but what isnt these days. I have been there the last 2 Saturdays for the BOGO special, and u cant bet that.

The food was great! This was my first time eating there, so I wasn’t quite sure how to order but the kid at the counter helped me out and it was great! The staff were very helpful and super courteous. The dining room was kind of a mess, but it was the dinner rush and everyone was very busy. They were cleaning up as fast as they could, but the place was packed.

UPDATE August 2024: They have really turned things around at this location and improved alot in the past few months! I've been twice in the past month and it is much cleaner than before, the portions are good again and the service seems to be more attentive! Will be back regularly if it stays this way. May 2023: This might be the worst Chipotle in America. No good comments to make about it. Seems to have gone downhill fast!

My wife wanted carry out from Chipotle since I would be in Johnson City. She had eaten their food before, I hadn't. We both had the made to order burritos. She was pleased with hers. I found mine to be a bit bland. I would have liked a bit more savory flavor with some heat added. It had neither. I used the app to order and pay, and easy task. The app is quite friendly. Likewise the staff. Inside was clean and well lit, the outdoor seating area was a bit cramped but given the space available it was fine. They have a variety of seating choices inside. My burrito, while on the bland side, was large and meaty. Chips are quite fresh and tasty. Will I return? Probably. Next time, though, I'll bring my personal hot sauce with me!

Our first time trying it- the staff was SO pleasant and helpful! The food was great. I have a 4 star because the tables were almost all dirty and covered in cheese. Also they’re set up weird where it’s hard for a large family with small children like ours to all sit together. Other than that, it was a great experience. Even my picky husband liked it. We will definitely be back when in JC.

My friend ordered the chicken bowl and the Chicken was tough, and dry while I had a steak bowl which had chewy steak. The guacamole 🥑 was delicious, .The wait staff was very nice and friendly and the restaurant was bright and clean. I was impressed by how thoroughly staff cleaned a nearby table .Usually ,I see one person wiping several tables with the same damp cloth at most fast food restaurants .

This is a decent chipotle some vary due to location this one one was a little busy maybe because it was the only one in the area. Food was good and fresh once again because of the busyness of the location.

The food was delicious, but over priced. This used to be my favorite store to get some fast food that was mildly guilt free, but I rarely visit the store anymore because prices have climbed to 33 bucks for two people to get a burrito and a drink. The prices are getting into the territory of cloth napkin dinning. We usually eat at the store, but tables are sticky and it's loud, so we tried the app this time and when we got the bag from the employee my wife's lap was covered in liquids because the bag was soaked in salsa. Yhe one thing I wish is that they kept the seasoned chicken (Pollo asado) instead of going to this new flavor of garlic beef. I'll give 4 stars for the sake of long term review of the product and store.

My husband and I went to the Chipotle on Roan in Johnson City,TN. We went because the ads for it tempted my husband to come for the Al Pastor type of meal. He said his food was good. My meal was just so so and had to pay extra for the guacamole. Which wasn’t very much at all. Besides all that, the place was in fact dirty. We sat by the window and by the ice machine. That thing was over flowing and although the workers were told about the hazard, nothing was done about it while we were there. But they were busy. You’d think there’d be someone that just keeps the tables clean and things functional. We just don’t think we will be back. For the amount we paid, I wish we had a more pleasant experience.

Placed a moble order and stopped by on a road trip to get what we thought was a reliable grab and go meal. It was less than par and our order was wrong, exactly what you don't want on a drive-by experience. Other than that, everything was average as you'd expect.

One of the guys at the register was nice, but most everyone else there was rude as hell, especially this girl back there they were out of napkins and she wouldn't do anything about it, the guy came out and handed u some. Store was pretty dirty, tables were dirty and I get when it's busy you can't clean after every person but the whole atmosphere seemed dingy and unclean. That one young man is the only reason it was a decent experience. The road house had a 2 hour wait so we tried here lol

With the tablespoon of Chicken al Pastor and a tablespoon of steak, one was NOT ABLE to enjoy the flavor of the meats. The Red Chili Salsa was scorching hot. Great! The beans on the side, alone with the other sides, were in the tiny plastic containers too. Will probably purchase the meat-less bowls and use my own meats.

I was very surprised of how bad the chicken bowl I ordered tasted. I have been to many Chipotles as I love their food. I have been to this one about 10 times or so and it was good. I don't know what changed but yuck! There is only a few pieces....and I mean a FEW pieces of chicken. But honestly I didn't care because it tasted burnt and dry. That's about the only thing that had any taste in the bowl. I couldn't even eat it. I just tossed it. It is a shame bc food can be amazing when done right. This will be my last visit to this location.

Overall unpleasant experience. The employee who made my bowl talked about going to smoke weed on his break with another employee right in front of me. When I went to pay, the girl who rang me up didn't give me my total; just typed in my order then looked at me without saying anything. When I asked her what I owed, she just mumbled my amount uninterestedly. I just gave her a $20 and assumed it was enough.

I decided to try Chipotle for the very first time ever tonight. I wanted to grab some food for tomorrow so that I didn't have to cook. First off, YUCK!!! WHY IS THIS PLACE SO DANG FILTHY???? It was horrific! From the time you walk in until you walk up to the counter where the food is at, this place is beyond nasty. I'm honestly afraid to even eat the food tomorrow. Secondly, why do people come here?? There is very little meat and condiments, especially condiments!! I could not even believe you don't get free chips with any meal! Barberitos is on the other side of town and they offer 10x more condiments along with amazing sauces. They give you free chips with your dine-in meal and a bag of chips with your take-out order. I ordered a burrito bowl that is basically all rice with very little meat. For a burrito bowl with basically rice and very little everything else, a small guacamole, and a small queso, it was $16! That is outrageous! The service was wonderful and the workers are so very kind, but the sticky drink area, ice in the floor, filthy everything, very little food for the cost, this place should be shut down!

Great food, but horrible employees. I don't know what it is about these people but they have a chip on their shoulder everytime I go by to get my food. Chick-Fil-A needs to give these people a class on how to provide better customer service. I order my food to be picked up at 7:10 I arrive at 7:07 and was told "You're here early if you could pull back around that would be great." So I pull back around and three cars get in front of me and I didn't get my food until around 7:18. After I finally get my food the guy hands me a tea with more tea on the exterior of the cup than the interior. Did it ever occur to you to wipe the cup off before handing me that sticky mess? Paying $20 for one burrito and a tea and get met with dollar menu McDonald's service. It's a shame because the food is good but these people working in this particular location have the worst attitudes. If you can't do better than that work somewhere else.

I have never had chipotle before and decided to give it a try I stood in line for maybe 10 minutes and then decided to leave due to the condition of the food and one of the workers. The food looked dry and appeared as if it had sat there awhile due to the thick crust layer around all the food. One of the workers in the back looked visibly mad and was whispering to himself and giving angry looks to the customers. I left and went to chicken salad chick next door and ate.

The food has always been good, but my recent experience with service was mind boggling. Had a sign on the window “No Guacamole” so I didn’t order any. I get it if you’re out you’re out. However, when I was paying I saw guacamole on the “to go line”, and I asked if I could get two sides of guacamole. The employee said no, that’s only for on line orders. When did the online customer become more important than the in store customer? Customer service is a thing of the past.

I’ve been to many chipotles, and his was no doubt the worst. I only give reviews if there needs to be a change. The employee gave me 1/4 scoops of food and didn’t even distribute the contents in the burrito. They just don’t give af. The cashier had a good tude, but other then that, I felt rushed and just a bad experience for taking my Gf to a chipotle for the first time.

This chipotle just totally sucks. Go to the new one near Kroger, it’s a thousand times better. The meat tastes gross, the service is not great, and they always charge me wrong. Sucks! LOOK AT ALL THESE BAD REVIEWS, CHIPOTLE!!!! CLOSE THIS LOCATION DOWN!!!!! It is losing you customers daily who are NEVER going to go back to ANY Chipotle!

This place was just plain dirty. The tables had not been cleaned, the floor was dirty, and the trash cans were overflowing with more trash on the floor than would fit in another can. Meanwhile the staff was having a good laugh over the guy that was over enthusiastic in his efforts to mash the avacados. There seemed to be no management.

Yo guys… what’s a salad without lettuce? A bowl. That’s not supposed to be a joke. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so tortillas and rice are kinda off the table for now. My salad claims on the menu that it’s built on “super greens” but they were nowhere in sight. Maybe a separate bowl? Nope! This on top of picking pieces of foil off of my son’s quesadilla was just a cap on an already frustrating evening.

I went in and ordered my family’s meals to take home for dinner. The very first thing I ordered was a cheese quesadilla. They got the sides ready for it and set it by the cash register. I completely the rest of my orders, paid, and left. When I got home (almost an hour away) the cheese quesadilla had never been placed in the box. I tried to reach out to the store but the phone number would only take me through an automated system. No matter what I said it continued to loop me back to the beginning prompts. I started a chat which went through an automated system before eventually being transferred to a person. I informed them about what had happened. They apologized and said they would inform the store for the future. When I asked about being compensated for the meal I paid for but did not receive they said they could not do anything. I explained to her that by keeping my money without me receiving a meal is considered stealing. She the stated they would apply a free BOGO to my account. I asked them how could they force me to pay even more money to get a meal “free” which was not free since I had already paid for it. They said it was the best they could do. The issue was not resolved so I asked for the store phone number or a manager. She gave me the customer service line to contact. The lady I spoke to there did not hesitate to offer me a free meal. Once getting back on the chat, the lady there offered me a free meal for my trouble. I informed her that I had just received one from customer service. My wish was that this was offered in the beginning. Other companies offer much more to compensate for errors. I was not asking for anything more than the money I paid for the meal I did not receive. The entire experience from being to end today was horrible. Chipotle has been one of two places my son is able to eat due to allergies. After today’s experience we are very hesitant on returning. Here is a picture of the box that clearly shows there are no grease marks of melted cheese. There was nothing but the sides ever placed in this box.

My Spouse and I have dined here at least 15 earlier times and have not been there in at least 10 months. Today we went in at 2:30 PM and the store was NOT busy at all, the place was filthy, the glass in front of the food was nasty on both sides to the point you could hardly see the food on the warmers. The young blond adult male serving the food had the worst attitude possible, he plopped one small forkful of pork on the wife’s bowl as though was serving very small child, yes there was hardly any protein on the plate at all ! I asked him to re- address the portion and he rolled his eyes and very belligerently slopped to more small amounts on the plate! “ I was ready to leave but wife was hungry and needed to take her daily medicine ! He handled my order with the same belligerent attitude and did not care at all about the customers or the people he was serving. The food counter where the food is prepped looked like a kindergarten cafeteria floor after lunch and the glass as I stated, was filthy to the point where you could barely see the food on the hot bar. At this point, we checked out using a gift card from reward points from our bank. The cashier was wonderful, very friendly, unlike the food prep. As I left the store, I realized I was pretty upset and called and spoke with the assistant manager, who we will just call the K. I tried to relate to him what happened and he had a horrible attitude and spoke like a robot talking like he was put out with taking my phone call. I had to ask him three times to confirm he was going to give my information to the general manager, “J” and he replied back with a cocky hateful attitude I told you I would, when in fact he never did. Now to add insult to injury we got home and I looked at the register receipt and he had the nerve to tell the cashier to charge us for double protein, which was not what we got. Both the assistant store manager and the food prep server do NOT need to be working here and have horrible attitudes. I do intend to follow up with the store manager at one point during the week as I don’t expect I will hear back from him even though I left my information with the assistant manager! this place has turned into a very dirty restaurant with horrible service ! Both bowls got trashed at home!! The chipotle corporation should be ashamed of this location and the workers here! Sincerely Jeff and Angie!! Update still filthy and dirty and staff is still rude. Turned around left the time !!!

Hours are incorrect. Management needs to really step it up. There was trash stacked everywhere around the restaurant. The employee, I didn't get his name, but he tried to hook me up the best they could. Everything including chicken was out. They were preparing to close at 8 pm. After my bad experience at a Knoxville Chipotle (reviewed earlier), I thought I’d give Johnson City a try. The deep fryer was broken so no chips or hard tacos. Sigh. The restaurant wasn’t busy and yet was a mess. No clean tables. Drink station a wreck. Garbage cans full and spilling out. We dined in because we were killing time, and the entire time I watched as most of the employees stood around playing on their phones and chatting it up. No effort to address the mess in the restaurant. I gave 2 stars because my food was actually pretty good, but the manager on this shift is seriously lacking. My recent Chipotle experiences to date- both not good. Starting to look like a brand issue.

Went in there around 930pm a few days ago ( they said they were open untill 11pm). Thankful they were open we came in. The food was served in plastic bags placed in the containers. (Never have seen this at any Chipolte across the country-looked sloppy and gross). Many toppings were either out or had very little left and food was spilled all over counters.. like a lunch rushed just occurred. My husband was ordering a steak bowl. The kid says with a who cares attitude ..yeah we are out of alot of things as another is cleaning the grill. He scraped the bottom of the steak bowl/bag and showed us barely a scoop full of dried out steak. My husband thought maybe the grill kid could cook more... nope he left the front. He was like yeah we can do a steak bowl with this left over steak. We then replied no thanks and the server seems like ok well see ya later.. like dont let the door hit ya on your way out. Needless to say... we left and went across the road to Taco Bell ( which we never eat there) and got a fresh hot steak chalupa that my husband liked. The owner / manager should be aware of this behavior and method of customer service ASAP! Lose the food bags and get them kids trained. We might give this location one more try... maybe for the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad night. Don't stay open late if you arent willing to serve fresh hot food. Be on top of cleaning the food station. Sloopy stations look and are gross. Do better Johnson City Chipolte by the mall!

I would rate 0 if I could. The restaurant was dirty, my wife's veggie burrito had a sour taste, the chips were chewy instead of crunchy....and all this for 31.00 Nope, never again!!! First and LAST time. Should have known better, and next time, going back to Barbaritos!

Went yesterday and the place was trashed, that should have been my first clue. But I thought maybe they had been super busy till right before I showed up. I ordered a bowl with double steak, black beans, Queso with other toppings. I was eating there, took 3 bites and trashed the whole bowl. It was cold and disgusting. There are going to get someone sick.

The girl with long black hair and long eye lashes was so hateful and unfriendly as hell . I got carnitas and 80% of it was gristle. I do love the menu and a great meal needing some improvement! I’ll be back soon but being waited on by this girl ! Too many people complain about her. I see why now!

Restaurant had filthy tables food was not good a all the chip were stale and the guy could not roll a burrito then he tried again with another tortilla and left alot of the toppings off worst meal I ever had seriously the manager need to get ahold of me and return my money...it was horrible and my granddaughter threw up on our way home..Her food was that bad.. Do Not Eat There. That makes 3 out of the 5 of us that are sick throwing up ...

Where do I even begin with how terrible this chipotle is…. First off I have tried this location 4 times over the course of a year before reviewing it with the same or worse experience. Out of the four times I have gone the food is always cold and the rice is under cooked. The meats lack flavor and the serving sizes seem to be smaller than ever. Dont even get me started on the price they charge for a burrito now. The customer service is lacking and the workers seem miserable working there. I think as a whole chipotle has gone downhill and I won’t be returning to this location. For the $19-$22 you spend on chips, burrito and drink you could eat at a much better Mexican place for that.

I went there after work last night around 9:15pm. I stood there waiting, completely unacknowledged for quite a while before any worker even looked around. They all had their backs to me, and when they did finally see me, they just immediately looked down again to ignore me. When I was finally acknowledged, I was still left to wait while they did whatever it was they were doing. In all honesty, I was fine to wait, but the fact that they actively ignored me while I waited was just completely unprofessional in the service industry. Then, the food was just meh. The brisket was tough and way too sweet and the barbacoa had no flavor. Like, it’s Tex Mex, seasoning is expected, and the fat in barbacoa is supposed to add to the flavor. Brisket isn’t supposed to be hard. The workers also seemed to be packing up the food for the night, which is odd considering that they’re open until 11pm. Plus, it’s a college town on a Friday, there are bound to be random people coming in for food later than 9pm.

I just read the reviews and noticed the notes to “contact us so we can resolve these issues” The issues identified with the exception of rudeness are still there. Steam table was covered in food debris, guacamole was black, tables and drink station were not clean. Very disappointing. I too was excited to have a Chipotle in JC. I stuck with them through the food contamination scare. Loved the food. But this really made me uncomfortable tonight. Very sad.

I ordered through the app because I didn’t have time between my meetings at work. Not only did I receive the wrong order but they were rude to my delivery driver when he went to pick it up. I called customer support, after contacting my delivery driver, and I don’t even know if i’ll be receiving the correct refund because he didn’t confirm what my order was. I didn’t even ask for a refund I just wanted my food that I ordered. Tried contacting the actual restaurant and was met with a robot response telling me that staff needs to focus on making food. Why hide behind a robot instead of actually picking up the phone because you know you can’t do your job? No wonder this place has such a low rating. Never again.

If you want to eat, get in before 5pm. This location is always out of vinaigrette, black beans and usually something else after that (sour cream, etc) during dinner. Keep in mind they’re open till 11pm! And they have people standing in line and don’t even bother to notify customers what they’re out of until you spend 20 minutes to get to the counter to order. They won’t fool me again, won’t be back.

Between how dirty it is, and how rude the staff is, I’d give this place zero stars if possible. The chips are stale, the pans they’re serving the food out of looks like it hasn’t been rotated in days, and the entire staff plays on their phones instead of cleaning the place that is visibly dirty beyond belief. If I owned this place I’d fire everyone and retrain the employees

This place is disgusting. Dirty line where they build your food with caked and dried beans, sour cream and cheese- all the dripped and dribbled food from the day. All tables in the dining room were dirty and they made everyone’s order to go wasting all kinds of plastic and paper. There was even crumbs and debris in the drink cooler that wasn’t even working. My drink was warm and the employee argued about it with me. Also, more than one employee’s hair was loose and just waiting to drop in the food. Don’t bother. Go next door.

Unsavory staff and absolutely trash food. I will never eat here again undercooked rice, overcooked tough steak, cold everything they didn't even turn the warmer on to keep the food edible. This location has absolutely lost control of their customer service and food quality in the last few years. And the prices .. don't even get me started.

First of all their air conditioning wasn’t working but at least there was a sign on the door. When we got there we were in only ones in line. No one greeted us or said they would be with us in a minute. The three guys upfront just talked to each other and did other things while we waited a good 5-8 minutes. We contemplated leaving. I had a kids meal build your own burrito and my chicken was Smokey tasting, my chips were stale and my queso was grainy. Next time I’m going to Barbaritos.

Came here for lunch only to find a list of things they don’t have, including chips, guacamole, tomato salsa, and basically every vegetable. They didn’t even have lettuce, the only vegetable on the line was corn. They were severely understaffed for a lunch hour (only 3 employees), and I felt bad for them. It wasn’t their fault, but there were just way too many customers there for that few employees. The outside trash can was gone, and the only trash can inside was full and about to overflow. Paid $30 for less than what I used to get for $20 at Moe’s before they closed. Will not be back.

Within a month me and my co-workers have placed several orders to this chipotle location. The portion sizes are horrible, the chips were burnt, and the food was sometime flavorless. Today I ordered a bowl, on the sticker placed on my bag it also said bowl. I proceed to open the bag and lo and behold, I got a burrito, even though the sticker on the burrito clearly said BOWL. Make it make sense. On top of this my co-worker went into the store for dinner with her husband and they proceed to tell her (8 months pregnant) they can not serve her her food due to it being an online only item. After placing the order and being told it would be a 10 minute wait she proceeded to wait over 45 minutes for a steak and cheese quesadilla. On top of the 45 minute wait for a quesadilla, the location had no air conditioning or ice on an 80 degree day. I have no idea when chipotle has gone so far down hill but this is just unbelievable that orders written out word for word cannot even be made correctly.

I used to love chipotle but the past two times we have visited have been awful. Both times they appeared to be appropriately staffed and were not busy. Floors were sticky, tables not wiped down, garbage cans overflowing. When ordering were rushed and seemed as if my request for “light rice” was a bother. I gave them a pass the first time, but after our second experience was the same we definitely will not be back.

I have never ate at Chipotle and have never walked up to the counter of a restaurant and turned and walked right back out the door. This is hard to believe but true. The floors are dark but you could tell it was mopped with a dirty mop there was streaks all over the floor. The counters were a mess. The area I would select what items I wanted on my sandwich had fried veggies and meats scattered and mixed all over the counter it was a disaster. Totally disgusting

I have to agree with everyone else that's written about this Chipotle. My wife and I being from the DC area were very excited that this area was getting a Chipotle, but we will probably not be eating here again. We visited the restaurant a few days ago, and the place was indeed filthy. Trash on the ground, giant pile of ice in the soda machine, tables were messy. We can deal with stuff like that. What we can't deal with is undercooked food. Our rice and beans were still crunchy. To me it is the bare minimum that a tex-mex place cook its rice and beans. I should not have to crack the black beans with my teeth to chew them. We thought this would be a one-time thing, but we had Chipotle again today and the food had the same issues. There's not much more to cooking rice than boiling water and stirring a pot for a long enough time. I even told the staff while we were there that the food was undercooked, but nothing happened.

Upon arriving I waited at the pickup window for a few minutes until a very rude man who appears to maybe be in charge opened the window, ignored me and kept talking to his coworker. I finally interrupted and asked for my order. I ordered a double steak bowl with 3 tortillas on the side. As in burrito size tortillas at .25 each. I received 3 taco size instead. The steak tastes like fish. I’m so confused as to why but it’s disgusting and EXTREMELY fishy. I didn’t receive extra corn, or cheese. My chips also lacked salt and lime.

I was checked out by a shorter girl with glasses and reddish hair. She hardly acknowledged me and had a rude attitude when she did. The food was okay, portions were fine. It was extremely hot and a bit messy. I’d come back but not anytime soon.

We should have walked out without ordering. It felt like it was 80+ degrees in the restaurant. The food prep area was a mess, as were the dining area and bathroom. The trash was overflowing. It was late and we were hungry, but ended up throwing away the food after a few bites bc the more we thought about it the more we were afraid it would make us sick.

The amount of hand prints on the doors windows walls I don’t know what happened there. Food all over tables and floors, there was a giant chunk of who knows what in my sour cream, “steak” was more like beef texture it was so dry I could hardly taste, chips were so stale. Terrible service. I'm not sure if it's the manager but every time I have gone there with a certain lady thats a little older than the rest. She always changes my order. Tells me it includes meat then next she says it doesn't?? I've been given less and less the last three times I went there. I don't even know what's the right way to order anymore. I have to drive over 20 mins away to go to the other chipotle so I know that I'm getting the correct amount of food. Every since she started chipotle, it has started tasting horrible.

Used to really love this place and I’m changing my review bc it got bad. I ordered a burrito, and the guy was just staring at me not prompting anything which I ignored and told him my order, and when he went to wrap the burrito about a fourth of it spilled onto the countertop and into the other bins with toppings/food, and he scooped it up and put it back on the burrito so I asked for it to be remade, and so he warmed up another tortilla and went to dump the contaminated food onto it so I left. Absolutely disgusting.

They should just close this Chipotle. It’s not redeemable at this point. All of these terrible reviews are accurate. This location has always been bad and it’s clear they don’t intend to fix anything. My last visit will be my last. Every time I’ve been there in the last two years the restaurant is absolutely filthy and I’m never ever in there at peek times so there’s no excuse. The food is terrible. I’ve thrown away my burrito after a couple of bites on both of my last visits. Both times my burrito has been ice cold…..like they pulled all of the ingredients out of a refrigerator. How’s that even possible? Why does the steak always look like dried dog kibble? Why is my food drowning in sour cream when I didn’t ask for extra? And now they don’t even have parking thanks to the new Texas Roadhouse.

This place was the go to spot for lunch every single day! Then the new one up the street opened and apparently all of the good staff went there. This place has turned terrible, staff moves like molasses regardless of line length, portions are smaller, and they rarely have the good juices leaving you with generic fountain drinks. I was going daily, then stopped. I recently tried a few times lately grasping on for redemption. There isn’t any, today I walked in and watched the line not move for 10min as a gentlemen slowly prepared each piece of lettuce as if to spit management during peak hours.… whole new staff/management required in my opinion. Was a truly amazing place once!

This is the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. Unfortunately, this is the only location in Johnson City, and is the closest for my husband and I. I work until late and we typically can only get food around later hours during the week. Keep in mind they're open until 11. We've been there many times when they've been completely out of many items. They refuse to make more. Even the sour cream! They will scrape and then say, "well we're out". So, they can't open a new bag of sour cream!? Hard to believe they're completely out on a weeknight... especially when they still have around 1 1/2 - 2 hours left to remain open. The staff has somewhat improved in the past few months, but some of them still really don't give a crap, and they show it. There are maybe 3 staff members there that have genuinely been kind. If you're going to open until 11 PM. HAVE FOOD/PRODUCTS UNTIL 11 PM. Ridiculous and disappointing. They have never been consistent here. We want to love this location! But we haven't been able to yet since we've moved here 2 years ago. The location has improved, but these issues must be addressed. Don't bother staying open late, if you're only going to have 1 protein and not many toppings.

I lived near a Chipotle in another state. Absolutely love it and was excited to see there is another one near me, however as I read all the bad reviews I won't waste my time or money. The most intriguing thing I've noticed, is that since the store has opened (over a year now) there are nothing but bad reviews with a response of "please reach out to us at www...." Why hasn't the problem been resolved? Very curious why they even bother asking the reviewers/customers to reach out if they're not willing to fix their store? Well, good luck staying open another year.

This is probably the WORST Chipotle I've been to. My first experience was in NC when visiting family and I was hooked. It was consistently delicious! They never skimped on ingredients, and everything was always fresh. Needless to say, I was super excited when we got one in Johnson City, but sadly, it doesn't even compare! Every time I go, and I mean EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. the bins of meat and most of the toppings are almost empty or they have nothing cooked. At first I thought it was just coincidence, but after multiple visits, it's not really changed. I'm done spending money on a burrito or bowl that's mostly filled with old, hard rice and very little meat. The entire restaurant needs to be doused in Lysol.

Food is subpar and quite honestly it was made in unclean conditions so I took 1 bite and couldn't bring myself to eat it. Food prep area is filthy. Prep counter filthy. Saw employees go from taking money to food prep without washing hands. Lobby filthy. Backsplash on soda machine filthy. From the smell they were all high which I guess would explain why they didn't have trays to carry the food that were clean and why I was told I needed to balance everything I ordered in 2 hands. Ingredients old gross queso old cold grainy. They're not cheap so for that price go to a nice sit down. Shoot. Go to Mcdonald or taco bell across the street it's cheaper cleaner and in my opinion atvleast you can trust the food.

My family has eaten at Chipotles in more than a dozen states and this one is so far below the bar set by the other ones it should be closed. It is filthy. The staff acts lazy and often rude and there are always ingredients missing to which they say they just “didn’t have time to get it all ready before lunch”. We were so excited to have a Chipotle in our home town and we’ve given them several chances but this is our last visit. I’m honestly worried about getting sick from eating here it’s so nasty.

Rude employee. Asked if they had sweet tea was told yes tried to get some only had unsweetened. Was told just add sweet and low to the unsweetened. Got coke in bottle out of cooler and it was hot so ended up buying a bottle of water. They have plenty of sugar just no one willing to make sweet tea sad place to have to eat. Just wanted to share a story…. I truly do not know if it was done on purpose. Maybe it wasn’t. Here’s my burrito that I ordered today. I swear every time I tip they make me the smallest food. NEVER tip at chipotle ever !!! Update: 2026, February….I’m done ever coming to this place again. This has to be the worst restaurant in all of Northeast Tennessee. They screw the order up and then lie about it every time. The only reason I ate this last time is because I had the free entrée points. Management needs to make some changes because it’s like the majority of the staff just don’t give a damn.

I was shocked at my experience I had yesterday at Chipotle on N Roan. I ate there at 3 o’clock on Saturday. The older lady behind the counter was very rude. She acted like she was annoyed that we were there. Every single table was empty and had food smeared and trash all over them not one table was clean, trash was all over the floor of the dining room. I understand if they had a lunch rush, but this was 3 o’clock and they were no longer busy and no one attempted to clean the dining room. The employees need to be trained on how to give good customer service. It was a horrendous experience. Barbaritos and Moes are much better options

They stop serving chips at 9pm and do not close until 11pm, were out of almost every meat and charged me for extra meat when I got 5 pieces of steak and asked for more, guac was brown and they had no fountain drinks available. Already made the trip left feeling disappointed.

Worst experience at a chipotle. The staff began to act awkward and rude because I ordered a single quesadilla, which was denied because I did not order online. So I settled for the kid’s quesadilla, and the required, despite me saying I did not want, sides. Then when i ordered a taco the employee pissly responded about not caring beef and I had to do it a certain way, I was okay with that, but then he started getting short and walking away because I ordered the side taco. Then him and other staff would turn the corner to look at me , clearly talking about me in the back . I can’t be the first person to order a side taco? The front lobby had a Large liquid spill that remained there unmarked my entire time. I then got home to find out they did not heat the quesadilla so it was still just shredded cheese in a tortilla. Bad service, RUDE staff

Reached out to customer support and also had an even worse experience with no offer of compensation considering it was the stores fault and not mine. currently halfway through a burrito that is 50% cheese and i figured i’d make a review. i raised the below issues to management and they told me that they’d actually had a decline in complaints recently! i assume they do not check google reviews the complaint today: staff took a couple minutes to find me waiting at the counter despite the restaurant being empty. proceeded to give me the smallest portions i’ve ever had. touched the food in the burrito with the ladles/serving spoons, which has to be a health violation, at the very least it left an unhygienic impression. after giving me a quarter-label of corn they started to roll the burrito; i politely asked for some more food since i was prepared to pay Chipotle Prices; thankfully they agree—and end up putting an entire fistful of cheese as the last ingredient. i was staring at the burrito but i’m pretty sure she was looking me in the face as she did this. had i received actual adult portions today, this would still have been too much cheese. i took it because i have never had so much cheese in a burrito that it dwarfed every other ingredient, and had no idea it would be this unpleasant. on the upside, the other employee at the register did not charge me for the half-spoon of guac i received! i didn’t even ask. i am only pointing this out instead of chalking it up to a bad experience because i have noticed a general decline in this location over the past six-or-so months. we expect more from Chipotle. here’s some more context if you’re curious— most of the time, every table surface has smears and the outdoor/indoor trash bins are rarely cleared, if they’re even there. this happens when the restaurant is completely empty and the staff appear to be doing nothing. do not trust the to-go app. staff will finish your quesadilla and let it freeze by the to-go window while you wait 30 feet away in the restaurant for your app to notify you it’s done, if you ask the counter they might bring you the food apparently unaware of their mistake. i’ve asked for a burrito bowl/lid several times when getting my burrito to go because it’s a convenient way to transport the remains. staff are so disengaged that i generally have to ask twice, and will only receive the cardboard bowl, and then have to specify a third time that i obviously need the metal lid. i’ve come by 90 minutes before closing to a restaurant that looks like it hasn’t been open in weeks, no napkins or lids or trash bins, dirty floors and staff that don’t really care about their jobs. besides my experience today, i’d say it’s possible most of the staff are actually pretty competent, and they just suffer from abysmal leadership. i don’t blame them because i know how the culture of a workplace will get the same people to react in very different ways, depending on the direction they receive. i realize many of these are things you’d expect to see at most restaurants. this time a year ago chipotle took itself seriously, and i was fine to watch its decline passively until someone filled my burrito with cheese for requesting a visible amount of lettuce.

Won't order online again. I paid $14 for this bowl and this was it. Mostly lettuce and a few chunks of cold meat. I guess they love when people order online, they get to cheap out on the ingredients, betting no one will look at it before they drive off. I feel totally ripped off.

This was a horrific experience. My food was burnt. The restaurant was filthy as shown in the photos. The workers were nice but it was very evident that there was no cleaning done today. The drink fountain was covered in sticky spilt drink and there was not a single clean table to sit at. I was also warned by other customers to watch out for spilt water that was never wiped up. The photos make the place look better than it was. I will not be back

I will not eat here again totally unclean, greasy, trashy and the was the dinning area! I can’t imagine the food station. So they ran out of chicken 15 min wait your in line people behide you so, I said, I’ll substitute for carnitas (pork) a dollar more then chicken, can I get it for the price of chicken they said, No. it’s not my fault y’all ran out of chicken someone needs to be on top of that. Don’t wait till your completely out. So needless to say unclean dinning area and fountain area don’t get me started!!!! Won’t substitute any meat products first and very last time here. I’ll be letting all my peoples know not to dine here. Go next door where you don’t have to look at food on the floor from hours of customers before you.
