Thyme Cafe Kanab Reviews
Are here after climbing Angles Landing. Had the will to live after experiencing the Elk Burger and the special Smoked Gouda Burger! So good😋
We rolled into Kanab later than planned on the day after Christmas, tired and hungry after traveling from Phoenix, and decided to try Wild Thyme Cafe for a very last-minute takeout order right at closing. What a gift this turned out to be! First—huge shoutout to Mer. She was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond, coordinating with the kitchen so our late request could happen. Every single staff member we interacted with was warm, kind, and genuinely accommodating—especially impressive during a holiday weekend. The food? FAN-tastic. The pistachio chicken southwest salad was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the dressing was chef’s kiss—perfectly balanced and memorable. My friend ordered the ribs and they were substantial, tender, and truly finger-licking good. We took everything back to our hotel and had the most satisfying, comforting meal after a long day of travel. Great food, lovely people, and true hospitality when it mattered most. Wild Thyme Cafe pulled off a full-on Christmas miracle and saved us from a granola bar dinner.. Eternally grateful—10/10 would recommend!! THANK YOU WILD THYME!
Was here on Valentine's Day 2026 with my wife and another couple. Due to the holiday it was an hour wait. Once we were seated, service was fast and efficient. We all enjoyed our meals - especially the elk burger - and appreciated the courtesy and efficiency of the waitstaff. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the choice of beverages from different Utah craft breweries. A wonderful dining experience.
Absolutely love this place- have been coming to kanab for 33 years, long before it was as Instagram-famous as it is now, and wild thyme is the cutest and most delicious addition. We stop here every time we come through town, and have never been disappointed in the slightest. Super kind staff, an awesomely cozy atmosphere, and absolutely delicious food. The Desert Moon (drink), wagyu burger, and death by chocolate desert are all absolutely to die for ❤️ 20/10 recommend
Stopped by Wild Thyme Café for a quick lunch after kayaking the Colorado River, and it ended up being one of the best meals of the trip. 🧆 Food: I ordered the elk burger with smoked Gouda, house burger sauce, and sage butter smashed potatoes — and it absolutely blew my mind how good everything was. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. It was the kind of meal that completely hits the spot after a long morning outdoors. 👥 Service: Our waitress, Marsha, was absolutely outstanding. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel instantly welcome, going above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. 🎨 Aesthetic: The café has a cozy little dining area with a comfortable, relaxed vibe. I didn’t get to see much of the rest of the place, but it felt inviting and genuine. It’s a perfect small-town gem.
We had the ribeye, which was cooked to perfection and exceeded expectations. The existence of such a high-quality restaurant within a small hotel was astonishing, and the experience was truly amazing. We ordered the ribeye, followed by the hatched chili pasta. Notably, we dined at the sister restaurant today, and it failed to compare to the exceptional experience we had yesterday at the Knoap location.
One night stop in Kanab, UT and needed a place for dinner - so happy we found this gem! We were greeted and seated promptly. The server was friendly and everything came out quickly. The drink and food selection was nice and exactly what we were looking for after a hard day hiking. The drinks (an old fashioned and a sage honey bulliet rye) were great! The food, even better! Ribeye was cooked perfectly topped with bacon blue cheese butter and served with smashed red potatoes and asparagus. Superb! The Jamaican Jerk pork bowl had great flavor. The carrot cake with ice cream was huge and delicious! Everything was 10/10! So glad we stopped in. Thank you!
Solid Spot with Great Dishes and Spacious Vibe Vibe: The interior is really nice and spacious, making it a comfortable place to dine. I liked the overall atmosphere. Service: Service was smooth and attentive—no issues at all. Wait Time: Visited on a Sunday and was seated right away, which was great. Food Quality: We tried the Pistachio Chicken and Idaho Trout—both were excellent, with distinct and unique flavor profiles. The Yellow Curry and Bean Paste were less enjoyable as the curry flavor was a bit overpowering. Portion sizes were generous. Bang for Buck: A little on the pricier side, but the quality of food makes it worthwhile. Location: Easy to find and convenient to get to.
I had the opportunity to grab dinner with family while visiting Kanab, and Wild Thyme Café did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised by the cocktail menu—great drinks with thoughtful flavors—and the food was just as good. The staff was kind, attentive, and accommodating, which made the evening even better. Overall, Wild Thyme is a fantastic addition to Kanab and a must-visit for anyone who enjoys craft cocktails paired with delicious food.
Best Restaurant I have been in America. We have ordered the Wild Thyme Pasta and the Kanab Cowboy Ribs. The Pastas were just amazing. For Europeans a normal portion, not too large but not too small either. The Ribs are the best Ribs we have eaten. The meat just falls of the bone without effort. Everything was fresh and extremly tasty. The Service was very polite.
Oh my gosh. This place is just awesome. I asked whether to get the bison or meatloaf. I am sure the meatloaf is good, but that bison tenderloin may have been the best meat I have ever had. Just phenomenal. Everyone else loved their food as well. We ran into the owner while snooping around her garden, which is behind the restaurant. What a lovely lady. No surprise that the restaurant is so good. If you only eat one place in SW Utah, make this the spot. Also, if you use the facilities, make sure you read the sign about what not to throw in the toilet. Take that to heart.
Stopped in for Father’s Day dinner ( day early ) met the owner who was justifiably proud of winning several southern Utah restaurant awards. Family owned and operated with family recipes sourced with quality ingredients. I ordered the pistachio chicken. Wife and dad had the Big Sexy Burger (and it was). Mom had salmon. Every dish was excellent.
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would do so. My wife and I came to Zion for vacation. We drove by and were immediately drawn to the atmosphere. It was right up our alley. Beautiful outside eating under the Utah sun in the middle of apple trees, green grass and endless views of the surrounding area. We went 2 nights in a row. The service was excellent by all but a special thanks to Ashley and Lisa who made our trip experience top notch. We enjoyed some amazing drinks. The strawberry basil margarita will drive you to drink more. And the food is astounding. The sexy wagyu beef burger, elk burger and bison stroganoff will have you coming back again. Just like it did us. The restaurant sits just outside of the busy touristy parts Zion. It just feels like home.
This was the restaurant recommended to us by our hotel receptionist on our first night in Kanab. It is a decent sized restaurant on a junction of the main street/highway. We were greeted warmly and taken straight to our table and service commenced. Currently to acquire alcoholic drinks in Utah you must provide ID. (Even in your seventies.? Lol) Anyway drinks and food were ordered and everything was really good. My wife loved her trout dish and I love meatloaf, so that was a no brainer for me. This restaurant is toward the top end cost wise, but in my opinion it's worth it.
We passed through Kanab on our move home and enjoyed dinner here with our two pups on the patio. Our server, Ella, was so friendly to both us and our pups, checked on us regularly, had great recommendations and was very prompt with service. The bus boys as well as Ella always made sure our water and our dogs water was full (they had dog bowls on request). Our cocktails, salads, and meals were delicious. Gave 4 stars for food only because my husbands steak was more rare than he would have liked (please note, he still enjoyed and I think if we had mentioned it, they would have replaced it promptly). The atmosphere was quiet and inviting. I would highly recommend to anyone passing through!
Oct-23rd, I had dinner at the bar, took them a while to serve me. Ordered The Bison medallions, I asked for medium no bloody please. I had to send it back, totally under done, was rare & blood, when you cut into it. That’s fine for those that enjoy rare. It did not look like medallions either to me, seasoning bland, asparagus overcooked but the mashed potatoes were seasoned great & were delicious. So not worth $55. They didn’t even make the cocktail right forgot to put the rim on. And then one of the other waiters decided to read the menu to see if I was incorrect. Really he was not even serving me. I just was so hungry & tired after hiking all day I should’ve sent it all back and went elsewhere. Apparently the chicken is really good. Not worth $77
