Jaguar Kingston Reviews
We stopped at El Jaguar on a Wednesday in April late morning. There wasn’t anyone there when we walked in. We took a table by the front window. The menu is interesting with a Guatemalan Breakfast section. We shared the Spinach Omelet (served with beans, plantains, sour cream, cheese with toast or tortillas $9) and the Huevos Rancheros (served with beans, sour cream, cheese $8) and a side order of plantains. We both had coffee and bottled water. Everything was delicious. Next time we would both order the Huevos Rancheros. The plantains were the best we have ever had. The service was good with only one other customer coming in who said “the regular” and ate and left quickly. There was only one worker who took orders and cooked the food. He was born in Guatemala but moved here as a child. We enjoyed talking to him about our trips to Guatemala. The restaurant has a cool feeling. My hope is that it’s busy on weekends. We enjoyed our meal and look forward to going back soon.
I had a delicious Guatemalan breakfast. It was pretty early in the morning, around 7 when most places in the area aren’t open yet, and the service was very friendly. I hadn’t seen coffee on the menu when I ordered, but the server kindly offered it to me and kept it warm and full like a diner. I look forward to coming back to try their other meals. Edited on another visit to add a photo. Still delicious! :-) Edit for lunch visit: I came for lunch with my family when we were in the mood for burritos. My daughter and her grandma tried it for the first time and loved the food! Veggie burrito and carnitas burrito.
Mouthwatering grilled chicken quesadilla. Perfect ratio of ingredients, chicken was juicy and well seasoned, side sauces satisfied. Friendly staff and cavernous, relaxed atmosphere. Menu has a lot of enticing options, will be back!
I love the canoa de plátano con helado. It’s a fried plantain with ice cream. Delicious dessert.

Super affordable and delicious! I had a traditional breakfast platter and a milkshake with real fruit!
Great food!! Got the carnitas and chorizo tacos and they hit the spot! Loved the crisp on the carnitas. Very friendly service.
Had the Chicken Burrito with No rice (personal preference) which was very good and a chocolate milkshake that was good as well.
We had a great meal here. They make their own tortillas and they were delicious! The server also treated us to a surprise Christmas tamale. I usually don’t care for tamales but this one was tasty. The prices were very reasonable too. We’ll be back!
We travel from CT, for Polar Express. We got in early and got time for trying out local restaurants for dinner and we find this place via Google search. Clean place and food is great. Fast and friendly service. I got 3 tacos (shrimps, salmon and chorizo), my daugther got 2 chicken tacos) my daughter love them! She is a picky eater too! My husband can't believe how good beef braised is. Lemonade is good as well. If this place close to where we live we definitely be back again and again. Overall great menu, food is great and service is great as well. Thank you 😊
Must try! Hidden gem! Though they opened a few months ago and are working out some kinks, please be patient. The service by Naya was exceptional because she truly cares. The food is AMAZING, tasty, and delicious! As someone from Peru, I came here with friends from Guatemala, and we all wholeheartedly approve of this place! To the owner, the hard working kitchen staff are GOLD and it’s seen in the food and will take The Jaguar to where you have envisioned it. Wishing the Jaguar much success. Will definitely be back when back in town Additional feedback: -playing authentic music would add to the vibe -love the couch/coffee table area. Adds a touch and a place for those who want great food and a place to hang out. -the clothing on the mannequin, if being sold, adds a touch of what Guatemala is. Pricing is needed. -Bathroom was clean and neat
Very fresh and delicious burrito. This place is really worth trying. Portions are large, fyi! You could split an order of chimichangas between two people if you’re not starving.
We had dinner, chicken chimichanga, vegetable burrito and chicken tacos. The vegetable burrito was full of flavor and had a variety of vegetables. "Best chicken tacos " says my daughter. Excellent chicken chimichanga!
Biggest *and* best carnitas burrito I've eaten. Impeccably clean restaurant, too. I'm eager to try more of the menu!
I decided to try this place, I was in the area and needed something for breakfast. El Jaguar did not disappoint. It was great ! I will be returning soon.

Nice people, at first I though it was a Guatemala restaurant, I checked the menu and it was more Mexican and American food. I ordered ribs, unfortunately it was over cooked and not juicy. Then I got the Super Famous, it was not cooked at all, red peppers and carrots was under cooked.
