Lola's Pizza Kingston Reviews
TLDR: yummy food, winter dog friendly dining option! Finding places to eat with your dog in the winter / on ski trips is tough, but LOLA made it easy! They have a great covered/mildly heated outdoor patio allowing us to bring our pup while traveling to nearby ski mountains. So many places only have a summer patio, so we really appreciated this option. All the food and cocktails we had - pastas, pizzas, desserts - were delicious and served quickly. Would definitely return!
I only stopped in to grab some pistachio gelato. The gelato at first tasted kind of bland, but as I kept eating I could tell the gelato was made with natural ingredients. It wasn't loaded with sugar. I could taste actual pistachio not a pistachio flavoring. I really enjoyed it. The staff was very welcoming. The decor was lovely and well thought out. next time I'm in the area I will stop for some pizza and gelato.
Excellent service from the moment I sat down at the bar. The cocktail, an update on a traditional cosmo, was served quickly and was a delicious start to what was to come. I ordered the calamari and the Glen Powell pizza. Turned out to be a fantastic combination. The calamari was so much better than I’ve had recently had elsewhere. It’s the kind you always hope for, fresh, varied rings and tentacles, and seemingly never frozen. The pizza arrived almost immediately after I’d finished the squid and was perfectly sized for me. The spicier tomato sauce on the Glen Powell, along with the Kalamata olives had just the right amount of flavor kick I was hoping for. Overall a wonderful culinary experience and definitely worth finding your way through the somewhat confusing entrances.
Here’s a quick NED review for LOLA: --- ✅ What Works Well - Chic, modern ambiance with stylish decor. - Creative menu blending global flavors with local ingredients. - Excellent craft cocktails and wine list. - Attentive and knowledgeable staff enhancing the dining experience. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Prices can be on the higher side. - Sometimes busy, so reservations are recommended. --- 🎯 Verdict LOLA offers a trendy dining experience with inventive dishes and great drinks, ideal for special occasions or a night out. Rating: ~4 / 5
Loved our food, had to hold back from finishing it all so I didn't get too stuffed. The pizzas were creative and delicious, even the salted crusts. Pasta looked good but we didn't try. The artichokes were excellent. The two wines I tasted were not good, but the cocktails looked good. Cozy despite the erratic & random repetitive service...
We had an outstanding experience at Lola’s thanks primarily to Eva, Everett and Amber. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived (Eva was mortified) and then there was a little (understandable) mix up which delayed our seating even more. Everett, who we think may have been the manager, made up with it by comping a couple glasses of wine, our appetizer AND sent over a chef special starter as well. They apologized and more than made up for our not-so-long wait. The artichokes were sooooo tasty and both the pizzas we ordered with the rec of our server Amber were great! We don’t live in Kingston but when we happen back then Lola’s will be on the must visit list!
Lola is hands down one of the best pizza spots in Kingston. The crust is perfectly done—crispy on the outside, chewy inside—and the toppings are fresh, creative, and always balanced. You can tell a lot of care goes into every pie. The space itself has a fun, easygoing vibe that makes it just as good for a quick bite as it is for a night out with friends. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience feels effortless in the best way. Whether you’re a pizza purist or someone who likes to try new flavor combinations, Lola delivers every time. Definitely a must-visit in Kingston.
My friend and I are in town for the weekend and made a reservation at Lola based on online recs. Thank god we did, because not only was the food top tier (loved the hot honey pizza ), but the vibes were out of this world thanks to whoever had control of the playlist. Rihanna, Lana, 2000s R&B. 1000% made our night! Thanks for a great experience!
This restaurant is more than it's simple menu. The pasta was fresh and had the perfect chewy texture. The clam pasta sauce was super balanced and delicious, though the clams were very small. Meatballs and the spicy rigatoni were also delicious and not overly rich. Server was fast and friendly. Overall had a great experience!
I can never get sick of Lola! It’s a must for me every time I visit home and there are few places I can think of that prioritize deliciousness the way that they do. Every version of what they have on their menu is exactly what you’d hope for that thing to be (a dream-like eggplant parmesean, flawless pizzas with unreal crusts, a perfectly balanced pasta with clams, etc). It’s a place to feel good and be happy where you can rest assured that anything you order will be delicious. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.
So we read the reviews before arriving but heard from friends it was great so wanted to see for ourselves. The space itself is large and beautiful - there are 4 sections - bar, cafe, and back patio, and dining area, all well decorated and modern (cafe has a slightly adjusted menu but dinner is similar enough) The menu is excellent - lots of options for everyone with unique flavors but also some classics. The food itself is also very good - we’ve had the carbonara twice, the tiger paw pizza, the stracciatella, and the classic Caesar. Tiger paw was great, carbonara was a little inconsistent over the two times we had it but still delicious both times, classic Caesar was made very well and not dry or drowned which we loved, and the stracciatella was *chef’s kiss* loved it. Now, for the service. This was one weird for us because the reviews of service weren’t the best but we found it was great. We were served quickly and the staff was super nice. They were pretty attentive considering it was busy and we didn’t feel rushed at all and felt take care of. So would say take the service reviews with a grain of salt because it always depends on the day and time for some places Overall would definitely recommend for any kind of lunch or dinner and will definitely be coming back
We really enjoyed eating pizza here for lunch. You can choose to be seated inside or on the semi enclosed heated outdoor patio. I love the modern ambience. The pizza is baked to perfection in a woodfired oven and it was delicious. The staff was very nice and helpful and we will definitely be back. Oh hey, super clean bathroom of course!
The pizza is wonderful and I Italian that has lived in Italy. So I am a tough customer. Highly recommend the Tiger Paw pizza. We tried Carbonara and vodka pasta. The carbonara was very salty and the vodka was good but nothing special. The artichoke appetizer was also very good as well as the calamari. The chicken parm entree was delicious! The ambience is nice. The service was friendly but a bit slow at times.
We ordered to-go orders. The food was fresh, but I would have enjoyed more of the ingredients in my meal. I had the Chicken Milanese with Arugula, Cherry Peppers, Red Onion, Shaved Parmesan, Lemon Vinaigrette. & it was $27. The chicken was a good size piece, but I feel like there could have been more of everything else. Barely any parmesan, and I was given cherry tomatoes instead of cherry peppers. My husband ordered the Rigatoni al a vodka, which the taste was great but again, for $22-$24 the portion was like a side dish portion and came with nothing else, no meat, no bread, no salad. I was very excited to try Lola, but not sure if I'd get anything other than a slice of pizza going forward.
The punchline: Excellent food for a premium with average service I would go back, yes, 100% sure. Everything we had was excellent. The Brian Parma pizza was on par with pizzas I’ve had in Italy (notice the light touch of lemon zest), the tartufo pasta was rich flavorful and generous, the grilled artichokes were grilled to perfection with olive oil, lemon juice and aoili. That being said, prices are steep, especially the grilled artichoke at 21$. We paid 100$ for on starter, one pizza, one pasta and a soft drink. STEEP. The service was pleasant but slow, our pasta took an hour to make its way out of the kitchen. Overall, highly recommend (just cause of the food) but be wary to manage your expectations
The food is excellent. We had vegetables, calamari and pizza and all were done to perfection. Servers were a bit disinterested. Prices are outrageous. $12 for a 12 oz. can of beer is gouging. $28 for a very small pizza is a big ask when you have to flag your server down for additional (paper) linens.
Yesterday we went to Lola's to have a bite. Inside there was a small room with a few tables and a bar. They were making pizza in the same room. We sat outside, we really liked the interior, it was something like a veranda, where there was a lot of greenery and a little more tables than inside. Apart from us, there were only 2 tables occupied, so the order was taken quickly and the food was prepared quickly. We ordered pasta, pizza and two glasses of wine. The portions were very small, the pizza was burnt, there was nothing special in the pasta, just pasta with sauce. The price is $82 + tip, I think it's expensive. The service is ordinary, without emotion.
The location is adorable. However, the service was terrible and even worse when considering the price of the dishes. $24 for a small bowl of pasta. $16 for three small meatballs. $10 for soft serve ice cream. I get it, Kingston is bougie now. But one of the food came out at the same time. One dish would be served, the person would eat, then as they were finishing someone else’s would arrive. This happened three times. Sure, the food was tasty but not tasty enough. For these prices everything should be well timed and the service should be better than what we experienced.
