What Customers Say About Kismet Inn
Kismet Inn offers a beachfront dining experience with a long history and friendly staff, particularly Taryn the bartender. While the atmosphere and drinks, especially Bloody Marys, receive praise, food quality is inconsistent, with some finding it mediocre or worse, and long wait times are a recurring issue.

Kismet Inn Kismet Reviews
Recently visited, had the Mahi sandwich. Perfect! Been a patron since our childhood vacations. Kismet and Cole Family & The Inn, my happy place.
Been going there for 60 years. Same wonderful family. There is no seaside place like it. Picture a swim in the ocean a couple of yards away and eating over that view...
The food is mediocre, but there aren’t many options for a meal out of the house in kismet/saltaire. Sometimes you just don’t want to cook, and the Inn definitely hits the spot on those occasions. Sitting at the bar is always a good time. Good music selection, cold beer, hot steamers. What more could you want from a place like this? I’ve been coming to the Inn for the better part of 30 years, and I’m not stopping just because the food isn’t 5-star. Keep on keepin on, Inn. You’re good.
Seems like Kismet Inn has been around forever. Remember coming here as a teen back in early 80's and having some really good times. People always seem to be relaxed in the summer atmosphere. So jump on your boat, grab some friends and come across the bay. Good food and drinks. Drink responsibly people.🙂
Really good burgers - chill atmosphere - would've been better if the inside was air conditioned, but this was a welcome pitstop during a hot summer day at the beach. Waitress Brianna was great
Go for the atmosphere not for the food. Chicken parm was about 2 inches thick No seasoning. Just takes a little bit of time to get it right. French fries..soggy frozen crinkle fries. Shrimp scampi broiled.. over cooked and breading was soggy as well. The server lacked any kind of experience I think. Had to call her over several times and it wasn't even busy. We will try again just to see if it was an off night..
Wow... The food was bad... a combination of frozen meats or seafood that tastes like it's been frozen, defrosted, then microwaved. Service is without a smile, at least that was our experience. And unless you revel in loud, bad music, don't sit outside. Inside wasn't as bad, as long as you are far from the pool tables.
Drinks were great and so were the views! We should’ve stopped after our drink and left but we decided to order food. After 30 minutes of waiting for food we decided to inquire if it was coming soon (mind you the restaurant was not busy at all, only a few tables and we saw people get their food who sat after us) they said they were working on it as we speak. Cool. Another 20 minutes goes by, still nothing. We go inside and ask for a refund at this point, the hostess and server were kind and understanding but the bartender seemed pretty ticked off. “Your foods coming right now, you don’t want to just wait?” No actually, We don’t want to wait any longer. We waited an hour already for a small amount of food. We got our money back and left. Unsure what happened, Im thinking they are either severely short handed in the kitchen or our ticket got lost somehow, Who knows. If we return we’ll stick to just drinks. Pretty disappointing.
It took an hour to wait for me to be assigned a table, I practically found myself. Another 40 minutes for the food to arrive, we ordered a shrimp cocktail and it was horrible, the shrimp tasted frozen and had a terrible red sauce, the burger was small and nothing special. My daughter and I ended the day with a stomachache. I do not recommend it to eat, it is unhealthy.
Zero stars if I could. Highly dissatisfied in all aspects- food, service, wait time, pricing. A friend & I just came to dine in today- off season for them now since everyone is back to school. The restaurant when we walked in was not too busy, a handful of tables and people at the bar. The waitress was not the friendliest, she just seemed short as we were ordering. We chose to split the chicken parmesan entree and order a Caesar salad & mussels as an appetizer. The caesar salad was just okay- lacking dressing. The mussels were subpar- I had better white wine sauce. The appetizers came out in a typical time frame- around 10 minutes after ordering. As for the chicken parmesan- we were unpleasantly surprised once the plate arrived to the table after a 40 minute wait time (& the waitress ran away right after.) First- the portion was crazy for a $30 price point. One hefty piece of chewy chicken that was tough to slice through, maybe only 8 crinkle cut frozen unsalted fries & one corn on the cobb. We had wished the waitress would have warned us of the portion size when we told her we were splitting it. My friend also had to get the ketchup herself-she asked the waitress and 5 minutes later we saw her just bussing tables to get out quicker we were assuming. I guess this is why there is a lack of photos of the food they serve online. 0/10 would not return.
Wish I could give it 0 stars but unfortunately that is not an option. Me and my friend walked 35 minutes to this restaurant hoping for a good meal. First off the server was terrible, at some point I had to stand up to get my own ketchup behind the bar it wasn't even busy 8pm. Took 40 minutes to get one plate of chicken parm the plate had 10 cold thick unsalted fries and a corn on the cob. 0/10 do not recommend
If you’re reading this while deciding whether to go or not…. don’t. The “lobster” roll is not real lobster. The service was terribly slow, and the atmosphere was dead. Dive is right next door and serves actual food
Big guy at bar over charged me. I told him lunch and one beer. He then rang it up for two beers. Not the friendliest employees. Fish sandwich was good but not great
WORST MEAL OF OUR LIVES, ALL 4 OF US. THE MENU SAID JUMBO SHRIMP. GOT 4 SHRIMP THE SIZE A QUARTER, UNDER COOKED AND ON A HAMBER BUN AND FRIED ONION RINGS THAT WERE SO SATURATED WITH OIL THAT WHEN I BIT INTO IT I HAD A MOUTH FULL OF OIL. IT WAS SO BAD I ASKED THE WAITRESS TO HAVE MY SHRIMP RE-COOKED AND TO BRING ME COLE SLAW INSTEAD. THE SHRIMP WERE STILL UNDER COOKED AND COMMERICAL COLE SLAW. MY HUSBAND ORDERED THE FRIED CHICKEN AND IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY BATTER ON IT, THEY JUST FRIED IT WITH JUST THE SKIN AND HIS FRIES UNDER COOKED. THE OTHER COUPLE HAD GRILLED CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD AND BLACKEN SHRIMP CAESAR SALAD. THE CHICKEN WAS OVER COOKED AND DRIED UP! THE SHRIMP AGAIN UNDER COOKED. WHAT A EMBARRASSMENT. I RCOMMENDED THAT WE TAKE THE PEDICAB AND HAVE DINNER AT THE INN. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! WITH THOSE MEALS 4 BUD LIGHTS AND 1 VODKA AND CRANBERRY THE BILL WAS 125.00 WE LEFT A 30.00 AND THE WAITRESS NEVER CAME OUT TO ASK IF EVERYTHING IS OK OR EVEN A THANK YOU! MY ADVISE IS EAT ON THE MAIN LAND
Horrible food! LONG WAIT TIMES! Service is okay. We went yesterday, Mother's Day (we expected to wait.) We waited over an hour for our appetiter. Then we waited another hour for food. We're told right before they don't have anymore fresh seafood salads. My husband had to change his order and it was all AWFUL! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Would not go back!
Not sure what happened to this place but the food was AWFUL and took 2 full hours to get out, when the place wasn’t even full. The waitress was great and comped a lot of the bill, but wow was that terrible. We’ve been coming here for 30 years, the food was always basic but this was just awful. Rubber calamari, McDonald’s size burger, fake (?) lobster roll meat (idk what that even was). 😝 Every table around us had the same experience.
