The first thing I have to say was about the Valencian paella we ordered... It was excellent, with just the right amount of socarrat (the crispy bottom layer of the paella), and that touch of rosemary flavor that's so often lacking in many places... that's definitely worth mentioning. The starters were fantastic... And even though it's a high-end restaurant (which are usually a bit stuffy), we had a good laugh with the service; the head waiter even came over, and we felt right at home. The only slight hiccup was that the wine wasn't at the right temperature, and we almost finished the bottle before they replaced it... 🤣 We're already looking forward to them doing a stand-up comedy routine and having a drink, because the place is super cool and in a prime location... We'll definitely be back.

Don Baco – A Charming Culinary Experience We spent a truly lovely evening at Don Baco Restaurant, where warmth and elegance go hand in hand. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel right at home — a rare blend of professionalism and heartfelt hospitality. Special mentions go to Jose Miguel, who brought a calm and reassuring presence to the room, and Eva, the sommelier, who guided us through the wine list with knowledge and charm. Santi, in charge of public relations, ensured every guest felt seen and appreciated, while Alex, the manager, kept the entire experience running smoothly. Logan, our waiter, was attentive and personable throughout the night. Each staff member played their part beautifully — elegant service with a warm, human touch. As for the food — it's absolutely delicious. The kitchen clearly takes pride in quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. Every bite felt carefully crafted, with flavours that linger. That said, this is not a budget-friendly spot — be prepared to spend a little more if you dine in. The experience justifies the price, but it's something to keep in mind. Overall, Don Baco is the kind of place that makes you want to return — not just for the food, but for the people. A memorable evening, and we’ll definitely be back.

- Restaurant side :We went here today to see if it had improved. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was a bit slow but we weren’t in a rush. Very good food and service. 5 stars! -BBQ side: We came here a few days ago to try the other side. We were given a table and we waited for 10 minutes before a waiter came over. He took our drinks order and we then waited for 20 minutes. We walked out and went to Il Cortile for dinner. Staff mucking about playing football outside, bar staff standing around talking. Music was awful, not very relaxing. Things haven't changed, this is why we stopped coming here before. 1 star! -Tip for the owner: Change the name of the business, you still have the bad reviews from the previous owner. Sort out the staff and service.

Lovely lunch in a nice velvety space. We enjoyed the steamed mussels and calamari. Washed down with a nice verdejo. Service was prompt and friendly (it wasn't super busy) and we'd definitely come back.

Mornings are always crowded meaning the food is good and inexpensive! I have been many times and will return often! We came for lunch today and had the Menu del dia. The portions were good and everything was tasty.

Ambiente: aire acondicionado, tranquilo, me gustó mucho.

The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, spacious and clean. But, unfortunately, that's it. The food doesn't taste well at all, including basic like patatas bravas, and the service is pretty average. If you fixed food and train the staff more, this would be the hot spot in Canyada. But today it's not. I hope you take this feedback seriously, because you own a restaurant with so much untapped potential.

Very nice decoration in and out, but a bit noisy inside, and also, some of the dishes with annoying details: the slices of tunna cheek carpaccio hard to chew. It's true that the dishes in general are good and original, but for me, it was not at all pleasant.

It took around 3 hours for the paella to come and the service wasn’t good. The paella itself was amazing but sadly it was cold by the time we got it which was less enjoyable 😔.

Don Baco recently reopened and as local residents we wanted to see if it had improved from it's previous incarnation. Our first experience was very positive so we went back today. Sadly it's worse, if possible, than previously. One hour wait for very simple food, horrible waiter who apparently is also the manager/owner (explains everything). It is a shame as I'm the rest of the staff are pleasant and trying their best and the location and decor are great. Sadly we won't be going back.

It is a really nice restaurant. Looks really beautiful and has nice drinks but the food is TERRIBLE. They don’t offer options for people that eat gluten-free (really weird because they have something available in almost all restaurants) and for kids it’s also really difficult to find something. The normal menu also is not great. Looking at the reviews I’m not the only one who feels that way so hopefully they will change this and hire someone that can take a look at their menu offerings

Very disappointed. We had booked a family lunch for Saturday, January 17th, for 22 people. The reservation was made more than 15 days in advance, and we had arranged for them to prepare two types of paella, which would be ready that day. Two days prior, we went to the restaurant to finalize the appetizers, as many family members were coming from Alicante and we wanted everything to be ready by then. We were shocked to find the restaurant gate closed and a sign that read "Closed for Holidays." We tried to contact them somehow, as everything was arranged for that day, and we thought that looking for another restaurant for such a large group might be problematic. So we called, but it turned out that their phone was blocked or out of service. We also sent a WhatsApp message to the person who made the reservation and an email, but we never received a reply. Fortunately, we managed to get them to agree to let us into the "El Plantio" restaurant. On the day of the meal, around 11:30 a.m., we received a text message asking us to confirm or cancel the reservation. The same day as the reservation! Two and a half hours before! As of today, January 26th, the restaurant remains closed, and we haven't heard anything more. I'm giving it one star because I can't give it less.

A DISASTER, RUDE OWNER. We arrived at 2:15 PM with the food we had ordered the day before (they requested it by email, even the appetizers). At 3:00 PM, we complained that they still hadn't taken our drink order. We asked for the appetizers, and for two portions of potato salad, eggplant, and some clams, it took another 40 minutes (again, after ordering it the day before). Finally, at 4:15 PM, we asked for the bill for what we had ordered so we could leave without eating. AND THE OWNER, WHO WAS ALREADY EATING (before the other customers, of course), got up and came to our table, saying he wasn't a waiter...HE WAS THE OWNER! He asked us what we were supposed to do with the food... in a very inappropriate manner. DON'T GO, THIS IS MY ADVICE.

We came today Sunday for a Tapas on the terrace and had a very poor experience. We sat at a table that was still laid with glasses from a previous customer. There was no one serving. After 10 min a waiter showed up on the terrace but ignored us because he did not realise we were new customers. I waved at him, he came and I told him we were a new customer and asked for the menu. He cleared the table and came back with the menu. I asked him if he could clean the table that was full of glass marks from the previous customer, but he never did. 30 min later he had not come back to take the order. I went inside to try to talk to the waitress who handle the coffee machine, but she was avoiding eye contact. I asked another waiter who was operating inside if we could order some food, and he told me that the waiter was on the other side at the restaurant, but he would tell him we were waiting. 10 min later, still no one had come. I went back in and asked him again how to proceed to place an order. He directed me to the woman at the coffee machine. I asked her why no one was coming to take our order, and she said that there were too few staff. However she agreed to take my tapas order. 15 min later we still had not see any food (I had 3 children aged 6 to 9 and my 85 year old mother with me, so needless to say that 45 min wait felt like a very long time. We were about to give up and leave when the food finally arrived. I asked again if they could clean the table but the woman told ne the table was perfectly clean. They put the food on the table but gave us no plate, not fork and no knife. I guess we were supposed to eat with fingers although we had ordered sardines calamari & ham, as well some tapas with melted cheese. I went inside to try to find some cutlery, but could not see any around, so went to the Restaurant, and asked a waiter for 5 knives and 5 forks. He gave then to me with a plate, and some olives as a form of apologies. I bumped into the waitress while I was coming back with a plate full of knives and forks, and told her I was doing her job. She did not respond. At the end, we ate whatever we had ordered without plates and we only two glasses (I had ordered 2 bottles of water so they only gave us 2 glasses). It was not enough food but we were so exhausted by the wait that we just paid the bill and left. We finished our meal at home. Of course I had no apologies from the woman at the coffee machine and tilt when I went to pay the bill. Up to that point, I was a regular customer of Don Baco, coming several times a week for coffee and regularly on evenings for meals.

The restaurant is really nice and classy BUT the service is just horrible ! The waiters running from table to table without any goals. 5 peoples waiting for 20 mn despite the fact they have a reservation ! ( cf photo) For sure I not recommande this place for the service it’s just horrible !
