Fresheria La Jolla Reviews
Wonderful, quaint place with fresh delicious food! We shared the Fried Dumplings, House Fried Rice and Lemon Chicken. Lots of flavor, generous portions just enough for two (maybe 3 but we were hungry... hahaha) Definitely will be back when in La Jolla... just a short walk from our favorite hotel too.
This restuarant has been here for decades now. Been on the front page of the union tribute in 1996. The food is great honestly my Chinese Grandfather would've loved it. The style, is traditional, waitresses are very servicable. I loved it 😁👍
Mongolian beef 10/10. Service quick and polite. Quiet atmosphere to read a good book and chow.
This is the best Chinese food I have had in so long, this is better than catfish fried tacos in Mexico right? 🤷 Che Che maa maa che che ja ja

Food was delicious. Waitress was kind and patient as she made our customization to the food order. Waiting time was reasonable. The space was clean and decent sized. We are so thankful to them for serving us food on the Thanksgiving day afternoon when I and friends were starving and all other restaurants nearby were closed 😕 Just tipping wasn't enough so I couldn't stop myself from writing this review as a note of thanks to the "China Chef".
I absolutely love their salt and pepper shrimp! It is my favorite thing on the menu. You are able to control the level of spice in your dish if you are someone who doesn’t like spicy food. I get it the way they make it regularly and I think it is delicious and the spice level is perfect for me! They have many different options and a few different desserts as well. I enjoyed their green tea ice cream!
Absolutely delicious. The Buddha Delight had so much flavor. Fried rice was very tasty. The service is excellent! Will be back and recommended if looking for really good Chinese food.
This is our go-to Chinese restaurant. The food is delicious. They are always faster than I expect and they really do a great job taking care of us! Thank you, Bob, for very quickly taking care of a mistake on tonight's order!!! FYI I always order through their website, Asian Garden Order Online, only $2 delivery charge.

Please start checking how cooked your boba is before you give to customers! The boba teas are a favorite but I have now had ones that have ranged from overcooked to completely undercooked. In the attached photo you can see just how undercooked my boba was (and I ate most of it), but for those who haven’t ever eaten raw boba it is like eating balls of chalk - horrible.

The owners were super nice and the food was FAST. Mine was piping hot, my boyfriend’s was “warm”. It just wasn’t that delicious...The fried rice was basically unseasoned. I ended up drowning mine in the sweet and sour sauce to give it some flavor. My tofu/broccoli dish was okay and overall the portions were very generous for the price (lunch special!). I don’t think I’d come back here if I were in the are again

The food is edible but totally bland and eminently forgettable, if abundant. We ordered egg rolls that were dry and tasteless, but crispy. The crust was the best part. We also ordered shrimp fried rice, which lacked seasoning and required generous applications of soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce for any flavor at all, but had a goodly number of shrimp. Our "spicy" Kung Pao shrimp had a few peppers in it, but totally lacked spiciness. We won't return. Bland, bland, bland.
1st order here. Ordered General TAo's Chicken. They asked if I wanted it with vegetables or deep fried. Chose deep fried. Dish is in general described/known as a crisp breaded chicken pieces in a sweet tangy sauce. The dish I received was total MUSH breaded chicken, not AT ALL crispy, and nor any sense of 'sweet' with the tangy. Mine order being the 'deep fried', I can not fathom stomaching the MUSH breading that would suround the non deep fried order. This dish being one of the 10-12 'Chef's Specialty' dish offerings - headlining the menu, it leaves very little confidence in what would be expected of the 30-40 other menu offerings - outside what they would consider outside their chef's specialties. Photo'd is roughly the portion remaining I won't eat.

We came here on a busy day, and the food was understandably rushed. I ordered chicken fried rice and I noticed that it tasted off. Instead of having the chicken stir fried and cooked with the rest of the plate, it was boiled and added separately, taking away from the flavor of the rest of the food. Additionally, service was very slow here. Though I appreciate the hard work of the people in the kitchen and the server, I unfortunately did not have a positive experience.
Ordered the Kung Pao dinner plate. Asked for spicy. The food was sub par from the flavor to the quality of the meat which was chewy and strange texture for chicken. Fried rice is nothing but fried rice, literally nothing else. Wouldn’t highly recommend this place for a $21 dinner plate I would expect high quality food.
This is for delivery only. And never order from these people. I called up, placed my order and was told that it would be 45 minutes. It took a little under 90. When I got my food, it was cold and the delivery driver left without offering me any change. When I got inside, my food was cold and the order was wrong. I called up and was told the only way I could get a refund would be to drive all the way down there and back. And I had better have a "complete" order. I did this. When I got there, the woman made me wait again to get my money back and then she very closely examined all the food to make sure I hadn't dared to eat anything to make up for the 45 minute drive there and back through traffic. I got my money back and then the driver was very threatening and said I had better not say he stole from me.

The food was delivered 45 min after I was told it would be here. The food is gross! Has a little bit and bland! Pork fried rice.... tastes like nothing but grease and nothing like it should! 😢 I order one thing, they bring another. Don't waste your time or money! They did not even tell me how much before they hung up. Not worth it at all!
2 days ago, I visited here to have lunch. I ordered several foods with rice. however my rice color was weird; it was mixed with white and 'black'. so we asked to the waitress to change into new one. but she said that there is no problem and 'just' eat it with rude behavior. eventually she gave us new one but just kept argued with us so we were totally messed up that day. taste was just fine but she really had attitude problem.
Worst food I have eaten!! I will never eat here again!! Don’t waste your money!! My friend ordered chicken with vegetables he got 2 very small pieces of chicken with very soggy vegetables. I ordered Buddha’s delight. again very soggy vegetables with only 2 very small pieces of tofu. I was very sick to my stomach after eating it. (I didn’t finish my food)
It seems the food was much better in January, but now it’s May. I ordered the General Tao’s Chicken (spicy) and it was just really bad. The chicken is supposed to be battered, deep fried then sauce on top, but what I received was just a very soggy mess that had no flavor or spice. I took all of two bites and just threw it away. It was that bad. I should have just gone to a Panda Express. If it wasn’t for the wonton soup and two fortune cookies, I would have gone to bed hungry. 1 star for the wonton soup and two cookies.
Worst Chinese food ever! Orange Chicken was soggy and not spicy at all. Mongolian Beef was terrible and bland. The House Fried Rice had no flavor. Ordered delivery and food arrived in about 20 minutes which was great until I realized that the food seemed like it had been cooked long ago. I don't know how this place stays in business in La Jolla...
