Panera Bread La Mesa Reviews
I accidentally ordered a hot coffee instead of iced, and Kaily quickly changed it for me with no hesitation. She was so kind, patient, and sweet about it. Great customer service — thank you, Kaily!
The full salads are my favorite. The half soup and salad is a great combo. It is a great place to read and study.
Some creep just said on Nextdoor that Panera Grossmont was not good "anymore". It is a WONDERFUL place for lunch and the employees are ALL amazing AND polite AND helpful. ALWAYS! Week after week. Year after year. Day after day.
I love Panera! This location is hit and miss, but I think the food is usually good. Sometimes my veggie sandwich will have 1 pieces lettuce and onions(wrong order maybe? ), sometimes it's complete. Sometimes the food is incredible, and sometimes I have to spit it out. But it's more bad than good, for me.
This place tends to be low on hot water and milk for the teas. Rarely do I come here and I can both fill up my hot tea And put in the milk without having to request a refill of at least one of them. Today, it was both. Not sure if they’re short staffed or letting things go empty intentionally. Today, their hot tea bags were also low. Some attitude when I asked for someone to refill the hot drinks. I waited a while and received my food, and only then did they refill the milks and then the water. If I were in more of a hurry, which sometimes I am, I wouldn’t have been able to prepare my drink as I like it. Also, don’t get a sandwich at Panera. The amount of protein inside it atrociously low, and the last time I ordered one here, I returned it to them. It was cold, only one short half ring piece of red onion, and barely any chicken. The guy said he could re-make it but “that’s the right amount we’re supongo put on the sandwiches.” It was much better and actually hot when he re-made it, with a bit more onion on it, too. Forget about lettuce on your sandwich! Just don’t get it here. Make sure you’re ok on your salt intake if you get a soup! I really like soup and ordered one today. The lowest salt content was over a thousand!! 1243 or something like that- and that was for the chicken soup. All the others were over 1500, which is over half of the daily recommended salt intake for an adult.
Great spot to pick up team breakfast, personal is good but I stop using corporate catering since it's smaller sizes and higher prices. Good for bagel specials and some sandwiches.
This is our first and last visit. Visit visit to Panera Bread. Both of our sandwiches The bread was dry, the condiments were lacking, making the sandwich seem even drier. , the bacon was paper. Thin and my wife's bread was falling apart. Chip choices, just one. We really expected higher quality than that.
We ordered two breakfast sandwiches that were supposed to be $6.99 each. When we got to the store to pick up our breakfast, we realize that they had charged us $8.99 each. Also, after my wife finished her sandwich, she realized that it was supposed to have bacon and sausage, but it only had bacon. When we questioned the manager about these issues, he said oh yeah, sometimes see online orders get goofed up. I responded that it probably always goofed up in favor of the store. He agreed. We received a refund for one of the sandwiches, but the whole experience still left us feeling resentful. You shouldn’t have to check up on businesses like this. For four dollars they burned a long-term relationship. Is that really worth it?
Ice coffee is so lame it has no flavor and you have to pay extra for flavored syrup. The sandwiches are bland too no favor. I paid 29 plus tip for trash! Do better.
I put a 2 star because I work down the street from this location and I have always ordered online and out of maybe the 8x I have ordered online, 6-7x my order has been wrong. Where as items were missing or items were not added. Out of all those mistakes I only recieve apologies, and only once did they comp a meal for the next time I ordered. But this time I requested no olives in my greek salad, there were olives. I requested chips with my soup and salad, there were no chips. I ordered grilled cheese with a roll, there was no roll. I took pictures showing what was missing and what was not removed from the order as requested. Well today,, because I had to go back after sitting down only to find missing items and having to go back to get those items, I only had 7m to eat my lunch on my lunch break. I wrote this review in hopes someone from there (Panera Bread-Grossmont) actually listens and that employees are mindful that all orders online are correct. I keep asking for that request and still results are the same. Here a pictures of my order that is missing and not removing olives.
Gross. I've never been to Panera before but I had a gift card. I looked at their site and the mac and cheese with bacon looked good. Instead of a full bowl as pictured it was a small scoop in a mostly empty bowl. They give you rock hard room temperature bread. The whole place looks and feels like a rundown Hometown Buffet. On top of that I'm pretty sure they over charged me. Maybe other locations are different but avoid this one.
Worst customer service ever! The young girl at the front counter working the register, had the poorest attitude. Seemed like everything was a chore for her. I overheard her being completely rude to older people in line and was also beyond rude to myself. Give someone else the opportunity to make money and kick her to the curb.
Arrived at this Panera bread and every table was filthy, the entire restaurant was in need of a cleaning. Sixty dollars for two half sandwiches, tiny bowl of soup and a Mac and cheese was ridiculous! For what you get you pay way too much!!! Had to go back up to order pickup several times for missing items or wrong orders. Highly recommend avoiding this place! Panera bread has become grossly over priced for what you get!
Very dirty and doesn’t respect repeat customers. Update another 80 bucks and they shorted me again and look at this so called cup of soup they gave me. I am taking a stand this is ridiculous. I feel like every time I spend 80 bucks you owe owe me a cookie
Absolutely awful experience. We arrived as a family of five with grandparents — first time here. Half the tables were filthy and hadn’t been wiped. Fine, things happen. But the young woman with glasses at the till was unbelievably rude and condescending. Taking an order for seven people seemed like a personal inconvenience to her, and she made sure we knew it. To top it off, she couldn’t even count properly — needed help doing basic math when we paid in cash. And somehow still expected a tip? I’d sooner tip a self-checkout machine than reward that kind of attitude. Disgraceful service. Avoid this place.
I had a very disappointing experience at Panera Bread in La Mesa. The customer service was terrible. A girl named Kaylla yelled at me just because I didn’t understand her question when I asked for a box for my leftover soup and salad. She asked me “whole or half,” which didn’t make sense in this situation, and when I didn’t get it right away, she raised her voice and gave me an attitude. When I asked for a bag, she just pointed and told me to grab it myself. Before that, when my daughter asked for a cup, Kaylla slammed it down on the counter instead of handing it politely. That’s not the way to treat customers. On top of that, the food was cold — the bread was hard and the salad didn’t even look fresh. This is not the kind of service or quality you expect from Panera. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I won’t be coming back to this location.
Just don't do it. Every time I've been here, the service is so, so slow. Will you take you half an hour to order something to go. On top of that, the place is not clean and that is just what we can see as customers, so can't even imagine what the rest looks like. Very poorly run. Most recent example, we came today and there was ONE person working the registers at LUNCH (while also having to run loafs of bread through the slicer and other non-register tasks) - we sat in the same spot in line for 10 minutes with 5 people ahead of us. There is a lot of elderly clientele at this location so it takes even longer (this is not a bad thing by any means, just stating the facts as it should be taken to account by the person running this business). Panera should KNOW this and have more than one person at the register at their busiest hour! This is on par with every other experience I have had here. I was with someone ordering food or would have left if it was just me. On top of that, the tables and seats/booth benches were absolutely filthy. Crumbs and gross streaky stuff at every single table except for one, which we grabbed, and even that was not clean. Again - this is what they show to the public, so imagine how it is managed behind the scenes.
Had to pull a 16 inch long black hair from my mouth after my third bite on the sandwich. I shave my head every other day, so I can guarantee it wasn’t mine. I called the manager over and what appears to be an assistant showed up. Young white female slightly thick. Never said her name. Immediately said she was sorry and offered a refund. I declined and expressed my disappointment and demanded she took this incident back to training and her team. She didn’t like to hear that and tried to cut me off then gave me attitude. Now I’m offended. Not coming back again.
