Sushi Longer La Paz Reviews
We went here to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. It was very busy on a Sunday evening. We got on the wait list and there were 10 parties ahead of us. They said it would be around a 40 minute wait. We walked down to Oxxo to get some electrolytes as we’d been out all day. We got back in plenty of time and they said they’d called us already and we’d have to be put back on the list. We waited another 20 minutes or so and then we were seated in the bar area. I must note that, when we first arrived, there were many tables empty inside and outside yet still a very long wait. Once we were seated, we placed our appetizer and drink order and asked for a few minutes to look at menu and decide. It took awhile and we had to flag the server down to take our order. We then waited for what felt like forever to get our appetizer and shortly after that our food arrived. I asked for a glass of water to dilute our strong teas and never got it. The food was really good but, as other reviews have said, the service just isn’t.
Very generously sized rolls but too ricey. Great for the price and location on the malecón. West Coast people can be really spoiled by great sushi so I'll try not to complain too much! We ordered three of the few rolls on the menu that do NOT have cream cheese on them. The citric roll had a slice of lime garnishing each piece. I especially liked the yellowtail we had in several rolls.
A great place to grab an appetizer and something cold to drink while watching the sunset on the malecon from the front patio. Highly recommend the curricanes con salmon and tostada paceña as appetizers to start the evening. If you're used to lots of raw fish and a more California style sushi, their's won't be your favorite. Initially the server was very quick to get our drink order and asked if we were ready to order food. We requested a few more minutes. 15 minutes later we had to go into the front to let them know we were ready to order. After that, things remained speedy.
Food was decent.. ginger margarita was not good at all.. pickled jinger and bad flavor. Asked for a tequila, lime, and soda, and he brought me out a tequila and Coke and tried to make me pay for it.. Somebody needs to train these kids better. Sushi roll was decent nothing special.
We were excited to try this place, thinking they’d have super fresh fish in their sushi. Unfortunately it was either extremely bland or overly sweet and strange mix of flavors. For example, one roll had egg salad on top of it but that wasn’t on the menu… Pro was the rolls were large but overall I’d probably avoid this spot and get fish tacos next door instead. Hope they can improve their quality soon - great vibe facing the water and kind/attentive waiters.
While the staff is attentive and the manager is willing you to leave with a good impression, the food is oversalted, with weird tastes and mixes of ingredients (there’s avocado and Philadelphia cheese in almost every dish for some reason). The portions are big but they have nothing to do with Japanese cuisine. I’m sorry to leave this review as we asked for our soups to be remade and they were, which we appreciated and it was very nice of the staff. But they still did not taste that good. Beautiful sidewalk view at night though!
This is not good sushi. The rice is gummy and nearly every roll has cream cheese in it. They serve shredded carrots instead of ginger on the side, which may be typical for sushi here, so not docking points for that but just making it known. It took nearly 45 minutes to get our 2 rolls that we ordered. The view was great, but that’s about it.
They didn't mention to us that the wait time for food was 50 mins. Upon paying they charged us extra by charging my card in USD rather than pesos. The sushi was really good though.
The sushi is not great but the location service and cleanliness is fabulous. We ordered 4 different rolls none of them were wrapped in seaweed all fried or deep fried they were all loaded with cream cheese topped with melted cheese then barbeque sauce dripped on top accompanied with a pile of wilted grated carrots. Edaname beans were good maybe their bowls or items are worth trying or just stop in for drinks and enjoy the view.
I checked my time and 1hr had passed Waiting for my food never came to check and aditude they gave us.
My family and I dined here yesterday and ordered several sushi and raw fish dishes. Within hours, everyone became sick with clear symptoms of food poisoning. This is not a coincidence, the only common factor was the food from this restaurant. I strongly recommend to avoid this place.
The location is the only decent thing about this restaurant. The sushi rolls had very little fish. Mostly rice, cream cheese, and some veggies. The service was awful, not busy at all for the Monday afternoon, and the staff ( all youngsters) just hung out inside talking. I had to track someone down to even take our drink order after a 25-minute wait. To top it all off, we paid $1,265 pesos ( $70 US) for a bunch of rice and cream cheese. My kids' chicken pops (nuggets) were better than the so-called sushi! I'm very disappointed. Sorry we will not return. Ni regalado!
