Fish Place La Porte Reviews
The prices are great for the quality and quantity you get. The redfish is phenomenal no matter how you have it cooked. The sauces for dipping are great also. They sometimes give you bogo coupons with your to go orders. I had the blackened red fish combo for 10 bucks, my wife had the seafood platter which she got for free since we had a bogo coupon, we paid around 15 bucks for everything including drinks. I will definitely return again.
Amazing! 1st time and OMG.... Ordered the Salmon Orleans. I didn't know salmon and shrimp could be so tender! The dirty rice was bit dry. Generous portions, mango lemonade is refreshing and not too sweet, taste like fresh mangos!!! My friend ordered boudin links and catfish Orleans without shrimp, did he enjoy it, Lets just say, It was gone before I was finished and I was served first! Everything was delicious! Service was awesome, waitress, Erica very friendly and suggestions were great!
The service was good but the food was GREAT! I had the Catfish New Orleans; fried catfish on a bed of rice smothered in etouffee sauce with shrimp and crawfish on top with a side of broccoli. Trust me when I tell you that it was um um good!! Plus, the dish was under $20! The portions are very large which means that I now have lunch for tomorrow. 😀
We love the food there. We haven't found a menu choice we didn't like. Last time the spot we normally sit in was a little warm, and the service was a little slow (but he did very good considering he had all the tables (about 8-10 tables with people at them, and our table had 6 people).
I had been wanting to try this place out for a while now. Finally stopped in, ordered a michelada with modelo, the gator bites and the etouffe sampler with both crawfish and shrimp etouffes. The michelada was really good. Not super spicy but definitely had a lot of flavor. I had to order another one. The alligator bites surprisingly came with onion rings and im glad they did. They were cooked perfectly. Nice n crunchy and very flavorful with the dipping sauces. The alligator bites were a little small but they were very good pieces of meat. They weren’t over breaded at all and they were also cooked very well. I definitely recommend them. The crawfish and shrimp etouffes were outstanding! No exaggeration! I recommend getting the sampler to try both but if u are sensitive to spicy I recommend going with the shrimp etouffe. Both were very flavorful but the crawfish etouffe has a little extra kick because it comes with jambalaya rice instead of white rice. Very good and very flavorful! I will definitely be coming back! P.S. excuse the dirty fingernails in my pic. I had just gotten off of work and was hungry lol
The restaurant was clean and inviting. I had the Catfish Orleans, Boudain balls, and the seafood gumbo. The gumbo had a good flavor, the boudain balls weren't as spicy as I like, but had a good proportion of ingredients. The main dish was delicious as always. Mari was attentive and got my orders in and out quickly, despite it being dinner time. Would definitely return.
Great little place for some really good seafood! The waitstaff was very kind and allowed me to try a single crawfish since I hadn’t ever had one before, but ultimately I ended up with the seafood gumbo. Also tried their hush puppies, fried catfish, fried alligator, and onion rings and they were all AMAZING. Such a quaint little place; I was very impressed.
"If I have a craving for seafood, do I have shellfish desires? - Unknown 🦐🦞🦀 My recent visit to this restaurant was a rewarding and inviting experience. As a high recommendation, the Catfish Orleans stole the show for me. The zesty yet perfectly flavored spices along with the red beans and rice is indicative of the namesake. The robust, plus the bonus of a good variety of ingredients, was satisfying and amazing. The boudin pork chops dish was delicious, but my critique would have to center around the portion sizes that were underwhelming. 🍤 John was attentive and professional & got my orders in and out quickly as possible. 👍 In conclusion, New Orleans Seafood Kitchen offers a balance of wonderfully crafted seafood at affordable prices with prompt, friendly customer service. I would definitely recommend it to any seafood foodies looking for an excuse to indulge in these offerings because I will definitely return. 🦞🦐🦀"
Delicious food, personable service, clean restaurant and bathrooms, price range varies. No mixed drinks or wine just beer or smirinoff original which was fine. It was quiet and no wait to be seated at 1 on a Saturday afternoon. We will definitely be going back. Ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes with crab, boudin stuffed chicken, pasta Laffayette, and lobster bisque.
Regret getting their seafood boil, it was the smallest batch of crawfish. I wasn’t impressed with the shrimp either. Lacked alot of flavor too, a ton of Louisiana hot sauce saved this. The only thing I did like was the fried boudin from the appetizer menu. I will say their menu items looked like they were better than the actual boils.
Cool hidden place to eat at in Laporte. Quiet clean and great tasting food. Will definitely come again. No music but a few TVs to watch sports. Restrooms are really clean. Tables were clean and staff very friendly. I came late about 7:30. And while I was there more than 15 cars would come to pick up their orders. No margaritas or mixed drinks but had beer and smirmoffs.
The food was not good at all. The fish tasted fishy and needed more seasoning. The boudain egg rolls were mushy. Our waitress only came to our table to bring our drinks and food and never came back to check on us. I was really surprised with the good reviews. I personally would not go back.
Ehhhhh!!! Knowing about catfish and swai, this is not real catfish and to be some close to the port it should be hard to get some fresh catfish. I called to make sure if this was real catfish he said yes. I pulled off to go back to Houston and was very disappointed that it was swai. The hushpuppies were over cooked and not hot and the fish seasoning was blah and one of the pieces tasted like it was old and had been sitting out way to long and had a spoiled smell to it. I bit into it and immediately grabbed some tissue to dispose of it. The best thing on the plate were the fries. I probably won't go back, but don't let me stop you from going and you be the judge yourself..
When I saw the line of cars outside, I got excited because I thought they were for the restaurant. After walking in there were 2 tables with patrons. I took a chance and ordered my food thinking how bad it could be. What a disappointment! New Orleans is known for two things in the food world Gumbo and oversized portions of whatever it is you order. The only thing oversized here was my food cost. The person who took my ordered charged me for a shrimp dish when I told them I was allergic to shell fish. And I never knew you could make Cesar salad with iceberg lettuce. My ranch dressing taste like a store brand and the fettuccini didn't even taste as good as the one I make at home. I've only given a 1 star rating one other time to a place, but this one I won't soon forget.
