Champagne in Ladera Ranch offers a great atmosphere, especially on the patio with live music. Customers rave about the wine selection and attentive staff, particularly Brynn. Food quality is inconsistent, with some dishes like the sea bass and Brussels sprouts receiving high praise, while others disappoint.
Tip: Visit on weekends to enjoy live music on the patio. The whiskey bundt cake is a must for dessert.
Had a wonderful evening at Rancho Capistrano Winery in Ladera Ranch. We had reservations and were seated at a lovely booth. Brynn was our server and was fantastic. She was kind, knowledgeable, and very professional. We started with the spinach artichoke dip with chips, which was quite good. My wife had a glass of Bella Chardonnay, and I had a glass of the Capo Grand Blend. Both wines were very good. Brynn took our entree orders, and my wife had the grilled salmon, and I had the scallops. Both dishes were presented well and served at the perfect temperature. The meals were tasty and plentiful. We finished the evening with a cappuccino. Also, the young woman on the keyboard had a fantastic voice, and her music was soothing and lovely. This was our first time here, and overall, it was very good. Highly recommended
My husband and I have such a good time at this restaurant every time we come. We are a part of their Wine Club and we love all of the perks! The food is also really good! you have to try the Sea-bass. We love getting our 2 bottles of wine per month! On warmer days, they have live music on their outdoor patio. We have had a lot of date nights here and will continue to return. I highly recommend!
Had a surprise birthday party here for my wife. The winery was very accommodating allowing us to come in before our reservation and decorate the table. The service was impeccable. The dishes we ordered were good.
The food was delicious. The location has a wrap around porch which is lovely space to have outdoor lunch since it's right across from the park. The whiskey bundt cake is a must for dessert. Service was fantastic. Everyone in a good mood and very helpful. Squash blossoms are a great appetizer.
Good ambience. Big place and dog-friendly. They have wine tasting by the bar. We ordered Steak Frites, Salmon, Sprouts Brussels, Chopped Salad and Merlot for wine. We definitely enjoyed everything, portions are quite large. Salad can be good for two. Brussels was so good. We love the steak and salmon too! Will definitely come back here.
We joined the wine club and love sharing a bottle of red in their quiet beautifully decorated restaurant. On a beautiful day on the weekends it’s great sitting on their patio listening to live music from local musicians. Loved the seabass, the burger and fries and both red wines we tried, sienna and El Capitan were wonderful.
This place just opened and it is awesome. They are still ramping up operations but it is a great location and they serve fantastic wines!

Excellent menu and service
Lemon chicken pasta was excellent.
Easter Brunch was amazing!
Delicious food!!
Delicious and fantastic service!!
Absolutely wonderful!
The food was delicious. And service was great!
Service was good! Food was great! Nice they asked for feedback!
Nice variety of wines. Particularly liked the Viognier and Cabernet Franc
Great place to celebrate a early Father's day brunch
Great spot quality food. Good amount of gluten free options as well as gluten free precautions. IE separate fryer for their fries. Gluten free pasta options gluten free buns gluten free pizza crust. Sauces without gotten that usually do. The chef has a celiac family member so he gets it. Then if you like wine the wine club is a no brainier.
Great food, great service. Just all wines are from unknown, at least to me, wineries. But I guess can't complain here, since their whole purpose is to introduce wines from small wineries to diners :)
It was a Friday night, and we made a reservation online for 7 at 7:45. We got there early and had a few flights at the bar along with appetizers. We ordered truffle fries, spinach artichoke dip, and the Burrata caprese. All delicious! We were pleasantly surprised with the wine. We had 15 different tastes, and we enjoyed all of them. For dinner, we ate out in the patio and enjoyed the live music. We ordered the Mahi, salmon, truffle flatbread, stroganoff, and the winery cob salad. All delicious. Well, maybe my least favorite was the Stoganoff. It's just not my jam. But everyone else seemed to love it. For dessert, we ordered the whiskey bunt cand and the brownie ala mode. My favorite was the brownie...it has berries. And oh boy, what a treat! I will definitely return. This time with my husband, and we might even take the train since the stop is walking distance. Everything we ordered did not disappoint, but don't take my word for it. Go check them out as soon as you can!
Had Brunch there this morning and what a pleasant surprise it was. I live down the street and I will be coming here frequently. Great vibes, great food and incredibly courteous and friendly staff; they were an absolute delight! Brynn was our server and she went above and beyond. My advice to anyone is listen to her recommendations if you have the pleasure of her service. I got the apple cobbler for dessert when she recommended the Bundt cake. What a mistake that was...Brynn please forgive me! Thank you all for a great start to my Sunday. ✌️
I had dinner here last night and was blown away by how fabulous our server Yamilethe was!!! She read between the lines of what wine we might like and brought us all the perfect choice. She went above and beyond with my Italian wedding soup and not only was it a great meal, she made us feel like VIPs on a busy weekend night. Thank you!!
This was a wonderful experience for my friends birthday dinner. Excellent wine and the dinner was superb! Loved the patio atmosphere. Excellent service to match. Definitely will return soon.
Rancho Capistrano Winery located in Ladera Ranch is one of my favorite restaurants in Ladera Ranch because of the ambience and the quality of the ingredients they use for each dish. If you are looking for an exceptional meal or a good place to celebrate a special occasion in Ladera Ranch this is the perfect location! The dishes that were my favorite were the bacon and apple flatbread and the truffle pizza!
This place gives a high-end dining feeling, almost like being in a big city! Food is amazing, and my personal favorite is the fig bruschetta. It is like nothing I have ever tasted. Drinks are amazing, and the staff are super professional and courteous.
We had a 4 hour dinner after our grandchildren's baptism. Nicholas was our waiter and did a great job. No one wanted to leave. We ate outside on the patio. Great day!!
Absolutely love this place! Beautifully decorated and the staff is too notch. Always greeted and served quickly. Selections are nice and everyone is very nice & polite. If you haven’t joined the Wine Club, do it!
We love the food and drinks but we always return because of the service Eli gives us. He is the most personal, friendliest, and genuine human there is.
Ladera Ranch patio was super nice. Food was fabulous. Happy hour all day Wednesday and Thursday and choices are terrific
Beautiful location and great food. We had a great time and I can't wait to go back.
Good food, pleasant service... on a lovely, roomy, covered patio. And you can bring a dog!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Not too loud. Indoor/patio seating.
Casual elegant atmosphere, excellent food, great portions and awesome wine!
The food was amazingggggggg. The people there were also so so nice.
Amazing atmosphere!!! Food is to die for!!! And the wine is what keeps us coming back! The staff is so wonderful and attentive, we love coming here on date night and bringing our friends to experience the amazing ambiance that rancho cap has to offer. Absolutely recommend!!!!!!

03.22.25 My fourth time here, primarily dinner except today where we had 'brunch' Pretty good on service overall, from reception to sit down and service. Food presentation has been top notch. Food is good to great except that it's a little bit on the salty side. The waiter was very nice to offer a replacement but I didn't take the offer. If it was too salty, I'd probably take the offer or get something else. I don't know if others have felt the same. It could just be me although I have to mention that the food runs a tad bit salty. I appreciate the regular check in by wait staff, especially filing water drinks. It's a relaxing place to go and sit down for lunch or dinner. Plenty of parking although the parking lots can be very busy on weekends.
I thought the food was very good not stellar. I had the pork chop and I honestly don’t remember what my wife ordered… It did not leave much of an impression. I might go back and try something else.

Tried it for the first time. Definitely need to try it!
Yum!
The setting here does a lot of the work. That heated wrap-around deck is one of the more underrated outdoor dining experiences in South OC — you’re not fighting the marine layer the way you are closer to the coast, and the winery grounds give it a feel that’s genuinely different from anything else in the Ladera Ranch area. I took a client here following a listing appointment in the neighborhood and the atmosphere helped set the right tone for a relaxed conversation about strategy. The steaks are solid. My four-star caveat is that the menu leans on the setting more than it should — a few preparations could push further given the price point. As a venue for a client dinner that doesn’t feel like just another OC restaurant, it delivers.
Pretty good wine. It'll knock you out of your seat!
Nice outdoor seating, weekends with life music, great service. Just our dish was not that tasty but our servant make sure we been satisfied so they did not charge us for that. We will be back for dinner service.
Rancho Capistrano Winery offers a charming atmosphere, excellent handcrafted wines, and delicious food, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
Food quality and taste were fantastic, prices are a little high, the wine could be better. Overall a great place to eat dinner.
A bit shocked at the prices but the experience was a good one. The fig bruschetta is delicious the whipped Gorgonzola really takes it next level. Wines are ok - $14-17 per glass. Smoked Caesar salad was just alright, we wanted a light dinner and this fit the bill. Nice ambiance and hostess and servers were kind and welcoming.

I was really looking forward to eating dinner at the new restaurant, but it was a very disappointing experience. First though the server was very friendly and quick to refill drinks when low, so great service. First lost star was for the exceedingly long wait, early dinner (4:30) not that busy and we waited over 45 minutes for our meal. Second lost star was my meal, ordered the Steak Frites, medium rare - it came out medium well, the fries were over cooked and too salty, and the Chimay Churay sauce was too sour. Best part of the meal was actually the salad, well dressed and fresh. My wife's meal, the Linguine and Manila Clams was good, lots of clams, though the noodles were not quite AL dente. For the cost of the meals I expected much better quality.

Apps were good, scallops were small an overcooked
Another update Food quality declines, unfortunately... gave them so many chances past few years. Best thing for me is walking distance from where I live. It became way overpriced as well. New review Food quality dropped really bad. Even pizza is bad now... I'm not sure if they changed the cook or what happened... unfortunately.... Old review My favorite place in Orange county. Wife loves their wines. Food is very good. Much better than anything else around. Being a member is awesome. Great service.
Service and the venue was great. The prosciutto sandwich and the fig bruschetta dish on the other hand were okay, nothing special. For the price, I expected the taste to wow me.
Service was great. Unfortunately, the menu description of what I ordered was inaccurate and they failed to update the menu. So when I received my food, it wasn’t as described in the description. I would have chosen something else if I was aware of this.
Food was amazing and the portions are VERY big. Definitely enough to fill you up and get boxed at the end of the night. Our waitress disappeared halfway through our meal and didn’t tell us her shift was done. The server who took over our table didn’t tell us or introduce himself either. Finally, after dinner we learned they do not serve tea - only coffee. Frankly, how hard is it to keep some teabags if you’re already stocking coffee, creamer, sugar and mugs? Disappointing, we won’t be back.
Food was good but not great. Prices very high $82 each with one meal each, one shared appetizer and one glass of wine each. Our waitress was borderline confrontational when we commented on the knats and significant difference in dish served compared to marketing video. Be prepared for annoying wine club marketing pitch and to be swarmed by knats inside the restaurant. Not worth it.
I have always wanted to go to this place since it opened in our neighborhood. We finally went and thought it was a perfect way to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a romantic dinner while the sunsets. I had made reservations prior and I was specific on where to sit and was still asked by the hostess where did we want to sit. I was hoping to sit closer to the outdoor, but we thought maybe the 4 chair table is reserved for 4 people party. Later on I see 2 people sitting on the 4 chair table. =/ So we ordered the flight of wine and appetizer and it was perfect. We ordered our meal but WOW we did not imagine it would take that long to get our dinner. I had asked for my burger to be medium rare and when we got served they gave my wife my burger and hers was well done. The woman serving the food even asked us who had the medium rare. My wife always checks her burger and I was half way done with mine when she noticed and she does not like medium rare. We did not say anything since service already took so long and my wife just dealt with it. Meanwhile, the whole time between our appetizer, wine tasting, dinner, and paying we were only offered water once. I noticed another party who got there first than us had left earlier than us. I just expected service to be more constant and frequent and I have never been to a restaurant where we were only offered water once. We were super excited and we left disappointed. Its beautiful place but I think from the time of reservation to our dinner service it could have been better. Not sure if we will go back.
It was our first time at the winery, and overall disappointing. I will give them credit on food, the food was great. The appetizer, and entrees, did not disappoint. My reason for the low rating was service. We expect at least a mid level of service at a venue that competes with other fine dining, but the wait staff left us unattended for lengthy periods of time, we lucked out that the table busser provided us utensils, and water. To top it off after spending almost an hr waiting for our meals, we had to wait another 15 mins to get the check and pay.

Doors open wind blowing inside. Very cold. Wines were ok Salad was good.
Disappointed by service and food quality. Have been a wine club member at the SJC location and always very happy with food and service at that location. At the Ladera Ranch location, service was extremely slow and waiter rarely came to check on table. All staff was friendly but not attentive. Food and drinks orders were incorrect and incomplete. Food was mediocre. Best part of the meal was dessert. Nice location and ambiance for a glass of wine, but will not be going back for a meal.
We were there a couple of nights ago (not our first time) and my husband ordered the branzino and it tasted "fishy". I ordered a pizza and it was ok but not great. Overall, the food is just ok. I expected much better quality for the prices they charge. I'm afraid we are crossing this place off our list.
First poor experience especially on my pre Valentine surprise for hubby. Brussels sprouts were burned and only 5 of them. Flat bread mushroom truffle pizza crust burned. I’m thinking cuz I made reservations for 3 pm, which is opening time. Who knows? Consequently, did not order anymore food.
This place is one step above an Appelbee’s.
Such a disappointment. Definitely not “fine dining”. Should have known it would be a bad experience as all the near by restaurants were packed and this place was over half empty on a Friday evening. The $26 lobster bite appetizer was a joke. Overpriced frozen lobster scraps (side note. Don’t see any other lobster items on the menu most likely meaning that they don’t have actual lobster) that didn’t look like lobster and had a rubbery tester. They were hidden underneath 6 quarter size pieces of frozen puff pastry. The surf and turf steak was sad. Half the steak was missing and the “surf” was just 2 overcooked shrimp. Plie of soggy fries and a salad that seemed like more of space filler for the allusion of a full plate. Dessert (bourbon cake) was sent back as I could taste the freezer burn and it hardened during thawing process. Overpriced menu with mediocre food and presentation. Staff was adequate. Nothing of note.
Horrible everything!!!! Not coming back
Poor customer service
UPDATE: I am changing my review from 3 stars to 1 star as I am now in the process of disputing a FRAUDULENT CHARGE from this restaurant. The day after I posted this review on Google, they added $80 to the tip on my bill. I have been advised by me credit card company to file a police report for fraud as the restaurant is unable to provide ANY evidence that I wrote $80 on the tip line of my check. ----------------------------------------------- The food was absolutely delicious without fault. The seafood was moist and flavorful, the pastas and appetizers rich and savory. The service, however, left something to be desired. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, we had difficulty getting the attention of our waitress throughout our meal, our water glasses were constantly empty, and at the end of the evening one waiter knocked over the bottle of wine that we already paid for and did not offer to replace the spilled wine until we insisted. I understand accidents happen, but if you spill a customer's bottle of wine it should be implied that you will either replace or comp the wine that was spilled. I hope to come here again and receive better service because the food was honestly magnificent all things considered.
Recently had a burger there. Had a better burger at inn in out
Really disappointed with the service and the food. I always go to the branch at San Juan Capistrano and always was happy with the food and service there. But this location at Ladera Ranch was a very bad experience. The service was so poor and the food was horrible. It was tasting like a processed food. Not even comparable with the other branch.
Reservation at 1830. Walked in 1838. Was told im late and my reservation was cancelled. Was told to wait for 10 mins. Came back 12 mins. Wait for another 5 mins. Left.... Whats the point of cellphone if they cant message you they cancelled your reservation and you need to wait. They did not even message me to come back. Disappointing. Will definitely just go to the SJC where i feel more accommodated.
I shouldn't need to wait 15 minutes to get a glass of water in 80 degree weather outside. This is restaurant 101. Especially if I'm paying $39 for a sea bass entree.
Bad experience Bartender spent most of the time at the end of the bar talking with his two buddies He told me the Beef Straganoff was cream based not gravy based Wrong My wife ate the stroganoff and I ordered Lasagna Came out stone cold and no seasoning Wanted to talk with a manager but was told the mgr does not work Sat night ???
This is for the Ladera Ranch location...Ok so what an evening!!! One of the worst, and weirdest experiences dining we have ever had. We stopped in on a Sunday early so it was fairly light in crowd. The restaurant itself is actually pretty with a nice covered outdoor area. The staff that sat us was personable enough and semi-attentive so all a plus. Here's where things go off the rails. First off, my wife ordered the St. Patricks Day special corn beef with cabbage. She said it was good actually , but the cabbage was just a quarter head raw sat on the plate which she felt was a bit weird. I ordered the Beef Rago short rib. Generic and way to heavy with an acidic or vinegar taste. Thus the food gets a C plus. Now the the drinks.. apparently this is a beer and wine only location which is fine. BUT, me and my wife each order off the specialty cocktail menu. I ordered the "Power Nap" with the listed ingredients being "Vodka, Baileys, coffee, cream etc." When the drink came , it seemed way watered down and weak. I was going to chalk it up to just a poor bartender or a light pour and not say anything. Then the waitress who was working bar came around asking for round two. I asked what was on their bourbon list and she said they were only a beer and wine bar. I inquired if they were only beer and wine, how is there was "vodka" in my drink and "tequila" in my wife's cocktail. She informed us they use Soju which is a lesser ABV and thus within their licensing. Ok.. fair enough. I asked then how is it the menu says Vodka and Tequila. Her response was they are the same and their bottle even says vodka I explained they aren't even close and in fact seems a bit like a bait and switch for 17$ drinks. She finally agreed that they aren't the same spirit, but the bottle said vodka so therefore they are the same( I think she likely meant the bottle said tequila infused , or flavored) BUT THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT LIQUORS. I told her that explains why my drink tasted off and she said she's not had any complaints. About this time, the 17 year old kid sitting in the booth next to us who overheard the discussion said "hey, it says in small print on the bottom that all drinks are poured with Soju". I suppose that's the piece that allows them to wiggle out of what is nothing but false advertising. We sure didn't see it. I told the bartender, "why don't your owners simply change the ingredients on the menu to reflect accurately and clearly what are in the drinks. " her response is yeah I get it, I'll talk to them. Amazing. Then when we were leaving it dawned on me that Baileys was a spirit as well. I looked at the bar as we exited, sure enough no Bailey's, only Torani Baileys flavored syrup. My family has been in the bar business for years and that level of lack of training by bar staff, misrepresentation by ownership, and general confusion is simply not acceptable. I suppose the filet mignon on the menu is really only top sirloin, but hey the box said filet ..HUH. So buyer beware. We won't be back to any of the locations which is sad as we are seeking new joints and have plenty of funds to share. PS cost our seasoned bartender a tip so she paid for the drinks indirectly.
Salad was terrible.had the same salad a week ago and it was excellent. Fido’s is inconsistent. Definitely not worth the price.
Very disappointed. The costly entrees were poorly plated and one was inedible(Pork). Beet salad was grass with a minced beet. Prime rib was charred and thrown over salty mashed potatoes. Ladera deserves better than this. Get a new chef. Dessert was good.
Let’s begin by noting that we waited for 10 minutes for a server to approach us and inquire about our drink preferences. After placing our order, it took an additional 10 minutes for our glasses of wine to arrive. The food was absolutely terrible! I ordered the pork chop, and it tasted like a fish had been cooked on top of it. The shaved Brussels sprouts were equally disappointing; they lacked flavor and effort in seasoning. To top it off, they served peraid sweet potatoes, which were as bland as a jar of baby food. Honestly, I can make a better meal than this. I won’t be returning!

Very disappointed. The costly entrees were poorly plated and one was inedible(Pork). Beet salad was grass with a minced beet. Prime rib was charred and thrown over salty mashed potatoes. Ladera deserves better than this. Get a new chef. Dessert was good.

Distancia a Centros Clave:
