At Chef Mickey's, we're a family-friendly destination where magic comes alive. Located in Ladera Ranch, Florida, our restaurant is inspired by the whimsical world of Disney. We're thrilled to offer a unique dining experience that combines delicious cuisine with unforgettable interactions with beloved characters. Our guests rave about the fantastical atmosphere, where kids can meet their favorite Disney friends and take part in photo ops that will become treasured memories. From our extensive buffet options to our character-filled encounters, every moment is designed to spark joy and create lifelong memories for families like yours.
Chef Mickey's is highly recommended for families with young children. The character interactions are a highlight, creating a magical Disney experience. While the food is not the main draw, the overall experience is considered worthwhile.
Tip: The experience is what it is because of the characters, the interaction with them makes the place a mandatory stop.
I decide to start our morning breakfast here. And what absolutely incredible and fun experience on the way to magic kingdom park. From the nice train arrival inside the property and the welcoming and friendly staff in the restaurant. The buffet has a lot of delicious options. All the Disney characters were really entertaining the whole time, and each one of them came to our table to say hi and taking some cool pics and they all had the best, kind and most fun charisma. Really an absolutely blast experience and the perfect start to our day at Disney.
This morning, we had the pleasure of dining at Chef Mickey’s with a large group of our family. Despite it being challenging to get reservations, we were all able to sit together— all eight of us. The food was surprisingly good for a buffet, with lots of options to choose from: scrambled eggs, omelets, yogurt, waffles shaped like Mickey Mouse (of course), bagels and lox, oatmeal, a plethora of fruit, French toast, bacon—seriously, whatever your traditional breakfast choice is, they probably had it available. Without a doubt, the highlight of breakfast is the character appearances. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, and Goofy genuinely take their time to make their way around the entire dining hall and connect with every single guest. They’re all fantastic and incredibly patient. Kids were climbing all over them, and they remained perfectly calm while waiting for every photo opportunity. Our whole family had a fantastic time. I can honestly say you really get your money’s worth from Chef Mickey’s character breakfast. They truly go out of their way to make sure every family leaves happy. It was an excellent way to start our Disney weekend.
one of the busiest restaurants at the Disney World. the wait is long even if you have reservations. add at least 20 minutes to your reservation. the characters are fun. the food is ok and not premium. I personally stayed with protein! they say they have 70 dishes!!! mainly oven roasted salmon, beef loin, chicken curry, and the rest look at pictures. $70+ plus tip and tax per person. staff are friendly and they will make sure you see all the characters. parking is free for 3hrs with your reservation.
Chef Mickeys was awesome!!! Had a blast and my grandson loved it. Good variety of food and very tasty. The Mickey waffles were adorable and delicious. The characters take their time and really interact with each table. I will definitely go again. The only small thing is that if your reservation is later in the morning, the wait gets longer, our reservation was for 12:30 and we were seated at 1:25, however gives you a chance to check out the stores and the hotel.
Best meal I have ever had at Disney. Normally I complain about the mandatory 18% tip on large parties but I'm gonna skip that this time, because the food was so good. The dessert options were all awesome. The buffet seemed endless with tons of options, the ribs were near perfect, the buttered chicken was the best I've had, and i didn't have one thing i didn't try to finish. All 5 of the characters came by and gave the kids plenty of attention, they even had a flash mob to celebrate the birthdays, lots of fun. No park admission required, but pretty pricey.
What an absolute blast, worth every single penny. If the person you’re bringing/coming with loves all the Disney characters, this is an absolute MUST-GO! The service ALL over the property is just exceptional but especially here. 10/10!! There’s a monorail that runs directly through the hotel and takes you straight to Magic Kingdom.
As a dad of two, I usually approach "character dining" with a mix of excitement and "how much coffee is available?" But Chef Mickey’s absolutely nailed it. If you’re looking for that quintessential Disney magic without the stress, this is the spot.
Chef Mickey was a blast! We took my 18m old and he was so excited to see the Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy. Kids under 3 eat free so we only paid for 2 adults ($58/person). The food was so goooood! The pancakes, waffles, breakfast potatoes, cinnamon rolls, and cheese sauce were my favs. The service was also very good, every single cast member we encountered was friendly and professional. This was a money well spent experience that we’ll remember forever.
We absolutely love this restaurant! Great selection of breakfast foods to appeal to many different tastes. And the characters always make it special, even as an adult!
Great over all experience. Every character got to us. Good was good, general buffet food but good still.
Booked in for the character breakfast and had a great time. Easy to get the monorail straight to the Contemporary hotel from Magic Kingdom and see Chef Mickey's as you disembark in the massive atrium. Really good food selection covering pancakes, waffles, cold cuts, cheese, pastries, pork sausages and omletes to name a few. Personal favourite was hot cinnamon swirl things which were incredible. Service was good and on par with the usual disney standard. Only gripe would be the general level of noise given the location in the wide open atrium. Other than that, recommend!
Good was great, we had the buffet during character time and it was the grandson's birthday. Characters were very atunned to his shyness and liked his Darth Vader mask he hid behind and he loved that. The service was great and very attentive, drinks never ran dry. The atmosphere was what you'd expect and the buffet had a large selection for all to choose from. Enjoy!
First time experience and it was great! It is a buffet style serving breakfast. From scrambled eggs, Mickey waffles, to fruit, oatmeal and more. They serve mimosas. The atmosphere is amazing especially with all the Disney characters going to EVERY table to greet the guests. You can take pictures with the characters and get autographs. Definitely recommend families with kids. This is an amazing way to start your morning before heading to the parks! We made sure to get a reservation before coming. The best part about this is that you can ride the monorail and go directly to the Disney parks 🤩🫶
Chef Mickey’s is a must do memorable experience in Disney. At no other restaurant do you feel so part of the Magic. All the Disney characters including Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy come table to table to take pictures, play little games with kids, and interact in so many friendly ways. The characters are really generous and inviting for the kids. The food itself is excellent and includes family style buffet food brought to your table. They bring over gnocchi, rice, potatoes, pork, bread, salad, rice, steak, vegetables, deserts, and more. The service is also excellent and the staff is very upbeat and friendly. Though the prices are very expensive, there’s no topping this at Disney. Chef Mickey has everything you could possibly ask for at a Disney restaurant whether you’re 5 or 95 and I give this restaurant my full recommendation.
Chef Mickey's is a great character dining experience! Pricey, however the all you can enjoy breakfast buffet has something for everyone, and more. The characters come to each table and pass for photos while you eat and let you interact with them as well! Even for adults, Chef Mickey's is quite a great experience!
Great place to have your young kids/ my grandson, breakfast with popular Disney characters. Let me me tell you! The breakfast is like none other! Buffet style and it had everything you could imagine for breakfast! The best breakfast I have ever had! It's expensive but well worth it. If your child didn't get to interact with each of the 5 characters that came through, they will ask you and make sure your child interacts with all 5 of them. Great service too!
What a magical place! We had a party of 4 (3 adults and a 15 y..o boy) We made reservations 8 days in advance, did online check in when we arrived to the hotel and hanged out in the Disney stores (in the hotel) for a bit, when table was ready, we received a text message. Food was good (keep in mind the cost $$$ is more for the characters experience than for the food. We payed $250 may2022). We could hugged and took photos with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, goofy and Pluto! It was heaven for me! Server was nice and fun. When we finished the dinner we walked to the bridge of the hotel and watched the Magic kingdom fire works! What a wonderful experience and wonderful night! For sure I will come back. 100% recommended
Great food, fun time meeting characters. Amazing desert bar. We just recently returned a few weeks ago and some things have changed a little due to covid but the service is still amazing and characters still come near the tables for photos. The food was a amazing as always too!! We had our Thanksgiving dinner their and it was delicious!! 9/2/22- another amazing experience at Chef Mickeys. Food was amazing and always more then you can eat!!
AMAZING ..... We enjoyed the service..experience...food...everything. It was our son's 4th birthday. We were given the table from where we could see MK castle. Variety of food. Friendly staff. The characters would come every 15-20 minutes....and would meet the children at every table They gave ample of time to the kids... no rush. Chef micky, chef minnie, chef goofy, Donald duck, Pluto.... we met them all. Amazing experience. My son was given a cup cake for his birthday. We also ordered the Mickey cake. That was delicious.
Yes this place is costly, just like everywhere at Disney. My kids were able to visit with 5 different characters which they really liked. The kids section has pizza, chicken fingers, tots, and other kid favorites. The grownups have a nice salad bar with shrimp, vegetables, olives, and pasta salads. Then there's a line with rice, chicken dishes, potstickers, followed by roast beef cut right there. The food was good, it's not the wilderness Lodge or the Grand Floridian, but good. The desserts were nice, and there's soft serve ice cream. Something that made it difficult was that there were no trays, they don't have them. So if you are getting food with multiple children, you are going to have a difficult time. They should have trays to make it easier for the whole family to get food in one trip.
This place is an amazing all you can eat buffet. They have many different types of food from Asian, Italian, Indian, American, and German foods. They also have salads and deserts. One of the unique aspects are the characters which can be a bonus or hinderance depending on what you are looking for. It is a little pricey but the food quality is great. I think this is a very good place for kids especially. Lunch and dinner are great, but I have not had breakfast so I cannot comment. I would 100% come back to here.
Great time, staff was friendly, food was solid with diverse options continually resupplied. Character actors were fantastic with the kids. Highly suggested for families with under 5s or seeking photo opportunity with several characters without the in park waits.
The one and only Chef Mickey! This is the only place in the world where you can enjoy a delicious, high-quality meal prepared by Chef Mickey and his friends. The live shows are absolutely beautiful and full of Disney magic. Whether you’re visiting with kids, family, or friends, you’re guaranteed to have an unforgettable time. The food is top-notch—one of the best menus in all of Walt Disney World!
A whimsical atmosphere where children get to meet their favorite Disney characters while their parents enjoy high quality food. The price makes it a "once a year" type of deal but definitely worth it, especially for little kids. The food is good, especially the steak for dinner.
Shared with our grand daughter a wonderful moment with Disney's characters. They made sure to stop by every table and take as many pictures as needed. What i really liked was the fact that at the end someone would come to the table and ask if all characters came to the table, one missed our table but he was brought back for the missing picture. Buffet food was pretty good. Happy place.
This place was great. Don’t get me wrong it’s EXPENSIVE! 2 adults to eat, 2 sodas, & 1 alcoholic beverage was $140. However, it is at Disney and it’s buffet style and you get to see all the characters without waiting in some long line out on the heat. The food is good. All sorts of choices. Salads, meats, pastas, Mexican, kids station, desert bar. Very fresh and everything is clean. The bathrooms are nice and clean. It’s wheelchair assessable. Tables are close together and of course there are kids running all over the place and it’s loud, but that’s to be expected. Overall I would recommend going once. We probably won’t go back only due to the price and the chaos of the kids. It is on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Resort. We went the day before Easter, so the pictured egg is made of all pure chocolate and that was pretty cool.
We love Chef Mickey’s. The experience is totally worth it. The food is always on point. The management and the staff is always really helpful. They are a great help when we needed help with our allergies like lactose and also celiac disease. The character came to your table and they dance with our kids , they took pictures and they were always loving and kind. It is one of those experiences that everyone that comes to visit Disney must have. Totally worth it.
Review updated on 01/30/2024: Located at the Contemporary Resort. Valet and self parking on Hotel property available. Accessible parking, entrance, and bathrooms available. You will need to use elevators or escalators to get to the restaurant. Dress code is casual. Reservations highly recommended, if not required. Very busy restaurant with rare cancelations. For your convenience, you can make reservations online or using the Disney World App. There's also a cancelation policy. You may cancel or manage changes to reservations using the same methods previously mentioned. Reservation times available for breakfast and dinner. On the day of your reservation, you may check-in 20 minutes prior using the Disney World App or at the entrance of the restaurant. Once checked in, you will receive a text message to let you know when your table is ready. Once seated, be ready for a unique family experience where you get to meet Mickey and some of his best friends (Goofy, Donald, Minnie, & Pluto.) Unfortunately, we are told Daisy does not cook, so she doesn't visit this restaurant. During your time with the characters, you will be able to hug, take pictures and get autographs. I encourage everyone to sing, dance, and clap along while you are there. Sometimes you don't get to do things like these twice. This is an all you can eat buffet style restaurant. They have a wide variety of food items to choose from. Our family has been fortunate to experience both breakfast and dinner food options and there's something for everyone. There are so many options to choose from, everyone in your party will be happy (even the picky eaters). If there's a special celebration, you are able to add a cake (for an additional cost) when making your reservation. We had the white chocolate mickey shaped cake and it was a nice addition to our celebration. Overall, our experiences have been very positive. At the end of the day, this is Disney and they know how to make you feel special. I definitely recommend this restaurant to locals and visitors. Review is based on personal experience and items consumed during our visits. This review is not paid or sponsored.
Pricey but kids love it. Characters and staff are super friendly. Food quality is above average. Go for the character experience as I would not consider it a fine dining experience.
This was an awesome experience! All characters visit with you at your table. If you miss one, tell your server & they will bring that cast member back. Gotta try the hashbrown casserole!! The complimentary juice was amazing as well. Bloody mary wasn't right for me taste wise but presentation was on point.
Today we had the opportunity to have breakfast at Chefs Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. We were not impressed with the food but the experience of having breakfast with the characters was very good. Our server Gwen did an amazing job and took the time to have little conversations with us during our visit. My kids enjoyed this breakfast a lot and we got to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck.
Chef Mickeys was our first breakfast of the trip and it was good. Service was excellent, my cup was never half empty with Pog juice. My spouse has a gluten allergy so we were provided a gluten-free menu and the chef came to the table to verify the options and provided a plate with gluten-free waffles, doughnuts, and a muffin. The atmosphere was Disney esq, with Characters roaming around with the monorail zooming above. The meal was a full buffet and well worth the price. Must try on your stop at Disney World.
Chef Mickey is a fraud! While he POSES as a chef in his faux getup, Chef Toad is actually in the TRENCHES cooking up FIVE-STAR meals for his guests!!! He even lets you see him in action while you eat, PROVING that he is preparing the food with his own bare hands!! You got competition, Mick! Toad is the best chef in central Florida right now, and it's high time you step up to the plate and hit a grand slam real soon, or Toad is gonna run you out of business! Anyhoo, I'm still giving the Mick a five-star review, because he taught me how to cook on My Disney Kitchen back in the day. Granted, I am still upset at him and Minnie for half-eating the cakes I made for them and then leaving without helping me clean up, but I'll let it slide, because I now own a five-star restaurant of my own (a mom-and-pop startup known as "McDonald's"), and I couldn't have done it without Mickey allowing me to use his kitchen. So, thank you, Mickster. But don't get it twisted---if you're looking for mouth-watering, mind-melting, tastebud-tantalizing cuisine, CHEF TOAD IS YOUR MAN!
Great way tp see Mickey and Friends in 1 place. Each character spends a good amount of time at each table making for an amazing experience for little ones. Food is buffet style, kept fresh and very tasty. One of my favorite for the ambiance!
Chef Mickey's gets a lot of mixed reviews. I'm here to say we really enjoyed our visit. Out waitress was wicked nice, we had great character interactions, with staff making sure we didn't wait too long for charters and our breakfast was wicked good. We all enjoyed our food very much. Is it 5star dining? No it's Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs and biscuits with gravy. It's all good though. If you're going into this wanting anything other than a great Mickey waffle, this isn't the meal for you.
Located inside of Contemporary hotel. Make reservations in advance or try your luck at last minute walk ups because this is a popular character dining experience. I have returned to Chef Mickey's time and time again because it is my #1 favorite place on Disney property. I've been coming here for years to celebrate my birthday and to tag along with friends or family on vacation. This is a perfect spot to have some one on one time with each of your favorite characters including Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. They come directly to your table for photographs. Breakfast is my favorite here, but dinner is amazing as well. Plant-based options are there for Vegetarians and Vegan, as well as Gluten Free. Be sure to ask for the Chef though. I've made the mistake of not asking for a Chef way too many times at Disney locations and things go very wrong when you don't. Chef Don (who I understand has since moved to a different location) and Savage (I hope I got that right) are incredible! Aaron (Chef in training) and Will (Food and Beverage manager) are also amazing. This used to be buffet style, but has since changed to family style at the table. I personally prefer it this way. Be aware that the photos and information in this review is a sum of many visits so menu items could have changed.
We had dinner here our first night staying at The Contemporary. Everything was perfect. Each character visits the table and there are plenty of photo opportunities. The food is great and a wide variety. It's definitely a great way to start a Disney World vacation. We visited at dinner and everything was tasty, fresh and the servers and characters were all very friendly and high energy despite it being later in the day.
It’s a breakfast buffet style breakfast, in which I could say the food was great and fresh. Our server was very friendly and attentive towards us. The experience overall was amazing. We got to meet all the characters and they make sure you get to meet all of them before leaving. Will definitely be coming back!
The ultimate Disney dining experience—fun, food, and Mickey waffles! Chef Mickey’s is everything you want in a Disney meal and then some. From the moment you walk in, the energy is electric—like a party hosted by your favorite childhood icons (because it literally is). The buffet? Delicious and loaded with family-friendly favorites. From chicken to shrimp to buttered chicken! The Mickey waffles are a national treasure, the carved meats are juicy and flavorful, and don’t even get me started on the dessert bar—it’s a sugar-lover’s dream. But let’s be real: you’re here for the characters, and they do not disappoint. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto make the rounds like seasoned pros, giving hugs, posing for pictures, and making everyone—yes, even the grown-ups—grin from ear to ear. The atmosphere is lively, the service is great, and it’s one of the most magical ways to kick off a Disney day. Chef Mickey’s is a must-do for anyone who wants their breakfast with a side of pixie dust and a whole lot of heart.
Really great selection for brunch. The atmosphere is chaotic but fun, especially the pop up dance party. Each character visits the table and the kids had a great time. Only knock is we were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation, but otherwise the staff was great.
We had the absolute best time at Chef Mickey's. It was my family's first experience and we would highly recommend it to family and friends. The food was great for a buffet style. A variety of options and good quality. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. It was our first night using the dinning plan and our waitress took the time to walk us through what was included and how to use it in the future. Our kids (10&6) loved the character experience. They were interactive, funny, and patient. We had a great time!
We had dinner at Chef Mickey’s for the third time, and it was just as magical as ever. This time, we brought some out‑of‑town guests with us, and they absolutely loved it. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but truly worth every penny. I always think of this experience as a kind of dinner theater—there’s so much energy and fun happening around you. Even as adults, we appreciate the incredible attention to detail the characters bring to each table. They take their time, sign autographs, and pose for as many photos as you want. It makes the whole evening feel special and unforgettable. Chef Mickey’s remains an absolute must‑do in our books.
Food This venue offers a character buffet experience. Once you are seated and your drink orders have been taken, your server will inform you when you may proceed to the buffet. They aim to help you time your visits to ensure you do not miss any character interactions. The buffet circulates, so you might consider bypassing the initial selection and exploring the back for a less crowded experience. The food offerings are organized into several stations: an oatmeal station, a cold station featuring yogurt, fruit, and assorted cold meats and cheeses, and a hot station that includes Mickey waffles, eggs, various styles of potatoes, omelets, breakfast meats, as well as a selection of sweets and pastries. You are free to navigate between the sections that interest you most without waiting in line for the entire assortment. Service The characters effectively navigate the room, creating an engaging atmosphere. Utilizing video rather than still images enhances the experience by minimizing interruptions. Additionally, the wait staff are both helpful and friendly, readily providing food and drink recommendations as needed. Atmosphere This is a joyous yet lively experience characterized by the presence of numerous children, accompanied by music and dancing.
This place was a whole vibe! Even the sign in front creates excitement and expectation! They don’t let you down either. The environment was welcoming. Disney characters were everywhere! Chef Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, etc! They all greeted us, took pics, and danced with the children. The food was also amazing! Memories were definitely created!
The food wasn't too bad. Somethings I wasn't a fan of, but the character experience, music, and service made up for the minor setback. We all enjoyed the Mickey waffles and the hashbrowns were delicious. I was actually surprised by the beignets - being from New Orleans. They were pretty good but lacked the powdered sugar. Can't go wrong with bacon 😆 Our 2 year old ate for free. The best part was seeing her face when meeting everycharacter-as well as getting to dance with Minnie Mouse. Definitely worth the price!
Absolutely AMAZING!!! We got there and waiting 5 minutes for our table to be ready, and the service was perfect!! Our waiter Michael was very attentive and so nice! They made sure at the end we had a chance to meet each character & also Mickey took a second picture with us because my son wasn’t looking in the first one we took! They even had a dance party! The food was SOOOO GREAT!!!! we’re coming back again to try dinner next time 🙏🏻 thanks for such great service! Disney is the BEST!
We had an excellent late breakfast here. The server was a blast, the hostess who took us to our seats was exceptional and the food was better than we expected. Definitely a must do for the frequent Disney visitor. The characters were exceptional. They also did well with a gluten allergy.
Everything in here is just perfect! The food was amazing, they have options for everyone. The characters are so much fun, my daughter was lucky that it wasn’t busy when we were there and got a lot of attention while we were celebrating her birthday. Drinks for adults are great and the staff service is just amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this place! Thank you to every single employee in here for doing what you do. We appreciate it so very much!
Chef Mickey was our granddaughter’s favorite. The characters spent time and we had a dance party with Goofy. We went for breakfast. The buffet had a wide variety of offerings although typical Disney breakfast options (eggs, bacon, waffles, pastries, etc) which was great for us. We had memory maker for photos and a photographer was stationed right outside the restaurant as we left. Captured some fun shots. Every character made it to our table. It was a very busy time of year and the restaurant was packed. A few made it around twice.
We have always loved Chef Mickeys but this trip we were a little hesitant due to 4 of us having Celiac. We were pleasantly surprised at our experience and it was one of our favorite memories from the trip! Lercier was incredible and went above and beyond for us. We were completely safe, food was brought to use to ensure no cross contamination and everything was delicious!
It’s the perfect place to take your picture with the most popular characters of Disney, they walk around and greet every table. It’s a buffet with 80 different dishes to try, some are delicious but I wouldn’t said 5 stars. I witnessed some attitude from one of the hosts at the entrance but the other host was super nice and luckily, she was the one who greeted us at the restaurant, and the waitress that we had was awesome. Atmosphere is good, I would come back with family but not alone.
The employees are amazing, character dining was amazing, juat daisy was missing… each character came to the table… best first time experience for my babies… we dont stand in line at disney for characters so this was a great way for them to see their favorite characters in person with photos uninterrupted… The food has to be upgraded… pizza was too dry needs a little more dough and way more cheese so its not too dry…. You guys need quesadillas, tacos, arros con pollo, arepas, crepe 24-7, the shrimp was amazing, rice was dry from being there too long, the steak didnt look appetizing because its a cube shape as long as a salami, maybe change the menu around for dinner and keep everything that disappears fast so you dont throw away food at night… more revenue, less losses… if you come here, its more about the characters than the food because my babies didnt eat nothingggggggg i enjoyed dessert though amazing 💛💛💛💛💛 see u again in 6 months but only breakfast this time… PS CHEESEBUGERS is a WIN on the menu and animal nuggets… or disney nuggets that wouldve got my baby Celines attention….
Chef mickeys food was good and the service was great. We got to see ALL 5 OF THE CHARACTERS so atmosphere is 5 stars. All you can eat buffet is the style and has different cuisines such as Chinese Italian American and more. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time and decent food if going to Disney.
Super fun, but quite expensive... I understand you are paying for the experience and the characters, so for us it was worth it. Best buffet food we have ever eaten! And staff made sure every character visited our table before we left. If you can afford it, I totally recommend for great food, staff and photo opps if you didn't get them at the parks.
Is Chef Mickey's worth it. Maybe - you meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy and the food is all you can eat. The food is OK though and nothing exceptional. The price is HIGH. You definitely need to plan ahead and get a reservation early (like a few months before) if you want to go.
Very Disney - it was a noon reservation for breakfast- still plenty of food. It was good! Drinks marginal. Each character came to our table - i know they must have been BEAT!
Chef Mickey’s is a true Disney experience if you’re here for the characters. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy all came by and made sure to stop at every table, which really makes it worth it for families. The breakfast is buffet-style with good quality, similar to what you’d find on a cruise ship. If you’re going mainly for the characters, it’s absolutely worth it. But if character interaction isn’t important to you, there are other breakfast options on property that will give you better value for the money.
This was our kids favourite meal during our time at Disney. They loved the character interactions, and we were pretty fortunate with our table selection which appeared to be fairly central and regularly frequented by the characters. Make sure your kids bring a diary or the signature booklet (if you feel like paying for it) as the characters will gladly sign most of the items you request. The food was decent without being amazing, servers were attentive and were really good with our kids. It does get really busy at times and you will likely have to queue unless you make an early booking, and regarding bookings, make sure you book your slot as early as possible in order to avoid disappointment. We booked ours about 64 days in advance as we were staying at Contemporary, and some of the slots had already been taken. Price-wise, this is definitely premium dining at Disney so don't expect it to be anything less. I think it is worth it for a one off experience, but for regular dining it will definitely be more affordable to head next door to Contempo cafe.
Food was good and service was very good for a buffet. They are very organized and conscious of allergies. Ensure you let them know about any dietary restrictions. You are going for the experience and to give your kids the thrill of meeting a number of Disney characters, all of whom are accommodating about interacting with kids of any age 2-80+). However, be prepared for outrageous sticker shock, especially for a buffet. Six of us got out of there for about$500 with tax and tip. Reservations highly recommended.
We recently went to Chef Mickey’s for breakfast — our first time back in a while for breakfast— and we were quickly reminded why we haven’t been back sooner (again, for breakfast). While there’s a good variety of options, many of the items were overly greasy or lacked quality (the scrambled eggs were especially watery). I do have to say that the beignets were deliciousssss! That said, we really enjoy DINNER at Chef Mickey’s. The food at dinner time is much better — flavorful, fresh, and there’s something for everyone. Both meals are all-you-can-eat and you still get the fun character interactions, which make the experience special, especially for kids. Overall, dinner is where Chef Mickey’s really shines!
I think we need to remember that you are paying for the experience here more than anything. The food is fine. Not good, not bad. The character experience for us was so amazing, lots of time with each character. Please check your expectations of food quality when you choose any character dining. Would I go back? Yeah definitely.
Chef Mickey's is a long standing Character dining experience located in the heart of Disney's Contemporary Resort, featuring an AYCE buffet and character meet & greet. The service is pretty good, they seat you down quite quickly but there typically is high demand, so I'd wake up early to attend or book ahead of time. The food is alright, it is buffet quality food but there is a lot of options to eat and have for breakfast. The main purpose of the place is meet & greets, with many of the iconic Disney characters circulating around for photos. It is perfect for kids or a celebration that will brighten a child's day.
Some of the food tasted incredibly processed - like over sweet so you don't actually get flavors. I had a special diet, so I was fortunate to once again have Lectier (sp?) as my personal chef. I was fortunate to have had him cook for me back in 2019. He is so wonderful, and honestly, we've come back 2x for him and the characters. Although our boys were super excited to see Goofy, Pluto was the favorite this time. He seemed genuinely happy to see the baby's reaction.
This was a very expensive character breakfast. Magical for young children, but don't expect a long time with Mickey. You get enough time to take photos, a few hugs for the children and they are off to the next table. Food was hot but a bit of the salty side, I thought. Good selection but nothing amazing. Depending on where you sit you'll see the monorail run silently through the hotel. We had a 7:30 am reservation. We were seated quickly. We did valet parking at the contemporary for $45 and left the car there for the day while we went to the MK. I thought this was the best value for the day. The pictures are great but promoted to tip $50 for breakfast for 4 adults and a child seemed excessive. You decide.
Okay, so if you come with the kids (or not) to Disney and you desperately need to visit the gang Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto then come here one night for dinner or breakfast is really good too! We came here for dinner because my son really wanted to see them and we were not doing parks so this place worked out. It's a buffet style place, and there are plenty of options to choose from! The kids' buffet table is shorter, so that way they can independently grab their own plate! Oh, and the desert is SO good! No more ice cream, though! They do have a lot of staff to help, so that's a plus! I was shocked when I had gone into the bathroom, though, because it was filthy! They do make sure that before you leave that everyone in your party has met with the characters. The gang does come to the table one by one and visit to take pictures and give hugs !! So cute 😀😀😀🥰
I’d give this 5 stars, but they asked my girls what their ages were upon arriving. They answered honestly, 8 and 10. These girls are exactly the same size; people always think they’re twins. But the 10-yr-old was charged as an adult. $70 for a kid’s meal. The other child was approximately $40. I understand the extra fee for the amazing character experience. But $70 for a kid’s meal is ridiculous. Other than that, it was an amazing experience. The food and service were excellent. They just need to be up front about their fees. Surprises like that are not nice.
You’re essentially paying for the chance to take pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. The food is not worth the $60+ per adult they charge. While there’s a variety—pastas, salads, cold shrimp, cheese pizza, and pepperoni pizza—the quality doesn’t match the price. The dessert table is slightly more appealing, but still not enough to justify the cost.
Fun character breakfast for the family. Good variety of food including fresh fruit, pastries, smoked salmon, deviled eggs, typical breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc.), some heavier lunch dishes, a couple themed items (mini muffin with Mickey sprinkles and Mickey waffles), and more. Allergy friendly with an allergy menu that provides an overview of which dishes are safe for various allergies (i.e. nuts, gluten, egg, fish, shellfish, milk, sesame, and soy). Characters visit each table, interact with guests, and pose for pictures. They celebrate birthdays by bringing out a complimentary cupcake, lighting a candle, and leading the table to sing happy birthday to the birthday guest. Bathrooms are located within the restaurant which is convenient for little bladders. The women's bathrooms were well kept and include a little seating area.
Great experience for all fans! All characters came to visit all tables and attended to all celebrants and guest. Food was good but desserts were great! Some key entrees were a hit or miss with us. Steak should have had a few options vs just the medium rare. Pork was delicious with veggies. Salads were great! My kids loved the mini corn dogs. Staff were truly caring and attentive to all of our needs. I would return here for future plans with Disney!
This isn't a fancy restaurant or anything like that. On the contrary, it's quite simple; it looks like a food court. You definitely pay for the character experience. The food is a typical buffet, nothing extraordinary. It's true that if you go with people with average appetites, it's quite expensive at $70 for a plate of food. Now, if you go with people who really eat a lot, it might be worth the expense. In the end, we had a good time, but like I said, nothing extraordinary.
I was honestly a bit disappointed in this place for the price - $92 after tax per adult with DVC discount! I expected a nice meal, but it was a buffet with birds flying around the open food. Yuck. The room was noisy and loud and opened to the hotel and we could see all the balconies and people looking down at us. The food was all prepared well and was warm, but was still buffet food and tasted like it. I did however enjoy the desserts, especially the little cookies and cream pudding cup! The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and patient. The characters were fun and happily took photos with whomever wanted them and spent ample time at each table. I would only do this again for up close character meet and greets, otherwise wouldn't come here again.
Food options were great! We were stuck in a corner and couldn't see the characters coming (we like to prepare so we don't take too long). Very loud and chaotic for us, but I know some people love that. Enjoyed riding the Monorail to the Contemporary for it, though. Photo Pass photographer was outside the restaurant boundary, which was pretty neat. We will try other character dining options before going back here. O'Hana and 1900 Park Fare far outranked Chef Mickey's in our eyes. Character interactions were sweet.
So far, not good. We have a reservation and been waiting for almost 30 minutes now. Restaurant closes in about 50 minutes and we didn't even get seated yet. Update: We went to inquire about our wait time and got seated right away. But my point is: if you must place a reservation for lunch, dinner, brunch or whatever, they MUST honor your reservation time. Making a reservation only to arrive and wait another 30-45 minutes IS NOT OK. Food is surprisingly ok, considering this is very average buffet type of thing. Far from a great presentation and very far from an organized flow of people trying to get to the food. But again, the food is ok. Pancakes, waffles, etc, all well made. The servers are very friendly and the service is ok as well, they clean the table often and are fast for drink orders. The high point here is the Disney characters that come to the table for a hello and a picture! My daughter had a great time and we had fun! For a party of three, with coffee and orange juice for drinks, the check was 200 bucks with the gratuity.
Disney is really beginning to just be money hungry. $485 for 5 people (2 of which were children paying adult prices) to have a mediocre buffet with no drinks. I still tipped because the servers are not at fault. We’re FL residents and have had the annual pass. We were even here last month. We come to Disney all the time but we think this may be our last time for a while. Disney is magical. My $485 magically disappeared.
Really disappointed in Chef Mickey. We have been going for years and always had good experiences. This time paying for 4 adults. $350 The food for the price was severely disappointing. I've always loved the food but this time it wasn't good. The only thing we liked was the mashed potatoes and iced tea ;( for the amount of money we paid the food should be way better. Even the ice cream wasn't cold enough to Mae a cone when we were there. The character experience was good but we could have gotten that for free in the parks or on the cruise.
This place is definitely for the kids. Staff made sure all the cast members visited each table for the kids which was nice. When we were leaving, a staff member said "you guys are lucky you were able to see all the characters today"...why wouldn't I see all the characters for $80 / person? The bad thing was it looked very old and outdated, the food was not very good, some trays were empty (at a buffet), some of the food was cold and bland. It cost just over $80 / person, for food worth $15 / person. You are 100% paying to see characters, so if you want decent food, choose somewhere else.
Incredibly expensive at almost $60 for adults and $37 for young children. My 4 year old grandson only had a croissant and paid full price. Characters come by frequently but it’s a quick stop. Too many people in a cramped area. Service is not top notch. Seems like they want to get you in and out quick. I’ve been there a couple of times in past years and it was ok, but my most recent visit was by far not the best. This is most likely the last time I’ll go. I truly feel that the cost is abusively high for what you get.
The characters are great! But the dinner food is bottom barrel Golden Corral level slop. You aren’t paying for the food at all. On the other hand we had a great experience meeting the same characters at Hollywood and vine, and better costumes to boot. Really excellent breakfast spread there.
the dinner buffet is absolutely rubbish. it’s the kind of food you would find in the cafeteria of a rundown school. the characters were also not friendly and literally spent 1 minute at each table. in terms of the ambiance, i felt like i was in a cheap motel. don’t waste your money here, there are much better character dining experiences elsewhere.
I was really excited to eat at Chef Mickey’s, but unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointment. The food was honestly not good and definitely not worth the $70 price for adults. It felt like a standard buffet, and to be honest, places like Golden Corral offer better quality. The only enjoyable part was getting to see the characters. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here.
Food was okay but the character meet and greet was too fast and disappointing! We pay a lot of money and they come rush to your table take a quick picture with the kid, no interaction or anything. I have my child In a high chair and they only went to my older child. They come around once to your table for 5 seconds so good luck when choosing which interactive breakfast lunch and dinners you want to go to. Hollywood and Vine took their time and had great interaction coming here after there was a HUGE DIFFERENCE. I will no longer return to Chef Mickey
The food was all disgustingly cold. The restaurant had lost all its charm post-COVID. It tasted like my FREE breakfast at my hotel but cold. The characters waved hello, then left. 2 didn’t even come close to our table; we told the employee following them who did nothing not offer to take our picture (I thought that’s the point). Our ONLY FANTASTIC experience there was our waiter, Jen; she is the best!!! They need to bring back its charm: Brunch (not just breakfast at 12) Each character should have a staff member to take pics The napkin dance The yogurt machine And so much more pre Covid stuff Terrible experience for my entire party. My kid was thoroughly disappointed. The bill was $140 for two people for that horrible experience (besides Jen) no way! Do better Disney!

# Chef Mickey's: Una Experiencia Culinaria Mágica en Walt Disney World
