Tacompadre Tacos Chingones Ladera Ranch Reviews
I was so pleased with my visit here! The atmosphere is amazing and one of a kind I feel as if I stepped straight into a music video of one of the songs played over there sound system!! (Trust Me when I say that is a great feeling//like I'm the main character!)
Food was amazing!! Great service and very friendly staff. Perfect spot to eat at if you’re ever looking for a late night meal! Definitely a 10/10!
The food was hot and fresh. Birria queso tacos are packed with meat and cheese, but not to greasy.
Phenomenal tacos and pizza at this spot. I had chicken and pastor tacos and they were delicious. These are more street style and are packed with flavor. They have lots of options to choose from. I also grabbed a pizza and was so surprised it was also 10/10. Service here was really good. The owner gave me some recommendations, and I'm glad I listened. Will def come back for more.
Great service awesome food!! I love the Mexico City style food they have. My favorite was Al Pastor. I had a burrito very tasty. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Aguas frescas and deserts as well. Open from 10am to 10pm !! Will definitely come back. Thanks compadre.!!
Tacompadre in Santa Ana is a total winner! Let me tell you, their quesabirria tacos are the stuff dreams are made of. The birria is melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and they don't skimp on the filling. But the real star is the crunchy flour tortilla. It's the perfect balance of texture to the juicy goodness inside. Looking for something a little different? The suadero alambre is a must-try. The suadero (skirt steak) is cooked to perfection, and the whole thing is overflowing with melty cheese. They don't forget the veggies either, which adds a nice freshness to the dish. And to top it all off, don't miss the chocoflan. It's the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Creamy chocolate meets decadent flan in this delightful dessert. Overall, Tacompadre is a hidden gem in Santa Ana. Amazing food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!
Great tacos! Especially loved the condiments available (grilled peppers, onions, salsas, etc). Favorite part was the grilled onions. They definitely use a magic sauce or something because I’ve never had onions that tasted so good!!
Second time here first time trying the alambre ! It’s like fajitas but better because they add bacon and cheese. Love their homemade blue corn tortilla ! Service is always great and food is fresh . Highly recommend this taco spot
This pizza + tacos place is always spot on. The cheese is extremely stringy and good and you can't go wrong . It's located in the heart of Santa Ana . Good Food . I hope everyone enjoys their time here.
Holy crap!!! The Horchata here is fire!!! Like whoa. Authentic Mexican flavor. And yes the food slaps too!

Great Taco place. Perfect for Taco Tuesdays with the family, very affordable with an arcade on the 2nd floor. They also have karaoke 6-10pm on Taco Tuesday. P.s. there's a hidden Tiki Bar behind the Bamboo wall on the 1st floor for adults only. Small maybe 16 person bar, but they have amazing drinks. Like ALL of them. Ask about the stampcard for returning customers. They give you a free tiki mug for trying all their drinks!!!!
Tacos are good, big portion, lots of meat.
The food was great! The hospitality they showed is incomparable to any other restaurant! Five stars for sure.!
Man I love this place! Shredded chicken- amazing! Birria-astounding! Saudero- best I’ve had. My wife- “that’s so much food. You don’t have to finish it all” Me- “are you kidding? I can’t wait to finish this all!”
The place is always open late, extra friendly service, yummy food and did I mention, the ambiance is hipster vibes mixed with a chill crowd. Love it! Plenty of seating too!
TACOMPADRE are the best tacos we have ever had, the flavor of each of its different meats is unmatched and is perfectly complemented by its variety of sauces that they offer, in addition to that, the excellent service of its owners.
The flan is soooooo goood! Love coming here with friends to enjoy the delicious food and the atmosphere. The staff is amazing and super kind!!
This place was absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed the size of the food and the overall experience! The staff was very friendly and very helpful! I’m looking forward to coming to eat here soon!
Decided to give this place a go and I was honestly blown away. The food here is really good and the owner is a really friendly person. Good service... Best tacos de suadero in the game not going to lie.
Fantastic pizza. Great pepperoni. Great sausage. Lots of sauce. Thin crust. Bravo.
This business took me back to my childhood, Ciudad de Mexico. Thank you for that!! I definitely recommend this place 100%
Had the loaded asada fries and they were delicious. They have a salsa bar with a black salsa that is so good.
Great food I got the Alfredo pizza, now let me tell you I felt high after my first bite it was fantastic, big plus there was a live jazz band playing when I was there super cool!
Good food and nice service.
Jermaine was the boss. Best food, the queso tacos were amazing
Excellent lunch experience today stopped by looking for Mexican food! I loved this restaurant has a hand wash station. So nice, clean and beautiful!!!!
Tasty food and they got jarritos
Good Suadero is so hard to find!! I love it here! I get it every time. Also try their Birria with the consume! Bomb!!
Very nice restaurant. Exceptional service! Nice for a reunion, the people are very welcoming! Will definitely be coming back soon
Came with the team for lunch. Awesome place. The owner Jermaine took care of us really well. The wings were excellentz
First time I came and I'm planning on coming back for sure, their food is really good and the service is excellent.
Awesome place , great service and delicious food, the place got a cool vibe too!
Great spot for a quick bite or if you want to get a drink after.
Came with the family and the food is fantastic! Great flavor, great service, great salsa - definitely recommended!
Comfy place, amazing food, and kind staff… the lady who took our order was so helpful and sweet, thank you so much! We had pastor and birria tacos and just wish this place existed back home — definitely try it out!
If you wanna talk about hustle and great customer service, lets talk about Tacompadre. Jermaine, the owner, is a phenomenal worker who takes pride in his job and the community. He takes the time going over the menu with you and helping out newcomers feel welcome. Although it is difficult to find at first, the hospitality and cleanliness brings you in to a zone of comfort. Let me say that again CLEANLINESS!!! The room is a great place to relax with friends and family, especially with the arcade they have as well. I will continue to come back and show love to the company who does the same to each customer.
Honestly the BEST tacos I've had! Their suadero and birria, are two of my absolute favorites. Love coming here for a quiet lunch with great service.. thank you!
Ordered a margherita pizza on accident instead of a pepperoni and it was so good didn’t have to worry about it. The mango habanero wings were flavored with plenty of heat and really good. Will definitely come back when we are in the area.
Friendly staff and so many fire selections on the menu! Would def come back!
During a leisurely wait for the Stussy Archive store to open in Orange County, we stumbled upon Tacompadre and what a delightful surprise it was! The 'Alambre' was a revelation, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the tacos were nothing short of a flavor fiesta. Their chips and guacamole? Simply out of this world. The serving sizes were incredibly generous, making it a 20/10 experience. And oh, the salsa bar! It's a must-try. Tacompadre isn't just a meal, it's a culinary adventure. Highly recommend!
Tacocompadre is in the heart of Santa Ana underneath an old school arcade and has some of the best Mexican food in town. The food is always made fresh to order, and super hot. All the meat, including my favorite, Suadero, is the best I’ve had in socal. The service is great and Germaine is always there to offer good suggestions and the best service. They also have a detached salsa bar with green, red, and spicy salsas, the verde is the BEST! They have grilled onions and pickled onions. Highly recommend the quesadilla or the queso taco, the white melted cheese melts in your mouth. 5/5
Excellent service! We are a big group and even though they weren't providing service yet, they let us inside to sit while we waited. Then they attended us briefly and with outstanding service. The tacos are big and the tortilla is delicious. We hope to come back soon!!
I was born in Mexico City I never taste any flavor similar in the USA 🇺🇸 😋 But the food right here is bomb!! The best flavor Ever I feel sorry because I live in Sacramento and this location is in Santa Ana but definitely I will comeback as soon as I can. So in Love 🥰 😍 ❤️ with this place. So Glad 😊 😃 that I found this place. Give him a try you won't regret 😉
All the tacos were delicious, especially suadero, pastor and birria. Really nice that they give you birria consomme on the side. The salsas were fantastic, especially loved the spicy pineapple. And the owners are really nice and friendly. A real gem.
I love coming out to Tacompadre OC por los de asada y suadero. The suadero is juicy af so those go down first. The salsas and sides for tacos are a tu gusto. The soda selection is good….i go for sidral. I usually come thru on Tuesday for the special on tacos and my drink. I sit at the wood tables then dip happy af
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tacompadre in Santa Ana, and I can't stop thinking about the delicious tacos and nacho fries. This hidden gem is a true delight for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Mexican street food. The star of the show was undeniably the tacos. Bursting with flavor and made with high-quality ingredients, they definitely reminded me of delicious tacos from Mexico City. From the succulent carne asada to the flavorful al pastor, each taco was a testament to Tacompadre's commitment to authenticity. The nacho fries were a delightful surprise and a perfect accompaniment to the tacos. I chose pastor as my meat of choice and they were they were topped with cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. The combination of textures and flavors was a party in my mouth, leaving me craving more. What sets Tacompadre apart is not just the exceptional food but also the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive dining experience. The restaurant's dedication to authenticity shines through in every aspect, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking genuine Mexico City street food in Santa Ana. Tacompadre has earned its spot as one of my go-to place for fresh and great tasting tacos in Santa Ana . If you're a taco enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates delicious, well-crafted food, do yourself a favor and pay a visit. Your taste buds will thank you!
Omgosh, the food was absolutely delicious! Ordered a quesabirria and nacho fries with birria. I cannot tell you enough just how savory and juicy everything was. Definitely going back because it's almost rare to find a place that has actual great Mexican food.
If you live in Santa Ana and have no tried this spot yet, then let me tell you that you're missing out 😉. My first time experience was super chill, they give great customer service and the TAcOS are to die for !!! I ordered three tacos and was surprised and joyous when I saw that my plate came with a side of beans and rice plus the salsa bar has my mouth watering on the spot ! Lol come and explore downtown Santa Ana it's where all the good vibes happen !
This place is incredible!! Food is really well priced and is incredible quality, the ambiance was great and the service was great too!! Definitely recommend
We had ordered some food from here through GrubHub and GrubHub had some issues. The owner called us personally to help us with our order. I can honestly that I was beyond impressed with their services they went above and beyond to get the food to us. The good itself was incredible, the salsas actually had flavor not to spicy not too bland. I had the suadero burrito, amazing! Not greasy and certainly tasty. The cochinita pibil, foodgasmic!!! Everything was perfect and done as it should be. Thank your Germaine for the service you and your team executed. I/we will be back for more.
Tasty spot for some Mexican food we found while visiting. Fun environment and the staff was friendly. The carne asada nachos were so good and their guac is really good too!
The best Suadero Tacos in Town. All their food is delicious! They have something for everyone from Tacos to Nacho lovers! Great Customer Service! Also, don't forget to try their Arroz Con Leche (Rice Pudding) for dessert it is so yummy!
I very much enjoy ordering my tacos first, then bring back a beer from upstairs. Beer & tacos ready at the same time. Besides a short menu with other Mexican dishes, one can choose to get something from the pizza place at the next counter. The upstairs bar ("Mission Control") has pinball and acade games for after the meal entertainment. TacoCompadre is inside McFadden Market which is an interesting place for small groups to enjoy.
The service and the food is really good. If you are ever in downtown Santa Ana you should definitely check this place out.
Got tacos, 1 asada, 1 Al pastor, and 1 chorizo my son got a burrito both 🤪 so good. Their horchata water was bomb and we also tried their flan for dessert.
The chorizo tacos were some of the best around this area, the pastor tacos we're good too. For what you pay you get a good portion and good food. I would also recommend the piña/mango Agua Fresca it's refreshing. All the salsas are great!
Super nice people and great food will come back soon:)
Service was great, the food looks delicious and very clean. I recommend 😁
They were really nice and helpful . Pizza here is delicious
The food was delicious. The tacos are packed with meat. The chips freshly made and their red salsa really hit the spot. Will definitely come back.
Ordered the Birria taco’s twice today, amazing food and service was great. Coming from The Netherlands.
Wow! #Tacompadre definitely the best tacos in the OC. Suadero was juicy, birria was flavorful, cochinito Pibil was off the hook!! The extra spicy salsa was my favorite. Come try this if you haven’t already. Arcade room up stairs for the kiddos is super cool. Definitely recommend this place and they sell pizza too!
I've driven past this place a million times, but a TikTok video finally convinced me to stop, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint! Ignore the negativity; seriously, some of those low ratings must be from people who've never had great food. I went all in on the Asada Nachos and a couple of Pastor Tacos, and every bite was pure magic. You can instantly taste the commitment to fresh, real ingredients. The salsa bar is a game-changer; loading up my plate with all the fresh fixings was a massive win. This is the taste of Mexico City right here. So glad I finally discovered this hidden gem!
This my 10 time coming to this place. It has the customer service. The food is really delicious and has a to choose from! I recommend coming here if your ever in the area of Downtown Santa Ana.
This place is a gem! We enjoyed the ambience and the food hit home. We ordered birria tacos and carne asada with fajitas. Everything was delightful. Service was fast. Customer service was amazing!
This taco spot seriously exceeded my expectations. The tacos are packed with flavor, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and high quality. They have an amazing variety of meats to choose from, all perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. Whether you like something classic or want to try something different, there’s definitely something for everyone.

Tables were extremely sticky, so that would as gross. Not impressed with the cafeteria like seating. Felt like fast food with strobe lights. I liked that they had sinks outside in the eating area as this food was greasy and messy to eat.
Tacompadre is a great new added gem to the Taco scene in the city of Santa Ana! The shop specializes in Mexico City inspired Tacos. During my visit I tried out the the chicken alambre, since this is not a common dish served in the area. The alambre was quite tasty and generous in portion! I hope everyone can go out and support local small businesses like Tacompadre in our community!

Great food. The quesabirria tacos, the nachos, the quesadillas, the salsas-everything. They have suadero too! The tortillas are homemade flour torts and are top shelf.
This place is clutch, especially when you're drinking around town or upstairs at Mission control. Tacos are tasty and decently priced. :) asada for the win!
Came here for a pre-tiki bar meal and it was delicious and the perfect appetite whetter.
I don’t normally post bad reviews but this food was very disappointing. I saw a tiktok about this place and then read a bunch of good reviews and was so excited to try the food. The birria is what I recommend if you’re trying this place although it was overly salty. The carne asada was so chewy and so plain. The burrito was very plain in flavor. The arroz con leche was not good. The churro cake thing was good but the picture posted by the owner is misleading.

Had the carne asada tacos , birria quesadilla and the chocolate flan. The tacos looked about as good as I would get at a supermarket the choco Flan was dry. The quesadilla had some redeeming qualities and good taste and flavorful consume. I'll post pictures to show you what the tacos should look like and what they actually look like.

I went on a Saturday, inside this structure there are several locations, and that seems very good to me, since in one place you have options of more restaurants. It reminds me of the markets in Mexico. That day the person who takes the orders was not there, so I had to wait for me to order. It took me 30 or 40 minutes to be able to take my order and give it to me to go. The orders come with rice and beans, the truth is that I only wanted the tacos. There are many areas of opportunity to improve this place, there should be someone serving if they do not want the customers to go to the store on the side or in front of them, for the price of the tacos I expected better quality of the meat, these had fat, I asked for the orders separated, and they did not put them as I asked, so I ate the mixed tacos at home, they did not take the precaution of separating the orders. This is why I got my score, I hope they improve.
Disappointed with this place despite having a bunch of good reviews. Atmosphere was ok service was ok. However the food was not great at all. On top of that it was pretty expensive i think we spent like $86 in total. Group of 5 came in to get food and try out a new spot. Food looked good on the menu and online but once we got our orders it wasn't looking good. Beans looks dry and grayish in color. Rice looked dry as well. All of our plates were served cold except for the alambre plate. All of our taco and burrito plates were cold. Asada tasted like soy kinda, pastor was salty and greasy. Torilla chips were way too salty too. Cochinita tacos were ok bot the best. Overall, had a bad first time experience being the Food was cold and super greasy. Don't think we'll go back to the restaurant.
I ordered chicken fries online that stated the chicken was grilled, but it’s literally boiled shredded chicken, what a disappointment. I don’t like boiled chicken and had to throw the fries away. Change the description to match what you offer!
The food here was super mid. Ordered burritos. Way too much beans, little meat and lacked depth in flavor. Just my take on it and only based on their burritos and not their entire menu.
No idea why place is rated so high. If you want Midwest style Mexican in Santa Ana go here. You will be transported to a landlocked state. Tacos were bland and look nothing like their reference photos. Got two taco plates and the fries. Everything was very watery and unseasoned. Beans had no flavor and rice was super salty, no flavor. We got the birria, sweet pulled pork, carne asada, fried brisket. All of it was under seasoned and disappointing. They also messed up our taco order, but we couldn’t tell which was supposed to be which because flavors were so not distinctive and bland. Two star because they do have a salsa bar with good pickle pineapple and mole salsa. Fries were soggy and watery tasting from bad beans and gross nacho cheese. Bad ratio of fries and meat. You can get better elsewhere.

The quality and flavor of the food was not very good. Almost $4 for each taco and an $11 quesadilla. We couldn’t even finish it between 2 people because it just didn’t taste good. For those prices the quality of food must be much better. Save your money and go elsewhere much better and cheaper options in Santa Ana, I don’t think I will return to this spot!
Sadly disappointing w all the good reviews on here and help- Carne asada was a cold temperature and was doused in soy sauce like flavor (🤔) We couldn’t finish them. The queso tacos were good. A bit worried about eating meat that wasn’t at the proper temp. Rice and beans also not hot. After the fact found a review saying same re temp from awhile back. Please do make sure for food is safe, understand some restaurants may be just off the mark but temperature is just plain food safety! Very nice staff and nice atmosphere, so hope they turn things around!
I ordered the tacos; birria, asada, and cochinita meat with rice and beans. My kids got the asada fries. Spend about 60 bucks and the food was gross. Beans tastes like canned rosarita beans. Yuk! Rice was okay. Tortillas were soggy and hard at the edges, cochinita meat was really salty, birria has a very strong flavor of, im assuming, bay leaves. We all ended up only eating half of our plate. We also got Jamaica which was really bitter and not very sweet and horchata which wasn't great but not the worse. We will not be coming back. Service was okay so no issues there but the food was not good.
Food served wasn't as presented on their site. Asada was completely dry and no flavor, tortilla didn't taste homemade, beans were watered down and rice was overly salty.
I have searched high and low all over LA and OC for the perfect BIRRIA hi bowl and guess what? GOD SAVED MY SANITY AND GAVE TO THE WORLD "TACOMPADRE"! I JUST TRIED IT 2 HRS ago it's the Best in the World..... Steevo, KILLER COUNTRY BAND Check out my new release "Hot Tamale"......
Worst tacos I have ever eaten. You can find street tacos that are better quality. What makes it worse is that the company's advertisement leads one to believe that the tacos appear to be good. Chicken tacos were bland, appeared to be boiled, and the carnitas taco had a nasty marinate. The only good thing about my meal was the canned Coke.
Food is all hype from tik Tok, got a burrito with more beans and rice then meat. An alambre with more bell peppers than meat.. wings were ok and pizza was good.. register guy had no patience and was rude with a bad stare like if he wanted us to leave. At the end we also had to pick up our own food from the counter while a waiter served food a guy that was next to us?? Vip I guess?? Upstairs was the center of attraction it seems..
Not sure why the high ratings. But this place lacks flavor and the meat was not good. I ordered. A taco, burrito, asada fries, and a queso taco. This place comes across as doing something new and innovative but it’s basic. The meat was gummy and not edible there was a huge piece of meat on top of the asada fries but it was so gummy that I couldn’t swallow it down. A lot of it was like that. The Queso Taco was the worst I’ve ever had. It’s not to go friendly because you basically have to add all the items you want on the food before you leave. They only had the salsa cups and no small bags. For such a pricey cost for the food they should have pre-prepared bags and Salsas. I only kind of liked 1 salsa. This to me is lazy service here is a gummy meat taco with a dried tortilla now go put the ingredients you want. If they had the bags then they were out and I couldn’t ask the person behind the counter as they were too busy talking about how great their menu is and what they will be doing next. I really wanted to like it but this is a no go place for me. I couldn’t find a redeeming quality.
