Tip: Try the Ube French toast, but be aware that the restaurant can be very busy on weekends, so expect a wait.
I have been to the Newport location a number of times and was excited another opened so close. This place has an incredible brunch, and though there is generally a wait, it's well worth it. Brought my family and every one of them enjoyed it. Food and drink are 10/10 just as the original location. Staff is incredibly helpful and go above and beyond despite how busy it gets. Atmosphere is pleasant, no loud music and didn't have to yell to speak to each other.
Ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! The egg was wonderfully soft and fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. The matcha latte was pretty good, not my favorite, but still delicious. Perfect brunch spot!
Attended this afternoon for a lunch meeting. My avocado with grilled chicken Sakad was delicious. The pomegranate with baby kale mix was perfect with a sweet and tangy taste. I recommend Toast Kitchen as the food was delicious and the hostess was polite.. I am looking forward to returning for dinner.
Beautifully presented food and unique menu. Perfect for meetups - I was impressed with everything here. The acai bowl even had flower petals! My Thai Chile Chilaquiles was quite tasty with delicious pork and a good helping overall. My wife's soba noodle salad was light and fresh. The chocolate short stack ended up being huge! It was a bit too plain /sweet for our taste.
Met a few friends here because it’s a good middle spot for everyone and so glad we chose here. Everything was delicious, but the ube French toast and sisig burrito were fantastic! I also tried the hot chicken and cheddar herb biscuits and the chicken was so tender and crispy, with a little kick - it was perfection. The serving size was massive too - it fed me twice and my husband too lol. I probably wouldn’t get the passion fruit soda again and would do a cocktail instead (it was good but a little pricey for what it was). Their pies also looked great too! The only con was the wait time was over an hour on a Saturday morning, but it was worth the wait!
My first time here to try their brunch. Ordered the Ube French toast and Breakfast burrito. The Ube French toast is so delicious. The Ube whipped cream on top and the Ube cream are so good and not too sweet. I didn't even need to use/pour syrup. The toast along with the Ube cream are so perfect together. Breakfast burrito is yummy. It has thick bacon, egg, chorizo and tater tots inside. It's very flavorful and filling. It came with a spicy sauce that paired so well with the burrito. These two are a must order items. The indoor is nice and airy and it also has an outdoor patio as well. Definitely a try if you are in Tustin area.
We went to Toast for brunch today and were very happy with the food. We got the ube French toast and chicken and waffles and both were delicious. Justin our server was super friendly and helpful, and the food came out quickly even though it was busy. I would definitely order the ube French toast again! We got the cucumber chia limeade as well. It was ok, but I would probably try something different next time. One downside is be prepared for a wait. We got a seat at the bar at 10:30 am on a Friday, but by the time we got drinks there was a line out the door.
I love this place. I like to go to the one in Brea when I’m near the beach, but I’m glad this one is closer to me. The food is simply amazing and the atmosphere is laidback and quiet. Definitely a great place to have a nice brunch.
This is my first time eating at Toast Kitchen & Bakery. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my mom ordered the Soba noodle salad. My sandwich was very tasty. The eggs were fluffy and perfectly seasoned. I recommend this sandwich for egg and cheese lovers. I also loved the brioche bun they used. I tasted my mom’s Soba noodles. Hers needed salt and pepper. But other than that, it was good.
Incredible place for brunch. The menu is always a delight to go through. Very happy to have a location nearby as I used to go to the costa mesa location a lot. Definitely a must try if you're in the area when it's open.

I love, love, love their avocado toast. I wouldn't dream of ordering it without a poached egg on top. I have tried it elsewhere and it rarely compares. Ignore the other reviews about it. You won't be sorry!
Fantastic breakfast / brunch with friends! The location is great.
Great food. I just hate that they no longer serve chilaquiles.
Bit pricey. Soba noodle salad is great!
They have the best pies. Especially the blueberry.
Awesome food and awesome Service!!
Best avacado toast anywhere in Tustin!
We were looking somewhere that we can bring our dogs where one has difficulties walking and we use a cart to bring him around. Toast was a great and convenient place to go for this! The outdoor seating was perfect for this as they had large umbrellas to use as shade and the spacing between tables was spacious enough for the cart. The staff was great and super nice, they even brought out a water bowl for the dogs! Onto the food! I have been to the Costa Mesa location, and was excited to hear a closer one opened near me. I really enjoyed the food at the CM one, and the Tustin location did not disappoint my craving. The food is consistent at both locations, all wonderfully cooked with fairly large portions. Ube Toast- It was cooked perfectly, a good balance of sweetness and tart (with the blueberries and sauce). It was battered/coated with egg as well. Pork Belly Rice- this dish was delicious but for me the pork belly was just a tad too oily where the oil stayed on the tongue. If you eat it with the achara, it balanced it well, but wished there was more of it! Cubano Sandwich- this was a classic version of the sandwich where it came with plantain chips instead of fries. The plantain had a great balance to the sandwich with its hint of sweetness.
Wonderful place with friendly, helpful, and engaging staff. Great vibe with a good range of breakfast, lunch, and desserts. (Oh, the pies!) Juno and Onna were fantastic! Will definitely be back.
Went for lunch today. Had never heard of this spot before and was pleasantly surprised. Was greeted inside by a woman who sat us immediately. The inside was completely packed, so we sat outside. I was amazed by the fun nonalcoholic drink options as well as the adult beverages! I ordered the chia limeade and thought it was delicious. For food we ordered the ube French toast to share and I could have eaten 10 plates just by myself. The flavor combinations as well as texture combination was spectacular. I order the Thai Chilaqueles after a long period of not know what to pick off of their menu. The Chilaqueles were so packed full of flavor and the chips were still crispy. We ordered so many other great menu items. We had a wonderful time there. We enjoyed their food and the company. The patio ambiance was underwhelming which is why I put 4 stars instead of 5. It wasn't anything terrible but not 5 stars worth. Nothing about the ambiance outside stood out yet nothing was terrible.
New to the area and I had been anxious to try! I finally made my way to Toast Kitchen & Bakery and I am so glad I did!! I stopped by on a Tuesday for brunch. We came in hungry for some tasty food and we left with a smile on our faces!! The inside was clean and there was plenty of seating inside and there is even outdoor area. We sat inside (it was a cold day in Cali 64' lol) On to the good part... Food: we tried the much anticipated Ube French Toast and my gosh is it a sight to see the colors are mesmerizing and the flavor was just right! I ordered the Orange Chicken salad (trying to be good lol) I was not disappointed one bit. I was a bit afraid he orange chicken would be to "orangey" (tangy and over powering of orange flavor) but I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. Best for last, the Pork Belly Rice bowl... WOW! packed with flavor and the tenderness was unreal! You know your girl had to try a cocktail! Drinks: Ly-Gee &T cocktail was refreshing and on the sweeter side I absolutely loved it! Tried the Cappuccino and the flavor was great the only let down was the foamy milk design was not there :( final drink was a hit as well the Cucumber Chia Seed Limeade yum! Ratings: Ube French Toast: 10/10 Orange Chicken Salad: 7/10 Pork Belly Rice Bowl: 10/10 Ly-Gee & T: 9/10 Cappuccino: 8/10 Cucumber Chia Seed Limeade: 8/10
Great pizza and excellent quality overall.
I came here for brunch on a Sunday and ordered the tres leches french toast and a yuzu lemonade, everything was so tasty and the portions were just the right size. The staff took care of us and were so friendly I will definitely love to come back soon and highly recommend Toast
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Crowded and popular. Menu does rotate. Creative options. Has adult drinks! Patio is closed during winter which is kind of a bummer in so cal.
Owner chatted with us, very pleasant and kind
Very friendly and attentive staff.
Great spot for brunch but man is it BUSY! love their chilaquiles. Also enjoy their coffees quite a bit.
Food and drinks are amazing, we ordered the pork belly rice bowl (crispy pork belly with garlic butter rice 🤤, sisig burrito, yuzu lemonade, and cucumber chia seed lemonade with a side of fries. I can't wait to come back
Best chilaquiles ever! Was a little spicy but all of the flavors went so well together! Very filling!
Everything was great! Ube waffles, chicken and waffles and the BURRITO were super good. Good service too
Nice brunch place with indoor or outdoor seating. Food was good.
The Churro French Toast and Uber French Toast tasted great. Wait staff are friendly and attentive.
Amazing place for brunch. Their food and service will leave you beyond happy!
OMG! Great find. The owner Mimi, is so kind and friendly. They're good looks and tastes Soo good. Can't wait to come back again.
Staff is friendly and attentive the owner Naomi was the kindest person I ever met she made us feel so welcome, now on to the food. The the green goddess salad was Devine with its accents of fennel and apple the chef makes the dressing from scratch. We ordered two pork belly entrée one was the pork belly banh mi and the other was sisig burrito the one we like the best by just a smudge was the burrito it was packed with so much flavor the egg was dripping it was the perfect amount of everything. The banh mi had was a exactly what he expected thats why why the burrito won becuase it was just different. We also ordered two bloody Mary's made with sake it was better than traditional liquor. We end the meal with the ube coconut cream pie not too sweet but perfect. We will definitely be coming back as one of my favorite places to eat!!
Nice little kitchen right here. VERY friendly and helpful staff.. Exceptional chicken and waffles 🧇 🧇 🧇 Yum..
Our group of 8 enjoyed our meal at Toast Bakery, especially the juicy chicken. The outdoor seating was a plus. The ube French toast was very sweet, perhaps a bit too much, but still enjoyable. A solid choice for a group brunch.
The food was great and portions were generous. Prices were lower than expected for a bunch place these days. Food was hot and fresh. Service was quick and friendly. A great/better alternative to other nearby brunch places!
Huge improvement from last year (except lemonades, don't waste money). We got ube freanch toast, breakfast sandwich and chiliaquili - all amazing! Special note to ube latte, I am lucky I don't live next to it, otherwise I would spend ton a ton on that latte every day :)
Industrial and yet cozy. Decor is open and airy. Really nice atmosphere. The service was great. This place is popular so expect a wait. It is worth it. We had the chicken and waffles, Ube french toast, pork belly bowl, and breakfast burrito. The French toast was amazingly hood. Sweet but not overly sweet. Delicate and light ube whipped cream with blueberries was perfection! The breakfast bacon burrito with avocado salsa was great. The pork belly bowl reminded me a bit like lechon. The sweet radish was a nice contrast to the savory bowl which was nicely tied together by the over easy egg. The chicken and waffles was the only dish that I can do without. While the waffles were delicious, crisp yet soft and a light hint of sweetness to them. The chicken was perfectly fried but lacked a little flavor beyond the skin. Maybe brining the chicken would help. Overall our meal was delicious and had me wanting to come back to try the rest of their menu in the near future. Great spot for breakfast or brunch! I'm just sad I haven't come here sooner!
I rarely leave reviews for any restuarant, but this place by FAR had the best fried chicken I've ever had. The pies are insanely good to. If you live in Orange County make sure to put this spot on your "restuarants-to-try" list.
This was my first time at Toast and I have to say that everything was top notch. The owners came and greeted us and told us about their pies and the inspiration behind their food! The pork belly bowl was great and the ube French toast was definitely a hit with our group. And we couldn’t leave without trying the pies. We got the ube coconut pie and the mango sticky rice pie! We’ll definitely be back and I recommend everyone to go try out Toast!

This restaurant is very busy during weekends. Be prepared to wait for 30+ min. We tried their ube french toast, grilled avocado salad (added grilled chicken) and pork belly rice bowl. We loved the french toast, the ube pastry cream was rich and we definitely tasted ube! Blueberries made it look pretty and refreshing. Salad was fresh and I am thankful that they can add grilled chicken to it (grilled chicken was not listed in the addition menu, but they made it work). Their grilled chicken was very tasty - not an average one. Loved it a lot! Their pork belly rice bowl was OK. Grilled bok choy was crunchy but a bit more 'grassy' as compared to other preparation methods.
This is a pretty nice breakfast and brunch place with good food. The staff is friendly and professional, and very attentive! The coffee is excellent. Try their Ube French toast… it is fantastic! Not too sweet, and very tasty with fresh blueberries and a wonderful ube (sweet potato) spread. Delicious! I would definitely come back if I’m in the area. I do think there are better places, but I would not turn down an opportunity to come here.
Had the Ube french toast which was good but was almost overpowered by the amount of ube cream used and really should have come with a side of meat or fruit for the price. Limited menu.

The hot chicken and waffles are delicious! Unfortunately, it seems like they have gradually gotten spicier over time and today it was too spicy to eat. Still the regular chicken and waffles are great- just not as flavorful. An in between (mildly spicy) would be great!
I enjoyed the experience. 45 minute wait on a Sunday for breakfast. Not unusual. Atmosphere is clean, loud, and full of conversation. Nice decor
A step down from the Newport location but food was satisfying. Just didn’t have all the pies and deserts like the other location. But still good
Not thrilled with tables and chairs. Food was excellent and coffee good.
Came here thinking it was a breakfast place. They do have breakfast, but fairly limited. Had the pancakes and the breakfast sandwich. Both were good. They have a full bar so adding a bloody was a bonus
To each their own, but this restaurant was just too loud for my personal taste. We ended up eating outside because it was more quiet, even though it was a tiny bit on the warm side. Their patio is very nice. We all liked their food, I thought it was a little pricey for the portion size, but it was good. They have a location in Brea which I like much, much better.
A get-together with friends. A decent smashed burger but I was sad they were out of the tuna melt. Great service.
I'm so excited to share that I just had my very first visit to Toast Kitchen & Bakery! I decided to go with the breakfast sandwich, and oh boy, it was super delicious! The eggs were wonderfully fluffy and perfectly seasoned. If you love eggs and cheese, you've got to try this sandwich! And let me tell you, the brioche bun was simply delightful!

I've gone here a few times and always had a great experience until I went in October and their menu has changed. They seemed to have changed a lot of their core menu items and the quality has definitely been downgraded. The fries used to be perfectly seasoned and crunchy and now they switched to unseasoned crinkle cut fries. It's still better than your run of the mill breakfast place but it used to be much better!
We were welcome and seated , the waiter explained some of things on the menu. We ordered shared avocado toast i give it 3/5 the reason is its not impressive i can make the same at home, the avocado was runny and the toast was very soft from the middle and so crispy from the sides so when you eat it keeps falling and for the egg on top we asked for hard boil but the white was half burned . For main entree we got grilled avocado salad 4/5 tasted good . Breakfast burrito was big , fresh. They need to work on their food representation , since its a restaurant . I forgot to add I asked the waiter to reheat my Ube Latte half cup was filled the waiter didn’t come back!

I really wanted this place to be good since it's filipino-inspired, but sadly it's not. It's one of those places where the food looks better than it tastes. We got there at 11 am on a Saturday and was told we'd wait 20-30 mins, but ended up taking 40 minutes to be seated. We got the "sisig" burrito which had a small amount of sisig in it. It was mostly fries wrapped in a tortilla. Very disappointing. The ube pancake looks pretty also but it was just ok. My friend got the korean fried chicken and it was slightly better. They have a service charge of 18% that was already added to our bill.
Food quality and service was great. Menu is a little pricey for what you get.
The estimated wait was 25min, but it became much longer than that. We were somewhat a big party, but still it did take a while, not mention being a Wednesday morning. However, they made it up by giving us a small freebie as they noticed we were celebrating a graduation. But that still does not excuse their lack of efficiency in ensuring seating.
I’ve been to Toast in Costa Mesa a while back and the food was incredible. First time at this location and the food is just ok. I wouldn’t come back as nothing tasted amazing, except the tater tots, those were incredible. The service was good and the server was nice. There are better places to have breakfast in the area and would pick those over Toast unfortunately.

Can’t recommend. With so many other good choices for brunch and breakfast, don’t waste your time and money. -All of the food comes with a bad or off aftertaste. Perhaps not at first, but after a few bites you know something’s not right. The food tasted as if many of the ingredients were sitting around uncovered overnight. Even the 🍓tasted stale… how do you mess that up? Look around an you’ll notice hardly anyone is cleaning their plate except for the busboy. -The location is not really clean (and this is a relatively new building). The floors are dirty, the walls have dents and holes. The staff have their personal drinks on the counters. Surfaces were dusty. -Price is premium, the ingredients and quality are not.

Food is bland, menu is small. Service is decent.
I dont think it makes sense for a bakery to be completely out of nearly all of its Bakery items on a Saturday morning (before the rush even started) so disappointing 😑
We haven’t been in here for a while….yesterday told us why! Waited only 10 minutes and put in our order and seen other people come in and sit at the bar by us. Next thing you know….their food comes out and ours???? for 15 minutes more!? Had to go say something….talk about embarrassing!!!!? Any explanation 😳???? None …they didn’t know what happened!
The service was so and so The quality of chicken meat is not good . The menu items is over priced.. The guy on cashier has attitude for not leaving a good tip ... sorry but the prices already high In general ,the place is clean and in a nice area . .
Avocado toast horrible, lot of fluff no flavor. Better using fresh avocado slices , butter toast, egg.?(egg was overcooked).
In all fairness, it just wasn't my kind of food. I figured that's why at 9:00am the place empty. Just not for me
So disappointed. We've really loved going to Toast for the past few years but the quality has severely dropped recently. They've made changes to the menu that's cheapened the quality of the dishes. Examples from today's meal: the chicken salad used to come with bomb orange chicken nuggets; now it's just sad grilled chicken which really removes a lot of shine from the dish. The chilaquiles were 85% chips compared to the pulled pork and other toppings. And the saddest part: the sisig burritos we've raved over for years came out cold and the pork overcooked. The restaurant only had a few other tables filled so we can't even chalk the poor quality up to a busy kitchen. On the way back home after our latest visit, we made the realization that this Toast location's quality had gone down so much that it's now on par with airport food - subpar food for how much you pay. I might visit the Costa Mesa location next time despite it being further away, but we won't be returning to the Tustin location in the future.
Went here last Sunday. We waited for over an hour to be seated. That is ok as long as the food is good. We ordered our food and it took 45 minutes. The people working there were standing around waiting for food. I guess the kitchen was short handed or behind. The manager on the floor was putting together the napkins and silverware. Not sure why she was not helping or directing the staff on what needed to be done. The food was not good. Which made the whole experience bad.
Extremely slow service for a place that was not busy. We waited 30+ mins for a table when half the restaurant was empty. When we finally ordered our food ALL of it arrived cold. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes for a new order of food that was also COLD. We ordered the pork belly bowls and ube French toast. The French toast was ok, would’ve been better if it was warmer. Over priced, slow service, and underwhelming taste. Very disappointed. Ambiance was pleasant but the music kept stopping and starting. You're better going off going to iHop
I called this place 30 minutes before I arrived so I could order a to go order a girl named Ava put me on hold and forgot that I was on hold and left me on hold for 20 minutes. I called back on repeat since they do not have call waiting and listen to their busy signal for 20 minutes while they completely forgot about me Then when they answered the phone 20 minutes later, Ava apologized and took my order and then arrived 20 minutes later to pick up my order and Ava apologized once again to let me know that she never entered my order into the system and that I would now need to wait another 20 minutes for my breakfast burrito This place looks like it’s run horribly and doesn’t have any true management. This is the third time that I’ve been to this place and it’s been a bad show every single time.

Been twice now had a bad experience both times. Staff all seemed unhappy, food was below average.
I ordered for one hot latte to go but the staff told me to wait 15 mins…. No one is in the line.
Food was terrible! Wouldn't recommend. Not much choice for breakfast.
I ordered a breakfast burrito, it was so greasy for $17.00! What a waste of money!
This place has rats in the back kitchen very dirty
BEWARE EATTING HERE!!! If you are reading my review please choose to eat somewhere else. There was BLACK MOLD GROWING ON MY CHICKEN. It can be HIGHLY TOXIC and I don't want anyone getting sick. I wish I took a picture for proof but I was so shocked I just froze. I'm not trying to bash this restaurant but I can't, in good faith, stand by and not say or do anything as an active member of the service industry.
Chicken was undercooked. Latte was like the worst latte I've ever had in my entire life. French toast tasted like nothing. Server was nice about it but omg literally never going back.
The patio heaters “aren’t working” then the woman says they just need propane. Well it’s 50 degrees and she said they haven’t worked for two weeks. Ridiculous
Staff was terrible and rude. Food was mediocre. Save your time and money and cook at home.
My husband & I went to enjoy a breakfast on a Sat. morning after checking Google reviews & seeing lots of pics of yummy items. However, when we arrived we found a very limited menu w/only 1 sweet dish (Ube French Toast) all other dishes are considered savoy breakfast items. We asked the server about some of the other French Toaso & she stated that their other location carries more items than they do (1st strike). My hubby asked to order a Mimi Pie from the menu & was told there were none made, but there might be some tomorrow, like we cared about what’s avail tomorrow (2nd strike). I ordered a Cappuccino, & the Chicken & Waffles (herd buttermilk) since I was told the Orange Glaze flavor also wasn’t available (3rd strike) My hubby got the Chilaquiles. I got my Cappuccino but sadly drank it all before the food ever arrived, since we waited approx. 30mins for our food (4th strike). My dish looked promising but when I bit into the chicken it was absolutely the worst fried chicken I’ve ever had. There was absolutely NO flavor, not even a hint of salt. It tasted like they took a piece of chicken simply dipped it in buttermilk & plain flour then fried it in rancid oil, I was not eating that! My hubby’s Chilaquiles were also a total let down. It was mainly a bowl of chips with minimal toppings, 1 fried egg & hardly any sauce, I compared the dish to nachos rather than Chilaquiles (5th strike). At this point there was nothing to salvage about our visit. We both just wanted to leave, I explained to the server our opinions on the food and that we didn’t want to try anything else on the menu. She informed the manager who never even came to our table, but told our server we didn’t have to pay for anything. I did offer to pay for my cappuccino, but they refused. The server was very polite but this place was an absolute disaster. Nothing about it will ever make me want to return & I can’t believe with all the recent low Google reviews they still average 4.2 stars. This is very misleading to new customers. Reviews should really be weighed against the past 6-8mos. of ratings.
We used a gift card here that a friend gave us as a gift. Apparently management has changed and they are unable to check the balance of the gift card and I don't know how much is on the card. They comp'ed our $40 meal and took our gift card. So we don't know if the value of the card is more than $40. This doesn't sit right with me and I feel that they are pocketing money if the gift card balance is higher than the meal.
We ordered breakfast burritos today. Horrible food presentation. Literally, it was just a burrito on an empty plate. No garnish on the sides. The pork belly burrito only has a few pieces of meat. The rest was filled with French fries. Our burritos were 17-18 dollars. If I wanted just a plain burrito, I would have gone to a fast food place. Would not recommend.
