BJ's Laguna Hills Reviews
Great night and great service. Good to hang with friends. Tuesdays are great for the amazing poppies. Shoutout to the waiter Matt. He was great. I had him back to back weeks and both were excellent.
Our server was Luka tonight and he was very quick and attended to us well. We always like coming for Tuesday half of pizookie night! The food is great and the discounted pizookies always make it way better!
Lucas was great! Super friendly, easy to talk to, and really on top of everything. He made sure we were taken care of and had awesome recommendations. Definitely made our visit better, would love to have him as our server again!
Been to this BJs location many times. The food is good and the service is usually great. I love their holiday themed drinks and we adore the original s'mores pizookie! Anytime we have had an issue, staff was willing to work with us to resolve it. Thanks, BJs!
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Everyone is super nice here. Alex, the handsome gentleman (shaved head with beard) goes above and beyond with 5-star customer service like you've never seen before. BJ's should promote Alex as CEO of the company, he deserves it. Heck, Alex is so good I think he should run for president. He gets my vote! Additionally, when Alex is here the crowd is poppin', being packed like tuna cans, and empty on his days off. My only wish and the patrons wish is for BJ's Restaurant to bump the song by Taco called "Puttin' On The Ritz" much more often -- maybe three times in a row would be amazing ;). This should be the anthemic theme song for this joint as the Ritz could never do what they do here. Lastly, if Alex were not working here, BJRI stock would crash!
We had an excellent experience at BJ’s tonight. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive. The service was prompt, well-organized, and friendly without feeling forced, which made the entire evening very comfortable. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Portions were generous, presentation was appealing, and the quality clearly reflected consistency and care in the kitchen. Each dish came out at the right temperature and tasted exactly as expected—or better. Overall, BJ’s delivered a great combination of high-quality food and exceptional customer service. It’s clear that both the kitchen and the staff take pride in what they do. We truly enjoyed our time and will absolutely be coming back. Highly recommended.
My Mother and I Come her for lunch several times a month and each time the food and service have been excellent. During my recent visit we had exceptional service from Connor. His overall service was outstanding.. Thank you for making our day great!!! It was much appreciated.
My experience at Laguna Hills BJ’s BrewMaster Was awesome Alex, the waiter as busy as he was he was very efficient and professional most of the time he tried to keep a smile on his face when he approach the customers The food is awesome. The service was awesome. I rate you guys a 10 out of 10 and because of Jill the bartender and Chris the manager I’ve become a regular now Alex just put the icing on the cake. You have a great team here at B.J’S I will be back the next I’m passing through.
I recently went to BJs with my family and had the best time ever!!! The food was delicious especially the pizza!! The atmosphere was great as well as all the options of beer were great! Our server Melissa was amazing and she helped us out through the whole meal!!! I will be coming back and asking for Melissa again!!
My fiancée and I stopped at BJ’s a few nights ago, for what we thought would just be a quick bite after an incredible, life-changing moment—we had just gotten engaged. We didn’t anticipate anything elaborate for a meal; we wanted something simple and comforting as we let the joy of the day sink in. But what happened that night turned into one of the most unforgettable parts of our engagement story, thanks to Renee. From the moment she came to our table, Renee picked up on our excitement and treated us like we were lifelong friends. She didn’t just serve us—she celebrated us! Her warmth, kindness, and genuine joy for our news made us feel like we weren’t just another table in the restaurant, but the most important people there. We were certainly the happiest. Renee brought thoughtful touches to our evening, checked in with the perfect balance of attentiveness and space, and somehow turned an intimate and celebratory yet casual dinner into a full-fledged victory lap on an unforgettable day. We will always remember that date as not only as the day we got engaged, but as the night a complete stranger—Renee—became a part of our story. For a brief moment in time, she wasn’t just our server, but a dear friend. That’s the kind of magic you can’t train, and the kind of service that makes BJ’s stand out. BJ’s should feel very lucky to have her on their team. We know we’ll be coming back just to see her again, and we’ll always tell people: if you want the best experience, ask for Renee.
Had lunch here with two coworkers and had a great experience. Even though it was busy, the staff welcomed us warmly and service was smooth. Food was fresh and delicious, and the variety of craft beers and drinks at the bar was impressive. Appetizers and drinks came out on time, followed by well-prepared main courses. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and professional, energetic staff. Definitely recommend!
We had a great experience at BJ’s Restaurant. The food was very good—flavorful, well-prepared, and served fresh. The ambiance was also nice, with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, a solid spot for both casual dining and a relaxed evening out. I’ll definitely be back.
Well, coming in to this establishment yesterday, 01.29.26 @ 12:30pm, the hostess didn’t acknowledge me as I stood in front of her for several minutes. She didn’t even look up to make eye contact with me as I was patiently waiting for her attention. I finally had to assert myself to put my name on the wait list because even though I was 2 feet from her face, she straight up ignored me. Not very polite or welcoming. The bathroom is decent, but needs a good cleaning. Very dusty. One toilet was clogged (I’ll spare you that picture). The food was good. The waitress was okay. Towards the end she had an attitude that we asked for our dessert to go. However, the way service is in this day and age, I guess this is all “normal” for this rising generation. 🤷♀️ I’m not very good at talking pictures, but if you have dust allergies, this isn’t the place for you!
We've been going to this location for many years & have private parties many times. Unfortunately this last time our food was cold. As our server was nice, but not around much. As we didn't say much, we didnt speak up. We asked for a manager when leaving. Corina was amazing!!! understanding & handled everything professionally. We can't remember the other managers name, but she also handled things promptly We will still continue to visit
Love this place for birthdays. This place is popular for weekend dinners and there is usually a wait. Sitting at the bar area, they do have bar specials that are really good deals. Beware of special days like graduation night or holidays cause they get extremely busy. My daughter loves the Tri tip, my wife the ribs. I love the double bone in pork chop. Enjoy.
We stopped @ BJ's for a quick bite. We ordered the avocado egg roll and the 10 pieces bone-in chicken wings. They're both savory and great appetizers. The wings had a little kick, but not too much. The avocado egg roll was crunchy and freshly made. The staff at the front were very courteous and friendly. Someone opened the door for my mom, and we appreciate that a lot. On the other hand, I can’t say the same thing to our waiter. Yes, he did everything ok, but it is the little things that separate an exceptional customer service vs. just an ok service. He brought 1 to-go box for 2 different dishes. Yes, I could have jammed everything into one box, but I'll be mixing the flavors. I didn’t want to ask him for a plastic bag, so I took the liberty to go to the front and asked a staff member instead.
This place is always crowded but we prefer to sit in the bar which is never a long wait for a seat. We ordered and enjoy the drinks here. This time decided to get the lemon pepper wings and a side salad which tasted great. Our waitress was kind enough to split our check accordingly and was attentive. The only thing that was an issue was not getting all our food items delivered together since some were left waiting while some had food. They do have happy hour items but we didn’t order off that menu.
I hate that I have to leave this review because I really love BJ’s; they have good food, decent pricing and all else. All of that being said, the service is subpar at best. I work in the restaurant construction industry, not only that, but was a project manager directly for building BJs across the country. I have been there at the end of construction, present for their training of the new crews at dozens of locations and heard it hammered into all the new hires about the seven steps of service. New hires would not even be allowed to pass the first round of cuts if they didn’t get every single question right on their initial training tests. Oh, how they have fallen. “No auctioning off of food”. This went from a standard step of training of “what not to do” to something that happens every-time I eat at BJs. On my visit last week, there was a salad that was ordered by a child in our party and no one remembered he had ordered it. The child was in the restroom when the salad came, so when it was being auctioned off “Caesar salad? Caesar salad???” and no one knew whose it was, so we sent it back. If the food runner was following protocol and knew what seat position had ordered it, then it would have been a non-issue. Salad came 3 bites before our entrees. 4 sets of apps came out 15-20 mins prior, but no salad. Once the salad came, it was either eat it or a warm entree; not both. Pre-bussing….argh this is my biggest pet peeve. We ate dinner with plates upon plates, upon plates piled up in the middle of the table just to make room for our dinner plates. Not one plate was pre-bused of all we had and for the 20 minutes after our food was dropped off, no one returned to our table. No checking on the food. No asking if we needed refills, no asking if we wanted to put our desert order in. Nothing. Eventually we went to the front, asked for the manager and she was helpful to get things going. They got the piles of plates bussed and put our desert order in. She was responsive and helped make the best of a bad situation, but sadly the tone of the night had already been set. I wish I could say this was the first time, but it wasn’t. The level of service has really dwindled to the point of where I just expect my salad and appetizer plate to be on my table until after the check has been paid. Even with 2 people eating, the food will be auctioned and the 7 steps of service is something no current server even has a concept of. I’ll still go here, but I now just temper my expectations to be realistic for what I know I’ll get. I’ll likely enjoy the food but not to expect more than the service you’d figure to receive from a Barstow truck stop at 3:30am.
Clearly, the kitchen is overwhelmed because when I walked in to pick up my order, there wasn’t an empty seat in the restaurant when i got my pizza home. It was cold, soggy wet the dough was raw and look at the pictures did someone’s finger went through my pizza. what good is a pizza place that can even manage to make a good pizza
