Cafe 67 Lakeside Reviews
fun spot that reminded me of my childhood in jersey (although with much friendlier staff). delicious food and big portions. veggie burger was great and the tofu scramble was the best we ever had! highly recommend if you are in the area.
Cafe 67 always brings me back to being a kid. The place is so nostalgic... it feels like walking in to see old friends. The food is great every time. I usually get breakfast, and my husband always orders their Reuben. We make it a tradition to stop there after we lose at Barona Resort & Casino… it definitely makes the sting a little less!
This local diner has great food. Try the Gigi's Chicken Salad Croissant and you will never eat this sandwich anywhere else! The service is friendly and the management is the best. This restaurant will not disappoint. Closed on Mondays. Breakfast and lunch. Closes at 2 PM. The Best!
Excellent little hidden cafe at the start of the 67. This place gets super busy and seems to be very popular. Surprisingly I hadn't been here living in the area for a couple of years but the food is great and the staff are excellent so I understand it's popularity. So far, I've had a couple of their omelettes which were delicious, the giant cinnamon roll French toast - Mind blowing especially if you have a sweet tooth and maybe a bit much for others, the biscuits - Massive and yummy, reminds me a bit of my great grand mother's recipe. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for breakfast, as that is the only meal I've had here.
ts place was pretty tuff, the mangos and mustard were peak and only costed a quarter. me and my friend steven here loved the 67 ohio, it would have been better if it were in cupertino, but its okay🥀... although i did not like how adrian forgot to explain the friend group and he used his "x ray vision for grippers" superpower on me even though i am just a bebeh. on a scale of 67, i would rate it like a 41.
Its my birthday. Visiting from Texas. Nice California feel . James Dean, Marilyn monroe memorabilia. Great friendly staff. Hot delicious food served quickly. Parking was limited and full but that means folks willing to go there. Old school feel .
You get a huge amount of food. It's well-made and very tasty. The biscuits are as large as a softball and are tender. Our very kind and friendly waitress, Ruby, was helpful in answering our questions. The house salsa elevated the already fantastic omelets. No one in our dining party could finish our meals even though the wonderful taste kept tempting us to take just one more bite. Even though it was crowded, service was quick, accurate and friendly. Our waitress was on top of it and we were never in want for more coffee or beverages (didn't need to ask or flag anyone down). It's a really nice diner, nothing fancy and it doesn't pretend to be otherwise. A good solid value.
Really great service. I was seated immediately. Even let me change to a window booth. The menu had a lot of options considering I’m gluten and lactose intolerant! I ordered the vegetation scramble and was not disappointed. Very flavorful meal. It was so big I could only eat a 3rd. lol. The rest I took to go.
I had the polish omlette and a single bisket with gravy my cousin had patty melt her son had chicken fried steak and my mother had biskets and gravy.......biskets and gravy were great.......large portions great flavor......the omlette was cheesy (in a good way) with chunks of kielbasa and mushroom mix in.......very good omlette........another visit to Cafe 67.......I'll add new pictures.......I had the rueben sandwich with waffle fries......my mother had the biskets and gravy and my cousin had a patty melt with fries......all were great with large portions
We have been coming to this cute diner for over 10 years and the food never fails to impress us. The atmosphere is great with a retro vibe. Neat little decorations and pictures are all around which bring you back in time. The food portions are very large, and everything we have ordered has been very flavorful. The service has always been wonderful and attentive. Would absolutely recommend this place for a quick, hearty breakfast or lunch. The cafe is not open on Mondays so plan accordingly.
If u r NOT in a hurry but want to enjoy a good breakfast... this is the place. For a reason the waiting time could be a bit long but it sure is definitely worth it! I went after the hike and sure was pleasant!
This is a very reserved 4 stars. Let me explain. This place has been around for quite a while, but you not be able to tell by the overall interior appearance, it was very clean! Although, also VERY dated… The reviews don’t lie, you get an insane amount of food!! If it’s your only meal for the day, you won’t be dissatisfied. Look closely at the pictures! You can likely share a meal. The food tasted good and appeared fresh. However, either the cook does not know what he is doing or just doesn’t care. If we had ordered a ‘scramble’ instead of an omelet, I truly don’t think we would see any difference. For example, the veggie omelet had the avocado cooked into it rather than placed on top. I tend to judge the skill of the kitchen by their ability to prepare two items. Country Sausage gravy and hollandaise sauce. As these are the most technical items on any breakfast menu. The gravy was sad, it was lacking in sausage and pepper and I felt they relied heavily on corn starch for thickening. I’m positive a roux was not involved. I don’t think I need to test the hollandaise. All in all, it was not a horrible experience and the owner and waitstaff are extremely pleasant and attentive. It is definitely a greasy spoon experience that will leave you well filled and ready for a nap!!
I have driven by Cafe 67 coutless times getting onto Highway 67 in Lakeside. We finally decided to check it out since it was on our way home from a short staycation. We were warmly welcomed by their friendly staff and quickly seated at a nice booth. The restaurant is filled with knick-knacks, flair, odds & ends and whatnot but it was all so clean and well kept. Nothing was dusty. I ordered the CFS and it was outstanding. The gravy in particular was excellent. I was intrigued to try what they call a “Monterey Potato Cake” and it sounded better than it tasted. Completely devoid of any crispness and didn't really seem fresh. That tater cake was a gut bomb in itself and I ate less than half of it. I will say the English muffin was exquisite. Perfectly toasted and buttered. I appreciated that they had my favorite blackberry jam packets at the table, plus my wife’s favorite, orange marmalade. I look forward to visiting again soon, but will most likely order traditional hashbrowns or grits next time.
1st time here and glad I went. FOOD was delicious and the waiter was awesome. I had the works omelet and she had the breakfast croissant with DEEP fried potatoes.. POTATOES were perfectly crunchy the omelet was so damn good and her croissant she was was also delicious..The waiter was awesome with service and polite. Food came out fast and hot. 4 Stars because its my first visit. Going back for sure and let's see if I can add that last star..
