El Rodeo Lampasas Reviews
Excellent breakfast at this local restaurant in Lampasas service was great and the prices were very reasonable. My friend and I both ordered Huevos Rancheros with corn tortillas sides of bacon and my friend also got a bowl of Mole sorry if I didn't spell it correctly. Don't pass by if your in Lampasas and looking for a good meal.
Nice place. Great food. Best enchiladas I've ever had. Good prices on their lunch special. Seated quickly, great attention....but not too much. I have no idea why they don't have a better overall rating.
I had a great experience, eating at this places, Came in from out of town I was asking all the people at Walmart where they like to eat out and they said go here, so I did portion was good and service was great, I'll definitely be visiting again!
The food was really good and the portions were large. The server was really nice.
This is our regular stop when we get the chance to pass through Lampasas. Wait staff is super attentive and food is always out fairly quick and everything we've ordered has been fantastic.
Food is great, atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, service is almost always good. Prices are reasonable as well
Our first time here was yesterday (6/26) and we enjoyed it very much. Our waitress (the pretty blonde girl) was one of the best. Very attentive and kind. This restaurant is very lucky to have her! We will definitely be back, fair prices too!
The food was great! Even the salsa had good flavor, and the chips were thick, fresh, and crisp. My husband and I had their enchilada lunch specials. The enchiladas were delicious! We were on a day trip from Leander, and stopped by for lunch. I highly recommend eating here! Our total was only $40! I haven't had great food for so cheap in years!
It was pretty enjoyable. I actually liked the rice and beans better than the beef and cheese burritos. They were good, but not delicious. The restaurant is handicap accessible though not really handicap friendly. I rated it a 4 out of 5 because it was pretty good but for the price, I've had better.
The food is pretty standard texmex. They’ve got plenty of variety. Be sure to be clear when you order, as the service is somewhat spotty
Food is fantastic, service was great. Everything solid except the larger white lady who works behind the register, she talks so loudly that on the other side of the restaurant you can here every word she is saying. Her conversations are less than intelligent at best and wildly inappropriate at worst. If I ever come back and see her working, I will immediately turn around and go somewhere ele
Food was ok. Service was polite but less than stellar considering we were one of 3 tables in the place and had to remind them to refill drinks and chips a couple times and waited repeatedly. What topped it off was being charged for my to go tea. I've never been charged for a to go drink in my life. That and the 3.99% fee for using my debit card sealed the deal - I'll try somewhere else next time I come through.
Food was served quick. Servers were friendly. Alcohol drinks were great. Taste of food was ok. I expected better, per the reviews I read. Overall, a decent restaurant.
We come to Lampasas often and have eaten here several times. Always love a good Mexican food meal! The service and food is pretty good overall. Certainly not stellar, but it’s not poor either. Tonight it appeared they were busier than expected and possibly understaffed as well. Our server (a gentlemen) was keeping a positive demeanor and did his best to keep up with our table but unfortunately our glasses of water stayed empty most of the meal. We waited an exceptionally long time for chips, salsa refills, and our queso appetizer as well as our dinner. When our queso came to the table, it came in two small bowls and we confirmed we ordered a large. The young lady bringing the queso said two smalls were the same as a large. A little while later, a young man came to our table with two large quesos which we denied but will be important later when we discuss our bill. Two of our dinners were correct (the special for the night was #30 and they were correct). My dinner (Mexican Salad) was supposed to be without beans but it came WITH beans. The fourth dinner was supposed to be puffy tacos with one extra. Instead, the extra taco came as a crispy taco. With all of us having been in the service industry at some point, we can appreciate that nights like this happen. All service staff seemed to be working hard and maintaining a positive attitude despite being busy/understaffed. The lost stars actually come from the billing and how it was handled when we tried to get it corrected. We were overcharged for the two dinner specials. Their explanation: “we haven’t updated our specials board” (see picture…their specials board is in CHALK). It seems that is a quick and easy fix. We 100% understand that the current state of the economy requires increased prices. We support that. However signage should be updated. I found it quite disappointing that we were not charged according to the prices we saw but instead charged for the “new prices” which were not visible. It also appears we were charged for FOUR quesos. When asked about this, they only agreed to refund us for two. The young lady who was assisting with the billing questions did not know how to properly perform a credit card refund so the refund was given in cash. In summary, a quaint and nice enough small town Mexican restaurant. I have been to many that are far superior but our experience has always been pleasant enough and we’ve never hesitated to return when we are in town. Understaffing and long waits and order mistakes do not warrant a poor review unless they are recurring because these are things that are bound to happen from time to time at restaurants. Unfortunately the overcharges and lack of care with it was very disappointing and DID warrant a less than perfect review. We will be back so I hope this was an isolated occurrence and not what we should expect on future visits!
Don’t have a taco special and put a spoon full of ingredients. Taco was all flour tortilla and not much stuffing. Come on do better even if you have to charge more!
DO NOT GET THE FAJITA PLATE OR ANY FAJITAS FOR THAT FACT, well unless you want to feel like you are chewing on your own car tires THAT WONT CHEW OR BREAK UP then by all means get the Fajitas! You have been warned! First time here and of course stupid me had read a review, (before coming here), about the fajita on the same issue and looking through the menu and waiting forever, (not like the place was 1/2 packed), for señorita to come take my order I totally forgot about the review I read on the rubber meat! People do yourself a favor, AVOID THE FAJITAS, I AM PRETTY SURE THEY ARE SHAVING SOME TREAD OFF SOME OLD TIRES AND SLAPPING SOME SEASONING ON IT AND CALLING IT A MEAL!
First… the server kept asking if we were ready to order when we were trying to tell her the tea tasted old, and we needed a different drink. Then when we finally got to order, we got a queso and one plate to share, the queso wasn’t hot, maybe “warm” but the toddler didn’t even eat it it was that gross, then when the food came out and tasted like fabuloso (like cleaner). We didn’t finish anything on the plate and she never asked if it tasted okay or anything or to check on us, if there’s that much food on the plate left when a couple is sharing a plate, you should ask if everything tasted okay. The gravy tasted like cleaner, along with the potato’s and eggs. The biscuit was chewy? Not sure how you even accomplish that? The only thing safe to eat was the chips and salsa and the BOTTLED drinks. We spent 34 and change for a crap meal and service. The picture is the reminder of a “shared” plate between two hungry adults
I ordered 3 meals and sent my daughter to pick it up because I’m on bed rest. This is how my food was packed. All 3 meals. I have never been so disappointed in any food service establishment. I paid $51.90 for this food, for it to look like this on my plate. On a good note, the sweet tea was good.
