Zac's Phillysteaks & Shakes Lancaster Reviews
Absolutely insane value here. I got a 10" Philly cheesesteak, fries, and a soda for under 12 bucks. I barely finished the sandwich and hardly even made a dent in the crispy and well seasoned steak fries. If you're in the area, you're soing yourself a disservice if you don't drop by.
We tried this place after my nephew's baseball game and it definitely did not disappoint. The cheesesteak was awesome and the burger that my wife got was amazing. Try the wiz cheese. Good fresh-brewed iced tea!
Trust me — make this spot a must-try before you leave the area! The food was so good I completely forgot to take pictures. I’m super picky when it comes to Philly steaks, but this place nailed it. I honestly wish they had a location closer to my house — I’m nine hours away! Definitely grab a shake too; it won’t disappoint. And don’t skip the ranch jalapeño — it’s a game changer.
First with the service, it was great! She was polite and attentive, soft spoken but audible just a pleasure to deal with. Now for the food, it was wildly good! Steak cooked very well and seasoned perfectly as well as the onions being soft with a subtle bite and the bread was nice and soft. The steak was juicy (not greasy) which for me made the whole ten inch sandwich go down very easily! I would highly recommend this little place because not only is it locally owned, but it is a quality place, with great service. I think from order to leaving was about 7 minutes. **Edit: They have since added a special that includes a 5" cheese steak of your own design, 4 wings, and order of fries(add chili and cheese for $1.50) and a drink for $12.99! It's a really great meal and their wings are pretty damn good. This place deserves some hype for the consistency of quality eats and good service.
Zac's is like a fantastic treasure we stumbled upon when we first arrived in Lancaster! The food is incredibly scrumptious, and the team there is incredibly friendly. Their burgers are so generously sized that sometimes we opt for the kids' meals, and they still leave us happily full. And oh, their wings! They're simply irresistible. My children constantly request dining at Zac's, and our entire family can't get enough of this remarkable place.
Having lived in Philly for four years and eating all the famous cheese steaks the city has to offer. I think I do a pretty good job of knowing what a good cheesesteak is. These cheesesteaks are great no let me rephrase that fantastic. One of the big differences in cheese steaks outside of the East Coast is the roll. The roll they’re using here is pretty good. Tasty even. Not as crusty and slightly chewy as the East Coast roll but still very good. Meat cheese are spot on and very, very, very good. Your money is well spent here.
So I randomly decided to go here one night after gardening 😉 and boy was I in for a surprise! This was my first time trying this place . Omggggg my Philly was soooooo good! I was not expecting it to be that good since I read a few mixed reviews. You HAVE to go in and try it for yourself! Dude 10s all across the board. I got a mixed 10in Philly. I could easily come here twice a week 😂
This was my first time trying this place as my cousin wanted something simple for his birthday dinner and it was really good. I enjoyed the cheesesteaks. The steak was seasoned and you got plenty. I also liked the chicken philly as well. The lemon pepper wings were my favorite. They were seasoned well and crispy!! If they were a little closer, I'd definitely choose their wings over wingstop. The young man Joshua that works there was very nice and helpful when ordering.
The food was good. There are better Phillys but not at this price. Chicken philly was extra full. Just before dry. Good flavor, good bread. Beef had good flavor, less beef than chicken. Tride the sides and they were overall good. Pickles were just barely over cooked but they would good if not. Onion rings weren't greasy cheese sticks were solid, not hollow. The reasons the lost a star. 1. Saw the female owner/manager took out three fries. Seemed petty. Three? 2. One time, by the menu was 10.50(sandwich), 2.50(fries), dollar off shake 3.50 =16.50 +tax should =17.86. My bill was 18.50. There were no extras. Its less than the dollar off for the shale so they didnt forget that. It might be small but if it's common that's a problem.
My first time here and the food was ok. The Philly was dry and the cheese was only in one spot. Half the sandwich was full of meat and the other half way less. The wings could have been better. The drumsticks were hard but saucy. I was expecting way better food based on the reviews. Not a location I would want to eat in due to it not being a vibe.
I really wanted this to be so good and will definitely give them another chance. But upon walking in there was an individual sitting "on the table" smoking before he came in to grab the free beverage from the fountain machine when the cashier got too busy to notice. So I made my order before the lunch rush came in and took my order to go. The place reminded me of certain spots in PA but a lot was missing with the aesthetics and I get it. The sandwich and fries were soggy and seemed watered down, maybe it was the lettuce and whiz mixing but this wasn't it. I ordered some wings to see if they could redeem my visit but I will let someone else taste them before I go in. I am willing to try them again. Hope my next visit is a better experience.
I ordered 20 wings with two flavors and the wings were so small, it upset my whole family. We were basically eating skin and bones. The wings I had before were a decent size and I'm not sure if they switched vendors or got the bottom of the barrel Wings out out of desperation, but if you have to serve Wings like this, then just tell the public that you don't have wings. There were hardly any drumsticks in this order and the top was fried hard and pretty much meatless.
The food just was not hitting for anything. The bread was not toasted at all. Which made the already bland meat even worse. There wasn’t any seasoning tasted. I was excited to get the chopped cheese. As someone that loves them from New York. The cheese wasn’t even melted! It wasn’t mixed in with the meat ( which is what a chopped cheese is!). They just slapped ground beef on a cold roll and threw a cold piece of cheese under it (can barely see it in the picture). The prices were low but I still expected something tasty. The only good thing was that you got a lot of fries with the combo and the chicken wings were cooked correctly. Staff were sweet though. Drink price was cheap too. I guess if you don’t know good tasting food, this is good enough.
Came here a few months ago and my cheesesteak was delicious, prepared as I requested. My visit today was disappointing, my cheesesteak had very few onions and peppers and very little cheese. I requested lettuce, tomatoes and mayo and it wasn’t added. I don’t think I will be back.
