Philly Bar & Lounge Latham Reviews
Sports bar with good food and a great patio, lots of TVs, large space, live music sometimes. Always seems to have a good crowd. No real sure about the club haven't been to that part late at night, seems a little weird since it really is a sports bar but to each is their own. Through a surprise 30th bday party was supposed to be on the patio but the weather spoiled that. They moved us into the lounge area and everyone had a great time. The wait staff was amazing and everyone said what a great time they had.
I have held multiple professional events regarding my real estate company Diamond realty and not only did Phillys go above and beyond what my expectations were but, more importantly, Kayla Tomorro - the Bartender for the event - provided one of the best experiences I’ve ever experienced from any of the many party’s I’ve hosted at the several other venues I’ve used in prior years. I would highly recommend not only Phillys as the venue, but also to have Kayla as the bartender as the one serving it for anyone looking to host any party or celebration at Phillys bar and grill.
Great food, drinks and entertainment! This is the type of place you can bring your significant other and have a great night and enjoy yourself. The owner keeps the club ghetto free and the best security in the business keeps it that way. One of the very few places in the area I would give 5stars.
Have been coming here for years. Pre-covid times it was PACKED on Saturdays and dance floor was hoping. Always has the top DJ’s in the area coming here. Re-Opening America times the lounge is ONLY open but no dance floor, which I miss. Still a cool place and has a well known reputation in the area. 6/5/2021: Ordered Corona & seltzer water with lime = $6.66. Margarita pizza with 3 extra toppings = $16.
We love this place. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and we highly recommend.
Great Service. Had the All American Burger with Fries. Delicious. Our server was very attentive to our needs and was fast and efficient on getting our order to us.
This is a new spot i discovered recently. I did not go inside in the 3 times I've been here since August 1st. Their outside patio is HUGE and often have live local bands playing on a deck over the outside bar. Oh, and the food and service are great as well.
One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time! Food and drinks were great and the service was even better! Our waitress Elena was extremely prompt, personable and had our drinks to us within minutes of ordering. Overall great experience and will be coming back very soon
My daughter and I were here for lunch. The Caesar Side Salad is LARGE and DELISCIOUS.. nice and FRESH with just the right amount of dressing! Seasoned Fries were crispy and very good/tasty. Smoked Chipotle Raspberry Wings we're good, but not as flavorful as I was hoping them to be. Ambiance was GREAT for a Sports Bar.. Family Friendly and not loud! Service was excellent as was the Wait Staff! I recommend the Philly Bar and Lounge! EXCELLENT!!🤗
My husband and I came in for lunch today and we were happy as always. Anna was our waitress and she was friendly and on top of everything, even bringing us boxes when she noticed we were full without us having to ask. We always start with the boneless mango habanero wings and when they say they are spicy, they aren't kidding and we LOVE it! My husband loves the homemade bleu cheese dressing that comes with them. We both tried something other than our normal order. I had the Tennessee Hot Chicken sandwich and it definitely did not disappoint. It is crispy, spicy, and delicious. My husband had the Cajun Burger and it was a hit the spot burger. This will continue to be our go-to spot!
I been going to Philly Bar and Grill since it opened. The food has always been amazing, great service, professional staff, and great servers and bartenders. Every time I am in the area I stop in for a few beers and some food and I always leave satisfied.
Went 7/25. Had the Bull and Barrell Hot and Garlic Parm bone in wings. Excellent crispiness. The hot were the perfect combo of heat and flavor. Garlic Parm great flavor and crispiness. Build your own Philly is a must here. Got a chicken and steak both were out of site . The staff was friendly and attentive. Before our glasses were empty there were over to refill it. Highly recommend. Prices are outstanding on their menu. If you looking for pub food and your in Latham. Make here you stop.
Phillies Bar & Grill in Latham is an absolute gem! The vibe is fantastic—perfect for catching a game, grabbing drinks, and enjoying great food. The owners are incredibly welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Whether you’re here for the lively atmosphere or the delicious menu, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend!
The hostess and Oilvia were both very professional and waited on us. Olivia provided great professional service and recommended food and drink specials to us. She provided the best customer service I've had in along time. My friend works down the road and will be ordering food in the future. 5/31/24 9-10pm
Phillies is the best bar in town! Love the vibe, food and amazing staff. Highly recommend after work for a drink & dinner or to watch the game. Love it here
Delicious lunch and prompt service. My burger was cooked perfectly, and was well seasoned. My husband’s chicken cheese Philly was just right, and the roll was crispy. The homemade potato salad was tasty, and a nice change from the usual sides.
My friend and I ate here. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was delicious. We had two of the specials. Can’t remember the names but one was turkey thanksgiving themed. Friend LOVED it. Mine was chicken. Also yummy. Looks like they are renovating and adding more screens so it’s mid construction. Oh yeah, nachos were great and servings large
All good things about this place. It is very clean. The atmosphere is really nice, and the staff are friendly. I had the kimchi Mac n cheese and boy was it good. If you're did at tolerating hot and spice, you're gonna really enjoy it. We sat at the patio where they had the big protectors. We played cornhole and it was so fun. Would go back a million times.
I went to Philly Bar and Lounge for my nieces birthday with about 25 other people. The staff was very friendly and food was fantastic. I would highly recommend!
Another Saturday another venture. This time, further south with my brother in tow. This place is awesome in all ways a comfort hometown bar/restaurant should be. Atmosphere, super friendly staff and a stellar craft beer menu and seasonal cocktail menu. Can’t say enough about our server Olivia; attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn’t go to a place called the Philly Bar and not have one of their signature Philly cheesesteaks! You can build your own. They were delicious. Steak was perfectly seasoned, had the homemade jalapeño queso, peppers and onions. Bread was from a local bakery and was so good too. Menu can satisfy any craving. This place is a gem ! ❤️❤️❤️
One of the top patios in the area! Regular and high top tables along with fire pit tables. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with fries off the regular menu. My husband had a Philly steak and cheese with cheez whiz. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. Will definitely return!
Most of the menu is just so so. But the Philly Cheese Steaks are Better than Pat’s or Geno’s in South Philadelphia. I’m not kidding. The roll perfect, just the right amount fat in the meat & cheeze wiz! Yup only CheezeWiz on a Philly Cheese steak. Caramelized Onions are a perfect add on.
Great cheese steaks, large size and good value, with several unique selections. Good beer with a nice selection. Awsome outside bar/eating area. I would go back again. The inside was a little plain. I would go back again, no question.
Fairly busy but not packed on a recent Sat afternoon around 1:45. Sat for over 10 minutes until server came over for drink order. She was pleasant and friendly, returning 10 minutes later with our drinks. She took our food order which was delivered by a kitchen worker about 15 minutes later. Server checked back once and we didn't see her again until we had been finished with our meals for several minutes. (We had 2 delicious Philly steak sandwiches), at which time we asked for the check. Conclusion:greatfood ambiance, but adding another server for a Sat afternoon crowd would streamline service
Update: went to an office party in the bar area above the dance floor. Had a great time! It was perfect for the amount of folks we had there (20). Good service, good prices, good menu and clean. What's not to like!
This is a really cool place for a private event. My cousin's 30th birthday surprise party was on the second floor. We had our own bar, super comfy couches and great food. There were also tall tables, regular tables for sitting and seats at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and attentive.
I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time for the phillies. I am a big fan and around here it's hard to find one that is actually good! I was pleasantly surprised to find out how amazing this place was! I thought the outdoor seating was really nice but I did not see what the inside of the restaurant was like. We ordered chicken wings as an app and they were awesome we asked for them extra crispy and they came out perfect. We both got a philly as our entree and shared some fries. I thought the fries were good but I would skip them next time because the philly is enough. Everything was awesome, we will be back again for a Philly soon! I don't think we will venture off the menu to try anything else. Sticking with what works! Our waitress was really sweet and friendly but the amount of time we had to wait for her to help us was quite long and the wait for the food was very long but definitly worth it!
Atmosphere is excellent, one of the nicest outside decks in the area. Service is good. Food selection is good. I didn't give it 5 stars because of little things like serving beer in plastic cups and still using straws and not having real maple syrup if you go there for brunch.
Food was a bit inconsistent. The nachos were ok. However the cheese steaks were phenomenal! The portions were generous and reminded me of ones I've had down in Philly. Overall a good place to grab some grub and/or watch the game at the bar.
Very nice compared to what the owners call a Inn! Music nights on Fridays, and beer for days!
Met here on a Saturday night to hang out with friends. No issues at the door, the DJ was jamming, the place was jam packed and a lot smaller than expected. We managed to get bar seats which was great since it was so crowded and it was five of us. The waitress had great customer service after I brought a complaint to her, she was understanding and willing to fix the situation. Overall, had a good time and would visit again.
Just had a couple of craft beers at the outside bar. First arrived in a cheap plastic cup. When I ordered a second, I requested a real glass. The bartender was very accomadating. I do not get way a place that features craft beers would not serve in decent glasses by default.
It's rare to find a bar with such a variety of clientele. Someone was celebrating their 21ST in the lounge area with live jazz music, while on the bar side of it there was rap playing on the stereo by a DJ with 60 year old people grinding with 30 year olds. Interesting experience. I recommend if you want to try something new and want to enjoy cheap drinks!
Went to Philly's for a night out with the guys. A small cover fee ($3) at the front and we were in. The music is ok but changes drastically based on the DJ's mood and the crowd can be lacking. The drinks however are pretty cheap and do not lack of strength. I don't think I'll come back as the total environment in my opinion is lacking and they can do better.
Food is pretty good. Greasy cheese steaks are their thing and they do them well. Interior atmosphere doesn't match the exterior. That is, the outside is nicer. On your way in, if you aren't a regular, those who are will definitely give you they eye. However, the servers are friendly and the food is worth listening to the locals shout at each other across the bar.
Giving 3 because of the server was very good. Food was OK -not great and not sure if we will be back. We were hoping it was going to be our “Go To” spot while here but so disappointed in service once bill was presented. We were charged $4.00 more for wings than advertised because “ there is a shortage of wings.” Mushrooms on pizza were advertised as $.75 and we were charged $2.00. No disclosure of price change. Hopefully they will update their menu prices and not surprise guests at the end.
Stopped on several occasions, for lunch and for dinner. The menu had a decent set of American pub style food choices. We ordered a cheese steak, wings and various different snack foods. It was always quick, hot and well-prepared. The prices were affordable and inline for the quality of food. The bar has recently gone through an extensive renovation. Modern new outdoor patio and a trendy dance club upstairs. The original bar downstairs resides in the dining hall and still has that neighborhood pub feel. Parking can be tight when busy. The overall service experience was good. A nice local alternative good for a quick bite.
As a first time customer, I'm 50/50 on going back. The cheesesteak was really good. The salmon didn't exactly taste fresh. It might have been frozen but I'm not positive. Restaurant is kind of on the smaller side but that isn't although a bad thing. People bumping into you constantly is! Waitress was really nice. Fries were crispy and nicely seasoned but a bit oily. Like I said, I'm 50/50.
Reasonable food, meh service. Outside bar, bartender spent 90% of her time talking with two guests. 6 more at the bar. Never once checked in on how the food was etc. Baja fish tacos- reasonable. nice fry on the fish. Quality tortilla’s… they should be slapped on the chargrill for some grill marks- more flavor & texture. Cabbage & pico needed salt, adding fresh lime squeeze was a big improvement. Lacked acid. (Not served with lime wedge) House chips were thick & salted well. Thick & chunky salsa.
Soooo this place vexes me. On one side, most of the food that came out was good. On the other side, we had a little issue that wasn't really alleviated. Wasn't a horrible experience, but I would've gladly gave Phillys 4 stars if they had handled it properly. Let's brrak it down. Came with a squad of 7 for dinner including my boy, new wife, bro, sis, mom and pops in law. Apps: Calamari and buffalo cauliflower. Calamari was light, crispy and delicious. The red (schezuan style?) looking dipping sauce was excellent. The buff caul had blue cheese or goat cheese or some cheese chunk droplets all over it. They were tasty with a nice kick. Only wish there was more of each. Wasn't a small portion or anything, just wished there was more. Most of us ordered beef cheesesteaks with different toppings and dif cheeses. Mine had suayeed onions and peppers wit Wiz. Always money. Everyone who had a cheesesteak enjoyed it. This is their specialty afterall. Other orders: The sweet potato falafel. Fried Oyster Po' Boy. The Salmon dish. Falafel was good (although our waitress asked how she wanted that cooked..not sure if that's an Albany/upstate thing). Oyster po boy was tasty (although one side of the po boy had about 2 oysters and the other side was loaded with like 9..Im not a stickler for that kinda stuff, but my wife is and she had the half w/ 2 on it, so i gave her some of mine). Salmon was where the stars start to get knocked off. As a whole, the dish was great. Salad was good, fried polenta cake thing was good, salmon was season nicely..buuuuttt it was raw in the middle. I literally heard Gordon Ramsay shouting in my head that the salmon was 2 seconds away from swiming upstream! So we had the waitress come over, but she didn't really know what to say or do..she said she hadn't been working there for a few weeks, but is that really a good excuse? She sent the salmon back. Took the whole half eaten plate. We all finished our meals as they prepped a new piece of fish. It came out on a small plate with no more salad or polenta cake and bro was pissed. He just boxed it to go and spoke to the manager. He was ok (I actually used to work under him when he was the head cook at McGillicuddys in New Paltz) didn't really help much but at least he took $10 off the order. There you have it. Mostly good food. Great cheesesteaks, onion rings and fries. Disheveled waitress was weak. Service on the undercooked salmon was trash. Oh but the drinks were flowin and they had a nice 2 for 1 deal on beers.
Never, ever, even par-cook $15 Wings then serve them for dinner. Also be sure to actually put mushrooms IN the cheese steak when ordered. Havent been in 6 years and no need to come back. 'Nuff said.
Went on a week night and it wasn't very busy. I haven't been in awhile, but after the renovations and nice out door patio it was nice so we thought we'd go. Jen was our waitress and made the entire experience one that made me say I wouldn't come back. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. It took 35 minutes for just the drinks to arrive and I asked about our appetizer and she said it would be right up. Another 25 minutes passed and the tables around us that had come after we're already finished eating and leaving. The appetizer came out and I had asked to speak with a a manager. Jen didn't even come over once to say anything or check on our drinks. The food finally came after an hour and it wasn't even average. The manager stepped in after I found a hair in the soda and Jen was a ghost. Jen didn't bring any of the food out to other tables or ours so I'm confused as to what she would have been so busy doing other than neglecting us. I'm not sure why Phillys keeps her there and maybe she should think about a different job. I wouldn't go back, but If your not hungry and have time to hang out the patio is nice. I think the owner should invest in better staff after all the money he spent on the facilities.
First experience was not very good. First of all if and when you go for the first time watch your step! There is a step up which is not at all obvious due to table placement and the color of floor, if you are looking straight ahead you do not notice step up and there are no warning signs. Second, the meal was edible but nothing spectacular, and the service was the same; acceptable but barely. On top of that the prices are Bolton prices. Would not go back unless it was to meet family there.
I was here with a large group (around 20). We had a reservation, but they did not seem to have enough staff to adequately serve our group. Food took at least an hour to arrive for the majority of our group, and 6 people had to wait even longer because apparently the ticket on which one end of the table's orders were written was lost. Food was mediocre at best once it finally arrived. I ordered a mushroom pizza which was supposed to be served with oyster mushrooms but it came with a completely different kind of mushroom. Service, in general, was below par. When it came time to pay it was a nightmare. The server tried to be helpful by splitting our group onto two checks, but it was done totally wrong and some people had their drinks on one check and their food on another.
Just got my takeout order from Philly's and it's the last one I will be getting. Let me say, first off the food gets 3 to 4 stars for bar food. I have gotten the cheese steak multiple times and most of the time it's good. The problem I have is the fact that they are beyond disorganized and really dont care about the customer. It's the second time I called in an order, went there 40 minutes later and the food was still not ready. On top of that I waited another 20 minutes and the place was empty. We ordered a quesadilla and on the menu it says fries or small salad come with it. We were told, yes it does say that, but we dont do that. For an extra $5.00 we got a small bag, about 8 fries with it. On to the security. These guys try to intimidate and harass customers to the point where you dont even want to go in. One time we went and they had a band playing. We told them we were there to eat and they still wanted a cover. The place has potential, but wont survive with 110 grill coming in if they continue to treat their customers bad.
We were there once, again with 6 ppl. Way too HOT. How about investing in some umbrella. Service was very slow. 2 waitress outside is ridiculous..The poor girl was frantic. Then the food came out wrong. .....One of our ppl waited another half hour while we all already ate. Terrible.
I would really love to give this place 5 stars. I love the food, the people, the bartenders instantly know my drink when go up to the bar, DJ Bruno is an amazing DJ. But unfortunately what gets me is the way the 2 bouncers treat me every time I come there. I understand they are doing there job, but what they are doing is being correctional officers instead of a bouncer. They swear at me and treat me with such disrespect that they end up ruining my night before I even go in. I love this place and would love to come back but I never would go back there on a weekend ever again unless they are gone.
Beautiful place... Unfortunately security staff make you feel unwelcome from the point you walk in the door. Its ashamed all that money was put into the place, and it will never see it's full potential as a night club due to the fact of it being ran poorly by security staff that doesn't care about the people or business enough to make it a destination..... I'm in the industry and have been for close to 20 years and it's the last place I'd have a party or want anyone I know to go to.... Great staff, but security needs someone in charge who knows how to run the show.... GOOBERS IS WHAT I SEE AND LOOK AT THE SECURITY STAFF....
Food was good, but I was wrongly charged extra for something I never ordered. The manager stated that what I ordered was an upcharge but no where did it say that on the menu. Even when the waitress tried to double check she couldn’t find it on the menu. Manager was cold and impersonal stating “We unfortunately cannot take the WRONGLY CHARGED ITEM OFF YOUR RECEIPT” . Surely won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend either unless you like being robbed.
The food wasn't that great honestly. We got the Mac and cheese and it was a little dry and lacking flavor. The pulled pork was good though. The buffalo chicken sandwich was dry as well. They fix in a gratuity of about 17% just as a heads up. Our waitress was attentive so no qualms there but still weird to have that fixed in when it's a bar with bar food...
When we walked in, there was an off-putting odor throughout the restaurant and we were glad to have the option to eat outside. The waitress was super friendly and attentive, I really enjoyed her service. The drink prices were not listed and ended up being VERY expensive. The cheesesteaks tasted great when we ate them, but we suffered after. The loaded curly fries were very crunchy, some were nearly burnt, luckily there was a lot of cheese sauce to help them go down. Throughout the night and next morning, both our stomachs were very upset, both of us waking up throughout the night with stomach pain. We will not be returning.
Phillys has always been our favorite place. Tonight it was one of the worst we’ve ever had. Not sure when the chicken tenders changed and the pot roast was not edible. It crumbled into pieces and tasted like cat food. Definitely disappointing. The smoked wings were decent but that’s about it.
We ordered dinners online to pick up. The meals were generous, but not labeled (cheeses were different on two similar sandwiches), and the burger was incredibly underdone. If we had eaten in it would have been returned. The same burger had toppings even though they were not ordered. Very expensive for this experience.
It's great they are so busy, with lots of activity to draw the crowds but the servers and the kitchen cannot handle it. It should not take 20 minutes for drinks to be served or over an hour for meals to be delivered. Live music is a great addition, however, when even their own staff says the music is too loud and they cannot hear the customers, pay attention to them, turn it down, help them do their job. The staff was very polite and obviously working as hard as they could, management needs to figure some things out to make it a better experience for clientele and the staff. I hope they do, It's a great spot. Thankfully, the quality of the food did not suffer. The style is pub food. Not a lot of flare to it but good.
Went there on Saturday night. It was decently busy. There wasn’t much communication apparently so we ended up getting 6 glasses of water. This table was a small 3 top. We place drinks and appetizers. Place our meals when the drinks come. Wings took a bit to come but were good. Maybe 30 min after finishing our appetizers no ones checked on us and we’re still waiting for our entrees. I ask the waitress timing 5-10 min later. At this point we are annoyed. Especially when people who were seated when we had our apps already got there meals. So apparently our order never went to the chefs, the manager comes out to tell us another round on them as they get that order going. We reject the offer because we decided it wasn’t worth waiting another 35-45 min for our meals. They took care of our drinks. Very nice but we left hungry and very disappointed. The waitress didn’t even bother coming back to apologize, didn’t even want to make eye contact. It was awkward to say the least. Ordered pick up with another restaurant
Took 30 minutes to get a waiter to come to our table to take our drink order. Took another 20 minutes for us to get our drinks and order our food. Atmosphere & food is cool but not worth waiting an hour+ before getting any food.
I want to love this place, I really do, my wife and I are die hard eagles fans and we know a good cheese steak when we have one, we committed to the hour drive to get there only when we walked in the atmosphere was bleak, bartenders barely looked at us and we sat for 10 or so minutes only to walk out and drive the hour and half home due to traffic. Very upsetting to say the least and to top it off we wanted to go celebrate my birthday so that was a HUGE disappointment. Very sad because this could had been our new place to make an exception for. We won't be back.
This was one of the worst meals I’ve had out! Waitress was clueless, food took forever! It was uncomfortably hot. Nashville hot chicken was so dry. Will ni”not ever return!
Food was gross , service was bad. Full of foul mouthed people. Unfriendly and awkward staff. Will never go to this place again. Waitress didn't even give us our proper change. She made no eye contact when giving it to us and walked away. Doesn't even deserve a star.
Still in the bar an hour after placing my order for one sandwich to go. I'm not sure if they are delaying my order on purpose to try and get me to buy drinks or if they are just making sit ins a priority, either way I'm watching people who came in after me receiving their meals while I wait. Edit: I asked when my sandwich would be ready and was told "it's been ready." When I am how long it's been ready she says she noticed it 10 minutes ago. So they looked at it, ignored it, and let it sit there getting cold. Their either idiots or jerks. Also I posted for my meal before I got the food, so I hope they enjoy that undeserved tip. If I want in a rush to get home (why I asked for it to go) I would have asked for a manager and chewed them out. So final warning, unless your a part of 4 buying several rounds of beer expect to be ignored.
I ordered a pizza, cheese steak & cheese fries. My pizza was a disgrace. It looked like it was dropped when I opened it. All of the toppings were off the pizza. I just waisted $50 on slop. I will not be ordering from there again....
The last time I was here the service was very poor. I decided to try it again tonight. I just left a few minutes ago without eating. I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me and ended up having to ask a waitress if I should seat myself or wait to be seated. Then after being seated we proceeded to wait 15 minutes before deciding to leave. For being packed all the time, their service sucks. Thoroughly disappointed.
The bar tenders were asked nicely to stop serving a few of my friends for the fact that they already had enough...and clearly did not have any regards for the safety and continued to over serve... when the owners lose there liquor license..they can blame there irresponsible bar tenders
Me and my friends were in town from michigan. They charged us 5 dollars a piece to get in and never mentioned anything about a dress code or a dress code change after a certain time. So when we stepped out for air and tried to come back in they asked for wrist bands. when we go up front to get wristbands they tell us we were out of dress code and couldnt go back in if that was the case why not refuse us at the door in the first place it was just really shady to me but the DJ was great he was the best part of going there.
The party of 4 I was included in this evening decided to go to Phillys. We walked in and it was busy, and that was understandable. We could not find a spot at the bar so we took a minute and sat at a table for two just so we could figure out what we were doing, or even if we were staying. Immediately one server and one host bombarded our table insisting we move to the dining room to eat and that we are not allowed to sit at any of their tables without ordering food. We were going to order mixed drinks. I am a waitress and i have never turned down a table for not ordering food. The host then continued to talk down to us and when I told her that I haven’t been somewhere where this has happened she scuffed and continued to walk right through us to talk to the server. They then rolled their eyes at us and sat us down in their dining room. We decided we wanted to leave because we felt very uncomfortable and very unwelcome. This was my first time ever coming here and now unfortunately my last. Philly’s will not get my service, nor my family and friends. I will never recommend this place to a person, coming from a bartender and server of 5 years.
This restaurant is gorgeous but this was probably the worst service I've ever experienced. Wow. There is no management going on at this place. The menu is misleading, when you ask for something that's clearly printed, they say "we can't do that." Our waitress got our order completely wrong. Almost everything we asked for, there was a problem. And we were only going by THEIR menu. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Do not come here. Waste of money. These people have no idea how to run a restaurant and it shows. At least we were with a group of friends so we could laugh about how terrible this place is.
Its an environment for certain people but not all, Staff very racist and rude We were allowed to enter with our drinks and no one said anything. Instead of being upset with staff that allowed us in. Me and my party of black people were treated hostile and i was kicked out for questioning the bouncers reasons for being unnecessarily rude. Even tho my party order multiple drinks and shots.
Just left there , Bianca bartender, totally ignored me for 20 minutes im a waiter at Denny's ,been going to Philly bar for years ,I asked her name and asked her what kind of music she likes,NEVER was trying to hit on here ,just being me ,friendly,oh well . I'm thinking not ever going in again ,wow watching reviews on the internet, guess I'm not the only one ,sad love the manager there
Internet says they open at 11. But they don't answer the phone. Their website doesn't let you edit the order. I guess they don't like money
Awful establishment as a whole. My party of 6 attended the Mayweather/McGregor fight tonight, and the service and atmosphere were terrible. Our drinks had barely any alcohol in them, but the food was okay. Not to mention that they only gave us plastic cups, not glass, meaning that things were getting spilled on everyone everywhere. Way to be cheap at your customers' expense. The servers and staff were screaming and yelling at people and acting very rude and aggressive. The party at the table next to ours was kicked out because they refused to pay for something they didn't even order, which the server brought to them anyway and charged them. The bouncers walk around trying to intimidate people and acting tough. The live footage of the fight kept cutting out, and the disco lights kept flickering on and off, causing headaches. Then, the waitress did not properly split our bill, resulting in a loss of our money and opportunity for her to pocket the extra cash. Lovely. The first time I went there, the drinks and food were disgusting. We sent back multiple drinks more than 3 times because they were terrible. Only went this time for the cheap view of the fight. We only have issues when we go, and will never return.
If I could give a 0 I would. Looks good from outside. Should have turned back when I saw the less than 4 star review average. Walked in and it was seat yourself. Sat down at the bar, not so much as a slight look to make eye contact. No greeting. Sat for a few minutes while the bartenders worked at a snails pace taking care of others and standing around. Needless to say I walked out.
Ordered the Americana Margarita pizza they forgot the pepperoni took it back in said we'll add it for u they added it like said but burnt it to a crisp then added extra cheese to hide the face that the pepperoni was charcoal. Sent an email out to them never got anything in response. I'm from out of state so they can't simply give me a credit towards my next order. I'm a big fan of Cup pepperoni n coal fired pizza but this was simply the worst I've ever had
I chose Philly's as a location for my birthday Happy Hour with coworkers and was completely embarrassed with my choice. The bar was packed, and the one bartender looked less than thrilled to be there. The wait time for a drink was no less than 15 min. The 10+ of us went out to the deck to stand by the gas fireplace which I was told would not be lit until after dark even though it was a little chilly outside and would have made it more comfortable for everyone. Not once did any waitstaff come outside to take drink orders or even acknowledge us. We had to run in and out to get drinks, again dealing with a crowded bar and ridiculous wait times for drinks to be served. This was my 3rd time at Philly's over the past few weeks and the service each time has gotten worse. You have to wave down a waitress because the one visibly running around completely avoids eye contact. The only employee I have witnessed making any effort to provide any kind of service is a woman with long brown hair that we guessed may be the manager. Long story short, our happy hours will NEVER be planned for Philly's again. The lack of service is absolutely not worth relaxing and ordering food and drinks on one of the nicest decks in the area.
I went to Philly Bar Restaurant on Saturday, May 18th 2024 between 3:05ish pm and 3:50pm. The service was TERRIBLE! This was my second time going to Philly with my partner. The first time we went was a very good overall experience. We sat outside on the patio at a high top, we got two beers and both were in 22ounce glasses. Yesterday’s experience was the opposite. Yes, again, we sat outside at a high top, but this time the first high top was falling apart so we moved to another one. Once at this new high top we got our beers in plastic cups unlike the glasses we got the first time. We asked the server about the difference and her response was, “this is what we do” and walked away quickly. However, it didn’t end here. Halfway through our time at Philly a group of 3 people (2 gentleman and 1 woman) sat at a high top next to us. Watching these 3 people interact with their server made it Cristal Clear that they either all worked together or at least know each out. This was further proven correct because all 3 of them got actual glass wear for their drinks. The first time we got food at Philly it was very good. We both got sandwich’s which were the Chicken BLT and the South Philly. The bread for both sandwich’s was nice and full and tasted great along with the entirety of both meals. Yesterday’s second experience both for the Chicken BLT and BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich were terrible. Instead of the nice bread like the first time we got dry sesame seed bun bread that was falling apart. The chicken was flat, thin, and small. The pulled pork was in a ball which told me it was prepackaged and if I had to guess heated up in microwave or something. The first bite I took of pulled pork sandwich was completely dried out which told me I was right. When the server came over to check on us we told her that the food wasn’t good, and the experience was terrible. After a couple of minutes the manager came over to us. She asked us, “what was wrong?” and my response was, “I’m not going to pick things apart, but overall the service and food was terrible. I even made sure to tell this same manager how she went over to the high top table of 3 people she knew by openly saying out loud (since I heard it) “guess who’s the manager today guys”, but yet the same manager told us that, “she’s just a fill in manager” and walked away. So what is her real role then? A real manager or a fill in that doesn’t help her guests? When this manager returned with my card she said, “I took care of your bill today” and she walked right away. Since we didn’t get a bill, we couldn’t get a receipt, therefore we couldn’t leave a review. However, here is that review. Philly staff, food, service, and experience were terrible! It might not be everyone’s experience and that’s good, but for us yesterday it was terrible. Just want people to be aware.
Very limited menu of bar food, not the best quality. The staff were cold and impersonal. The hostess never looked at us and seemed annoyed by our presence. Heaven forbid she crack a smile. Seating was uncomfortable and the atmosphere was outdated. No reason to return.
I came here because I saw a nice looking cheesesteak and seeded roll on the news. When I asked the waitress she told me "that was only for the news the seeded rolls" complete false advertising. I would give zero stars if I could disgrace you advertise something on the news you don't even have for your restaurant?
I literally will never waste my time stepping foot in this place again. My wife and I had wanted to try this place since we moved to Albany. So we just thought we would grab a to go order. I literally walked in to an empty dining area but completely packed bar with no room to put in an order. Stood there for 15 mins and asked 3 different waitresses if they could take my order. They all 3 told me, oh well just go to the bar and order even after I pointed out there was no place to go to make a to go order or empty chairs. Finally after the third time I got that answer I tossed the menu on the table and told them I would go someplace that actually wanted to serve customers. If I could give less than 1 star I would but they can be assured myself and anyone I talk to will never spend our money at this place.
I can’t express my dissatisfaction enough with the recent service experience at this establishment. The staff appeared to lack proper training in customer service and understanding of the overall customer experience. Our visit started poorly as we waited 15 minutes just for a drink order. After another 30 minutes without any follow-up from our waitress, we decided to speak with the manager. While the manager was apologetic and promptly seated us, we experienced an additional 30-minute wait without any server attending to our table. Additionally, I noticed that the table next to us was also voicing their dissatisfaction to the manager about long wait times and subpar service. As frequent patrons, this experience was particularly disappointing. I hope that steps are taken to improve service quality so that future visits can be more enjoyable.
I haven’t been to this place in 2 years and some issues I had with a few of the bartenders, they still hold onto the grudge. Sadly this spot is going downhill fast. They treated me with such distain and instead of giving me an opportunity to redeem my past they held onto how my old character was and won’t let me back in.
Waited 20+ minutes for menus and someone to take drink orders, another 20 minutes to get the drinks. Then we were able to finally order food. That arrived about 35 minutes later. The steak frites were cold and raw asked for medium well, wings were cold and gross which we sent both back. Then we went to pay gave our card which miraculously disappeared. Over priced and not so great food.
Absolutely horrible experience! I was in the bar late last night ordered food for pickup. When I got to Philly's around 11:30 I was immediately told by to the staff members that they were closing. Very rude bartenders as well as I was told there was no to go silverware! I then had to eat my food with my fingers.. not happy! I understand you have a closing time however you should not start trying to kick out your customers prior to the doors closing if you'd like to close at 11:30 then close at 11:30. I also was in the middle of eating my food which by the way was soggy and absolutely horrible! I found a big hair on my cauliflower! Now in all my years of customer service I would assume due to the situation that the bartender would have completely taken care of our bill however the only thing she did was apologize and take off one of the two items that I ordered! Completely horrible customer service! Me and my wife have been raving about this place for a few years now unfortunately I have to put on a very bad review! we are also going to have to find a new place for our date night out! Not what I expected! If you want our continued support you will try to keep your business in the facility not push them out!
First time here and the place is very small compared to online. I ordered the margarita and it was watered down couldn’t taste the liquor. The cauliflower General tso wings 10/10. My fiancé ordered the veggie burger and it was smothered in cheese. I had the buffalo garlic sandwich and it was a 3/10 for me. I told him I was ready to go because the food was mid. He took the rest of his burger home. Hours go by and he decided to eat the rest of the burger and found PLASTIC in his food ! Highly disgusted and left a very bad impression. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
