El Gallego Leganés Reviews
The food is fantastic, the homemade portions are generous, and the service is excellent. The price is normal, but you always pay for quality.
There were two of us without a reservation. We waited at the bar to be seated, and in less than ten minutes they got us a table, even though they were full. We ordered Iberian pork tenderloin and T-bone steak from Ávila with a mixed salad, and for dessert, chocolate crepes. Everything was excellent, with great service. The price, for being in the center of Leganés, is very competitive.
Excellent daily menu, with many dishes to choose from. They have various rice dishes, each one more appetizing than the last. We had the "arroz a banda." The service was also very good. The only drawback was that the dining room was very noisy from people shouting. Next time, in the summer, we'll eat on the outdoor terrace.
We went to celebrate an anniversary and couldn't have chosen a better place. The food was spectacular: the lobster rice, the fried fish, the cachopo... everything was top-notch! The waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the price, although a bit steep, was worth it for the quality of the product.
Ok 👌
Food here is cheaper and tastier than Starbucks. Coffee is more expensive though. And the WiFi is shotty
Great food.
It's always a good option to come and eat here; the food is quite good, the quality/price ratio is very good, the portions and dishes are very generous, eating here is one of our safe bets for a good meal.
We had a seafood and meat platter for dinner. The seafood wasn't fresh, or perhaps it had been improperly handled, as it was mushy. The second seafood platter arrived incomplete, and the waiter told us he had the rest on the grill (bring it when it's all done, as the platter isn't overflowing). Then he brought us the grilled prawns separately. The meat was good and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, and the food and drinks were prepared quickly. If I return, I won't order seafood; I'll probably go for tapas instead.
This is a great weekday restaurant. The menu is 20 euros per person. A Galician restaurant where you can eat very well, until you're stuffed. We ordered rice with octopus and cuttlefish, and it was delicious, and on top of that, a huge pot (we didn't finish it). The main course was the same, huge. They have many starters and main courses. 100% recommended.
We went to Leganés during the local festival to eat with a relative and we really liked this restaurant. It's true that we went without a reservation, as we hadn't been there before, but when we passed by, we asked if they had a table available. However, getting inside with a stroller and an elderly person in a wheelchair was quite difficult, so they quickly prepared a small table for us outside. Although it was a bit warm, with cool water it wasn't too bad. Our concern was that the elderly person might need to use the restroom during the meal and wouldn't be able to get down the stairs, but when we mentioned it, the waiter very kindly told us that if they needed to use the restroom, they could use the one upstairs for the staff (a very nice gesture, although in the end it wasn't necessary). We ordered a couple of appetizers and some main courses; everything was delicious and the portions were generous. It's true that during the festival the place was packed inside and the waiters outside were sometimes slow, but the food was enjoyable.
Good restaurant, good value for money. We ate downstairs for Father's Day, and personally, I would have much preferred to eat upstairs, which I think has a much more suitable atmosphere. They could pay more attention to a few details, mainly in terms of decor. But anyway, apart from that, overall, good value for money in terms of food. My only complaint is that a €27 "house specialty" cachopo doesn't deserve to be stuffed with bacon. I hope next time I find a good ham or cured beef inside. The cheesecake and mussels were delicious, and the fried food portions were generous. We'll be back. (I hope these reviews are helpful.)
Good bar. The staff is friendly and they put good size tapas with the drink. I recommend "cazón" really good but if they have from early on the evening, it will be a bit more soft.
Typical spanish place. You can have dinner with drink for 12,9 eur. Not bad. Very little choice for vegtarian.
Calidad baja a precio elevado. Pulpo frío y duro, marisco malo. El servicio sin comentarios y el local se cae a trozos, viejo y mal mantenido. Nos confundimos en la elección.
The dining room has the feel of a place from 50 years ago, with worn and disorganized furniture, and tables and chairs in poor condition. The food leaves much to be desired. The Galician-style octopus, which costs €24.50, was cold, haphazardly presented on a worn-out plate, and the potatoes were also cold. The filloa is a poor-quality crepe filled with cream; it shouldn't mislead customers by claiming to be one thing when it's something quite different. The croquettes were warm on the outside and cold on the inside, but they tasted good. I won't be back.
