Stela Leganés Reviews
Me gusta mucho ir a merendar churros con chocolate. Están buenísimos y a buen precio.
Buenos churros y porras en local de toda la vida. Personal amable.
We just stopped in for coffee. The two people behind the bar were friendly and attentive. Good coffee and delicious cakes, especially the carrot cake, and a generous portion.
It's a cafe I've known for many years. My friends and I used to go there to have a drink and watch soccer games. Yesterday we had hamburgers, patatas bravas, and waffles and pancakes with cream for dessert. They serve you a snack with your drink, which is appreciated. Everything was very tasty and the food was plentiful. The waitresses are very friendly and provide excellent service. It's a long-standing place in Zarzaquemada/Leganés, highly recommended. We'll be back.
It's a large café, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the breakfasts are very good, but it's very cold inside and the customer service could be improved. They tried to charge us twice, and when they realized we were right, they blamed us, saying we should have been more attentive.
The place is very nice. It's usually our family meeting point when we go to Leganés in the morning. Parking is sometimes difficult because although there are plenty of parking spaces on the street, it's usually a busy area lined with buildings, so you sometimes have to park far away or go around in circles. The place is nice and quite large. It has bathrooms downstairs and has a wheelchair for disabled or elderly people to go up or down. The entrance is at street level. We almost always go there for breakfast, and we always order tomato bars, churros and porras, or a grilled croissant. The only drawback I have is that they've accustomed their customers to waiting at the bar for their orders, so they don't bring them to your table. Whatever you want to order, you get up and order at the bar, and you have to pick it up there and bring it to your table. Otherwise, I think everything is very good. They also have a couple of high tables outside the place.
A decent place for an afternoon snack in the Zarzaquemada neighborhood of Leganés, as their prices are quite reasonable and competitive. For example, you can get pancakes or waffles for just €3.75, or a serving of four churros with chocolate for €3.50. The churros are fried perfectly and taste great. The hot chocolate isn't bad, but I've had better. Other positive aspects I'd like to highlight are, firstly, the excellent cleanliness and also the speed of the service, considering how busy the place tends to get. I'm not giving it a full five stars because the waiter, who initially seemed to be there to take our order, was incredibly rude, practically cutting us off mid-sentence and completely ignoring us. We called him again, and he rudely told us to "wait like everyone else." Luckily, another girl came to serve us and the churros, and I have to say she was incredibly nice and friendly. She was a great example of how this "waiter" could learn to treat customers.
Cafeteria, classic chocolate shop. It's a traditional café, still serving churros and, above all, the best porras in Leganés for over 30 years. Ideal for breakfast or a snack. They also offer takeout. They also have snacks and lunches, and they host celebrations, although I've never been to one. A fantastic atmosphere and service.
Good churros
I went for breakfast, churros and porras. The place is large and comfortable, even suitable for a large crowd. I was told the churros were very good, but unfortunately, I was initially disappointed when I arrived and saw that the churros were already prepared, and it wasn't done in 5 minutes, but in half an hour. They put plates on the counter with approximately 10 churros so they could be picked and served to customers. The same goes for the porras. The churros weren't bad, but they were cold and not very crispy due to the time they'd been made, which lost their appeal and made them like the ones you could order in any bar. The porras were the same, but the porra size was quite average. The price, in the end, was right for the quantity. 2 coffees, 7 churros, and 1 porra, €6.75.
The churros were pretty average; both the churros and the churros were exposed to the air, uncovered and not kept warm… They were stale, of course. The hot chocolate was very good, not too sweet and not watery… Coffee, hot chocolate, and 4 churros = €6.40, just to give you an idea of prices.
Excellent service. The churros are very soft, with a very pliable crust. Personally, I prefer them thicker. They're a standard size. The chocolate is a bit unusual, or at least it seems that way to me; on its own, it's not one of my favorites. Even though I didn't seem to like each item I tried, I have to say that when they were combined, they complemented each other and were quite tasty. Parking was pretty bad.
We went to get some churros. It took us a while to order, and the waitress gave us a sour look. We asked her to give us a few minutes, and after calling her three times, she finally came on the fourth. She told us they were out of churros, so we left. As we were saying goodbye at the door, we saw her bring out another tray of churros. We weren't happy with the service, and I don't think we'll be back.
The only positive is the well-organized and attractive premises. The rest is a shame. The churros are dry and stale, which is a real shame, especially considering it's one of the worst churro shops I've ever tried. The juice isn't entirely natural; you can tell by the flavor that it's mixed. The price is completely unjustified for the quality.
Hygiene and sanitation measures are sorely lacking. If the workers wore the required hairnets in the kitchen, I wouldn't find a single hair in my food. And the team's response has been nonexistent.
The food may be acceptable. The establishment may be fine. But it's worthless if the owner is rude, lacking manners, and making racist comments and personal attacks. It's not a pleasant or safe place if you're not someone the owner likes. Nor does the surroundings, given those scenes, do anything. The food isn't freshly prepared; it's stored from one day to the next, and it shows.
It's a shame about a cafe that, among other things, advertises itself on the front of the Stela churros in Leganés. Okay, let's go and order some porras and a café con leche. Being a churros shop, the porras are thin and, above all, cold. It's a shame about the establishment. There are hundreds of cafes and bars for cold porras or churros. I won't be back. A 0 rating.
