Estupendo restaurante a pie de playa. Merece la pena solo por las vistas espectaculares, el mar, bosques y al fondo los Pirineos nevados. El trato amabilísimo, lo de menos es la comida, pero si encima está rica como en Caravel la, es el lugar indicado. De primero sardinas y calamares, un sabor único. De segundo arroz. Finalizamos con la tarta de queso.
La comida muy buena. La paella de bogavante espectacular. El servicio muy bueno. Hay un camarero que se llama Josep que es muy majo! Un 10!!!
Buen restaurante para comer o picar algo, pedimos unos platos para compartir y la verdad que todo estaba genial buen sabor y cantidad justa para salir bien. Los postres tremendos sobretodo la tarta de queso y la crema catalana, el coulant era un poco normalito (parecía comprado). El servicio fue muy bueno, nos tocó en la terraza con las vistas a la playa y sin excesivo calor se estaba genial, sitio recomendable.
Restaurante con todo tipo de platos y situado frente a una cala en el centro del casco antiguo. El ambiente es muy agradable. Cenamos de tapeo y estaban muy buenas, sobre todo recomiendo las croquetas, súper sabrosas y variadas. De aperitivo te traen un gazpacho fresquito con unas olivas, muy rico. Buen sitio para hacer parada, eso si a precios de playa, es lo normal.
Es nuestro restaurante favorito! Vivimos en L’Escala y conocemos muchos sitios. La comida es perfecta! Dicen que es imposible comer bien en un restaurante con vistas al mar pero no es así 😀 Las vistas, ambiente y la comida… todo es excelente! Además no tienen un horario limitado que va bien para todos turistas. Lo recomendamos siempre a todos nuestros inquilinos!
¡EXCELENTE RESTAURANTE DE PESCADO EN L'ESCALA! Hemos comido en la terraza con vistas al Golfo de Roses, unas visitas EXPECTACULARES. Llegamos pasadas las 16 horas y podimos comer, servicio non-stop de cocina. RECOMIENDO: Anchoas de l'Escala con pa AMB tomàquet con Coca de vidre (12€), fritura de rape en una presentación ESPECTACULAR un rape entero rebozado con cabeza (la camarera nos quitó las cocochas del rape)y todo, con trozos de rape muy tiernos rebozados y trozos de calamar a la andaluza, con mango y aguacate cortado en rodajas con salsa picante al lado (29€), fritura de pescado 1/2 (14,50€). RECOMIENDO los postres: tarta de chocolate y caramelo (8,50€), tarta de turrón (7,50€). NO RECOMIENDO: Zamburiñas gratinadas (26€), calamares a la romana 1/2 (16€). BEBIDAS: Cerveza sin alcohol (2,90€), bitter kas (2,90€), té negro Darjeling (2,50€), en el apartado de Varis, deduzco que nos cobraron la bandeja de pan que no pedimos y que no probamos (2,50€). Fue la primera vez que hemos comido aquí, VOLVEREMOS la próxima vez que tengamos a l'Escala, teniendo en cuenta lo aprendido en esta reseña. (Sabemos lo que Pediremos, lo que NO PEDIREMOS y vigilaremos que no nos pongan pan para que no nos lo cobren) En su conjunto ¡RECOMIENDO EL RESTAURANT LA CARAVEL.LA EN L'ESCALA!
Muy buen servicio y sobretodo muy buena comida. Buscábamos el mejor sitio en L'Escala para comer paella y dimos con el sitio adecuado. Pedimos la Especialidad de paella con bogavante y fue realmente una de las mejores paellas que hemos comido. Los postres y el vino también de calidad. Repetiremos si volvemos a l'Escala.
Comida y trato excelente, pocas veces he comido así de bien. Si comes de tapas no es demasiado caro y disfrutarás de platos diferentes a muy buen precio. Os recomiendo encarecidamente que probéis los mejillones a la marinera, el camembert con champiñones y los huevos rotos.
Buen sitio para comer bien. Trato y servicio muy bueno. Los platos de calidad. Muy buenos productos y muy bien preparado. Ejemplo las almejas muy bien guisadas, si una pizca de arena. El arroz de bogavante para repetir. Los taps preparados de manera muy profesional y con un sabor para recrearse en él. Gracias y enhorabuena al personal de este restaurante.
Local frente a "la platja" de L'Escala, donde hace muchos años varaban las barcas de pesca, pero que actualmente es la playa del casco antiguo de la localidad. Muchos locales en esta zona tienen buenas vistas al mar, pero escogimos La Caravel.la por ser el más fresco de todos, cosa importante con el calor actual. También porque era un poco más caro que sus competidores, porque cuando se es algo más caro suele ser por algo, y efectivamente lo notamos para bien. Tomamos unos mejillones a la marinera sabrosísimos, de esos que te comerías la salsa a cucharadas. Luego una brandada de bacalao en salsa de piquillos de la que podría decirse lo mismo. Suelo preferir la brandada cuando es un puré suave; aquí es más bien bacalao desmigado, pero así es como lo prefiere mi mujer, así que perfecto. Después unas sardinas a la parrilla correctas. Habíamos decidido comer de raciones, pero los arroces que se servían a nuestro alrededor casi nos hicieron cambiar de opinión, porque tenían un aspecto inmejorable. De postre pedí un Super Lemon Pie. El merengue, la crema de limón, la base de galleta machacada... ¿cómo describirlo? Es un postre de esos que después de la primera cucharada te quedas en silencio, con los ojos cerrados, las manos entrelazadas y caes de rodillas postrado de hinojos mientras gruesos lagrimones ruedan por tus mejillas y tú das gracias por poder degustar algo como esto. El sorbete de limón que te sirven con este postre, también muy bueno, te sirve para poder volver al mundo real. En fin, que vayáis, no lo lamentaréis.
La mejor paella que he probado nunca. No os podéis ir de la Escala sin probar la pedazo paella que preparan en este restaurante, sabor espectacular, arroz al punto, el marisco fresco súper bueno… sin ninguna pega. El pastel de queso también de los mejores que he provado en toda mi vida, artesano, súper cremoso por dentro, sin ser excesivamente dulce y el acompañamiento de la bola de helado le queda genial. Además los entrantes también perfectos. La única pega fué el tiempo de espera porqué estaba todo lleno y tardó un poco en salir la comida, pero sin duda valió mucho la pena.

Had the last dinner of our holiday here. We have been several times over the years and it never fails to impress, whether you want to wander in off the beach for a simple lunch or push the boat out with a gourmet meal. Our waitress Raquel was very friendly, professional and kind. The food was superb - great flavours, fresh ingredients, classic Catalan dishes done very well. We will always come back here when we are lucky enough to stay in beautiful, joyful L'Escala.
We recently had dinner here, 2 nights during the same week. The food is of a high standard and well worth the money. We were a party of four and everyone remarked on how good the food was. The location also adds to the ambience as it a frontline beach. If you are looking for guaranteed satisfaction this restaurant is well worth a visit.
I don't think this place is going to ever win one of those stars the tyre man gives out to people like old Ramsey, but that shouldn't be the only measure of a place. I've been coming here for years and it has never once let me down. The food is great, service is amazing, they always hire pretty girls and handsome boys, the coffee is excellent .... But the view and surrounding atmosphere is what really makes this place special. You're in the heart of the old town, right by the beach (girls in bikinis!) and now they have re jigged the traffic situation you can sit out there for hours people watching, stress free, in nice chairs... What more do you want people???
The food in this place was out of this world!!! The paella with lobster was amazing and the calamari, and mussels were some of the best ive had (I am catalan) I can completely recomend
This a great place, definitely a bit more expensive but it is worth it. The outside section is nice and even has a complete cover and fans to keep cool. The only think that sadly doesn't line up, Is that the little lights that are embedded in the cover (which are really nice), are, for some, right over the fan, which makes the light feel like a strobing light but if you ask, they will turn it off and it's fine, they have enough light to see anyway, it's just nice to have as well but I could see enough without it.
We had an absolutely delicious dinner here. All staff were super nice and the experience was exceptional. The seafood was the best I've tried on the Costa Brava. We returned the next morning for breakfast and that was also a cut above the rest. This place although on the seafront is not a tourist trap. There were plenty of Catalans eating here too. Whenever I return to L'escala, this is where I'll be coming to eat.
Great food and good prices. We had the €19 menu which comprised as main course a huge paella. We were sitting outside with sea views and social distanced tables. The staff are very nice and the food is served quickly and efficiently. I will definitely come back for more!

Buen trato y situación espectacular en primera línea de playa, comimos ostras, grandes y sabrosas, una ensalada de verduras original y gustosa y paella. La paella le faltaba sabor, la esperaba mejor.
En general el restaurante está bastante bien, se come muy bien la verdad. Debo decir que las Patatas Bravas (acompañadas con 3 salsas), están buenísimas (a casi 8€). El pan que sirven es también muy bueno. Lo que me queda la duda es de si mi CARPACCIO de GAMBAS de ROSAS, es de ROSAS (ojo, estaba bien, correcto) . La gamba que hay encima es congelada (por las partes resecas blancas que hay encima, y que y sepa la gamba de rosas es muy roja). Mi paella de arroz negro, también estaba muy bien, pero al remover el arroz, por debajo tenía el color como de una paella sin ser negra (como las que se comieron algunos compañeros mios), ligeramente tintada....(arroz reaprovechado de una paella no vendida?). Todas las que he comido de arroz negro, siempre ha sido 100% negro. Los postres bien, a casi 8€ el postre. Éramos 9 y pagamos 406€.
Tuvimos suerte de encontrar la cocina abierta a las 4 del mediodía. Pedimos 4 entrantes y de segundo arroz caldoso y huevos estrellados . Lo mejor fue el arroz sin lugar a duda. Los huevos estrellados muy aceitosos y con mucha patata. Los mejillones también bastante sin más. La terraza es agradable ya que se encuentra a primera línea de mar
Restaurante con vistas a la playa. Servicio muy amable, atento. Nos han servido un vasito de gazpacho nada mas sentarnos y pan (que han cobrado si preguntar si queríamos) la ensalada de queso de cabra muy buena. La paella en su punto justo, con pescado fresco, la sepia en su punto también. De sabor perfecta. Relación calidad precio un poco elevado pero merece la pena por el sitio, la comida y el servicio. Muchas gracias por trabajar así de bien a las cocineras y camareras.
Un restaurante con una buena y variada carta de platos y de vinos. Los arroces están muy buenos y la crema catalana espectacular. El servicio rápido y profesional. Buena relación -precio.
Restaurante de cocina mediterránea en L'Escala. El jamón muy rico, el calamar buen sabor y presentación, el turbot que pidió mi amiga también estaba bueno, color blanquito y bastante fresco. El sashimi de atún correcto. Precios elevados pero merece la pena, lo recomendaría para cenar en el pueblo.
Un restaurant con excelente ubicación, vinos muy sabrosos y excelente atención. La comida muy rica, pero el tamaño/cantidad de los platos no está acorde con el precio. El arroz caldoso y la paella estupendos de sabor y cantidades aceptable, sin embargo, de los platos con pescados no puedo decir lo mismo sobre todo de la cantidad por el precio que tienen (esa fue mi experiencia). Quizas no siempre es asi.
No salía el menú en carta, hemos preguntado y nos han servido un menú acorde con la categoría del local. Todo un acierto.
Restaurante muy recomendable, excelente relación calidad/precio en un ambiente acogedor y con una ubicación privilegiada, con vistas al mar y a unos espléndidos atardeceres. A destacar el servicio cercano, amable y muy profesional de su empleada Sara, muy solícita y agradable, siempre pendiente de los clientes y célere en el servicio. Nos vemos pronto!! Fantastic view of the beach and people walking by, good view, poor service, took ages for our drinks to be served while we waited for our meal, waitress spoke no English, didn’t seem keen to help!
Food is not bad at all, the restaurant can get a bit noisy as the table is so closes to each others. The dover sole was pretty good. Service wise is efficient enough in Spanish standards but lack of attentiveness or friendliness.
Patatas bravas was not worth 8 eur, coz I tried them in other places made more special and cheaper. Octopus was a lil bit overcooked and chewy, but buratta salads were amazing.
An unexpectedly great restaurant at the main square so rounded with tapas bars and turística traps alike ! They even listen to your requests on how you would like the fish! Give it a try! Thank you Emiliano, you were great! We will come back because of you!
This place is very central and top location in L' Escala, thus busy. Food is good but has its price. Probably worth reserving as it gets busy
Despite the water front location and 'welcoming people', it's not a tourist trap. Friendly staff, good food. El pescado dela abuelita is strongly advised!
We had a pleasant dining experience here. As the 8th best restaurant in L’Escala it lived up to its promise, however it didn’t have a wow factor.
Only had coffee here but it was very nice. The restaurant is set with a lovely beach and on a sunny day it could not be better. The restaurant was busy and the service was very good.

It takes one hour to be served and the food was cold and not tasty. We ordered seafood and it was expensive and not good. After complaining they made a 10% of discount but sorry, I won't return.

Horrible food, dirty dishes.. Service plates was dirty from other dishes, we told them they said sorry and picked it up. Salad should have some vinegar sauce, they have put PLAIN Yoghurt 😂 instead of the sauce. Nothing we ate was nice they also fully charged everything which was funny but we really didn’t have the motivation to fight for it.. Proper tourist scam, never again
I ordered a grilled fish and received something else. Seems like they try to group orders or simply don’t understand their own English menu. Regardless food was not good.
High prices do not match the quality. Here is the most awful tapas and paella in the world. Paella was burnt. Tapas are not tasty. I said my bad impression to the staff. No reaction. It is a tourist place where you spend money just for the sea view and you get a terrible food.50 euro money down the drain. Don’t recommend this place. :(((((
