La Piroga Levanto Reviews
Had the shrimp pasta + al frutti di mare per their recommendation and both were great! Also had lemon cake and tiramisu (w complimentary limoncello) and they were so surprisingly light, not too sweet, and the perfect end!
Great young team full of dedication and passion for their job! Amazing twists in ligurian traditional dishes. Try the fritto misto!!
Ignore the people whining about anything unrelated to the actual food. The service was lovely, but unfussy. The food was simple and excellent. We went with the fried anchovies, a side salad, the pasta with pesto, and the whole Ligurian fish (in believe it was John Dory). The tiramisu for dessert was airy and creamy, and left us satisfied. Everything was perfectly cooked and unpretentious. Compared to what we ate in Corniglia in Cinque Terre last night... well, there really is no competition. Half a liter of Cinque Terre white, and complementary lemoncina after dinner, really hit the spot. If you aren't looking to charge your phone, someone to hold your hand, or perfect English, then do yourself a favor and eat dinner here.
I dined at La Piroga two nights in a row with my parents and auntie, as we were visiting Levanto, just as Italy was opening up after Covid19. We were greeted nicely by the owner who kindly accommodated our request to sit outside (the weather wasn't great so they added some extra umbrellas). The seafood was excellent, fresh and came in large servings. I asked for some alcohol free beer and since they didn't have it on the menu, the lady went to the nearby cafe and pick one up for me. The seafood salad and the fish of the day "a la ligure" were exquisite. Also the Spaghetti alle vongole deserve a shoutout. Overall I recommend la Piroga and its honest and friendly staff
We had our New Year’s Eve dinner here. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were abundant. The waitress was very kind and had an impressive knowledge of what pregnant women are allowed to eat. She went above and beyond to make accommodations for my pregnant wife’s meal.
Little but nice. Very kind waiter. Good quality of food with large portions. I had appreciate my dinner and above all the first dish with shrimp, zucchini and saffron.
Not good value, way too expensive for a mediocre pesto pasta. Swordfish and salad were average at best. There are better options and value in Levanto.

Cannelloni with pesto, they were tasty. The right flavored pesto sauce. Spaghetti with tomato sauce was acceptable. Appreciate the fact that they agreed to prepare them, because they were not on the menu. The pork chop in butter and wine sauce, with the "garnish" of french fries, a disaster due to the fact that they were soaked in fat and tasted like gas. The person who served us, I think he had a bad day, was even happier when we left him tips. We left the restaurant with the flour full of the smell of food.
Terrible food, the smell was horrible and a really bad service, the waiter was rude and angry... don’t go there and do a mistake…

Food was fine, but 15 euro for a small pesto pasta is ridiculous. We waited 20 minutes after sitting without being given a menu, and they had the audacity to charge a 2.50 per person cover. Absolutely would not recommend. There are many better places to eat in Levanto.
Do not go! Absolutely DISAPPOINTED! After a hike we wanted a quick aperitivo with some pasta. The waitress who appeared to be the boss was unfriendly to the point of becoming rude when we didn't order the priciest things on the menu. Mind you, I asked when being seated of the vegetarian options! Our portion of pasta appeared to have been reduced because we apparently didn't order enough. Taste was good but the atmosphere and treatment ruined the mood, and at that of two hikers who arrived with ober the top happy faces. Might look nice but absolutely WOULDN'T recommend. Taking the restaurant's reply into account: we stayed half an hour because of the unfriendly treatment and the sun setting, that's why I specifically remember the time we spent at the table. This is not how to treat customers. The table was unoccupied and other tables were emptying out. We ordered aperitivo and food which accounted to over 30 €, not 13€ (which was the mini portion of pasta) because you pay 5 € for service. For one of very few times in my life I'd have liked to give a negative tip. If customers don't feel like ordering two meals and are limited by the amount of seafood due to diet, it still shouldn't change the treatment of staff. Unprofessional and not even apologizing for the inconvenience.. suit yourselves. The pasta was overpriced for the amount we received too - maybe because they reduced our portion..
I went there august, 15 The behaviour of the server (girl) unpleasant. She deconnected my phone from the plug in front of other customers, and told me that i can’t charge my phone here. It’s the first time that this happens to me. I was shocked, i needed to charge my phone to take the road to france after eating I’ll never go there again.
Restaurant is not very welcoming to English speaking guests. My girlfriend called to book a table but was told there was nothing available. My Italian friend tried to book a few minutes later and there was a lot of availability for him. When we arrived the waitress was also rude to us. The food was good but I would not go back
Price-quality for the food was good; however, the service was TERRIBLE. I called to book a table for 3 friends and Me (I spoke in English) and the women who picked up my call told me that everything was booked for that night, without giving me any other options for times or anything. I told my friends what happened and one of them, who speaks Italian, decided to call and try to book a table. The same women picked up and gave us a table for the time that we wanted. Already making me feel like if I wasn’t welcome there. We arrive to the restaurant and loads of tables were free, why didn’t she want to give me a table? Maybe for the fact that I was clearly a tourist? When the waitress arrived to take our orders, she said in a rude and sharp way to me that she didn’t speak any English, which was a lie, she did speak English and she did understand me when I was talking. It is a shame that the service is so terrible because the food was actually nice; however, I wouldn’t come back or recommend this place. Both women (I am not sure if they were the same, but they were probably) ruined my mood for the night.
