Visiting the area and was at the Target which shares a parking lot with many buildings one of which is this A&W / KFC. I can't remember the last time I visited an A&W. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger combo with a root beer. They make the root beer in-house and it's delicious. It was a decent burger. I'd go again just for the root beer which they sell by the gallon I believe.

Had the spicy papa burger and it was great! Also had the cheese curds which were very good as well

Meh! I love A&W Root beer so, I told my boyfriend I wanted to try it. We spent $20 on a meal. He got a coney-dog, and I got a cheese burger, we also got a rootbeer, and the cheese-curds. He said sonics coney-dogs are 10x better, and my cheese burger was nothing special, actually it tasted like In-and-Out's burger ( and I don't care for them ). The cheese curds on the other hand, were delicious! If you like mozzarella sticks, you will love those! I'd go back just for the root beer and the cheese curds. If you want a good burger, go to Whataburger ;) (The staff was really nice though!).

They need more workers.

Good food is disrupted by many errors in fulfillment. One of the few places you can get a Double Down still. Also possible to get it with cheese curds!

Asked for meat and cheese only on a double cheese burger and got pickles and ketchup/mustard. Ugh! "They f you in the drive thru, always go in cuz they f you in the drive thru." -Chris Rock

This is one of those restaurants where they share space with another. I think it's either to save money on rent or so your french fries taste like fried chicken. I'm leaning towards the chicken flavored fries, cause these folks delivered! Boom! Another great review!

Lost two pounds eating here. Had an enjoyable puking session afterward. Girlfriend also lost two pounds early the next morning when A&W's magic burgers took effect. Wonderfully delicious both ways.

My family had a semi large order, and the food was ok from KFC. The cod basket I ordered from A&W was not cooked well, had an unpleasant taste and extremely small pieces. I also did not receive my drink, or any sauce for my dinner. This is our first negative experience with this store.

The food is good here but outrageously expensive. $3 to upgrade sides on a combo to cheese curds and $2 to upgrade to a root beer float? After forcing me to buy a double when I only wanted a single. It’s weird that you don’t have a single patty burger combo, only the double. If your drive thru screen worked and showed prices before hand I would have bought the sides and drink separate instead of the double combo I thought might earn me a discount. And no grilled chicken at the KFC? Ended up spending $42 for two adults and a one year old.

So, I went online, and we looked at the menu and had it all figured out what we wanted. We drove 15 minutes to the closest A&W Restaurant to us. A&W Root Beer is still as good as it was when I was a kid. The Onion Rings and French Fries are good. But from there on let me set the picture. This is not an A&W Restaurant. As a franchise, they do not serve the menu listed on A&W Restaurants' national website. I often wonder who at the Corporate of A&W Restaurants draws up the contracts. They obviously never learned the meaning of “Brand Identification.” Because being fair this is not the only Franchise we have run into that does the same thing. There are a lot of them. So, we regrouped, and I ordered the Cheeseburger Combo, and my wife had the Bacon Cheeseburger Combo. We did our best to eat them but upon much discussion we both agreed that having tried every fast-food burger there is in Texas, that we know, these two burgers were by far the worst burgers we had ever eaten. There was plenty of meat, but it was tasteless with no flavor at all, and my wife said she believed it was old hamburger meat to boot. My nose is not that good. The bun was untoasted and became soggy due to excessive sauce and wet toppings, causing it to fall apart. And that was before we picked them up out of the wrapper. It was absolutely a total waste of money. It was right at $25.00 for both of our Combo meals. The Restaurant itself was clean, and counter staff was competent if not overly friendly. I do not know how the KFC rates, which is also part of this building but other than the Root Beer, Fries, and Onion Rings, stay away from A&W. You will be disappointed. We sure were. We give them two out of five stars, and it is Root Beer, Fries, and Onion rings that rate that much.

We just got rootbeer floats.One was overflowing and spilled all over us. We then tasted them, they were flat or out of syrup in the rootbeer. We told the manager who was running the window, he tasted the root beer from the tap and shrugged his shoulders. We didn't even drink them because they were so bad. Thanks pal.

Just watched the drive thru employee and the lady behind us get into a screaming match over whether or not a plain and dry cheeseburger was a hamburger or not. I can’t imagine keeping a job after that display. Everyone else would have been fired on the spot. Couldn’t even leave the drive thru. Absolutely Wild employees. Definitely not coming back after watching an employee threaten to fight someone over that. How can you work at a place that sells burgers and not understand that the difference between a hamburger and cheeseburger is literally whether or not they have cheese?

🤢🤮The cod was rotten and undercooked. 13 hours later I was puking everything out of my stomach. Everyone else in my car tried and bite and had the same opinion and experience. If you are going to be served undercooked, rotten food, there's no reason to ever try to go again! 🤢🤮

We got the chili fries which were good but the burger was tiny and had absolutely no flavor. If we do go back it will only be for the floats.

We weren’t ready when we pulled up and asked for a minute to decide. The woman audibly sighed, she was super rude. We decided to leave and just eat elsewhere. It was surprising. I was so polite at first.

Ordered 2 chili dogs and the guy who took my order made me wait at the first window for some reason….when I got home I found out why. The chili was black and I ended up throwing the food away. Stay away from this location.

Food was decent but the absolute worst service you'll find around town. They were very rude and I had to get my order fixed 3 times due to negligence.

So this was my first time going here. They took forever to make my order. Fries were fresh, burger cold, And stale!! Then the manager got an attitude when I walked back in to get my money back. . never again

The lady cashier Martinez is the rudest cashier ever. We ordered a rootbeer float and when it came out it wasnt in a mug. So my hubby asked why it wasnt in a mug and in a takeout cup instead. She answered that we didnt specifically say so. So my hubby asked, isnt it supposed to always be in a mug? And she replied, "i could not have read your mind". Wow. Instead of offering to change to customer preference, she chose to be rude instead. Such customer service in this place!

This place sucks pretty bad. The last 2 times I've been there I ordered a A6 and asked for tomatoes onions and lettuce and both times I never got that and I asked them even at the window and he said he would make sure of this issue

Came to A & W Rootbeer in Lewisville to treat my daughter to a root beer float today. They literally have no root beer, and won't for another 45 minutes. There is no way to exit the drive thru. Disappointed.

I went today and got the A1 combo and it was so nasty. My burger was cold, my meat was over cooked, cheese wasn’t melted, the bun was old and hard and my fries were burnt

First time coming here, burger was not that good. Fries were good if they would have put ketchup in bag.

The people working there do not care about service. And their homemade rootbeer recipe is not as good as store bought A&W; it used to be better than store bought.

Rude staff that acts all put out if you ask for anything. They got the customer's order wrong in front of me and blamed the customer and didn't even offer to make it right. Plus, they were out of root beer. Customer service is horrible!!!

It was raining, and we were in the middle of ordering when the guy just stops responding. We pulled up to the window and there was nobody in sight.

The service is bad and the workers spoke bad about my friend and me in Spanish because they did not think that we understood english plus they never open there doors any where close to the time that there sign shows

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Went in for a quick bite to eat with my family & it was NOT pleasant. Asked about the Papa Burger, what kind of sauce they use, they had no idea what it was. How are you gonna serve this to your customers & not know what is on your burgers?? Their response, "They only send it, they don't tell us what it is" So that was a no on the Papa Burger... We ordered our food, I had to tell the guy 3 times to not put veggies on mine. What do I get? Veggies! Oh, and mustard. It doesn't come with mustard, only mayo.. So I bring this to their attention. The woman who seemed to be in charge started talking in Spanish and laughing, while staring me down. There were bugs on the window & the tables were somewhat dirty. Save yourself the frustration, don't. eat. here.

I went back to get it fixed and they took my stale hotdog and just put chili in it. I asked them to remake the float and they just plopped for ice cream in the one I handed back. The chili was super salty and the hotdog was nasty. Just don’t go here. It was my first and last time trying this place. Extremely lazy.

The line behind me got angry enough thinking I was the one holding up the line to start honking and swearing at me. No one came on the intercom to let me know to keep waiting and I was trapped in line. By that time not only did I just want to leave because everyone was getting upset with ME for not yet having my order taken, I had to get back to work. They finally came back on to take my order ten minutes later when the person ahead of me left, and I told them everyone behind me is honking at me thinking the hold up is my fault, and I no longer had time left to even get lunch. What a disaster. They need some management assistance. From the looks of the rest of the reviews the service sucks at this location probably because of the poor management. I won’t be back. They don’t deserve to be paid my wage. This was at the Lewisville, Tx location, drive through.
