I regularly visit this Sicilian restaurant, a surefire choice when I want fresh, well-cooked fish or when I want to enjoy a special dinner. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The interior is simple, rustic, clean, and comfortable. As for the menu, it's short, just as I like it, with a limited selection based on the freshest ingredients available that day. It's not just fish: the chickpea panelle, the parmigiana, and the beautifully crafted desserts—from Sicilian cannoli to my beloved crema catalana—are definitely worth trying. I appreciate the respect for the ingredients in every dish: fresh, delicately cooked without overdoing it. The wine selection isn't extensive, but it's interesting. For me, dining at this Osteria has become a truly enjoyable experience. I can taste the delicious flavors of the South. Recommended!
A very pleasant surprise. Two of us had made reservations for dinner in December for a birthday. Although we were about half an hour late, despite prior notification, it was no problem. The entire team is very young, almost entirely under 30. The wait staff is very friendly, approachable, and helpful, coming to our table several times throughout the evening to make sure everything is fine. The atmosphere is rustic and typical of a tavern, but very well-kept, with historic tuff walls and lovely paintings adorning the interior. The dining room is divided into several "sections." We were in one of the more secluded ones and had a wonderful time with no noise issues, despite the occasional friendly disturbance in the room due to the presence of a few families with occasionally lively children. It's worth noting that some sections of the dining room, like ours, can sometimes be cold in the winter, but in our case, the air conditioning was on and was blowing nice warm air, which also reached our table directly, so we were fine. The dishes were excellent: the octopus salad was perfectly cooked and cooked to perfection, the panelle were excellent and hot, and the involtini were very flavorful. The olive oil served at the table appears to be of excellent quality, but it must be said that the bread served, while plentiful, isn't particularly tasty. They could do better, perhaps even serve it fresher. The first courses were particularly generous (the photos don't do it justice), very rich, and truly satisfying to eat. We recommend the gnocchi with fish ragù and the spaghetti with sardines, truly with a distinct Sicilian flavor. The octopus from Il Sale (the main course) is cooked very well, leaving a texture that's NOT rubbery but rather soft and flavorful, and its bed of puree is equally excellent; adding a little more octopus would have been the icing on the cake! The desserts are perhaps a bit of a weak point on the menu; they're certainly classics, but they're not particularly imaginative, and most of them are made outside. The chef's cake, made in-house, that evening was a pistachio cheesecake, a wonderful combination of sweet and savory. The prices are absolutely in line with what you get, both in quantity and quality, and the staff is chatty, friendly, and very welcoming. We'll definitely be back!
Today I had lunch at this Sicilian seafood restaurant, and the experience was truly superb. I chose the gnocchi with fish ragù, the prawns, the panelle, and the cannoli to finish: everything was incredibly fresh, with authentic, well-balanced flavors. The location is simple but very beautiful and welcoming. The staff, made up of young women, was highly knowledgeable, professional, and always attentive. The wine was also excellent, pairing perfectly with the dishes. Authentic seafood cuisine, prepared as it should be. Highly recommended!
A true gem for seafood lovers!! I was truly thrilled!!! As soon as we entered, we were greeted with great warmth and professionalism: the staff is attentive, kind, and always ready to offer advice. The menu offers a selection of the freshest seafood, carefully cooked and impeccably presented. The "sea gems" appetizer was out of this world!! In fact, all the dishes we ate were exceptional. We were only disappointed not to have dessert because we were so full, but we would have loved to try it because if so much is so much, the desserts had to be something special too. Full marks, quality and portions deserve 10 out of 10!!!
Yes if you like first class seafood for a fair price go there!
Lovely Sicilian restaurant close by Como Camerlata. The dishes are outstanding and service really good. Amazing place for who loves fish.
I’m writing while my emotions are fresh and not blocked by other vivid impressions. It was mega tasty and pricey. Yes, this is not a cheap place, but you won’t regret the money spent. Mixed grilled fish is my favorite. If I come back again, it will be for this dish. If you, like me, are not an expert in wine, then order Prosecco, and you will be pleased.
Friendly service and very good food.
Number one in the world😍
Very nice place, people are friendly and kind.We eat the grilled fish it was very good . Thank you we have a wonderful evening.❤
Fish quality is perfect!!! And the owner is so kind.
I went there on Sunday evening, the place was really welcoming and the staff attentive. I would reccomend the Spaghetti Sarde and the Grigliata Mista, top notch quality! I will for sure go there when back in Como
Great food! Delicious starters! A classy Italian place.
We enjoyed the food; the pairings were interesting, and the octopus was also very tender. The ambiance is very distinctive with exposed brick, although some details seem a bit neglected. Personally, I found the music playing a playlist of '70s Sicilian singers a bit annoying, but that's just the right amount. The service is basic. The wine selection is a bit limited. Good value, especially considering it's a seafood restaurant.
We went for lunch. The quality of the ingredients was excellent. The price was perhaps a little high, but it was worth it, so it's a bit of a no-brainer. Appetizers: The shrimp tartare was delicious; perhaps there was a little too much orange. First courses: Perfectly cooked and with delicious toppings, top notch. Second courses: Tuna with cipuddata was spectacular, truly impeccably made. Desserts: We had tiramisu, which was too sweet. I didn't like it very much; perhaps there was too much mascarpone and not enough biscuits. Coffee: Not up to restaurant standards (just the price). It wasn't anything special. Aside from the dessert and coffee, everything was perfect and delicious. My compliments to the chef here too. A truly excellent discovery. I'll be back.
