Herb Home Lompoc Reviews
This is Officially My Most Favorite Thai Restaurant, their food was the best Thai Food I’ve had. My Wife lived in Singapore and has experienced the food scene in Asia and was also impressed by the Quality of this Restaurant. There were Covid Restrictions but I’m so glad they use disposable utensils and plates. The staff was friendly and helpful and we made sure we returned our thanks with a generous tip. Thank you Herb Home Thai Restaurant! 😊👍🏻
Have seen this place every time driving through and finally decided to give it a try, let’s just say I was not disappointed. The food was so delicious, and you get what you pay for. I had the Pad Thai dinner special and oh man was it good 😋. This is now one of my favorite local Thai food spots for sure. Aside from the food the staff was very friendly and attentive definitely service with a smile. The restaurant itself is very nice I love the decor felt like a very warm environment will definitely be back again!
Small type of place, I believe the daughter is the server and the dad is the cook. Open concept kitchen with glass windows. Looks like they do a lot of to go/door dash. We both got the dinner special, yellow curry in the photo. It's a decent amount of food for $22.95 but pricing seems to be on the higher end.
I’ve tried so many Pad Thai’s in the area and this is one of the most flavorful ones so far! Their wontons and vegetables were amazing! Definitely got my money’s worth, recommend coming here for dinner plus the server was very sweet as well!
Great little place, friendly staff, and nice restaurant (wish covid was over)... and no kidding the best pad thai I've ever had!!! A little pricey compared to others I've had but well worth it. Portions are decent size, also the thai iced tea is really good too. Definitely one of my favorites when I'm passing through lompoc so yes i would absolutely recommend it!
I was so pleased with the Tom Kha Gai (coconut broth soup with chicken). I added extra veggies and rice noodles. I admit they’re a little pricier than most Lompoc restaurants but my soup was bursting with fresh herbs like kaffir like, galangal and tons of veggies. It’s the perfect soup when you’re under the weather or wanting something flavorful and veggie forward.
Delicious food at a good price. We came here for a late dinner and I got the cachew chicken dinner combo. Because of it's reduced price, I was expecting less food, but boy was I wrong. It was $12.95 and included a generous full serving of cachew chicken, a choice of a few types of rice (I got egg fried rice), a small cup of soup, two fried wonton appetizers, and a fried egg roll. This was a lot of food, and all of it was great. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice too, with quiet, soft acoustic covers of modern pop songs. We would definitely come back again.
This place has the best Thai food in town! Their Thai iced tea is amazing!!!
Great service and food. Very fresh. The best orange chicken I've had in town.
Amazing food! Outstanding service!🙂
Best real food in town.
Always soooooo tasty and heartwarming with friendly service. Yellow curry that feeds the soul. Also, the Pad-see-ew and Thai iced tea are amazing!
Best vegetables soup ever and the coconut ice cream omg 🍨 🤤🤤 delicious. The waitress was very attentive, friendly and helpful.😊
I come here very often. Food is great! Very comforting. Soups can be spicy !! Thai tea is so good I get one to go. Friendly environment.
We love their meals. When we have noodle craving this is our go to. They now have some of their sauces bottled the Sweet Chile is our favorite, you can order online and have them shipped. They are so kind and great service.
I have searched far and wide for a good Golden Fried Tofu, and Herb Home is the ONLY restaurant that makes it outstanding! If you're a tofu fan this is the Thai restaurant for you. The ambiance here could be better, but isn't bad given the fact that its an old converted Taco Bell, the food more than makes up for this however. The curries are delicious and I haven't had a bad experience here yet. They do have pick-up available, and as they are usually short-staffed, this is probably the quickest way to get your meal. The food is good, the quality is great, definitely check it out if you're craving Thai in Lompoc.
Been coming to this restaurant since my husband and I moved to town a few years ago. The service is always friendly, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend the curries, but all the food has fresh ingredients and packed full of beautiful flavors! Never dissapoints!
So happy to have finally visited Herb Home. I was impressed, first off, with the cleanliness of the restaurant. And the young lady who waited on us was very helpful with the menu questions my friend and I posed to her. But most wonderful was the food. The flavor, freshness, and authenticity made our meal a delight!
I hate how much I love this place! The food is so incredibly, frustratingly addictive. The Thai ice tea is despondently decadent, the chicken satay is excruciatingly exquisite. The staff is so horribly good and friendly, I can't stop giving them my money. You all are so atrociously awesome!!!
I was really craving Thai food and happened to find this place on the way. We ordered the Spicy Fried Rice and Noodles — both were absolutely delicious! The dishes were loaded with fresh veggies, full of flavor, and the portions were huge — easily enough for two people to share one dish. They also have plenty of great vegetarian options, which made it even better.
Small family owned / run restaurant. The food clearly is made w love. Very yummy. Prices are a bit higher but typical for California. Excellent vegetarian (and vegan) options. Loved the lunch special - just the right amount of food
My girlfriend and I got two dishes, curry chicken and rice, and then spicy noodles with beef. It was enough for three people maybe four. Cost was just under $45. No matter how you cut it, it was a good deal for the amount of food that tasted exceptional. My girlfriend and I were out all day and we were thirsty, so I asked for a carafe of water which came with our two tall glasses. When it came time to leave, our waitress boxed our meal up for us. Service was excellent
I really liked the food, had the noodle soup with beef and there was a good balance of beef, noodles, and bean sprouts with a good spice. Service was great too, good waiting time with occasional check ins. The atmosphere was pleasant as well, calm music and was empty while we were there so relaxing.
The servers are kind and fast. The food is delicious. The restaurant is small but cozy. When I order for pick up, my take out order is ready exactly when stated. It does take time to make the delicious items, so be sure to put your order in advance to give the staff time to make it.
This has got to be the best Thai eatery I have experienced. This restaurant specializes in home cooked, made to order meals. Because everything is made fresh, there is a bit of a wait time. I was there recently to pick up an order, which took over an hour because so many people were either coming in to eat, or stopping in to pick up food. That sweet young lady behind the register was getting bombarded with everything, including irritated customers. They have a help-wanted sign in the window. If I lived here, I would help them. It's a wonderful family business with good people and I hope they will soon get the help they need to provide a smooth experience for the customers. I highly recommend this restaurant. Please keep in mind everything is made fresh and it is worth the wait!
We had a wonderful meal here on our visit to Lompoc. This is a truly excellent Thai restaurant, where the food is made with 100 percent fresh ingredients. The waitress was very friendly, taking the time to explain the various dishes to us in detail so we could make the right selection. The taste of the food was amazing, about as close to home cooking as one can find. Very highly recommended!
My friend took me here for my Birthday. Very special! First time to this restaurant. Ordered the Spicy Chicken ~ most excellent! The food was prepared from fresh items. The service was great! Treated us like family! I highly recommend this restaurant! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The staff was excellent. It's a nice cozy place. We ordered takeout. They answered all my questions about their menu. They ran out of an item and asked me what I would like in place of that item and it was great. Food was hot and delicious.
Lovely family-run restaurant, with a large menu of very nice food at reasonable prices. Ask to see their vegan options, I get the feeling they can do many dishes vegan with tofu if you ask…
Great, fresh food. Served steaming hot. Perfect for a cold, rainy night. Lots of options, including vegetarian ones. Nice atmosphere. But the service was very slow on a Friday night. (The restaurant was quite full. But there was hardly a wait to be seated).
Very good food, but to go orders seem to take priority of in house restaurant patrons. There were 2 people working the front of the house, including putting the to go orders together, running the register, seating people, answering the phone and waiting on tables , order placement, and delivery of food and bussing the tables. seems there were 3 people running the kitchen and they too were backed up. Maybe it was an unusually busy evening, but it is evident they were struggling. One person dedicated to answering the phone and handling the to go orders and register, would be a smart thing.
Super cute little place. Clean. Generous portions. Ordered fried rice and it’s plenty for two people. Service was friendly and quick. They also serve wine. Good place. Would come back if back in town.
All dishes we tried each visit are delightful as they are freshly prepared and cooked. Service is very good until restaurant gets packed and orders for pick up pile up. Waiting is longer. Suggest to dine in early.
This location does not offer a military discount. Pretty good food overall. While the service from the waitress/hostess was good, the service from the bus boy was very poor; he was no friendly and either did not like my family or just doesn't relate well with people in general.
The place isn't bad, but it's not much to look at and the food is mediocre for Thai cuisine. I got the yellow curry lunch portion which was alright, but I think it was overpriced for the portion and it was kind of bland. I also came with a few friends and it was strange because there was at least a 5 to 10 minute gap between us all getting our food.
Expensive for a local restaurant. Serving size was big but the taste was far from the Thai restaurants I’ve eaten before. Pad Thai was too sweet and too salty and sour. It tasted like they just put a sauce on it. Satay chicken was too dry. Thai iced tea was too sweet and was different from the ones I’ve tried before. I was craving for authentic Thai food but it was not worth it. 😩
Not a fan. Comparatively expensive, and seating was slow -- we stood for 20 minutes, even though there was a large table that was empty. At least this gave us time to peruse the menu, so we knew what we would order! They said the empty table was reserved, yet it remained empty while we waited for a table for 3, finally got seated, waited 10 minutes to place an order, 20 to get our food, 30 to eat our luke warm meal, and 10 more to get our check. In total, we were there for almost 2 hours to get luke warm, but tasty food. Our bill was $70 and we didn't buy drinks. I'll not return, since there is another Thai restaurant in town that is excellent.
This place is average at best. The fried rice was very pedestrian and the egg rolls taste like they were previously frozen. With limited options in Lompoc, this place is worth a try. More on the expensive side. Food taste/quality definitely doesn’t match the price tags.
We came to visit, and we were a party of 16. It was a Sunday, and it was not busy at all. We order and it took an hour to be served, and during the waiting they did not come back to notify, serve more drinks, or provide an update, it looks like the servers were also cooking. Pad Thai served were over spiced, as well as rice. Food is overpriced. We should go to the steak house or Mexican restaurant instead.
This place is outrageously priced for the area and for less than mediocre food. Total take out bill for an appetizer and two entrees was almost $60. The chicken wonton appetizer was great, hence the 2nd star. The chicken in the pad Thai tasted old and so did the eggs. The old chicken taste overpowered any "herb" taste or anything else in the dish. No peanut or lime garnish. One whole dish inedible. The beef soup was just that. A $20 soup that is extremely ordinary. Beef, green onion, noodles, and broth with no real unique herb or spice taste. "Special" broth tasted simply of beef and fish sauce. Too disappointed to eat that, too.
Suvan's is the superior Thai restaurant in town. The pineapple curry was decent. The pad Thai noodles tasted like it was drowned in ketchup. Way too sweet and tangy. Too much sugar in both of these orders. Also, $44 for 2 entrees.
The service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice too, clean and relaxing music. The beeping from the online orders was loud and obnoxious. The food was a let down unfortunately. I ordered the orange chicken lunch combo. The rice was cold, the soup was described as chicken with rice yet had no chicken and no rice, just vegetables. The orange chicken had a nice flavor, but the ratio of batter to chicken was 10:1. Some of the pieces had no chicken inside of them at all. Obviously it is cheaper to serve a plate of batter, but disappointing to the customer when there is no chicken in the orange chicken...
The atmosphere is nice. The waiter seems friendly when you enter. The food was okay. Orange chicken was overly sweet and the Tom yum soup was over salty. Probably the worst Tom yum soup I’ve ever had. Food was mediocre overall. The chicken also tasted and had a weird texture which made me think I wasn’t really eating chicken. Did not seem like fresh Thai food the seafood in the Tom yum was fishy. Never got offered a refill which I needed to wash down the overly salty food. I asked to keep a menu to order dessert but the waiter not only took our menu away when we asked to keep it but gave us our check before asking if we wanted dessert. First and last time I eat here.
We placed an online order and went to pick it up. They had us sit down and over an hour later our order of two dishes and an appetizer still wasn't ready. We received no communication from the staff. No apologies. They didn't even offer water while I waited. Save your money and time and go anywhere else.
The food was quite ordinary. We had ordered chicken wings and grilled barbeque chicken. The chicken dishes were very bad. The chicken was not fresh, very old and hard and chewy to eat. It seemed like they had just pulled out premade/ precooked frozen chicken and reheated it. My son had a hard time eating it and he is not a fussy eater. Plus the prices were ridiculous on par with a city like San Francisco. I was amazed that such sub standard food commanded such high prices. Overall not a pleasant experience.
Twice over one month we have ordered food from here. Once they quoted us a time and then we sat in our car for 35 mins after the quoted time. The second time we called in and requested it be a specific time (an hour ahead) for pick up, which they said was fine and to have us come in to pay. They had me pay then told me to sit in the parking lot... for 20 more minutes. Their food isn't good enough to justify this trend. Hope you all have a better experience.
Most expensive Thai food in California, $50 per person is of high class 5* restaurants. I have wasted time ordering in a cart to find out they now require you to take a PHOTO of your payment card. What an outrageous violation. The food is good but nothing is worth being hassled to pay your money for.
So ordered thru doordash, not there fault. Had ordered from this place before and they made exceptions for what we had asked for. I asked they give no rice and add more ribs for this order. If they weren’t going to do that they might as well give me rice. This plate came with same amount of ribs and no rice for same price. I wasn’t asking for a full plate, just no rice and a few more. This place is not the same
We went in to have dinner and we don’t drink soda. We like ice water with our meals. We ordered dinner and asked for ice water and we’re told we couldn’t have water unless we paid for bottled water. Never had this happen at a restaurant before. Ok understand they like making money, but making you spend money to have water is going a bit too far.
I was really excited to try this place after seeing so many amazing reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. I ordered the crab cheese wontons and a kaarage bowl, and both were disappointing. The wontons had barely any filling—just thin, fried phyllo with almost nothing inside. It felt like a joke. The bowl was unexpectedly spicy, and I wish the menu had noted that. I’m very sensitive to spice, so it was frustrating to receive something I couldn’t enjoy. Clearer descriptions would go a long way in helping customers make informed choices. Overall, I was really let down. If I had served this to someone, I’d probably be fired. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for.
