Its a walk from the station. The first time we went, we had the 10 course taster and it was really good. Our return visit wasn't as great. Chef on a bad mood that day then.
I went to One Bleheim Terrace for dinner with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday last year. It was on a week day evening so the restaurant was relatively quiet, and as a result there were only 2 waiters. During our meal, two strangers walked into the restaurant, one started talking to the waiter at the reception area, and the other one came by our table and started asking us for spare changes. We simply ignored the guy and continued chatting among ourselves. And all of a sudden the guy just ran out, and it was at the point one of us realized the guy took one of our phones with him. We chased out, only to found that he drove off with the other guy who was chatting with the waiter at the reception area in order to distract him. Then a guy who appears to be the chef came out from the kitchen and said he's everything recorded on CCTV and asked us not to worry. Policy was called in and we gave all the details. Afterwards we were told my the waiter not to worry and they would sort something out. So we continued our meal despite the unpleasant event. When the bill came the waiter said nothing about the incident and when we asked what they are going to do about it, the waiter then said the owner is aware of it and will get in touch with us the next day. We then asked if we could speak to the owner, and it was at that point we were told that the chef from the kitchen was the owner, and he had already left. Absolutely shocking, after seeing his customers getting their phone mugged, he just left the restaurant for the day without say anything to his customers? And guess what, the next day he never called. And when we called to ask for a resolution, he said he has consulted his lawyer already and was told that he is not legally responsible for anything, it's unfortunate what has happened to us, but he can't do anything it. So this is how our fine dining experience in a Michelin recommended restaurant ended up. You do not expect people asking you for spare change in a fine dining restaurant, you do not expect to have your phone mugged, and you do not expect the owner of a restaurant of this calibre treats his customers this way. Avoid this restaurant people.
Staff were hilariously rude at a birthday evening. Food was good but overshadowed by chef's arrogance and general dislike of customers...Or so it seemed to us.
