Tilted Kilt Long Beach Reviews
Legendary Long Beach restaurant for a reason. Can't order wrong—everything is great. Really easy for large parties. Lunch specials are such a deal. Always leftovers. Everyone on staff is great too. Wouldn't be the same without Mary!
Amazing and pleasant experience. I was pleased that they offer halal food. Looks like the place is very popular and people do not hesitate to travel an hour from any direction to eat. The fact that we ate on a Thursday and was pretty packed. I like king pao chicken a lot. Keep it up guys
Nomads is always top tier. NEVER fails, one of the if not the best spot in Long Beach. Coming here with a big group is always a must and you never always have enough food to go around. This is one of the few spots that reminds me of times during my childhood, when every restaurant offered top tier food, service, portions, everyone was kind, the atmosphere felt kind, warm and lively. The food tastes stupendously amazing. The service here always goes above and beyond. Overall 110/10. The only thing you'll need is more space for the food to fit onto. 😅
Best Asian food and great courteous staff. You will have to order after you come in, but the service was quick and portions are huge. Ask the staff if you have doubt on the quantity. They are very friendly. Loved the experience.
Went with a few colleagues for lunch today and had a good time. The food was delicious, the service was fast, the workers were polite, and the ambiance was good.
Unassuming restaurant in a quiet corner of a pretty sparse mall; the kind of place that you'd walk past and not notice it. I'm sure glad to have found this place! We came here during the lunch hours and they serve lunch specials 7 days a week! While we were browsing the menu, one of the wait staff came over and checked on us if we were ready and asked if it was our first time there (yes). She recommended getting a couple of items from the lunch menu if we like to have a few dishes since the portions are pretty big and the lunch items get you the most bang out of your buck. Very sound advice! The lunch menu featured a good selection of dishes and we ended getting the honey walnut shrimp, filet mignon with black pepper sauce and kung pao three flavor (beef, chicken, shrimp). Each dish came with a soup and either white/brown rice or upgrade to egg fried rice. We got the egg drop soup as well as the hot sour soup and they were both tasty! We upgraded the egg fried rice and wow... quite impressed with the egg fried rice here. I was expecting the usual plain, white, mild egg fried rice but what came out was a brown-ish looking egg fried rice that's just so tasty! Of course the main dishes themselves were also outstanding! I really liked the juiciness and black pepper flavor of the filet mignon, the crispness of the walnut shrimp and the umami of the kung pao three flavor. I definitely would recommend each one of these dishes. We also got the fresh pressed ginger ale, which is the perfect, refreshing thirst quencher! Tasty food and great service.. what's not to like!
This halal restaurant is busy, really busy but still you can get your food quickly, the filet mignon was the best Choice, my kids love this dish so much. Satisfying amount of food per order, one order you can share at least 2 people. Cleanness can be upgraded and should add more working personnel, at least they should put someone at the front/welcome desk who can help guests to give guideline. Atmosphere is nice.Overall this place is worthy.
I like their Mongolian beef. If you go there during lunch time from 11-4 pm(except holiday) you can get lunch menu. Main dish, come with rice and soup options.

We had the BEST experience here tonight. Mary was our server and she was absolutely incredible. So kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. She made the whole meal feel special. The food was phenomenal. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. As someone with celiac disease, it’s honestly rare to find a Chinese restaurant where most of the menu is gluten free and clearly understood. That alone is amazing. I felt safe eating here and didn’t have to stress, which means everything. Huge thank you to Mary. We will absolutely be back.
This is truly the best Asian food in California. It is one of two restaurants that I will eat. High quality ingredients and lots of genuine care for quality and experience make this my favorite. The General Tso takes me back to childhood! Love you people for your commitment to quality! HUGE portions as well, I would be absolutely fine if the prices went up to ensure continued quality.
Hands down, one of the best halal chinese food in the town. All of their menus are delicious and satisfying. Top notch customer service and magnificent ambiance. Must try food place without breaking your bank.
Bustling lively atmosphere in a spacious restaurant with space outside where a group prayed the sunset prayer with rugs available for that. Alhamdulillah, the food had a distinct, original, authentic flavor and was delicious — every bite. Wonton soup. Mixed dumplings. Honey ginger chicken. Filet mignon beef with black pepper. Didn’t order drinks or dessert. Kids received complimentary Sprites. I think if they must play something on their TV, it should be consistent with the theme / culture / cuisine of the restaurant. Didn’t like that John Hughes movies were on the screen when I looked up from my plate… Overall, highly recommended.
Amazing Chinese Halal food with large servings, so its a reasonable price for me. Mongolian beef and Orange chicken are the best! Loved it! Restaurant is clean and there are prayer mats for those who wants to pray! Definitely authentic Chinese restaurant 😋

Authentic Chinese Halal restaurant. Worth the stop on the way to Long Beach Marina. Large dinner portion. We order 5 five items serve family style. Sharing plates. Lunch portion good size too.
I'd driven by Nomad Asian Bistro for years and finally tried it after a review I'd seen on YouTube. My first impression when walking up to the front door was this place as filthy as the front door? Was the inside just as Bad? No, but the place looked like it hadn't been painted for Years. Do yourself favor and give it a fresh coat of paint. That was all taken away when we met our waitress, Mary who was delightful. She made our dinning even more memorable. Thanks Mary! Just to let you that if I owned a business you'd be the first person I'd hire.

Good food sometimes inconsistent. Portions seem fine. Friendly staff. They seem to always close too early for us. Overall, a good place to eat. I recommend everybody try at once.
I visited Nomad Chinese with my family during a trip to LA, looking for halal Chinese food. After a 30-40 minute wait on Christmas Day, we finally got a table. The service was slow—our waiter arrived after 10-12 minutes, and the food came in 3-4 installments after another long delay. We specifically asked if they could make a couple of dishes gluten-free. The waiter confidently said “yes, no issues.” However, when the food arrived, we discovered that not all items were gluten-free—confirmed later by the kitchen supervisor. This miscommunication was frustrating, especially since their website claims to cater to dietary needs. The food was fully halal and above average, but the poor service, lack of attention to food allergies, and inaccurate website information left us disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re desperate for halal Chinese food with no other options. It’s overhyped and not worth the wait.
Szechuan Beef Stew Noodle Soup is excellent! Authentic and delicious. Handmade Chow Mein is also a must try. Flavorful and generous portion. Orange Chicken was on the dry side. Crispy Beef Roll was bland. Service was off, and the cleanliness of the restaurant just needed improvements.

Ordered takeout. The orange chicken was the best I've had, i loved that it wasnt super sweet. The egg rolls and friend rice were also fresh and piping hot on delivery. The NOMAD Short Ribs were pretty bad. The meat was tough and it had a really bad after taste. I would not order again

The worst place to have food, the service was horrible, the food came out in stages and our kids stayed hungry for 15 min waiting for noodles after we already finished our food. No one came to check on us, they just dumped the food and left. We had party of 20 and the place was not even busy yet the the service and the food was below standard Chinese takeout. Save your time and money and order takeout from any Chinese restaurant.
It was horrible experience. I can’t eat all the foods that I ordered. I ordered Hot and sour soup, Orange chicken, Beef teriyaki, and Fried noodle, which was not tasty at all. The meat quality is not fresh and too chewy to eat. Their service is not good at all as well, and the restaurant didn’t look clean. It was greatly waste of my money and time. I would say never come here. There was no Chinese, which means a lot.
Save your money and don’t come here 😅. The water tastes straight up from the sink. The chili oil is bad. The iced green tea is not that great either. I ordered the salt and pepper seafood. These tasted like they did not batter them properly like still a bit floury on some pieces. Some pieces were fine and others had too much salt and pepper. Although it wasn’t that great I was working on finishing my plate until I found a hair in the sauce that comes with it 🥲. I mentioned it to the waitress but she didn’t seem to care and just brought a new sauce. I lost my appetite after that so 💁♀️. My husband and mother in law ordered the beef noodle soup. It was pretty much tasteless. The only good thing about the soup was that the beef was soft. Only pros: easy to find parking, can accommodate strollers if they do not have a full house. Cons: food tastes terrible, waiter can take a long time to take your order. They don’t stop often to stop by and see if there’s anything wrong. Women’s restroom does not have a diaper changing station. My stomach has already started hurting and I just left the restaurant 🙃.

Walked by early one morning and they had their backdoor open and there was a woman preparing bowls of chicken ontop of these tubs sitting on the floor. Food was maybe 2 ft off the ground when their counters were perfectly available. Too used to doing things in their country to abide by American health codes I guess.
