I took my gf here to celebrate life, a dinner experience. We were greeted warmly by our waitress, escorted to our seats, and seated promptly. the vibe was incredible! the restaurant is a hidden gem in DTLA. It is tucked away, and the staff was on point. the food was so fresh and tasty and the drinks were perfect. she loved it! we will visit again soon!
This food right here! Amazing and delicious! I ordered the big plate of Oxtails as well the Jerk Shrimp Bowl and they are Heavenly! Wow! Try tried the Beef Patty and was wowed again. Planning to eat my way through the whole menu! 😋
I visited from out of state. Jordan was our server and he did great to be the ONLY server. The food was good as well. The only suggestion is to add on the website that the 216 location is closed on Saturday. If you aren’t a local, you wouldn’t know that. Overall I would visit again!
The oxtail Mac and cheese was out of this world. Absolutely delicious, as were our drinks! I will say when we walked in it was a bit unclear if we just seated ourselves or report to the hostess.
Ambiance 10+ , vibe was everything. The crowd was diverse. The bartender is the G.O.A.T... Periodt...The server was polite and very attentive.. Music and Rum punch was flowing . TV's had the games playing and even played a little reality TV. Now the food was Superb, mouth watering GOODNESS..Lawd have mercy...Hidden Gem at best.Had the jerk salmon and shrimp with plantains cabbage rice and beans. Also the jerk Mac. And jerk shrimp and grits... Loved every bit.. Hands down this place is an absolute must try and go back again...
Excellent. Food is authentic and beautifully presented. Drinks are aesthetically pleasing and delicious Service was on point and constantly present! The restaurant is relaxed lounge style dining . TOP 5 for LA! Black women owned!!!!
Just had an Amazing veggie bowl over at @abeautifullifejamaican. The jerk sauce was spicy and flavorful and the portion/ price was decent @ $13 which isn't bad for the area. The service was on point with hella cool staff and a chill environment. I dont eat out a lot but I'll definitely come back here when I'm down for some spicy food.

First let me say, it was refreshing to be in a space with no drama with all the liquor flowing😁. The food was immaculate, everything was well seasoned and came out hot and fresh *as it should have for the wait*, but my four stars is for the service and forced tip; the waitress we had was amazing and very attentive *as much as she could have been* there were plenty of other staff walking around, dont know what there jobs were so don't wanna speculate. There is a mandatory 20% gratitude added to EVERY CHECK no matter the size of your party. The food is already "expensive" so adding on a 20% gratitude, expect to spend more. I don't mind the gratitude but that should be left up to the patrons, when most of the time those tips are pooled and the waiter or waitress helping you won't even see the entire tip. *even though I additional tipped my waitress graciously*, she deserved it. The Oxtail mac was hot, bubbling The Salmon and shrimp, seasoned but over cooked The curry and jerk chicken, great and slightly spicy*obviously* All was amazing Would I go again, yes, just with a larger party to make sense of the added 20% gratitude
I had a enjoyable experience at this restaurant even though the food was delayed, The Jerk Mac n Cheese was delicious, the food was fresh, I could see the steam and the right kind of spicy . The Beef Patty was another item I would recommend. I recommend anyone in the area should stop by .

We tried a variety of their dishes and food was good overall! Tried the Chicken bowl, samon bowl, curry chicken, mac n cheese and a couple of their patties. A couple of complaints I have are the following: 1. I ordered online. My receipt said to pick up in 40 minutes and I was there after about 50 mins. They had no idea what I had ordered. I had to give them my order and they started cooking it then, so I had to wait another 15 minutes. Very disappointing. 2. The mac n cheese we got was very spicy which was not described in the online order.

THE FOOD WAS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE $$$$ THE RICE AND BEANS WAS DRY THE CHICKEN WAS OVERCOOKED THE CABBAGE WAS VERY SALTY AND THE OXTAILS WAS LIKE A DOG'S TAIL WITH A BUNCH OF FAT ON IT. THE SURFACE WAS GREAT THE ATMOSPHERE WAS LOVELY BUT THE FOOD WAS BAD THE ONLY THING WAS GOOD WAS THE SHRIMP AND FRIES. I'M VERY SORRY TO SAY THAT BUT IT WASN'T WORTH OUR TRIP THERE AND IT WASN'T WORTH OUR MONEY THAT WE SPENT LET'S JUST SAY $500.00.

The esthetic is nice and music is okay. The food was not good at all I spent 65 dollars and ate 4 bites. Callaloo was burnt, rice was undercooked, and the Ackee And salt fish was like porridge 🤦🏾♀️. I could go to Dat Moi Market and make all of this myself for a fraction of what I paid and it would taste better. Our table was so small the server couldn’t fit everything we ordered.
Nope. I am Jamaican. Would not recommend the Jerk Chicken. At all. Maybe the other foods are okay but that was my first time and I doubt I’ll be going back. I’m normally quite generous with ratings. But they should not call that jerk chicken. The sauce was like a weird pepper sauce with a black pepper base. (It literally did not taste like jerk sauce). Like a real yaadie, I asked for gravy on the rice. BAD IDEA. Then I couldn’t eat the rice too. The best part was the plantains. 0/10. Sorry.
Just bought the jerk Mac and cheese from their food truck. Mac and cheese is really dry and salty. On top of that, they only filled up the bowl halfway and the bowl is really dirty. Waste of ten dollars. So disappointed

So disappointed to spend my hard earned $42 on this mediocre meal. I usually follow my first mind and don’t waste my coins on a place with 3.5 stars. Saw the reviews, didn’t read the comments. This was my 1st time here today around 5pm. I walked in & after 10 minutes of standing there I got the attention of the bar tender after I was never greeted. Should’ve been my 2nd sign. I order the oxtails that comes with rice & peas, cabbage & plantains. Got my food & 1st thing I noticed was how small this to go container was. I opened it & literally saw 2 small oxtails & 1 of those skinny size one, small size of rice & peas w/ some cabbage sprinkled on top. I should have asked where was the rest of my food because at best this was an appetizer size. I didn’t want to be an a hole so I paid & even though I order it to go I gave a $2 tip. It’s a Black establishment & I knew I was NEVER coming back or recommending this place EVER. I live in Orange 🍊 County so by the time I get on the freeway and started eating, I realized they NEVER gave me the plantains. FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE, bad service, OVERPRICED, UNDER PORTIONED, & cheated out of what all I paid for. This is only like my 4th review I’ve ever done in 10 years. HORRIBLE experience and I’m Upset that I didn’t follow my first & second mind. NEVER AGAIN
I was excited to try Caribbean fine-dining style, but for what we paid, the mains did not live up to the cost: high price food for an average meal.
Food was mediocre overpriced a wate of $50 and couldnt even get the Cocoa bread done correctly. Don’t like bashing black businesses but proceed with caution
Ordered two jerked chicken entrees and everything was old and salty. Rice was a literal brick. Ordered mac and cheese and it had zero seasoning. I would never waste my money here again
They advertise bowls, vegan plates, healthy-friendly sides — but when we ordered, the options were limited and the waiter tried to upsell the expensive entrees: felt like scamming service, trying to push us into the high-cost items.
The sides are mostly fried and heavy, which makes me believe the food is fun but definitely not healthy, and that’s a shame because I was deliberately trying to pick a lighter option.

The male staff serving me had attitude as if i was not welcomed Its like every Caribbean restaurants hires people tha hate working It’s a shame 15$ for 2 pattys that he microwaved quickly
