Campos Tacos Los Angeles Reviews
The hubby and I were passing by and seen Campos Tacos and decided to grab some food. The hard shell taco is great full of flavors and I can't wait to dig into my Gordita. The hubby sticks to his usual bacon cheeseburger 🍔.
I love, love their food. Super meat nachos, hard shell tacos, quesadillas. Story of my life 😋
Grew up in the neighborhood and can't go wrong with anything you buy here. I would highly recommend the huevos rancheros.
My husband and I came in craving some traditional Mexican crispy tacos, and we left absolutely delighted. Perfectly crunchy, topped with just the right amount of cream, guacamole, and cheese. They were so good I ended up eating six — that’s how tasty they were! The service was quick and friendly, the place was clean and cozy, and the food had that true homemade flavor. We’ll definitely be coming back. 💰 My husband and I spent around $30–50 total, and it was worth every penny.
Full salsa bar, fresh made horchata and Jamaica. Staff is wonderful and I've never had a complaint about anything on the menu. There's always a soccer game on and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Amazing food, clean and cozy quiet Their breakfast boritos are very delicious 👌👌
Food here is superb! They are quick, clean and fresh! The only down side can be parking g but don't let that stop you! Go around the block and you're sure to find something! We always take out as it's close to home but looks pleasant enough to eat in! Very friendly people!
Both times I have eaten here, the meat is always tender, veggies are fresh, the salsas are chunky. This place is great Mexican food. My picky eater likes the crunchy chicken tacos. I really like the burritos with the enchilada sauce and then nachos were enough for 3! Don't pass them up, they're yumptious!
Very cute, laid-back neighborhood spot with very very delicious food!! Great salsa bar. I went in to have a burrito, I didn't need to wait at all in line, and the food came up very fast! They even give a little side of chips with the burritos. I would say the burrito is large and very filling for a grown man. That was awesome considering how reasonable the price was. The salsas taste very delicious .They play soccer games on TV sometimes too. Great neighborhood spot! I definitely will come back soon.
The hype was off the charts, so I had to go check it out. In all honesty, the tacos 🌮 were 5 out of 10. Not the best. The service was ok & the atmosphere was cold. Would I go back... probably not... but if you're in the area, check it out. Don't let me discourage you. This was just my experience. ☀️😉
Who would have thought - a breakfast burrito withOUT cheese? And could you try a little harder with the "home style potatoes?" Seriously, just a few more mins of cooking & you get these (bottom pic) - NOW they're home-style, since I fixed them - at home!
Not all nostalgia makes sense. Just because the avocado burrito at Campo's was a revelation when I was a teenager, does not mean that it will make the same impression now, some 30+ years later. It's not bad, nor particularly good. And I guess I mistakenly grabbed a mild watery salsa at the salsa bar. The horchata was also watery. Campo's is an old school Westside chain that now seems a little dated.
I’m writing to inspire : because we are really hungry customers who are paying a lot of money and we are never getting full. 1 out of 999 dining experiences I have had (and it was the best one) went like this : 85 pieces of sushi for 56 dollars. The two choices of sushi were California roll and spicy tuna roll. The dish rolled out like a special occasion all at once there was a lot of food. 1.) I knew there was enough 2.) I knew I would be full and so would my boyfriend 3.) it was fifty six dollars 4.) everything I needed was there on the table no asking no needing no waiting, and all of the 85 pieces, too. 5.) the vegetarian rolls were comforting for some reason 6.) I could go out and have a cigarette and come back to continue eating 7.) I had no where else to be 8.) it was hot outside and it was cold inside 9.) the bathrooms had faucets that turned on and off manually 10.) They gave an orange as a free desert which had been cut into art. 11) There was abundance and the workers must have known magic. That was May 2025
I usually have good experiences here, the food is great, haven't had an issue with that. I come here weekly, I like supporting the small business. Tonight was not the same. I ordered the same burrito I got last time and it was half the size. I got the guac on the side like last time and got a tiny container of it. I pointed out that I got a bigger one last time, and the kid just tells me that the one I got is what I get. I could hear them saying "I bet you won't do it" "I just did" after I ordered my food. That makes me think they're doing something to the food which honestly made me not want to eat the burrito I ordered. I know one of them from my old work which makes it worse cause I know how he acts. If I see them making the food, I'm just gonna go elsewhere next time. I don't play about people messing with my food, it's gross, even them talking like they might have is enough. I've know the older employees are good so I'll come when I see them.
Counter guy was nice enough, paid $13 for a chili Verde classic burrito. I think it was called the classic CAMPOS burrito serve dry. I eat my burritos with a fork and I can tell you I think I only found three pieces of pork in the burrito that I could pick up with a fork that we’re about an eighth of an inch long. Hardly any broken down meat sauce either. Lettuce cheese, and a whole hell of a lot of tortilla. I hope you like tortillas I would not go back again.
My husband ordered us Carne asada burritos on Thursday, and it was so bad that I had to leave a review. Im not sure what's going on but the man who has been cooking there for many years was not there this day. We move out of the area but when we come this way we are always excited to get our favorite Carne Asada Burrito. Its usually the best burrito is Los Angeles if you ask us. We eat at all the taco trucks and Campos was #1, until our last visit. So I'm saying this to make the restaurant aware that something is wrong and you will lose customers if you don't get your chef back. Who ever was in the kitchen even cooked the tortilla chips wrong. I'll be honest I didn't finish mine, the little bit of meat they put was chewy like thick gum with no flavor, the rice was mushy loaded the burrito with beans. Look at the photos I attached and tell me if I'm wrong. I'm sorry but it was shockingly gross. We paid almost $30 for 2 burritos and If I wasn't busy on this day I would have came back for a refund. Its sad because we really enjoy having favorite places to go, and favorite menu items. Everything that we enjoy is being taken away, like the 99 cents store closing down, and now good food is being tampered with, and its hard to find a satisfactory meal. Everything is now in the past. Will Campos bring back the chef that gave them a good name in the neighborhood? Will they close down too? BRING BACK THE CHEF! BRING BACK THE CHEF! GIVE HIM A RAISE! BRING BACK THE CHEF!
