Service was nice but the food came out really really slow. Overall the food was tasty especially the mala hargow and cha siu pork. The Lomo saltado, dandan noodle, and mapo tofu were not bad either. The only thing I definitely wouldn't order again is the zongzhi. It was pretty flavorless and way over steamed for my taste.

Chifa is one of those rare family-owned restaurants that immediately feels like you’ve been invited into someone’s home for dinner—in the best, most intimate way. The bold Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Peruvian flavors work together so beautifully, and the eclectic decor makes the whole experience feel special and full of character. 🔥 We tried the lomo saltado, wok hei vegetables, dan dan noodles, and the taradito (sashimi)—every dish was packed with flavor and so thoughtfully prepared. Their cocktail menu is just as impressive, with drinks that pair perfectly with the food. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for date night, but also has a gorgeous private space in the back for hosting events or bringing a bigger group. 🙌 Service was truly top notch—warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. I’m already planning my next visit with more friends so we can try everything on the menu. A beautiful, soulful dining experience from start to finish. ❤️

Love this spot. The food is beautiful and very tasty. The team is lovely and treats you like family! Beautiful, kid and dog friendly outdoor dining. Inside is fun and beautiful too. They have a large lot, and leverage the back for fun events and hosting. They will be opening up for breakfast/coffee/lunch; hoping to add the 3rd place vibe for folks to come work and spend their days there. They have a bar, music set up, and nice tent. They host baseball game viewing, parties, and anything else you can think off. This is all a bonus…the food is delicious. And the people are warm. We made a reservation, but it seems you can show up and get a table without one on most nights. The menu is interesting and unique. Tasty dishes served family style. Cool blending of genres. We got the Dan Dan Noodle (delicious with some peanut sauce), Fries Chinese Bomb Style (lovely fries with chilis and green, Brûlée Char Su (delicious bbq pork toro - Smokey and sweet taste), Black Pepper Prawns (head-on prawns with delicious rich taste), and steamed rice. The team also noticed our young kid, and brought them some pineapple as a treat. They also brought out a metal water bowl for our pup. We were welcomed to explore the space, and met the team. They shared more and more of their amazing Chifa. They will do a Jamaican menu swap next Sunday…blending their Michelin winning chef, and a long term guest’s Jamaican mother’s family recipes. So cool! Parking on the street was available! Kind of a strange intersection adjacent to the restaurant. Look for the green wall; the restaurant is there next to the right hand turn lane before the intersection as you travel east.

Delicious spot. My favorite dish was the beef heart anticucho but everything was delicious. Definitely the scallop crudo. Sea bream was good. Siu Mai. The fried rice has huge pieces of shrimp and fish roe. Dan Dan noodles were well sauced. The okra. WOW. Everything was delicious. Drinks also on point!

Very creative and trendy place. The items on the menu as well. Super delicious and unique. Lomo saltado here is the best in town! We loved all the food and drink. There are enough Chinese influenced fusion small dishes. See more Peruvian bites too!

Beautiful ambiance and vibes in here! Highly recommend the Har Gow, Wellness Soup, and the Tiradito. We love Peruvian and Chinese food and together they’re even better 💕 The cocktails were great too!

Chifa is no doubt a delicious Peruvian restaurant, located in Eagle Rock. Super pricey, but did not expect anything less given that it’s near the heart of LA. We ordered the Braised Spare Ribs, Dan Dan Mien (noodles) and Wok-fried Vegetables - all which were super tasty. The ribs were so tender and beautifully cooked. We made sure to have room for a dessert spread and ordered four desserts, with the affogato as my hands down favorite!!!! They serve the vanilla ice cream with the most incredible *lavender milk tea*… it is absolutely to die for. I would come back just for the affogato!!

Looking back at some of my favorite meals of 2023 and Chifa is high on the list. I went in skeptical because growing up this place used to be a pet shop! The place is now obviously completely renovated and the food is absolutely incredible. I was not expecting to love it this much, I find myself craving the Lomo Saltado and I’m not even a big red meat fan to begin with. Veggies and noodles had tons of yummy flavor. Definitely worth a try!

This place reminds me a trip i went to Lima. If i remember correctly, local people called chifa as Persian Chinese food, and it plays an important role at Peru. This place has come out as expected and more. 😊 Love the food, especially the short ribs and scallop crudo. Love the Chacha chicha (mixed with Peruvian drink with rum). Love the pavlova. This place is boldly decorated with colors that could take your breath away. It's passionate, fun, delicate.

I ate here for the first time on Friday and cannot stop thinking about how incredibly good the food was! I came with a large group, so we got to try so many dishes. Seriously, every single dish was delicious!!! Some stand outs for me: Dan Dan mian with the chili oil, the spare ribs and the okra. I have never enjoyed okra before, but this was so tasty! Great service and a fun atmosphere. I will absolutely be coming here again and again.

Chifa is colorful, quirky and delicious. Chinese meets Peruvian, not really fusion but BBQ and stir fried with flavors and seasoning that just works well. The highlights from Chifa were the noodles, steak and rice. Dan Dan Mian, Lomo Saltado and Trinity fried rice really pairs well with beer, cocktails or good cold ole' tap. The Brulee Char Sui and Sui Mai were the disappointments... both well prepared but fell short in taste compared with the other dishes. Chifa has a wonderful interior and welcoming exterior with minimal parking on the street.

Place I’ve been wanting to check out and finally was able to. Sprung on. My lady today to give her afternoon break since she putting in work at home- remote work. So I let her know and off we went she a fan of Chinese food and has no clue on Peruvian food. Her favorites was the tri rice, the char siu, siu mai, and the prawns. Same for me plus the wellness soup and the heart.

Great food. Excellent service, the staff were all friendly and accommodating. Most of the dishes were very good. They managed to keep the essence of Chinese cuisine and elevated it, combining it with some Peruvian notes here and there too. This created a very homey but interesting dining experience. Highly recommend the beef heart, shrimp, soy sauce chicken, the garlic rice is also great with any dish. My only complaint is that certain the ribs were a little dry and certain dishes had pretty small portions (but it's LA so we can't really blame them).

Chifa has been on my list for a while and it was a pretty solid experience. The interior was beautiful. For drinks, we got the chicha morado, which was a sparkling purple corn and pineapple drink. It was delicious! We ordered the scallop crudo, lomo saltado, wok hay veggies, and the black sesame cheesecake tart. The lomo saltado was the star of the show here! The filet mignon was flavorful and soft. We got it with the aji sauce and it was a great pairing.

Great service and atmosphere! We loved our server and how they helped us pick dishes that pair well together as well as how knowledgeable they were on the menu. We enjoyed the char siu with the marinated Serrano sauce & the cucumber woodear mushroom salad.

My partner and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now so decided to go here for a date night.👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨✨ All of the staff were really friendly from the hostess to the server. I will say my favorite dish had to be the black pepper prawns. 🦐 🍽️Great atmosphere, awesome staff, but the food was 🆗.

Honestly just OK, but very pricey. Concept, Peruvian-Chinese fusion, cool. Food was just OK in my opinion, nothing was wrong with it, but nothing excited me at all. The lomo saltado the meat was kind of dry and tough. Braised spare ribs was sweet but nothing outstanding. Dan dan noodles were good but nothing special and at $20 also insane. Also had garlic rice and wok-hay vegetables which are almost not even worth mentioning. They used their entire parking lot for seating so you have to try to find street parking which could be several blocks away. They sat us outside, we never got an option of inside or outside. Sitting outside definitely feels like you're sitting in a parking lot. Also this time of year you just get eaten by mosquitos. So overall I was not really impressed. Would rather just go somewhere to get Chinese food that has more flavor and is 1/3 the price.

Whatever you do please ask to be sat inside. The food was good but sitting in a dark parking lot when the restaurant itself is beautiful is not the vibe we wanted. The food is good but expensive and paying $200 to eat in a parking lot at night is not the deal. Again, if you come and eat here please request a table inside. We sat outside and spent the night cold bc their heaters ran out of gas.

The food tastes good but the portion is not what I expected. The dan dan Mian is noticeable for 1 teenager but the server mentioned it is all shareable size. The Siyao chicken taste great. The fried rice is small portion as well. We had to run to cafe 86 by sprouts to fill out our belly. Also the price doesn't fit the portion size FYI.

No parking lot street parking is difficult, Chinese offerings were very limited (4 or 5 entrees) they had a couple of Peruvian dishes Pollo a La Brasa and some sort of BBQ pork ribs, ribs were ok the chicken was pretty good the fries were were good and so was the steamed rice. THIS IS NOT A CHINESE RESTAURANT LIKE WE'RE USED TO. $117 for dinner, could you imagine what could've done in a real Chinese restaurant in Monterey Park!!!! Very small tables, waiter gave us good service and the water WAS filtered.

Please save your money & time and don’t dine here. I’ve lived in LA my whole life, and truly Chifa was the worst dining experience of my life. My friend and I aren’t the type to be confrontational or leave bad reviews like this, but this one was something else. We got seated, and it took about 10 minutes just for them to get our drink order, which is fine. But after he brought the drinks and took our order, the waiter knocked over my wine glass, also spilling the drink all over my pants. Accidents happen, but the problem was how it was handled. He whispered a barely half hearted “sorry,” as if it wasn’t his fault, and then proceeded to clean in silence and then walk off. We had to ask to be moved while they mopped around us, and there was still no formal apology or acknowledgement. During the meal, the only attention we got was a single water refill. The other tables were checked on, and they made us feel completely isolated and neglected. We were absolutely shocked by the lack of accountability and hospitality from not just the waiter but also the entire staff. And the food? We were confused by how anyone can mess up cucumber salad. The pork char sui was absolutely drenched in glaze that we took one bite and stopped eating. When your service is this bad, at least the food should be good enough to forgive it but it wasn’t. Confused by how this place has a good rating. Very undeserving. Don’t come here.
