Dune Downtown Los Angeles Reviews
Their feta alone gets 5-stars itself. Everything else is beyond exceptional as well. Food - got the Grilled Chicken Souvlaki sandwich and Steak Fries. Their portions are fairly large, so I was able to take some home and enjoy it again. As mentioned, their feta is amazing. The souvlaki sandwich was PACKED with a bunch of meat and vegetables, so wasn't able to really eat as a sandwich, but that didn't bother me at all. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. Their steak fries were delicious as well! Service - Super friendly, accommodating, and just a dang delight. So respectful and professional. Ambiance - A very cute spot where you order your food first then take a seat in their small and very intimate dining area. But really cool that your food is being prepared on the other side of the wall. I get why my sister loves this place and the diners inside looks very satisfied as well. Can't wait to find myself near another location so I can have it again.
I visited Dune Downtown, the second location of the beloved Dune empire, on a Monday night around 6 pm, and apparently, everyone else had other plans. The place was empty, save for a steady flow of to-go orders reminding me that dining in is a bold, almost vintage choice. For nearly 50 minutes, I was the sole indoor diner, which was equal parts peaceful and mildly awkward. The space is small, about 12 to 15 seats inside, with a few petite tables outside for those who enjoy the sounds of downtown traffic with their meal. I ordered the chicken schwarma sandwich, which tastes incredible: juicy, flavorful, perfectly spiced, and balanced with herbs and fresh veggies. If you’re in DTLA and crave incredible food with a side of quiet introspection, Dune delivers.
Absolutely perfection. The falafel sandwich is so hearty, fresh and flavorful with such a delicious variety of textures. One of the best places to eat in this part of downtown.
Absolutely delicious. Would recommend anyone come and get yourself anything that sounds good to you. Excellent atmosphere. Nice folks.
Ordered the lamb plate to go on a Thursday evening at 7pm, and waited 10 min for my order. This is a good thing as you can taste the freshness of the food. Everything was so flavour full, from the lamb, hummus, to the olives and rice - even the green salad contained fresh dill. The server was also very friendly and patient while she helped me select my dish. Dune is a gem in the neighbourhood.
The meat here was tender for the beef, chicken, and lamb. You get a lot of food for the price. Everything presented on your plate is filled with flavor. Would highly recommend this spot. Larger groups may have trouble finding seating inside.
Amazing hummus and falafel plate, very generous and with lots of small dishes full of flavours (olive bread, pickled piment, flavoured rice..). The inside design is also very nice and the music fits perfectly.
A true hidden gem of DTLA. Probably one of the best Mediterranean dishes I ever ate. Loved the rosemary lemonade. This will be my go to spot every time I visit LA. I dined solo so no issue, but place is small be mindful of number of people in your party.
Absolutely amazing! We had the Fried Chicken Shawarma – and it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with just the right mix of herbs and creamy sauces. The house-made flatbread was soft and fresh. Generous portion and everything tasted high-quality and super fresh. The staff was friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and the food came out quickly. If you’re anywhere near Downtown LA – go to Dune. 10/10!
What a charming little new restaurant in the neighborhood. Perfect for a quick bite. The Mediterranean/ middle eastern food is exquisite, the service attentive and the vintage atmosphere lovely. Def our new favorite lunch spot in the area!! 🤌
Food is bomb. So fresh and flavorful. We got the mezze plate with falafel and turmeric chicken (?). Falafel is perfect and neverrrrr dry 🫡 They also have both indoor and outdoor seating now! It’s been a minute since we came. Also, random, I’m not sure what kind of olives these were — but they were so good. Kind of sweet!
I’ve primarily been to the Dune in Atwater, but I was close to DTLA so decided to swing by this location for lunch. It’s also small yet charming, and I was greeted by the sweetest staff member that helped me choose a new menu item (I usually go for the falafel, but ventured to try the brisket wrap). There’s limited seating, but there was more than enough when I came by. This is a great and high quality Mediterranean spot that’s a killer lunch option if you find yourself hungry in DTLA.
I'm not a gourmand, but their beet sandwich was one of the best meals I've ever had!

It’s hard to find good food in dtla and a lot of places are overrated, had passed by on my way to work and the aroma got my attention. Once I finally tried their cuisine, my mouth was exploding with so many exquisite flavors. 10/10 highly recommend.
This was the best hummus I've ever had and top 3 fried chicken I've ever had. And, conveniently, it comes together on a combo plate. Absolutely delicious, need to go back. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Lovely place.
We had the hummus plate with tabbouleh along with a falafel. Both were both filing and excellent. A great meal in downtown LA.
Cool crowd that shows up there. Great staff. Super cozy, perfect date spot. Loved the fallfel and chicken. Hummus was delish. No alcohol. Clean bathroom. Outside seating. Easy parking on the street.

Pretty good falafel. Location is strange. Service was excellent. Would recommend.
phenomenal, although there is no real seating, the food was fantastic. The chicken schwarma and fries were phenomenal. Falafel was above average for sure, and had great plating with average pricing. definately worth a try, i wouldn't drive hours to get here, but if you're in the area probably some of the best fast mediterranean food around.
Great hummus and falafel. Tasty and fresh, be sure to ask for hot sauce. No seating inside, there are a few tables out front, some with umbrellas. Primarily setup for pick up/take out. Definitely worth visiting.
Food smell delicious but unfortunately for me flavor was not what i was expecting need it more flavor.. i purchase the grilled chicken souvlaki sandwich chicken taste was great and the fried chicken shawarma sandwich chicken had a lemonie taste to it very good... they come wrap in 1 pita so its like a wrap sandwich.. yes i was half way through my sandwiches haha each sandwich was $20 so just for both was like $42 w taxes
This place is so yummy! I dined in and noticed they get a lot of Togo orders so I think it’s a big takeout spot. The sandwich I ordered was way to big to eat as a sandwich so I used my fork n knife but it was flavorful and delicious! My Arnold Palmer was perfect too.

Really enjoyed their fired chicken sandwich!
Whoever the waitress/hostess was around 11 a.m. on January 4 should be in a role that doesn’t require customer interaction. This was one of the rudest encounters I’ve ever experienced. She clearly dislikes her job and took it out on the customers. In an economy where restaurants are closing every day, I hope the owners of this establishment take that into consideration.
