This place is under rated. Tacos mejor que Gavilan y van a par con King taco. What I liked about this place is food was great good service and nice clean salad bar with pinto n lot a veggies. Open drinks stand. Graffiti in bathroom not alot you can do about dumb people though.(sigh) For its location this place is legit though. Buen servicio y buen cocinero cuando fui ahora temprano. The first time I went it I ordered a burrito. I went to a lot of Mexican restaurants, just to find out which one has the best meals and whether or not the spicy red sauce is spicy, because I love spicy food and they nailed it. These guys know how to make a killer burrito. The rest of the foods they have shown on their menu looks good too. I can't wait to try them all. They all look delicious.

I spend under $20.00 bucks for 2 meals for me and my son. I love this place, and the consistency of the carna asada stays the same. The nachos bomb the quesidilla bomb. I have been eating from here for 23 years. My spot!!!

I just tried them for the first time, and I have to say, their food was really good. I will definitely eat here again. Four tacos left me full and I still want 4 more. Whoever said the food was just okay, is either lying or doesn't have taste buds.

The food is good. But I recommend paying with cash. Reason is my credit card number was stolen and the only place I swiped it was at el Unico. They waited a week then maxed out my card limit. I guess they thought I would use it somewhere else within the week . But no I only used it there smart tactics, but I'm smarter.

I hope after this message and experience I get a free web burrito with language and carne asada mix with a large horchata LOL. Not it's okay but anyways I would love it anyways lol I really enjoy tacos it when he go here on Crenshaw boulevard because we don't have many taco stands around this area but even if we did because there is one on Florence and Crenshaw but I rather go to tacos only go because they are the best literally mouth dropping the best I love them I literally drive good 15 minutes just to go to this main tacos otani gone and there always fast as well but not the drive-thru drive-thru always seems far long but you walk in you get smiles in kindness and they have benches you can sit down and wait for your food or you can eat inside and they have all the condiments that you need and wants. If you go there tell him margarita with a three kids sent you there,🥳

I've been coming to the Unico on Crenshaw for a good while. To me, it was always cheap Mexican fast food. Maybe a bit greasy but it hit the spot. Lately, they've done something to their standards because the food is much fresher. It tasted like the meat was cooked to order and it wasn't as chewy, fatty, or greasy as it used to be. The sauces slap, as usual. Best fast/cheap/local Mexican spot 10/10 💯

Taco Unico is the best! I used to frequent this place back in the day. They have upgraded the place, and I was hoping it didn't compromise the great food.....It did not! I'm so glad. I got 2 chicken tacos and YES!! They still hit! Thanks Taco Unico for being there on this late nights! I'll be back!!

Every time I'm in the area for some Mexican food, this is usually the go to stop for me. The cashier Jonathan always has a smile when taking my order and does his best to to clarify any questions for my order. Provides excellent service and I usually go order my food thru drive-thru. I got the carne asada burrito with no sauce and is my go to whenever I stop by in the area. The experience itself was pleasant I didn't have to wait too long for my food and got all the condiments on the side that I wanted. Jonathan did a great job by greeting me with a warm welcome, friendly service and I seen how he is usually the first person I see whenever I come to the Crenshaw location.

Would have added pictures but we ate everything so fast and forgot. We got carne asada original tacos and pastor original tacos. This was definitely some of the most flavorful and tender meat I have tasted. It's no wonder the drive thru is always crowded...

This used to be delicious and i would give it a 5 star, but the old cook that knew what was up doesn't seem to be there anymore and the new employees just don't seem to get it. All meat and bean burrito with yellow cheese...all day! Beware of the sometimes annoyed drive through cashier.

I live on the street of this restaurant, and I've become quite a regular they were respectful my food was in good timing. Sometimes the taco's were weird but it just depends on the chef that day.

Solid "go-to" spot for Mexican fast food. The food tastes great, the salsas are even better. Inside they have a salsa bar where you can grab salsas, beans, rabanos, limon etc. They have an assortment of Mexican juices as well as sodas. The meat is usually tender and juicy. If you're ordering and you don't like hot sauce make sure you let them know. I've ordered a number of times from here and sometimes they remind me of the hot sauce sometimes they don't. The red sauce is HOT! for most people while the green sauce is still spicy but you can taste your food. I highly recommend the asada fries and asada nachos, flame! But you have to eat them right away or at the spot since they get soggy. The drive thru does take a lot longer than most other taco places so 1 less star for that and because every few orders they get my order wrong (but I still enjoy the food). Happy eats!

They have good food here. I love the caramel churros. If you don't do spicy i would suggest not getting sauce on anything. And I have never been here and there wasn't a long line in the drive thru but don't let that be the reason for not stopping because they get thru it in a reasonable amount of time. And the staff are super friendly and awesome. I stop here everytime i visit my friend down the street even if its just to grab a churro!

There is a lot to like about this Mexican restaurant that shines in the dark lanes of Crenshaw Blvd (by Hyde Park). Good prices. Good food. Great service.

Food is delicious, the salsas are pretty good, the service is fast. The atmosphere is very bleh. Spending too much time here isn't particularly enjoyable. One of the guys who works the front of this location is really obnoxious, nosey, and is soliciting his own burger business to customers. Aren't employees supposed to file a non-compete?

They're tacos are delicious, but they're customer service is horrible. Especially the heavy set Hispanic lady, the one who is almost always at the take out window. She has a nasty attitude and is very rude. This is the only location out of all el unico's, who's food satisfies my taste...but I'd rather cook my own tacos then to cash out there and not get treated with respect.

I go here as often as I can for the cafe de olla which I love. It has all the right ingredient for my kind of coffee taste. I don't have to add anything. My other love is the tacos. The last time I was there the cashier had excellent customer service skills.

Well the food is great, the service is OK most days there has been sometimes when I have witnessed very bad services. To a few people whom looked like they could use a cleaning up a bit . They were treated with discuss as if they needed to go clean up and they were refused to use the restrooms, even tho they bought food and drink.

This place used to be bomb! We went every week like clockwork, sent a lot of people there, when my daughter came too town she would go or we would take her tacos when we went to visit. But now? We can go 3 times and the food is good only once. Not sure what happened but it's not the same 😫

Food was really good. Service was very nice and fast. The problem is the area. Bums kept coming in asking for money and one black man even insulted my brother for telling him to please let us eat (he had already asked and we had given him money). I'd day go through the drive thru and get your food. It was yummy.

Tacos were good, young lady at the window was very friendly and gave great service but the carne asada fries that I ordered was absolutely disappointing. I'm accustomed to getting my fries with all the toppings but this came with none of that, literally just fries, cheese and asada that wasn't very flavor at all. The lack of toppings wouldn't have been a big deal if the Asada was well seasoned, which would've given flavor to the whole dish. Cool for quick tacos on a late night rush but ultimately disappointed.

Asada taste cool. I got a burritos. Got pastor tacos, not my favorite but they looked great. My husband got Lengua hopes he enjoys , but they forgot our guacamole and some of our tacos. Salsa was the best part of everything. But then our stomachs didn't agree and here we are fighting for the toilet =[

Service is always friendly. Lil skimpy on the meat, but they offer well priced all meat options. I suggest asada as the pastor did not taste super fresh mid-week. The inside offers comfortable seating and a full view of their great salsa and fresh fixings selections. Fresh Jamica & good coffee are my favorite drinks and the drive thru helps too!

I’m not a local to Tacos Unico but my cousin that I was driving around is, and she hasn’t had it as well. If you are like us, and are curious, I suggest getting something else. I ordered a burrito and for the price you pay, the portion is disappointing and there is nothing special to justify its pricing. I will say, the Mexican fried rice they use was nice but if you have other options, maybe try that instead.

Use to love this place. Now I can't eat there late because they decide to close earlier than what is poster online. No explanation, more than once. And also I've even tried to call ahead so I don't waste my time going up there and they don't answer. The cashiers are all rude. All two of them. And no one is cooperative. Tacos and asada fries are good though.

You all must have changed cooks or personal because my food is cold today 2 years ago it was great but I think it's ashamed that you spend $30 on a meal and usually get it cold and have to put it in the oven. I feel if you WORK AT A RESTAURANT, you should and supposed to have respect not only for yourself but the company you work for OR maybe I should just start cooking myself! I'm very disappointed!

Drive-thru seems to be a priority over walk-in customers; 3 workers work drive-thru with little to no eye contact to acknowledge customers at counter. No, "I'll be with you in a moment" or anything. And Drive, the customers walk in constantly with problems with orders. There is plenty of staff, too many to have customers with long waits. The cooks make more eye contact with customers than workers on the registers assisting customers, who often give cold 🥶 to rude customer service. If I didn't live in the neighborhood, I'd avoid this particular restaurant as often as possible. Oh, I discourage watching food handlers and expeditors, not wearing gloves (I've seen some things).

I placed a phone order and it wasn't even made upon arrival. Second I oreded 2 drinks and they forgot, and lastly they served dry old fries 🍟 food didn't look fresh. Wouldn't recommend price was over 30 for just 2 items and 2 drinks

The food is flavorful with generous portions, but this last time I went, my burrito was freezing cold and also had a giant hair in it. The hair was so long that I had to wrap it around my fingers and pull really hard just to get it out of the depths of the burrito. Had to throw the whole thing away. That really sucks since I was looking forward to eating here.

We've been coming here for 2+ years and something changed recently, maybe they are cutting costs but the salsa is like water now, the chips aren't as good and the burrito had only a few small pieces of chicken. Such a bummer - this was one of our weekly places, don't think we'll be coming back now.

The service is ok, the restaurant is small, the food is ok. One problem is all the homeless people who are permitted to bother with panhandling. Also, the homeless, and anyone off the street can come in with their own cup or container and help themselves to the fountain drinks. They can also get the condiments, and the employees let them.

Ordered food online I ordered the four taco combo with a drink. I ordered soyrizo and that's all I wanted I didn't choose another meat because wanted all four soyrizo their wasn't option to choose all soyrizo. I went to pick up my order and received one soyrizo and three asada. I asked why they chose asada for the other three, they started telling me I was wrong and lecturing me that it was my fault. I was shocked that they would rather argue than to just simply apologize and fix the order. They proceeded to fix the order, but when I got the "fixed order" they never fixed it and gave me back the three asada tacos again. Ridiculously rude service. I will not be going back to this place.

Normally good, tonight the cashier did not want to engage us. She didn't get our order correct, and our burritos we're cold and wrapped in what appeared to be reused aluminum foil. But the cashier seemed as if we were bothering her, as if she was annoyed.

Ordered through uber eats, disgusting burrito. Asked for asada with chicken topping, didnt receive what I asked for. Gave me the driest chicken burrito I've ever had. The fries I ordered were overcooked, but limp. That takes special skill to do that. The green sauce on the burrito was sour and nasty. I will never eat here again, nor would I ever reccomend eating here. You will find better food off of food truck. Dont waste your money.

Just found this in my food thanks for the refund.

First I called at 9:16pm, the girl said that the lobby closes in 10 minutes (really @9:30) and I made it there in 7 minutes and the lobby door was locked. So I called them as I'm outside at the door waiting. She says let me check with my manager to open the door. On the phone she also stated that, I could use the drive through window to pay with my card. Now things changed. They wouldn't open the lobby door and decided not to let me go to the drive through window. Some guy comes to the back door and says, for me to hand him my DEBIT CARD and he'll pay for my food for me. Now I'm supposed to hand my card with 3 digit code on back to someone who lied, has an attitude and I don't know. Wow is that how business is conducted. Oh no and a manager was there too. Once again I've done fast food/ customer service and I would never ask for someone's card like that at no back door. So that means, if something did happen, It wouldn't be on camera.

When ordering through the drive thru service is very, very slow. When speaking your order, they seem not to hear you. And when you finally make it to the register, you get ignored for several minutes before someone takes your payment and forget about a thank you for your patience. It is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

Access to the dining room is closed when the opening hours should be open. The dining room was closed at 9:30 pm on Friday. Line slow work of employees on the drive tru.

On 11/14/2025 at approximately 1:40 PM, I went through the drive-through to place an order, and my ticket number was 41. The employee taking orders, identified as Martha A., kept me waiting at the speaker for an unusually long time even though the drive-through was not busy. During this time, I observed behavior that appeared unprofessional, including eye-rolling and acting as though she could not hear me while confirming my order. I also noticed her touching her nose without wearing gloves. Additionally, I observed what appeared to be intentional mishandling of my food, as the burrito I ordered was prepared cold. While waiting, I witnessed Martha interacting with another employee in a manner that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I saw my photo displayed on her personal cellphone, and it appeared she had taken or recorded it while speaking about me to a Hispanic male coworker who then looked at me in a strange manner. Martha also seemed to be making fun of other customers waiting in the drive-through. These actions made me feel disrespected, singled out, and bullied as a customer. I am submitting this report to document the incident and express my concern regarding the unprofessional conduct I experienced.

I have to say that today I had the worse experience at taco and not just today but every time I visit they get my order wrong and the cashier on the drive thru it’s always having a nasty attitude idk if the persons name it’s Ashley it’s Shows on my recipe. Every time I visit this location the Carne Asada is Always COLD! Sometimes I even ask for my meat to be well done in hopes that they will warm up the meat. But it’s still always Cold! The food used to be good but it’s gone downhill in the last few years. I ordered a burrito tonight and added cheese and once again my meat is so cold that the cheese isn’t melted at all. Plus the meat is super tough and chewy. Horrible food!

Today I order from Uber eats because I can't drive . The driver hand me my order when I came back inside I checked inside the bag and I didn't receive my order complete. I called the restaurant they told me that I have to go in the restaurant to go get my refund. I'm so upset this people are trying to still my money. I told them that the reason I order from Uber eats is because I can't drive. That's not my fault that they didn't sent my order complete. I Spoke I believe is the manager and the manager told me that is not their fault neither what the hell is their problem. So they are telling me that I have to go in person to go get my refund and now how the heck am I going to go. That is not right. They can at least refund back my money in my card. Never again ordering from this place again. I use to love this place never again.

I swear they constantly mess up every time we order! I use to think it was a door dash thing but they mess up in person as well! They ALWAYS forget food items! They're quick to rush someone to order, act like they're listening and mess it up! The food isn't that great, it's just convenient cause they're on door dash and have a drive through but never will i go to them again! They're too expensive to constantly deal with this nonsense!
