Enigma Coffee Los Angeles Reviews
Great place! I love conventional baked goods and (I think I understood correctly) that their baked goods are all vegan, but I respect that choice, and the vegan muffin I got was good. Cappuccino was made perfectly, as far as I could tell, and the people who work there were very nice.
Great coffee, nice outside spot and so of the most unique people watching in LA
This is my neighborhood spot. The coffee is very delicious and the strength I like. If I grab a cup before work I’ll crush the day, and if I have one before the gym I’m the strongest guy in the place. Stop in and say hi to the husband & wife owners who are the nicest people in the world. Enjoy!
Delicious iced coffee (and they have oat milk 👍 ), ice cold air conditioning and Talking Heads and the Kinks on the playlist. Loved the service, too -- funny and personable. 2 or 3 tiny tables inside so it's cozy and quiet. PERFECT. 🙌
Picked up coffees from here the day of my sisters wedding, and they were so patient and humored me by writing “mother of the bride” “groom” etc. on each drink. Small shop but staff was incred.
My go-to place for coffee. Love the location and always happy with what I get!
My new favorite spot! Food is great, drinks are great. Go here instead of CorperateCoffee.
Great coffee. Quick Friendly service. Points program. Highly recommend!
I love this little place, it sets me up for the day. The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. Great coffee, well presented.. and you are never waiting too long. The only thing is the cashless thing, not a believer of that system... but it doesn't take away any stars!! The attentive staff and good coffee pull it through to the 5star!! If you get the chance to try the blueberry muffin topped with crumble... it's delicious!
I haven’t tried the food yet but the pastries look delicious. Love their iced oat milk latte. Super creamy and strong!
Small place but they make up for it with outdoor seating. Their drip coffee was superb.
Highly recommend trying the salted vanilla latte. I also bought a bottle to take home and now desperately need to go back for another. Pastries aren’t incredible, but the coffee is. Good enough for me.
Love this spot! The coffee is delicious, my favorite is The Sam. I've been coming here for months to write during the day. The atmosphere is great, it's never too crowded, but the customers are friendly and I've had some nice chats with strangers. Good light too. And the owners and employees are so so nice. Just a wonderful little gem in the middle of West Hollywood.
I was there only twice and she remembered my order. How’s that? Busy place and it was your standard request. Because it’s THAT GOOD! From the crafted coffee to the cheerful baristas that greet you, this is a lovely way to start your day! I’m visiting and chose this place because of the reviews. Came everyday. Loved it. And them! Made my stay just that much more enjoyable. Thank you!
I came here yesterday and today and I love their coffee. I got a large latte with soymilk it was $6.75 and totally worth it. The coffee was strong, did it’s job and was really good. The baristas were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I loved the vibe of this place and the overall energy. I would highly recommend. They also have cold brew and coffee syrup to take home. I’m sure it is really good. 🤍
I’ve been coming here for years and have always had the best chai lattes, iced matcha and oat lattes! It’s definitely a staple piece in the community not only for its drinks and food but because their staff makes this place so special!
The girl who works there is very kind. Convenient, Awesome service .
I tried the cold brew vanilla salted with a splash of oat milk—and wow, it's absolutely delicious. The boldness of the cold brew is perfectly balanced by the smooth vanilla and just the right touch of salt. The oat milk adds a creamy finish without overpowering the flavor. It's refreshing, slightly sweet, and has that perfect café-style vibe. Highly recommend if you're looking for a drink that's both bold and smooth!
Enigma is my new favorite local coffee shop and it’s a hidden gem. If you’re driving too fast on Sunset, you’ll zip right passed it. If you stop in, be sure to order the Sam latte — it’s delicious and reasonably priced. Also, their baked goods are amazing. The blueberry and lemon poppyseed muffins are my two favorites, but you can’t go wrong with anything else.
Great little specialty coffee shop that is very popular - a constant stream of people come through! The barista is super friendly and the service is attentive and quick. We had an espresso and a pour over and both were definitely worthy of being called specialty coffee.
I love this coffee shop! The coffee is good and they mix great drinks. I always have a good experience here and I enjoy coffee here: perfect foam, delicious coffee flavor, and nice presentation! Perfect for quickly grabbing a coffee or taking time to enjoy it in the sun and the humming of life around. Adding to the review: they change baristas a lot!! Not all are as nice. Today I got an attitude from both of them. If this keeps up I’ll rate service less. If you don’t enjoy making coffee on such a nice sunny day, go home! And if nice baristas don’t stay.. I’ll find another place to enjoy coffee. I want to drink coffee made by happy people!
One of the best coffee places in Los Angeles. The staff here were so friendly, make a fantastic Americano, and have such a cool design and logo. They also have a nice little seating area right outside the shop. Looking forward to getting more tasty cups of coffee here.
Don't you just love when you stumble upon a great coffee shop without expecting to?! That's exactly what happened to me this morning while I was walking my dog! I knew I wanted to get coffee and it seemed like Starbucks was the closest thing to me; until I randomly walked up on enigma coffee. The exterior immediately caught my eye; I thought it was so cute! When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly employee. She let me know that they make and roast all their coffee in house and then she pointed me in the direction of an Ethiopian blend of single origin. I decided to give that a try. My coffee was ready in about five minutes and it was delicious! I drink my coffee black, and I could taste the different flavors and profile notes in the coffee. I will definitely be making this shop a part of my morning routine.
Great find when staying in WeHo. Delicious flat white, they even opened up a few mins before official opening time because I showed up 5 mins early. Thanks! Nice selection of pastries too.
My favorite chai latte. They’ve never disappointed. Service is also consistently good.
This is some gourmet coffee!!!! I imagine it’s the stuff Quentin Tarantino was drinking in that scene from Pulp Fiction. Don’t buy the coffee that Bonnie buys!!! BUY ENIGMA COFFEE!!!! I like the Ethiopian beans called “The Secret Temple”. Can’t wait to try the other blends!

I love this coffee spot! High quality coffee, consistent & delicious. Ideal location too!
Love your coffee I get a few different kinds it is fantastic! Service is great! And I appreciate the discounts when you give them!
A wonderful little shop with great food and drinks. I get the Joe with almond milk. Always great.
This is my go-to coffee shop for mon and wed commute to west side. Fast, great black coffee and at a great location. Coffee price is reasonable. Haven’t tried pastry.
Sales staff & Baristas are all greater than 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Coffee made to your own preference and the taste exquisitely stands out as my ONLY prefered coffee in town! Luv luv luv Enigma Coffee roasters! A must try….,

Small place but they make up for it with outdoor seating. Their drip coffee was superb.
I like it. It is only an outdoor shop for eating-in but that works. No ambience except what the city provides lol. Their coffee bean is one of the "go out of your way for" coffee house flavors.
I was so surprised when they brought out a yogurt parfait with no-sugar added yogurt and fruit! (I ordered without granola.) At last! A coffee shop where I can order food without looking over my shoulder for the hidden sugars.
Staff are very friendly and pastry are good as well!
Funky coffee spot in West Hollywood Finding good coffee in LA has proved difficult. Especially when you are an espresso drinker and you don’t have milk to hide poor quality coffee. Enigma is a small funky spot where you can have a good espresso. I ordered a double and flavour was good rich, strong but smooth. They also have a small selection of food and pastries. The owner/barista was friendly and pleasant. Worth the visit!
Enigma Coffee is smaller than what it looks from outside, nevertheless it does offer some quality coffee. I had a flat white and it was pretty good. Service was friendly and attentive, the barista would take the effort to deliver coffee to customers waiting outside. There are a few tables outside on the sidewalk. Their signature seems to be The Sam, a salty vanilla iced oak latte, that's a lot of stuff in one coffee haha.
I tried their salted vanilla cold brew and it was pretty good. The saltiness was very subtle thanx to their vanilla syrup. The baristas were friendly and the space is pretty laid back. They have a few chairs and tables set up outside the shop for costumers to enjoy. Overall, good experience!
Very cute little coffee shop. The service was great and friendly! We had the Sam which was recommended by the Barista. Very good coffee!

Coffee is good! Just up there in prices but I love their rewards program. They flag discounts pretty frequently making me a pretty frequent visitor. Also, their Lover Addict and salted vanilla flat white are bomb!

Enigma has a no frills interior, mediocre at best coffee program, and very nice and lovely staff who are always a pleasure. Ownership clearly doesn’t have a real budget to improve the space, but it’s alone in the area for coffee except Starbucks.
Great coffee! I just wish it had better seating. It's very uncomfortable. Also, the staff seems grumpy sometimes.
$7.50 for the lavender matcha with oat milk. Tasted fine but not super worth the price. The workers were super nice tho!!

I went in for the first time today. Staff is kind and small. Very polite but it's cashless which I guess is becoming the norm. All that fine the issue lays with my Chai and croissant cost 17 dollars. The Chai is good but delivered luke warm at best and the croissant is mediocre and honestly Starbucks is better than this place and Starbucks ain't that great. I thought I'd try and support a small business cause I like to do that but dear lord not worth 17 bucks. I dunno if their rent is high or they are just trying to make back money lost during the pandemic or its the area which I doubt it is cause I've lived down the street from them for 8 years. Just wow. I think the staff is great just not the product especially at the price it comes at.
Kind of crazy that as a paying customer I can’t get a small charge as a college student to take an important test, seeing as all the other locations offer this amenity. I walked in seeing two places that I could charge my computer but was told (albeit kindly) that the establishment did not have electrical outlets for me to charge my computer. On another note, there is no place, literally no place to sit inside. Can’t see this place making much bank on a rainy or overcast day. Specially, when you are forced to sit on the sidewalk of a busy street with cars driving by at 45mph. Would love to see these small changes take place. Conversely, if you’re a college student. This place is definitely a skip if you’re looking for a good place to study while drinking some coffee, or go to their other locations.
I feel like calling this coffee is being generous. It just kind of tasted like milk with flavoring in it. The syrup was poolled at the bottom of my drink and it was made fresh. No amount of mixing or shaking seem to properly integrate the syrup into the drink, so I had to be careful not to stick my straw too far down. They have no sugar free syrups, so there's no option for any kind of lower sugar or no sugar flavored latte. I might as well have grabbed a Starbucks drink from the gas station, it would have tasted better. Those have more coffee flavor than the iced lattes from this place. My only guess is that the name enigma coffee is because it's an enigma whether there is actually coffee in the drink. Edit: The response from the owner below is hilarious. "Check out our culty youtube channel so you can be happier." If you checked my profile on here, you'd see that the overwhelming majority of reviews I leave are positive. I always try to be more positive than I am negative. This was one of the worst things we had during our week long stay in LA. The people there were nice, it was clean, but the coffee tasted like sweetened milk. Had this been a boba tea place, maybe I'd let it slide, but this is a "Coffee Shop," serve coffee.
1. Incorrect order, which I had to pay extra for. 2. Why do you have to wait outside for your coffee? What if it’s raining? 3. The locals/regulars got their orders before me, I was left waiting. With so many coffee shops nearby I would recommend trying others. Thanks.
This is a place I really like, however The one barista, not sure his name, glasses, blue hat, he was taking out the trash and didn’t wash his hands before preparing my tea, which he used his bare hands to dunk the tea bag’s into the drink. His fingers were in the tea. Absolutely disgusting. I complained to a woman who worked there and she had him remake it after washing his hands, but at that point I just left. So gross. This experience ruined one of my favorite places for me.
Guy with glasses is very unhygienic and doesn’t wash his hands.
