Govinda's Buffet Los Angeles Reviews
I came in to check this place out the other day and it was fire. I usually don't mess with places that aren't 100% vegan but my guidance said to give it a try. It was healthy and delicious. Most of the dishes are vegan. It is cafeteria/buffet style serving and the Indian inspired menu changes. The food is legit fire. The wonderful staff is very nice and you can tell that they love what they do. I think energy is very important when it comes to........... everything. They are open 7 days a week. I will probably go there for Thanksgiving because they will have something special there. The vibe in general is harmonious.
If you like fresh and healthy, but tasty vegetarian/vegan food, this is for you. The place is very clean, friendly staff, peaceful, plenty of seating and menu options. They charge by lb so you can choose the items you want and how much of it. I had just arrived from an East Coast trip and was starving. Very much recommend it.
Govinda's Natural Foods Cafe at 3764 Watseka Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90034 In my continuous Journey always looking for a healthy option for lunch 😇 I found another beautiful spot in Los Angeles California. Not only is the neighborhood in the area peaceful and to get a good healthy meal was a very positive experience. I really did like the samosas and the hummus was well right. The two soups I ate with my meal, 😋 I went a little overboard warning extra food but it was truly delicious.
One of my absolute favorite lunch spots in Los Angeles! Govinda Cafe stands out not only for its healthy, fresh, and high-quality food but also for the warmth and kindness of everyone who works there. The meals are made daily without onions or garlic, perfectly suited for the Krishna diet, and you can feel the care that goes into every dish. Every day, there’s a different menu, served with a smile, and it’s almost impossible to find a better deal in LA. Nestled in a neighborhood known for some of the best Indian cuisine in the city, Govinda Cafe offers a softer, more traditional approach that’s both satisfying and unique. The dal over rice is consistently delicious, and the samosas are always fresh and flavorful. If you’re looking for a place that serves nourishing food with a sense of community, Govinda Cafe is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Lovely spot. Food is very fresh and delicious. They will let you know what is in everything. Food is sold by weight. I spent $14 plus tip for a full plate of food, salad, samosa and a spindrift drink. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely recommend especially if you are veg. There is free parking as well. There is also a store on the second floor, but I didn't go up. There are stairs but I don't know if they have an elevator. Restaurant is wheelchair accessible though.
I have been coming to Govinda’s since it used to be across the street on Venice Blvd in the 80’s full disclosure I’m of the faith - Hare Krishna. This food is so fresh and delicious, the salad dressings, the samosa’s, the dokla all a must have. I do miss the sandwich bar.
good food, good atmosphere, good service. All food have no onion and garlic, very friendly to oriental vegetarians. highly recommend, and definitely will visit again!
Great restaurant in a serene environment. Located right next to the Hare Krishna temple, this 100% vegetarian restaurant serves an all-you can eat buffet of healthy food such as salad, pasta/spaghetti, samosas, soup, rice and dal, and more. Post COVID they changed it from self-serve to being served, but it's still the same nutritious and delicious food as always. Highly recommended, Hare Krishna!
It is a divine plate of food. Healthiest, freshest, vegan food you can get in the area. I feel energized and fueled after eating this as one should after having a meal! The place is also clean and sanitized as per the pandemic policy. Thank you 🙏
Best. Vegan. Spot. I can't recommend this place more, I've been going for 3 years, food is fresh and healthy, the staff is friendly, and the prices are incredible. If you like healthy food on a budget Please try this place out!
The food is make with love and as an offer to the lord of the universe. Can not find a better place to nourish the body and the soul with food. I have to say that the price is fantastic also!
A total safe haven for plant-based people. Feels like a commune. No frills vegan Indian restaurant with all-you-can-eat buffet for $8. Tons of veggies, leafy greens and gluten free foods. We dined in due to heavy rain. Can't wait to sit on their front patio and enjoy their baked goods with a beverage.
The food is still delicious, but long gone are the buffet and the sandwich bar. It's by the pound and to go only, or you could eat outside.
I fall in love with with place. Very delicious food. Clean place. And very friendly stuff. Great vegetarian and vegan options. And very cheap.
Iskon temple in L.A. it’s beautiful our Indian God Radha Krishna .. Govindas natural food cafe it’s in our vegetarian & fresh, delicious, food no spicy bc testy..
Finger licking yummilicious food is served here. A must visit if you want your tastes buds to experience the delicious food.

It’s a vegan cafeteria style mostly fresh salads restaurant; you pick the items and pay by the pound. I moved far away so haven’t been recently, but I used to love going there. The staff was so pleasant!

Very tasty veggie burgers for the limited time they have them! Otherwise looks like a great buffet and some other solid sandwiches. Pleasant but nothing of note in the simple interior.

Hare Krishna. Let me discuss the positives….incredible interior change. The people that made the new wooden tables are to be commended…beautiful work. My first experience with a Krishna Feast was on Kauai in 1971 as a teenager. We had abundant portions and we found someplace to sit whether it was a rock or on the ground….it wasn’t fancy. I like the pricing and weighing policy but it cuts out going back for seconds. Govinda’s has to make money in this horrible business climate. So 2 types of rice, beets, salad, potato salad and that great dessert. Where the heck is the bread and pasta , sunflower seeds, corn? Those great salad dressings. Why cut all that? I was left wanting more. Before I think I paid $ 7.50/senior discount and all you could eat (I only went back in the day for just a few things…small portions, that wouldn’t break the bank). So it cost $ 8.13 today for about 70% of the portion I used to get. And where are all the lunchtime people of all types that used to come in at lunchtime? There was a somberness and sadness in the air. Even the music and singing coming from the service in the temple had an air of sadness. Krishna music/singing always had an up quality. The people serving were very polite and attentive. I’ll give it about a month and try it again. I’m hoping to give it 5 stars next time. Thank you.

Not authentic Indian buffet. For being connected with the Hare Krishna I'm surprised that they serve the food. Better off eating at the service.
