Kavat Coffee Los Angeles Reviews
Welcomed in. Was complimented. Was helped / guided in choosing a drink (I was not ready when I got to the counter), and immediately felt comfortable. They were knowledgeable on celiacs and helped me avoid the things I couldn't have. My partner who does not have celiacs was able to enjoy an etheopian pour over, the pecan pie bar and some baklava. I ended up getting a terracotta latte with banana cold foam and I fear I will never enjoy another cold foam more in my life lol.
Ara, the coffee maestro, and Grace the barista were wonderful to be with. They made the coffee with love and our experience amazing. We bought merch (obviously we are SOAD heads) and had a wonderful conversation. Thank you Serj, Ara, and the team for being amazing. Salamati.
I was introduced to this coffee shop by my sister when she got us a bag we used to make coffee at home for lunch with family. Very high quality. I ended up buying some for myself and a friend. Very calm and friendly guy working the counter. Would definitely bring other here. Only one downside; the parking in this area is rough. But that's alright, most of the time I would make coffee at home, so I would just buy here, have them grind it, and the bag has a good seal to keep things fresh. Side note- this place was founded by one of the musicians for System of a Down and they seem to have a mini-museum/merch store in the back. They also sell coffee pots (jazveh style), and I like that they're large, much better for gatherings.
Everything was absolutely amazing, the staff was so friendly and getting to see any the SOAD merch and artwork was super cool. My coffee was super smooth, not super acidic and the pastries were delicious and not dry at all!!! The banana bread was the winner though!! Sooooooo good!
This was a wonderful coffee shop! As a fan of Serj Tankian I was not going to miss the opportunity of supporting his coffee shop. Putting that aside, as a person who loves coffee, the coffee was delicious! The workers were so friendly, they all seemed to enjoy working there. The atmosphere was relaxing, calm and warm. It’s a place where I could spend time at and not feel rushed. Beautiful artwork filled the walls. There was an outdoor area in the back, I could have spent all day back there. Very inviting. The manager and owner we both very kind and it will be a day I’ll remember for a very long time.
Wonderful service from the time we walked through the doors, amazing coffee (had the banana terracotta latte and the tumeric latte), and such a chill atmosphere! I’ll be back every time I’m in the area for sure.
Kavat Cafe lives up to the hype. They care about their craft with high quality coffee and baked goods. Their pour over is incredible and a treat to enjoy. It's unique atmosphere is something to enjoy too. With numerous works of art by Serj the experience is excellent. Will definitely recommend to others. You won't be disappointed in a visit to Kavat.
Firstly, this is A MUST if you are a fan of System Of A Down or Serj Tankian (yes, there is signed merchandise). The Armenian coffee is very good. I had a matcha latte and it had delicious flavor (not too grainy as well). There is a backdoor patio area to sit and enjoy your drink or treats. Within the establishment, each piece of art has an accompanying melody displayed from Eye for Sound. Will definitely be stopping by for another coffee.
It was clean, and well kept. It was cool to see all the band photos and merchandise. The pastries were delicious and so were the drinks. The workers were very kind and welcoming, as well.
Fav hobby is finding good coffee.Quality coffee and espresso here! I really enjoyed the Armenian coffee it had a smooth and rich flavor. I also read my cup after which was fun . The rose latte is also lightly sweet and refreshing. Patio is comfy to work, chat , or read
Went on a Sunday around 11 a.m. There was a line but the wait wasn't long at all. I ordered an almond matcha latte and my boyfriend ordered a vanilla iced latte. He's very picky when it comes to coffee so I was expecting him to not be a huge fan but he actually really liked it. The baristas were friendly and attentive, space had a cool vibe and a chill outdoor seating area in the back. Will be stopping by again on our next trip down to SoCal.

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, and were able to beat the crowd. Found some street parking, a few steps from the shop. Really Enjoyed the drinks. Great tasting coffee at a great price. (We got a cold brew and a turmeric latte). We appreciate how straightforward everything is, no unnecessary fluff.
All was perfect! The food, the service and the atmosphere!! I will be back for sure once I’m back to LA

I stopped in for an iced matcha latte and it was yummy! I ordered it with macadamia milk and a pump of sweetener and it was creamy, grassy, and slightly sweet. The vibe inside, of course, was really inspiring as well. They were playing Bjork so it felt kismet. I will definitely be back for more.

While on a family vacation to California we decided to swing into Kavat Coffee and could not have been more pleased! Firstly, the coffee was AMAZING and the employees were all so welcoming. Timmy, Brooke, and Ara were so kind and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Ara has such a warm and gentle soul, I could easily talk to him for hours. The atmosphere was spot on with clean white walls and beautiful artwork everywhere. Also, there is a large outdoor patio with shade, comfy seating, and even a ping pong table. Such an amazing place with wonderful staff and delicious coffee!! 100% will return next time we are in town. We were SO fortunate/lucky enough to get to spend some time with the owner😉😉 and take a family picture. He was so generous and I cannot thank him enough for taking some time out of his day to make a dream come true. From the bottom of my heart, thank you brother.
Drove all the way from Redlands to taste their coffee and I enjoyed the stuff they had for sale inside like the bands shirts and hoodies, autographed merchandise. Their service was acceptable and the flavor of the matcha drink I ordered was acceptable, my family enjoyed their coffee blends they ordered as well. Very pleased with the experience, prices are reasonable and the hoodie I purchased for my daughter was freaking awesome, a little pricey but well worth it, reversible and thick. Very nice! Paid $130 and well worth it.
The lattes are amazing! Had the sugar cookie one and the banana one and holy shizz! The cookies were amazing! So was the banana bread. We definitely will be coming back. Shout out to brook! (Sorry if we spelled your name wrong) Made our sons bday! He really wanted to visit and we decided to stop by. The staff definitely added that extra magic on his special day. Thank you! Good vibes all around!
I truly love this coffee shop more than any other coffee shop in LA. The staff, service, coffee and pastries are consistently great. Not to mention, the art gallery is fun to browse while waiting for your coffee. For sunny days, the patio is the perfect place to grab coffee with a friend. There's always ample seating inside, too! The vanilla rose, rose latte, or matcha are my go-tos. Get the banana bread!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We visited Kavat Coffee with my wife and absolutely loved everything — the atmosphere, the coffee, and the service were all excellent. On top of that, we were incredibly lucky to see Serj Tankian there, which made the experience even more special and unforgettable. Truly a great place with amazing vibes. Highly recommended!
Absolutely perfect rainy day coffee stop experience! The barista knows her drinks and makes some delicious lattes! A gem of a place.
Went with my son, coffee was great, pastry was delicious. What really stood out was the service, my son really wanted a hoodie and they dug through their storeroom to find something that would fit him. Just an absolute fantastic experience.

Kavat Cafe has got to be one of if not the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to!! The staff were delightful and very welcoming! The coffee was amazing and I especially loved the banana terracotta latte. Very innovative and lovely art!
It’s lovely to come into a coffee shop and be greeted and genuinely asked how your day is going. Told the barista my husband surprised me by taking me to Kavat and she was genuinely happy and welcoming. We talked about the shop and she gave us some recommendations. The cold brew coffee was good. I love when I get a good coffee blend and it taste good. The cafe looked beautiful with all the art that was displayed
My wife had been wanting to check out Kavat Coffee for quite some time, and we finally made it happen! We ordered the Masala Chai, Horchata Matcha, and a Cheese Danish. The barista who took our order and made the drinks was super friendly and welcoming — great customer service goes a long way. ☕✨ Both drinks were delicious and had unique flavors — especially the Masala Chai, which had the perfect spice balance. The only downside was that the prices are a bit on the higher side, but the overall experience made it worth it. The café has a nice, cozy vibe — perfect for a weekend coffee date or catching up with friends. If we’re back in the area, we’d definitely stop by again!
Nice small coffee shop that doubles as an art gallery. Outside patio available and the place is dog friendly. Some small bites available too. Good and affordable. Parking can be a bit difficult depending on when you come by because there is no lot. Just street parking

Very surreal experience as a longtime SOAD fan. I always loved the message behind the music most, and I thought Serj (who is the face of the coffee shop) was more down to earth with regard to his politics. Maybe they just don’t serve gay black people here? Not sure what the issue was, so we saw ourselves out after being ignored and skipped over by the barista for other white customers.
