PI^LA Los Angeles Reviews
I love this place so much! I last-minute decided to host my birthday dinner here and it completely exceeded my expectations. Everyone who worked here was super kind and helpful, and the process of setting up a big group event was super easy and the whole staff made the experience so wonderful. The view from the rooftop is INCREDIBLE! You can see the Hollywood sign, the observatory, and it's in such a vibrant part of Silverlake where there's so much going on! The food was also sooooo good. It's hard to find a rooftop with affordable food that will have something for everyone in LA, but PILA is THEE place. The pizza was incredible and they have so many different options, and they also had a wonderful selection of wine and beer. Could not be more satisfied with my experience here! I will definitely be returning!
New favorite pizza spot! Interesting crusts, love a deep dish. The elote slice is my favorite. The atmosphere is outside on a roof, great spot to watch the sunset! Dog friendly. Street parking can be tricky. BYOB until they get their license!!
It's the most interesting pizza I've had in years. We tried the Frenchie and the GTX, and they're just really good pizzas of what I would want. Deep dish to taste like just very good cheese and ingredients and just not a abomination amount of tomato sauce. The place also has really amazing views from its rooftop terrace over Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, unlike any other restaurant in the area. I will say they did not have heaters now in the winter. They said they're getting them. So at night, it was a bit cold, but hopefully, they fix this soon. Also the pizzas are big so two people can eat off the four slice pizza
The rooftop has amazing views! We went there to celebrate a birthday and had a great time. The place itself is super nice, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We tried a few pizzas, and they were all tasty—but the one with truffle was seriously delicious. Totally recommend it if you’re looking for a chill spot with good vibes, good food, and a cool rooftop.
Gourmet pizza, cold drinks, aesthetic space to hang out. Definitely a neighborhood staple!
I celebrated my birthday and we loved it there!!!! Great food, vibes and staff!!! I’ll be back💚
The pepperoni pizza was delicious and the view is beautiful.

Love this hidden gem!! Delicious pizza with an incredible view!!
I was just passing by and noticed a rooftop, so I decided to check it out—and discovered it’s actually a pizza spot! You place your order, get a number, and head up the elevator—and wow, the views and vibes up there are incredible. The pizza is absolutely top-notch, and the service is amazing. The head of the restaurant personally brought us our pizza and even surprised us with a small pizza box gift to try. Such a thoughtful touch! Highly recommend for the views, the atmosphere, and, of course, the pizza.
Amazing food, service and views. The staff are really friendly and answered all our questions. The pizza options are unique that sets them apart from other pizzeria. I hope they’ll get their liquor license soon, having a cold beer with the rooftop patio would be so amazing.

Who doesn’t enjoy sitting on a nice open air rooftop while enjoying a Detroit like/style pizza? People who hate things. But I don’t hate things. The rooftop is scenic and wonderful for these hot summer evenings. The star of the show is a square Detroit style pizza. Not quite as dense or rectangular, these pizzas are cut into four triangles. If you get the east side version you get that cheese lattice on the side. It provides good crunch. The dough feels like a slightly heavier focaccia, but it works. The pepperoni was cupped and thick. It has slightly crispy edges and offered great chew. The condiments offered are red pepper flakes and a chili oil! The chili oil works and is highly addictive, especially if you like spice. They do not have an alcohol license so there is currently no booze. The smore dessert was interesting. It was a little too thick and the base was a dense shortbread style biscuit. It wasn’t bad, but definitely not my favorite. Other things to note… this is Silverlake so parking will suck. It’s street or neighborhood so keep a look out.

Nice rooftop but pizza was lackluster. Tastes like Amy's frozen pizza

I visited PILA Silverlake on a Sunday around noon, about an hour after they opened. We were the first customers of the day, but unfortunately, the experience was a bit of a letdown. Service: The person taking orders at the counter couldn't answer basic questions about the menu (which is quite short). When asked about the salads and pizzas, he told us he just worked there and didn't know the food. Atmosphere & Seating: We originally came for the rooftop seating, but it was a very hot day and there was absolutely no shade. We did see someone finally setting up umbrellas as we were leaving, but while we were eating, we had to move to a plastic picnic table near the entrance just to get some shade. The ground was slanted and the table was pretty flimsy, so we were sliding around while we ate. Also, a heads up for parents: the elevator was out of order, which looked like a huge hassle for a couple of families who came in with strollers. Food: The Caesar salad tasted good, but the portion was way too small for the price. The pizzas left a lot to be desired. I’m the type of person who always boxes up leftover pizza so it doesn't go to waste, but we ended up leaving this behind because it just wasn't good. Overall, hoping they can work out these operational kinks, but I wouldn't rush back.
The food is baaaad bad bad :(((( the service was bad. The view is amazing but it doesn’t make up for how bad the food is
I live in Silver Lake so was excited to try a new Pizza place. Pizza is legitimately my favorite food. I am from NY and have been in LA 10 years now and prefer a Neapolitan pizza ( Pizzeria Sei is my favorite). I do like to try other types of pizza (Chicago, Detroit, etc.) and found PILA underwhelming at most. I was excited about the roof but don’t think I will be back.
