Shekarchi Bar & Grill Los Angeles Reviews
Amazing management! The onwer’s behavior and the way they treat their customers were very professional!
I love me some good Persian food. Add a beautiful establishment and a tantalizing menu and I’m so there. In town with my family (husband and 2 elementary age kids) and I zeroed in this spot super quick. Armin, the manager, is a gem: kind, friendly, outgoing, personable, generous and in charge. He was very very kind with my children, taking an interest in engaging with them and us. The food didn’t disappoint. We are not Persian btw, but my daughter ordered falafel for the first time and she loved it. The bbq chicken wrap, hummus veggie wrap and beef wrap were delicious. The fries are perfection. Everyone in my family were happy and satisfied. This place should be busier for lunch on a Saturday. Don’t let the 15 min walk from Pico and Figueroa discourage anyone, if anything you’ll work up an appetite. The ingredients are fresh and it’s noticeable. They have a nice bar area. Both booths and regular tables. I highly recommend to any and all.
My friends and I came kind of late. We orders drinks, pizza and some wings. We really did love the wings. They were hot from the heat. I burned my tongue with the first bite but they were good. I will be going back to that place with some friends or by myself.
I really loved this place! I’ve tried many Iranian restaurants in LA, but based on my experience, this was the best. I also tried one in the Westwood district, but the quality at Shekarchi was definitely the best among all the places I visited during my trip. I ordered Tahdig with two stews (Ghorme Sabzi and Gheymeh), as well as two skewers of koobideh with rice and a Diet Coke. Everything was really good, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Fantastic Food and Great Service! We eat at this Restaurant, and we were very impressed! The koobideh was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Ghormeh Sabzi was delicious with a rich, authentic taste that reminded me of home. And I have to mention the tahdig—crispy, golden, and simply amazing. The portions were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine!
What’s not to like!? GM Arman and bar manager Jay are masters of their craft. Amazing and welcoming service with an amazing modern layout. Beautiful bar with a view to the city if you choose. Amazing apps and mains, priced in my opinion low that are of high quality and delicious. I’ve been in the service industry for over a decade, but still in the field of customer service, I’d work here. So happy I’m a hop skip away, they allow my service dog and make me feel welcome. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, take a break from the hustle and bustle and not break your wallet….this is the place! Thank me later.
Shekarchi DTLA is our go-to restaurant for midday lunches, large family dinners and most importantly our big special moments like our daughter’s gender reveal and 4th birthday. Shekarchi & Staff are incredibly friendly, hospitable & are a DTLA local favorite. Beautiful interior. Excellent food. Great service. Having a family meal at Shekarchi DTLA is super special. There’s something about the traditional style Persian meals that speaks to the soul and brings us all together. 💖 Chaee included ;) PS their space is extra clean! 🧼 they make sure that you only get whiffs of good food & no DTLA smells ;) *super important for a dining experience
This place was incredible! Lets just start there My baby girl and I had a last minute date night.. we stopped for some wine down the street and wanted a nice dinner. She found this place and I was too hype she did. Incredible ambiance -soothing music -creative artwork -attentive wait staff Everyone was helpful and looked to help us with any of our needs. Now to the food.. we ordered the branzino & the grilled salmon both had incredible flavor. They were served with dill rice and a flavorful Shirazi. I couldn't stop smelling the food each item was so aromatic. The hummus even the pita bread.. everything was exactly how I'd want it to be and I can't wait to go back Do yourself a favor and make a last minute trip or planned one.. you won't be disappointed
One of the best designed Persian restaurants I have been to. Place is beautiful. The staff are very nice, attentive and professional. I would highly recommend thia place if you are in DTLA area. Update 5-24-22 - Lunch meeting with client went very well. Food and service was great.
We thought we were coming to Sadie's Pizzeria but realised on arrival it's part of Shekarchi. Quickly greeted on entry, we joined our friends already seated at the table with menus. We all ordered our respective pizzas and drinks, which had a choice of different bases including cauliflower. Intrigued, a few of us chose this option. The pizzas all had thin bases. My Mediterranean was crunchy on the edges but soft and gooey in the middle from the melted cheese. I really like the briny olives and tangy tomato flavours combined. The cauliflower base has a mild taste and unique texture. My colleagues enjoyed their respective choices and the rating reflects our collective judgment. There were few diners when we were there but the restaurant has capacity for big celebrations with many seats and a small dance floor. Service was attentive at the table but they would only split payments across 2 cards. This was awkward for the 5 of us afterwards. Conclusion: good pizzas in an exotic place offering Mediterranean fare. We would return if in the area, but not go out of our way to revisit.
Beautiful restaurant setting with spacious tables both round and booth. A medium sized menu consisting of specialties and even a pizza menu. I ordered the koobideh with rice and my partner ordered the dark meat chicken kabob with salad. You’ll have to ask for the garlic sauce if you want it with your dish. They offer free wrap type bread with cold butter. The butter is also for the rice. I wasn’t really a fan of the koobideh, although the meat was very soft and flavourful. The chicken kabob was also a Persian type which is different from the Turkish chicken kabob. The rice was very fluffy and even better when you melt the cold butter and mix it in. The only problem was the refilling of our water by our server. They didn’t really go out of their way to refill and we had to specifically request for it.
My buddy invited me to check this spot out and it’s got an amazing setup as far as ambience/decor. Looks like a fancy Beverly Hills spot but within DTLA. I ordered the lentil soup, dark chicken plate with a side of salmon & a side of hummus. Finished off with a Diet Coke. The lentil soup was alright, I’m used to more lentil pieces and the flavor was ok. The dark chicken and salmon was both perfectly cooked and seasoned. They were very delicious. I’m used to the Zankou style garlic sauce and I know that’s a separate restaurant but the garlic sauce isn’t as buttery and as flavorful as Zankous. The hummus was good and a great addition with the side salad also a solid part of the full meal. I think this spot is excellent, the decor is solid and gives me great first date vibes. Customer service was excellent and I’d definitely come back again to try their other food options. Parking was limited to street and seems to be for more foot traffic.
4/5 Food was plane, nothing very tasty nor special. Kubide(?) was even slightly disappointing. I'd appreciate more if they had more veggies on their dish. And the service was very slow. Even though only 3 tables were occupied, it took more than 30 minutes to just make an eye contact to pay the bill. There are better restaurants to visit in the city.
Our experience at Shekarchi Bar & Grill was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, the host told us our table would be ready right away but that he just needed to clean it first. Instead of doing that, he walked around chatting socially with other guests, not serving them, just talking. After waiting for a while, we had to ask another staff member to clear the table for us. It then took a very long time before anyone brought menus or took our drink and food orders. When the food finally arrived, we realized that none of us had been given a fork. Since the waiters were impossible to get in contact with, we looked around ourselves and eventually had to go all the way to the kitchen to ask for cutlery. The food itself was just okay at best. The plate consisted of about 80% rice and a mediocre salad, with very little meat, definitely not acceptable for a $30 dish. Every restaurant can have a bad day, but if that was the case here, it wasn’t just a bad day. It was a complete collapse in service.
Extremely Disappointing Experience Today my family and I drove 6 hours from San Jose to Los Angeles, and after the long trip, we decided to eat at Chekarchi Restaurant because the place looked beautiful from the outside. Unfortunately, the experience was one of the worst Persian restaurant visits of my life. The chicken was undercooked, the koobideh kabobs were greasy and tasted like fried fat, not grilled meat. We spent $80, and honestly, the only things even remotely edible were the Abali dough and the salad. Everything else was inedible. For such a nice-looking location, I expected much better food and quality. No recommendation at all — I would never return or suggest this place to anyone!!!
