Smeraldi’s Restaurant Los Angeles Reviews
Delicious breakfast buffet in a gorgeous setting. Yummy options like spinach and mushrooms in egg whites, scrambled eggs (soft and creamy but not runny), crispy bacon, breakfast sausage, French toast and breakfast potatoes. Plus there’s great baked goods and fresh fruit. Located in The Biltmore Hotel in the heart of downtown LA. A go skip and jump to The Broad, MOCA and so much more. A definite treat for breakfast. Staff are super attentive. Hats off to Mady Romero and her staff. Yummmmm
I like the place, it's clean and calm. The staff are very attentive. The food tastes great, I enjoyed eating the open crab legs. You don't have to go crazy trying to crack them!
Great food and fantastic service. Definitely coming back again.

I really enjoyed out meal here. The food was delicious and dessert was divine. If you are looking for great Italian food, this is a place to try
This is a good weekday buffet place, reasonably priced with seafood buffet, large shrimps, prime ribs, pasta , etc. Call for what they have that day before you go.
I actually liked this dining establishment, the food is impressive, plus the shower rooms were clean. It was a little chilly inside, so that was not the best. The host is awesome as well. I will most definitely think about returning once more if I get the possibility. Me and my buddy purchased the salad and we were not dissatisfied. My one idea is to keep the chilly outside. Laters!
I want to try something new and now they re-open the restaurant. Went for lunch and I like the quiet atmosphere. The food and service was good. If you’re staying in the hotel, go try the restaurant. It’s clean, fast service.
The host named Jorge was such a charming gentleman and my waiter was superb. It was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Excellent food and quick service.
My family and I were in town for a funeral and it had been a very long day. We arrived back to the hotel just before 10pm (closing time) and called the Maitre d to ask if they'd stay open for us. After a brief time she came back on the line and said yes! Six weary travelers shuffled into the restaurant to a smiling staff. We were the only ones in the place and they treated us like family. To be honest, I can't remember what I ate 'cuz it didn't really matter. My family was taken care of as though we were there during normal hours. We were not rushed nor were we made to feel pressured to leave once we finished our meal. The staff stayed late for us and made a great ending to a long day. I can't thank you enough for the professional courtesy and great service. Thank you!
Excellent food. Attentive staff. Pleasant environment. Situated in the Biltmore hotel in Los Angeles. The breakfast buffet is amazing but you can just order from your table as well. Wish I was there right now.
Highly recommend the spaghetti Veal awesome service ever so great nice little hole in the wall under neath the Millennium Beltmore Hotel highly recommend you stay aswell Thanks to those who work this past weekend Millennium you got a great staff they what makes the stay at your hotel my choice in down town LA. Worth staying also one more thing recommend getting the VIP lounge in your stay Thanks
I had the pleasure of having Thanksgiving lunch at The Biltmore with my family, restoring a time-honored tradition going back many years. As always, the food was exceptional. Highlights were the sweet potatoes (which was like candy) and the turkey itself (especially the dark meat portions... as I tend to pass over dark meat). I hope the Thanksgiving buffet held at Smeraldi's (and one of the ballrooms in the years prior to the pandemic) returns. What was missed was gingerbread house entry to the restaurant, the prime rib and the assortment of tiny desserts from those buffet days. As always, the service is top notch. My sister and I even recognized quite a few of the serving and hosting staff from at least 15 years ago. Special thanks to Mady and the entire staff. I very much look forward to more annual Thanksgiving meals and even some random dining in the future. Strolling through the halls of such a beautiful hotel and walking off the meal and taking pics capped another wonderful Biltmore experience.

Amazing breakfast buffet! Took a little while to get our menus, but after that everything was great!
The food was very tasty. Great and fresh products, simply cooked. We had dinner pretty late and only a few tables were occupied but still it was pretty noisy. Must be terrible during rush hours.

This restaurant is connected to the beautiful and historic Biltmore hotel. Unfortunately, the food doesn't come close to its stately setting. I've given them three tries to make a decent breakfast and it seems to be impossible for them. Revamp your kitchen staff and make better, fresher food!! I feel sorry for your servers who know the food is not up to standard.

Stay away from this restaurant. Picture is what u get when u order a 'Manhattan steak' after u remove the part that can't be eaten, and the meat was super hard to chew. That plate is $45, they include 20% tip to all their price by default (u only find out when you have a look at their printed menu). 1 waiter was rude to customers and to the bus waiter. Many customers were left hanging in the lobby after 1pm only to be told they wont have a table, even if this restaurant's website says service until 2pm. I've put 2 stars and not just 1, as in the lobby we were welcomed by a nice and smiling young lady, then it went downhill after that.

Ate here over several days. Food inconsistent, silverware is flaking (!?); waitstaff is friendly but then I got left in a corner by my server and finally went to hostess to pay. If my conference is held at this hotel again, I will make other food arrangements.

The service was horrible. Maybe it was my skin color. I was not greeted by any of the staff once I was seated. However every other customer was served. Just sad ! I could think of so many things to say. Then to have food that was less was horrible. It doesn't compare to Hilton just across the street. I will leave it at all money is green and I will not be returning.
My husband and I ate here while we were attending a museum conference at the Millenium Biltmore. My husband ordered the wonton soup and the closest thing i can think of to describe the taste is "dirty feet with a fishy accent". I would not recommend! It was absolutely horrible! I tried it and immediately had to spit it into my napkin. I ordered a chicken dish for myself. The quality of the chicken was disgusting but the flavor of the sauce was fine. To top it all off, I ordered a boba tea and the bobas were complete MUSH at the bottom of my glass. It was as if they had been sitting out for HOURS. Gross! I expected a lot more at this price and atmosphere. Will not patronize again.
Wow. As another review says, do yourself a favor and stay away. It is an expensive place to get the cheapest Sysco breakfast ever. This is the type of breakfast that you could get at a budget hotel for free, but they charge you $44 per person (after tax and tip) to eat really bad quality food in the basement of the hotel. For the food, think boxed eggs, cereal, factory cut fruit, factory made pastries, cereal, etc. Additionally, even though the entire restaurant was empty, they attempted to seat me directly next to the server station that smelled like standing water. They were annoyed when I switched my seat, but they could of just sat me in a normal seat to begin with. There are multiple other options for breakfast in the area. Steer clear of here.
