Spicy BBQ Los Angeles Reviews
i’ve been coming here for years, and the food is consistently amazing. a seriously underrated thai restaurant. Natty who runs this place always remembers her customers and asks how you’re doing. the food is so flavorful. a perfect blend of spicy and sour. my favorites are the northern sausage, northern larb, and jackfruit salad, but you can’t go wrong here. please come support this place!
Amazing food!!! Very tasty, nice portions, and a great price per order. I ordered their pad Thai, bbq pork (amazing sauce), orange chicken, fried shrimp and seafood soup (coconut style). I was extremely satisfied and honestly, probably one of the best Thai restaurants I have eaten from. Their restaurant is small but that didn't matter since I ordered to go. If you're in the area, you definitely have to try. 5 stars for me.
I love Northern Thai food, especially Khao Soi. Spicy BBQ’s Khao Soi has earned a special place in my heart. Every component makes it so extraordinary, especially how well the egg noodles are cooked and the broth (oooooooh, the broth). I’ve had problems where the chicken can be gamey, but not here! I had my very first Kai Kua, and I enjoyed it! Noodles can be heavy, but this had me going back for thirds and fourths! Their Hung Lay is exceptionally robust in flavor, and the pork is tender. And of course, their spicy bbq? Its darn good, but I don’t even have to elaborate on that. They don’t skimp on meat, noodles, or the size of their dishes. It’s truly a family style spot. We shared 4 dishes between 3 hangry people and left with leftovers enough for the three of us! The little details is what I also love- the rose-shaped wrapper in our straws, the roasted peanuts in the Hung Lay, the freshly shaved cabbage resting under the bbq pork, and the spicy vinegar side addition. They don’t come unnoticed to me. All hits here. Staff is lovely, especially Natty. She’s established a great spot that’s deserving of its praises.
Don’t let the sketchy neighborhood scare you. Just walk in and enjoy the most authentic northern Thai food in LA. To be honest, it is hard to find northern Thai food even in Bangkok. So this place is heaven. Order all the strange food that is not in any typical Thai food. You will be amazed 😊
This small restaurant is very close to residential area, heart of LA. Food here was very flavorful. We order Tom Yum seafood soup, Pad see ew chicken, pad won Sen chicken, morning glory (ong choi), green curry with chicken, bbq pork and fried shrimp; that's a lot for 4 of us! But since this was our first time here, we wanted to try as many dishes. All very tasty. We'll be back!
If you are ever looking for northern Thai food. This is the place to go to. Their northern thai food are on point. Everything tastes so freakin good. Every time we come, we always over order. Yes, 5 dishes for only 2 people.
Got the spicy bbq pork plate and it was some of the best takeout I’ve had in LA. The meat was tender with crispy edges, the shrimp fried rice was to die for and for $20 I got three portions out of it. Highly recommend.
One of my FAVORITE Thai restaurants in LA that's serving up dank Northern Thai cuisine. Great portions, fair prices and a great range of flavors...never had a bad dish yet. Also, if you're ever in a chatting mood the story of how this place came to be is heartwarming so be sure to ask for an added humanity bonus. Had the Mixed Salad and WOW 😳 I was surprised by the array of sweet, salt and spice and it was gone in seconds; twas so nice I'll order it twice. Get over there and enjoy!
This is a must have every time I am in L.A.! The Khao Soi soup here is amazing and the fried dumplings are the best I’ve ever had! It’s a quaint little restaurant that gives a family vibe every time I visit. My first visit years ago was made special by Mrs. Kay, I was sad to hear that she was no longer working here during my last visit. The food is still very good, I would recommend stopping by if you are ever in the area.
Flew down from Canada and my friend recommended my wife and I come here. Such a good recommendation! 10:10 recommend the pork combo player as well as tofu pad thai and any of the starters.
Love the falafel and shawarma. Absolutely delicious. Raunchy area but whatever.
Excellent bbq pork with fried rice and Northern Thai egg noodles (spicy). They are literally beyond my expectations. Unfortunately, they are my regular menus, so I can't try others because they are too delicious😎 Worth visiting.
Food is so delicious! One of my favorite Thai food restaurants. Feels cozy, Great portions but cash only. They do have a ATM inside. My favorite dish is the Beef Pad Thai.
Best Thai food in LA. Order from their northern Thai food menu and work your way through every item. They're all fantastic.

The best Thai restaurant hands down. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing food, we all ate even after we were full! Best service ever! I will eat here everytime I am back in LA. Thank you for a authentic home-cooked meal!
It's your classic hole in the wall. Small cramped. But well decorated inside and the food is simply amazing. Try the larb or the thai sausage. It's run by a bunch of old thai woman. And they can really cook. The neighborhood is a little sketchy. There was a young kid looked about 18 that was living on the street nearby. He looked like he had been sniffing flue all afternoon. But the food is all worth it trust me.
The food was surprisingly good! We really liked the crab fried rice and the morning glory. Took around 20 minutes for the food to come out.
Restaurant can accommodate around 20 people total and is cash only. Definitely a no frills kind of place, as the staff is laid back and even the mug my tea was served in obviously came from a second hand store. Had the Pad See Mao, it was delicious and I wasn't left completely drenched in sweat fron the heat. Extremely friendly staff. Overall great experience!
Their pork bbq was the best we’ve ever had at any Thai restaurants! It was juicy, smoky, and full of flavor! The portion was HUGE, too! Their Thai curry egg noodle was good also but too sweet for me. I’ve tried their clear noodle dish and fried rice in the past and all in all, their food seems authentic and definitely regional, i.e. Northern Thai style. If you are up to trying somewhat different Thai food, try this place! Side note: staff are so kind and friendly and there are about five tables. Cash only but ATM machine inside the restaurant. Restroom is located upstairs and requires you to climb the stairs.

Enormous portions of food!! Fried rice was nice but pad thai was very average. The north thai dish had a really tasty broth but the noodles and beef wasn’t great. I would recommend having chicken instead. Worth a visit for sure.

It pains me to step on a small business struggling to survive but the quality of the food here is horrendous. Everything tasted like something else, and something not necessarily edible, no surprise because flavors will surely evolve when subject to heat by microwave over a period of a few days. The pad thai smelled like fat thighs. That's not a lame pun. Taste it to believe folks.
