I think I ordered one of everything!! So good and be ok with a line or waiting for your favorite donut. They go fast so go early!

Omg! These did not disappoint! One of the best donuts I've ever had! Definitely the freshest! I can not wait to go back to California to try the other flavors! I love this place so much! I wish they would open locations in different states.

Fresh, unique flavors that make me go "ughhgmmmmmmm". Favorites were Butter&salt, huckleberry, blueberry. Stayed for 5 days in LA and went twice. The workers are super friendly! Side note, the vietnamese coffee is nothing like the real one (no condensed milk) but still tasty!

Sidecar doughnuts are the cakey type, a bit on the pricier side, but they’re still really good. I recommend the huckleberry one and the vanilla bean glazed too. The Fairfax location has a very convenient parking lot in the front.

Been wanting to try Sidecar Doughnuts and I’m so happy I did! I ordered the Choc-a-lot and it’s the perfect amount of sweetness! I would definitely come back to try the other flavors !

Great selection of doughnuts and vegan option and gluten free options! I liked my butter & salt choice my wife didn’t care too much for her choice!

Delicious, freshly made donuts in a variety of unique flavors that aren’t ridiculous. I love getting them for friends/ work bc it levels up the donut game from the ordinary pink-box donuts. The presentation is always impressive and the actual quality and taste doesn’t disappoint.

Dare I say that these were the best donuts I’ve ever had in my life? I dare say I do! The next level flavors of the butter and salt donut when it is warm and fresh are out of this world. And do not sleep on the huckleberry because picking my favorite between it and the butter and salt is like picking a favorite child. As like most donuts they are much better hot and fresh which is why I didn’t think the old fashioned was anything special. They are constantly pumping out fresh donuts which is why they don’t always have full inventory so I’d recommend that you ask which donuts just came out and treat yo self!

Very good "fancy" donut shop. The flavors are complex and delicious. A must stop if you are on a donut tasting tour of LA.

Butter and salt doughnut is unlike any I've had before! You have to get it. The glaze is sweet and salty in the best way. The doughnut itself was thick enough to leave me satisfied but not feel too heavy. The huckleberry doughnut was the runner up with a very muffin-like texture.

One of the best doughnut spots in LA. Came here on a Saturday around 1 (tryna celebrate National Doughnut Weekend) and there was a short line that moved quickly. Validated 1 hour parking is available (Sidecar validation machine is right by the register) otherwise it’s $2 for each 15 mins thereafter. Credit cards are accepted. There are a couple of outdoor tables to enjoy your food/drinks around the corner. You can’t go wrong with any of the doughnuts. There are classic flavors as well as rotating seasonal flavors, so you’ll always have an array of options. For the classic flavors, birthday cake and maple bacon are my faves. This time, we went for some seasonal flavors, which included a strawberry cream (stupendous), a Salt&Straw collaboration cookie dough (amazing), and a Poptart (very yummy). All the doughnuts are made fresh each hour and there aren’t any preservatives. They have drink options as well, and the iced matcha latte with oat milk I had was well made. Shout out to Marissa who still hustled and helped us even with her broken arm (you’re the best!) as well as Chloe who was very helpful and sweet. My mom still worries about my sugar intake, but I’d say Sidecar is well worth it. Enjoy!

Loved this place! Im from out of town and will definitely be back. Love the rotating menu of donuts. We split a few different flavors and definitely will be back to do it again. Loved the chocolate peanut butter! They have a shared paid parking lot in the back.

Gonna take forever if I do individual reviews for each donut so I'm just gonna leave my recommendations. My favorites are still the butter and salt, the original, and old fashioned. The other donuts are still really good but the 3 more plain flavors really bring out the flavor of their fresh ingredients. They didn't have the basil eggs Benedict donut this time which is my personal favorite of theirs for uniqueness, wow factor, and taste. Their coffee is also string if you like strong coffee.

I’ve had Sidecar many times over the years and moved up from San Diego where I grew up 4 years ago, but when I lived there, I actually was not a fan of them. Since I have moved up, I am now a fan, although I do get it rarely for waistline reasons. The donuts are a bit expensive as many people have already mentioned, but they are seriously yummy and they always have great and unique flavors. Considering this is a rare treat the price point does not bother me at all. My favorite flavors are the Malasada, Salty Caramel and Huckleberry. I have pretty much tried every flavor except the Basil Benedict although I plan to go in the future to get that flavor specifically. I would recommend to any fan of donuts or anyone looking for a seriously delicious treat.

A solid location for one of my favorite doughnut shops. Sidecar serves the freshest and most delicious doughnuts as each are made in small batches. Each of the mainstay flavors is tasty and they also have creative rotating seasonal flavors too. Depending on the time of day you go it can get busy but they help you out quickly. There is no seating area inside but lots of table space outside as well as next door at the neighboring restaurant. Parking wise there is an entire lot attached that has validated parking for free. If you’re in the area and need a sugar pick me up, definitely visit Sidecar!

Honestly the best vanilla latte I've had in a long time the donut was good but I'm not a big fan of caked donuts so that's the only reason it was four instead of five stars service was wonderful. I will go back

Little place with the best doughnuts in LA, I love that the doughnuts are classic and you can taste every ingredient. I always order the huckleberry that has a fruity flavor mixed with dough and sweetness, the old fashioned that can never go wrong and the butter and salt that has an odd but delicious taste. There is only outdoor sitting and it’s nice.

L

I like donuts that are cakey and not oily Krispy Kreme style, so I really enjoyed this one.

Fun hip take on your usual donuts. Service was very friendly and they had samples too. My faves were the old fashioned and huckleberry but they had a lot of other flavors too. I’m very partial to traditional donuts that are light and yeasty but these are good enough to make an exception. Not sure how their coffee is but these are def the type of donuts that pair really well with a hot cup. Tried a few more of their flavor since and upgrading my review. They’re fantastic.

Overall: 9/10 Best coffee spot around Farmers market / The Grove area. I tried 'em all. Coffee: 8/10. Very good cappucino. It's a bit acidic and sour, but surprisingly very tasteful. Seems like a medium roast. It's on the same level as Blue Bottle cappucino, which is my favorite in LA. They have milk options as well. Price: 9/10. It's $5 for the small cappucino, which is expensive but $1 cheaper than Blue Bottle cappucino. Same quality. Service: 10/10. Very friendly. Good vibes. They accommodated me two minutes before they closed. Kudos! Interior: 7/10. Nothing special. It's a coffee corner, not a large coffee place. They have a few seats outside. Interior design is there (as it can be at this small place). They also sell nice-looking doughnuts, which I didn't try. But it seems like a good variety.

Their donuts are amazing. Different than a pink box type of place. More consistent with a cake donut. I strongly recommend eating them fresh. They are at their best recently out of the oven. But can't go wrong even if enjoyed hours later. The location has parking but you need to remember to validate. Butter and salt is their most popular option for a reason.

Best doughnuts I’ve ever had. I honestly can’t wait to come back to Cali to eat here again. The cookie dough was probably my favorite if I had to choose but it’s a tough call because they are all amazing! The Girl Scout cookie flavors are all delicious. Lemon curd is mouthwatering. The eggs Benedict doughnut absolutely blew my mind! So much more than a cool concept; it delivers a full brunch experience inside a doughnut. The Vietnamese iced coffee was so strong and tasty. Just the perfect way to start a day

Amazing doughnuts! They have a good variety of unique flavours. The doughnuts are incredibly fresh and taste incredible. Definitely one of the best doughnuts that I’ve ever tried. Our favourite of the ones we tried was the “Choc A Lot”, but they are all great!

Favorite doughnut place iN LA!! My only complaint is that I wish they were bigger. They’re normal sized but I’m a fan of giant doughnuts - these doughnuts are fluffy and soft inside and melts inside your mouth. I had the strawberries and cream doughnut and my friend had the huckleberry cake doughnut. The strawberries and cream had a sweet creamy filling and overall They’re pretty quality. I also had a matcha iced latte which was good as well. Sidecar is also a bit more on the pricier side, but the doughnuts are tasty. I recommend coming here if you’re visiting LA and looking for doughnut places!!

look-to everyone who sees the reviews saying people are mad they had to wait a few minutes-this is the reality of donuts of this calibar-of any food of this calibar-When you order a burger and fries and its ready in a few minutes vs say 10-15, what does this tell you? Do you notice the quality change? See my other reviews from around the world on donut places-This are the best donuts in the world. For a time it was District in the south(and vegas) but this place has mastered every flavor and texture of dough and batter to produce what is almost totally different items every time you bite into one. You cant go wrong but i recommend bring people to share with. If you dont like cake doughnuts-get a cake doughnut and same way for the yeast raised. Great experience here and i cant believe they maintain this quality across multiple locations.

Friend took the out of town here. He likes their coffee but tried the Vietnamese drip coffee. I had a taste and it was average. I’d recommend sticking with their other store favorite: their latte. I picked up ONE doughnut to try—the blueberry whatever. Pretty damn good but for $4-plus dollars? It’s just pretty good. Soft, moist on the inside. Good flavor. Warm. Random: I ate a quarter of it the next morning and it reminded me of the chain blueberry doughnut hole from…Dunkin Doughnuts. Probably sacreligious to say but who cares. I’d give the ONE doughnut a 4.5 star. The overall? 4 star when factoring in price.

Really loved the service. Super nice and helpful for someone walking in for the first time. I got the huckleberry, lemon pound cake, and Saigon Cinnamon donuts. Loved the cinnamon, the lemon was my second favorite, and the huckleberry was okay. I would definitely visit again.

We happened to be within the area over the weekend so we opted to preorder a half dozen ($29) to try their popular Dubai Chocolate doughnut. Ordered 4 Dubai Chocolate ($6.5/ea) and 2 Saigon Cinnamon. I personally wasn't a fan of the Dubai chocolate one due to my preference of how I like my pistachio. Found out I'm not big on pistachios as a cream filling. I thought it was way overwhelming in flavor and made the dessert not very enjoyable. But their Saigon Cinnamon was delicious! It wasn't too sweet and the cinnamon spice was 🤌🏻✨. The cake was soft and moist, not dry at all, 5/5 for the Saigon Cinnamon one.

April 2025: I came back to try a seasonal donut - the yeasty Lavender and honey bee donut. Made with brioche dough. Yum. A $5 donut that I enjoyed thoroughly. Sprinkled with bee pollen. My friend hated her Vietnamese coffee though. She said the condensed milk was gross. *shrugs* July 2024: I stumbled upon this donut shop in Beverly Grove, and let me tell you, the blueberry pancake donut absolutely knocked my socks off! I decided to visit right at the end of the day, just before closing, and even then, it was still incredibly delicious.

I got the Maple Bacon Donut, which had a great maple flavor, but not much bacon on it at all. The staff greeted everyone who walked in the door. They had samples available. Small location inside, but had some available chairs and tables outside. Very clean location. It is more on the expensive side for donuts, but it's also because they are specialty donuts, not the typical breakfast donut shop

Great donuts with really unique flavors and cute packaging. Got the basil eggs Benedict which was delicious - had a poached egg, basil hollandaise and ham!!! Definitely a must have there. Also ordered two of their fall seasonal flavors - sage apple pie (really didn’t like it, sage flavor was overpowering but my partner loved it) and pumpkin cheesecake (not overpowering pumpkin spice flavor, very moist). Their seasonable drink, the black fog milk oat tea, was great as well. The Fairfax location is small so it only fit a few customers at a time and the acoustics make it difficult to hear/speak to staff. But they have an outdoor pickup window so you don’t have to stay inside.

Have come to this location twice and tried about 5 different flavors. The line moves quickly, they are able to do decaf espresso beverages and have amazingly tasty cake donuts. This is one of the few locations where the cake donuts almost outshine the yeasted rise ones. My favorite flavors so far are probably the huckleberry as well as the seasonal flavors of Meyer lemon and passion fruit pavlova if you are feeling especially decadent and sinful. The only reason they did not get 5 stars from me is that the donuts are a bit on the pricey size averaging about $4 each. I do recommend ordering online through their website - you can avoid any line and the wait by doing so and they have very clear pictures available for you to peruse.

This place looked like a good place to have a donut for dessert 🍨 but unfortunately we were disappointed 😔 the peanut butter donut 🍩 was very dense and doughy as if not completely baked properly and only was able to take two bites. The service was friendly and wheelchair ♿️ accessible. Follow me for places to go and eat and honest reviews.

Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee has potential, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The standout of my visit was the excellent service from John, which somewhat compensated for the underwhelming doughnuts. We sampled the Huckleberry, a cinnamon one, the Butter and Salt, and the Chocolate doughnuts, but they were all disappointingly dry. The Butter and Salt doughnut, though well-balanced, couldn't redeem the overall experience. The Chocolate doughnut was particularly disappointing with an overpowering amaretto flavor. Despite the lackluster doughnuts, the friendly and attentive service from John was a highlight and made the visit more enjoyable. While the prime location and quality service are promising, they need to significantly improve their doughnut recipes to ensure a better customer experience.

I've never been to this location of Sidecar before, and haven't had Sidecar in over a year so it was an exciting day. We ordered the huckleberry, lemon poppy seed, the old fashioned, the seasonal strawberry old fashioned and the dulce de leche. The old fashioneds weren't the best we had, and the lemon had a metallic chemical twang we all couldn't get around. We also opted for the new pineapple spritzer but found that the pineapple flavor was way too light, definitely not worth the $5.

After my sister's enthusiastic recommendation, I was excited to try half a dozen donuts from this place, sampling flavors like huckleberry, butter & salt, lemon pound cake, old-fashioned, strawberry buttermilk, and vanilla bean glazed. I left feeling underwhelmed. The flavors simply didn't deliver. The shockling popular huckleberry donut was nearly flavorless, and the strawberry buttermilk failed to capture any of the fruitiness. Even the classic old-fashioned and lemon pound cake felt lackluster. The yeasty donuts, instead of being soft and moist, had a day-old texture that was disappointing. The long box, while aiming for uniqueness, made the donuts feel cramped. I can't imagine how a dozen would fit in there! A standard box would have been more practical. Overall, while these donuts were fine, they didn't stand out. I just don’t understand the hype surrounding them.

E
Elspeth

Overall I am a fan of Sidecar. They offer mostly cake donuts and some raised donuts. Usually they have a sample which I enjoy but this past time there weren't any :( But right now I'm not in a rush to go back because the lemon pound cake is gone. I can understand changing the menu, but all the other regular donuts are still there - why not make more changes than just one donut, if you must make changes? why punish only the lemon fans? Anyway, maybe if you go there not knowing that lemon existed you'll be okay, but it is disappointing to me and I looked forward to going to Sidecar for months since the last time I was in the area.

Sidecar has some pretty solid donuts. I would call them pastries over donuts though. I was excited for this Apple Pan collab donut with Sidecar and had it yesterday. It was not good at all. No flavor really. No taste. Barely any sweetness. I don’t really get it. If they put a regular Sidecar donut like an Old Fashioned or glazed donut with Apple Pans apple pie it would be so delicious. We got neither with this donut. The worst part is I bought 2 of them. $12 down the drain. I could’ve got a dozen donuts from a hole in the wall donut shop for $12 and been so much happier. Disappointing

I love Sidecar donuts and have been coming here for years. For some reason I’ve experienced a decline when the customer service at this location. To clarify I am not saying each employee has horrible customer service at this location because some are outstanding everytime. When I do have a positive experience I leave a positive review. Today I received an email saying the Berry Parfait Donut was leaving soon so I went to go try it because I hadn’t tried it yet. My husband and I walk in, no one greeted us, and both employees stayed silent the whole entire time. Even when I asked for my donut he just grabbed it boxed it up and checked me out with out saying one word and looked extremely annoyed that he “had to help us” As you can tell in the photo the donut was not made right and was not made with of love, had no Berry flavor and taste dry and overcooked. The person that “helped” is said his name was Mario. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or what? And the other gentleman working alongside Mario was no better, he had in both AirPods and didn’t acknowledge us at all. The whole visit this morning was very disappointing and was a rude and unforgettable experience. I may just start going to a different location because they just wasn’t cool.

I was reluctant to get coffee at a donut shop but they have a proper menu and machine so I went for my usually flat white. The outcome is an extremely short one, filling just two thirds of a 6oz cup. The latte art was a small circle of foam that I saw the barista scooping out of the jug and added to the coffee. It's just not the same level of coffee that you would get from a specialty shop. As for donuts, I never liked donuts but I tried two. They were ok, did not change my mind.

The doughnut was "just ok." The coffee was not great at all. Regarding the indifferent attitude queen at the counter, I thought to myself, "This is why robots are taking these jobs." Comically, like, textbook-bad service. Why would anyone ever go here twice?

If you're looking to pay $6 for a mediocre donut l, this is your place. The donuts are unique creations. I couldn't actually find one that looked good to be honest, but my teenage daughter thought this place had a amazing donuts.

Drove 20 mins for a Too good to go offer but was cancelled and they were not willing to offer to complete the offer even tho they had so many available at the last 2 minutes of closing. Bait and switch they wanted to sell old donuts from earlier in the day at full price or just “donate them” to someone else apparently. They offered a sample. What a joke.

I live within walking distance and have been here several times, but after today I think I’m done. I stopped in to grab some donuts and try a new seasonal coffee, but the service was flat-out disrespectful. One customer was chatting casually with two employees while the coffee guy seemed to be making himself a drink, as no one else was in the store. After waiting a few mins, another customer came in and still no greeting or acknowledgment. All three guys up front, plus one in the back, clearly saw and chose to ignore me. They checked out the first guy, and not one of them said a word. It was honestly bizarre. I stood there long enough to realize they had no intention of helping and left. I went to a spot in The Grove instead, where the staff actually know how to treat customers. It’s unacceptable and from what I’m seeing in other reviews, it’s not an isolated incident, especially towards women. Management really needs to step in, because whoever owns this franchise should know customers are being disrespected and driven away by staff who clearly don’t care. 👎

Took only one doughnut to try, unfortunately mine was dry from the outside and wasn’t fully ready from the inside... The floor inside and out was dirty and the macchiato was the wrong ratio between the espresso and milk. Not sure if they upholding their name.
