Totoyama Sushi & Ramen Los Angeles Reviews
I had the sushi, 🌈rainbow roll, and soft shell crab hand roll. The size of the rolls were perfect, not too small and not too large, the perfect bite! Everything was top notch 10 out of 10. Ramen was also excellent as my son doesn't usually eat much, he ate the whole thing! Hot green tree was also just what the doctor ordered for my wife's ailing sinuses. It was very hot and delicious perfect for a chilly afternoon. Since it literally at the steps of the Pantages we are most definitely coming back.
Got off the hop on and off bus looking for a lunch special and found this place on Google. So glad I did, our food came out pretty quickly and the waitress was a sweetheart. She helped my nephew navigate chopstick usage when he declined a fork. I would definitely return when back in the area.
I had an outstanding experience at Totoyama Sushi & Ramen in Hollywood — hands down, some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! The quality and freshness of the rolls were simply incredible. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could really taste how fresh the seafood was. We ordered a roll with eel, and to my surprise, the eel portion was three times larger than the rice — something you rarely see, especially in the U.S. The portions overall were huge — definitely generous enough to satisfy any sushi lover. The presentation was also impressive, with a diverse and creative arrangement that made the dishes look just as good as they tasted. Now, let’s talk about the prices — they were shockingly low! I honestly didn’t expect to find such high-quality seafood at such affordable prices in America. It felt like an absolute steal for the kind of meal we had. A special mention goes to the chef, who not only prepared everything super quickly but also took the time to guide us through the menu. He was incredibly helpful, pointing out which rolls were made exclusively with seafood and which ones might be prepared alongside non-halal ingredients — something I really appreciated.
I must stop if you’re in the area, a nice hidden gem tucked away in the city! The service was amazing and they definitely made me feel at home for the 30 minutes. I was there. My friend and I enjoyed these delicious sake martinis! Which I never knew were a thing? And they were so delicious! Decided to grab a little sushi appetizer ( the spider roll) WOW ! I definitely will be coming back here with my girlfriends!
A Hidden Gem on Hollywood Boulevard – Fresh Food and Exceptional Service! I had the pleasure of dining at Totoyama Sushi and Ramen on Hollywood Boulevard, and it was a great experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely top-notch. The sushi was incredibly fresh, with each piece crafted to perfection. The sashimi practically melted in my mouth, and the rolls were flavorful and beautifully presented. I also tried their ramen, and it was rich, savory, and perfectly balanced—comfort food at its finest. What stood out most was the attention to detail. From the quality of the ingredients to the presentation, it’s clear Totoyama takes pride in every dish they serve. The atmosphere was cozy yet modern, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. If you’re in Hollywood and craving fresh sushi or hearty ramen, I highly recommend stopping by Totoyama. You won’t be disappointed!
I love that I can have gluten-free sushi. Spicey tune was delicious! I did not get sick after. Food was prepared well for me, I am very sensitive. Great place to eat before a show at the Pantages. I couldn't have some of their specials but need a picture.
July 2025 update: they’ve added a second vegan ramen and a chalk board showing all the vegan options (see photo)! Totoyama has great vegan ramen! It’s creamy and spicy, and one of the best I’ve had in Los Angeles. I recommend adding tofu. They also have vegan tuna (!!) rolls, along with a variety of vegetable ones. The avocado rolls are always perfect. The prices are decent and they have a large selection of sake, including a flight option. Even though there is fish listed in the vegetable/vegan section of the menu they are knowledgeable about what vegan means and I’ve never once had an issue. Service is always friendly and fast. Local tip: keep an eye on the Pantages schedule as the bridge and tunnel crowd can fill this spot up before a show.
Totoyama Sushi & Ramen is top quality establishment at a very cool location. Every item we ordered here was throughly enjoyed by our party. You could tell that good quality ingredients were used because you are ready to go about your day even after eating a lot! The drinks were decent. The service there is friendly, courteous, and professional. Would definitely recommend Totoyama Sushi & Ramen to anyone in the area!
We just moved here and wanted to try a local spot and my god did we find something good! First-The location was right off Hollywood boulevard, right next to a parking garage. So it’s really convenient for anyone arriving or leaving the boulevard and want a really good bite to eat. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating and bar seats which is great to see! Second-the food was phenomenal! We started off with the Green salad which had a really good dressing to it and was a pretty good size for a starter salad, and we also got an order of gyazo and they were mouth watering. For our meals we got Kyushu Ramen and Vegetable Ramen both with non spicy broth and they were beyond good! Also all the food coming out looked incredible as well! I HIGHLY recommend
Great place for a meal before a show at the Pantages, but give yourself time since it tends to be packed in the 2 hours before shows. They're great about being fast. Also fabulous with food allergies!
Totoyama exceeded all my expectations for Japanese cuisine. This restaurant truly offers some of the best and most unique sushi rolls I've ever tasted. The flavors were phenomenal! I was equally impressed by their ramen, boasting a depth of flavor I haven't experienced elsewhere. To top it off, Totoyama has a fantastic selection of Japanese beers that pair perfectly with their dishes. If you love authentic Japanese food with a creative touch, Totoyama is a must-try!
The ramen broth was delicious. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated but we also came in right at 6PM with in 10 minutes they were really busy. I suggest reserving a table. The service was excellent. The sushi rolls 🤤
Great food great service and and well worth the price! I just visited for the first time with my family and though we were super disorganized as far as ordering the waitress did an amazing job. The sushi was amazing, and the ramen looked really good as well! I’ll definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu. So far my favorite roll is the salmon avocado, as it’s garnished with lemon and has so much flavor in each bite. We liked it so much we ended up ordering seconds!
Number 1. 2 hours of parking is paid for. We tried several different dishes. All were extremely good and tasty 😋. Service was excellent. It was my first time trying Eel it was amazing. I will be back.

We love this place! The Tonkotsu Ramen is some of the best ramen in Hollywood. Highly recommend their red snapper & yellow tail otoro nigiri.
This is THE BEST ramen and sushi around. Every time I’m in LA I come here. The food is incredible, priced well, and the staff are amazing!
This has become our go-to spot before shows at the Pantages. After many failed attempts to find a good restaurant in the area, we finally discovered this gem. It always gets busy on show nights, but the team has their system dialed in — food comes out fast, service is efficient, and tables turn over smoothly. The food and service were both incredible, and we made it to the show with full, happy bellies. Highly recommend!
Really good food, and for people who don't eat pork, they have chicken and beef ramen woth each of their broth also, and it's so good, totally recommend. Reminded me of the food when I did go to Japan.

As Aussies travelling in America, sometimes you just need a quiet evening without having to reciprocate high energy service. This was the comforting meal with polite service we needed. The food felt healthy and the service allowed us to feel comfortable in our own space.
The staff at this restaurant were very polite and understanding. I do wish my Tonkotsu ramen had more broth flavor in it. I remember getting moderate spice level but wasn’t that spicy as I imagined it to be. Food presentation looked nice and the ramen was boiling hot. But my stomach was fulfilled and happy! 🙂☺️

Super cute, clean place! Their bathrooms are amazing lol. Ramen was tasty, and my rolls were yummy 😋 Service is phenomenal!! They didn't judge me when I spilled water 😬 Def gotta come back

Solid sushi and ramen on the east end of the hollywood walk of fame. I happened upon this place while waiting for a Funko Pop order, and decided to have lunch. Nice service and yummy ramen. 😋
My mom and I have been coming here for YEARS before catching a show at the Pantages, but after last week, that tradition is officially over. We showed up on Tuesday and the server told us we could only sit outside. No biggie, except there wasn’t a single open table out there. We noticed a few empty ones inside, asked if we could sit there, and got a quick “not without a reservation” before she walked away. Alright then. No biggie, we decided to just grab food to go. While we were waiting at the register to order, two white women walked in and asked for a table. For context, my mom and I are Latina. The same server immediately grabbed menus to seat them, but then she noticed us watching. Suddenly she asked, “Do you have a reservation?” They said, “At the Pantages.” She clarified, “No, here,” and when they said no, she still offered them seats at the sushi bar. The way we were treated in that moment made it painfully clear that not everyone gets the same service here. When I asked to speak to the manager, the server said she was the manager, and the conversation went downhill FAST. No accountability, no apology, just, “Why are you trying to get me in trouble?” I’m really not one to leave bad reviews. I actually love leaving good ones. That’s why this took me a week to write. But I’d be heartbroken if anyone else had an experience like this. After years of coming here for a pre-show meal, we’re officially DONE. The food isn’t great, but it gets the job done. The service, though, made it clear not everyone is treated equally.
