Family run by amazing people, and just amazing food. We have tried lot of places in LB and this is the only one we went back a second time on our trip. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Family owned and ran Baja style restaurant in Los barriles. Get to know the menu and dishes and you will be surprised how good it is and reasonably priced. My home away from home. Don Salvador is the man!

The owner is really a great guy. Traditional Mexican fare and delicious. I don't care for the 5 Tvs with loud pop music.

We are here last night. Charming casual local family place. Great food. I had shrimp enchiladas. Passenger had chicken papas rellenos. They were very kind and understanding l when I spilled my Jamaica all over the floor. Oops. We come to town occasionally and this has been added to our list of go-to places to eat.

We ate at all the restaurants in Los Barriles. But THIS was the only restaurant we just HAD TO go back for a second meal before our vacation was over. We couldn't help but compare every other meal to this one all week, and Pelapapitas always won, hands-down. The vibe is authentic and clean, nice bathrooms, quick service, and the food was so flavorful and delicious! Fresh veggies, homemade sauces. Great location. You will be glad you came. OMG! I had the best meal of my life here! I ordered the shrimp diablo plate. I had to wait awhile because all is done from scratch. This place is not crowded and I have no idea why because the food is off the chart! The price is more than reasonable and the service very good. The spices and the flavor of my meal left my taste buds wanting more! But the portions were plenty to the point I could hold no more! I will be back time and time again. Gracias!

We ordered an arrachera Super Burro & it was a huge portion, enough for 2 & very generous - absolutely delicious. We also had chicken enchiladas with corn tortillas (3 enchiladas) with green sauce - delicious cream sauce, beans (like a bean sauce), and a small half upside down cup of rice. Delicious but not oversized portion. They have a fabulous condiment bar for your food.

Amazing food! Lots of seafood options as well as authentic Mexican dishes. It is a very comfortable atmosphere, tucked away just on the Main Street. The kitchen is open to the restaurant which always cool to watch. They have a small team of people, but even on a busy evening the service was friendly & fast.

Hidden Gem!! Came here for the first time, beautiful place, great servers and staff. We sat close to where the food comes from the kitchen and everything looked amazing and meals were huge!! All our groups meals were huge and delicious.. going to have to go back several more times to try some things I saw coming out of the kitchen. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the size. Wine, couple beers and two meals 600 pesos with tip. Between the four at our table, only one person could finish their entire meal, everyone else took some home!

Amazing! The Gobernador was the best thing yet. Definitely try it. Cocktails are made to provide buzz, not mixology. That was fine for us in this instance 😆 The Ceviche was excellent. So were their salsas! It was busy. I guess folks like it! We'd try it again.

Definitely the best food in Los Barriles! We spent about 4 days in Los Barriles and try a few places and this one was our favorite. They have good food and the best prices in town (way better than Bean & Rice, to be honest). We got the Tacos Gobernador and Papa Rellena, the tacos came with and amazing green salad with grapes and strawberries and a good dressing. Our bill was less than 900 pesos, this included food for 4 people and drinks, including a Guacamole as an appetizer and this one was the best one I have ever tried at a restaurant! Our Server was really nice and sweet too. We definitely recommend this place and would come back when ever we visit Los Barriles again.

I love this little gem of a restaurant/ bar. It's right on the water. They make great drinks and have a sizeable menu. I've yet to have a bad meal or experience here. The bartenders are awesome and super friendly. Eating good food with a nice cold drink All while sitting on the beach watching dolphins jumping out of the water is an experience that everyone should do. They also have live music on some days and it's always great. All in all,you cannot go wrong here. 5/5

We’ve tried SO many restaurants in LB and this is ranked at the top of our list!! I ordered chicken fajitas and it was perfectly tender, flavor and seasoning was unique and delicious, and the portion was very generous. Will definitely be coming back. I can’t even remember the last time I left a review, but this place was so good I had to.

Very good authentic Mexican taqueria! Staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is so tasty! We went there when we first arrived in town, and went back the next day! We had their tacos, which you can assort with a variety of salsas and condiments from the fresh bar, and we had their ground beef tacos for a snack which was a hefty portion. They have a daily catch that they serve a la plancha (grilled and served on a plate) and all the Mexican fares.

Los tacos de Pelapapitas están muy ricos, la verdad. El servicio es muy amable y cálido, se siente la buena vibra del lugar. Lo único que podría mejorar un poco es la ambientación. Para preparar la comida tienes que levantarte y caminar hasta el otro lado del restaurante, lo cual puede ser algo incómodo. Además, el área de los baños y los ventiladores podrían tener un mejor mantenimiento o distribución. Fuera de eso, la experiencia fue buena y la comida definitivamente vale la pena.

Lugar pequeño pero agradable, el servicio es un poco lento pero muy rico, está lleno de americanos escandalosos pero en general Los Barriles está repleto de Americanos y ellos se caracterizan por hacer mucho ruido. La papa rellena es deliciosa, de las mejores que he probado ($80 MXN) los tacos cuestan $25 MXN, hay una quesadilla que cuesta $100 MXN pero está enorme (20 CM aproximadamente).

Great food & staff - prices are fair as the meals are huge! Accepts credit card!! Late 2025 update, portions seem to be getting smaller and service not as good. Still decent, but just stopped doing the small things like noticing your beer is empty and asking if you'd like another.

Looks like your basic Mexican open air taco joint - but the wood smoke smell coming from the kitchen lets you know how tasty the meat is going to be. They have a self-serve salsa and toppings bar which I always enjoy. The downside was the server did not understand my order for some reason (I speak fluent Spanish) and brought us the wrong drinks and then forgot another drink order so it finally arrived once I was almost done eating. I don't really expect perfect service at these sorts of places though. Just be patient especially if it's busy.

Medium sized covered outdoor space with a variety of table party sizes. The fish ceviche was okay, the proportions was large enough for four people. The fajitas were excellent with fresh made tortillas.

Shrimp superburro was 85% mayonnaise and lettuce. The shrimp wasn’t enough to fill two tacos. Al pastor meat was so-so.

Our group really hoped the place was as good as the reviews. Sadly, NO. Drinks were slow and inconsistently made for our table. Meals came out sporadically to various tables all over the restaurant with waiters not knowing where to deliver. No point in reviewing food. Owner and staff were very nice and apologetic as they told us there were language issues and staffing shortages. Just too bad.

Service was extremely slow! It looks like one poor lady was the chef for the entire restaurant which seated about 40, it was hard to get mad at her cuz Grandma was doing her thing. The food was decent but not amazing and the service was really the downer here just had to wait a long time to even get drinks or chips seems like the servers were confused on who was handling what table or maybe they were just really short-handed but I don't think so

Service is ok. We ordered appies for a table of 8 but not given share plates or cutlery. Never had offers for more drinks. To be fair it was a quiet Tuesday and there wasn't a lot of energy. They could very easily add a Bluetooth speaker for some music, there wasn't much atmosphere. We were pretty disappointed. They offer a 'crackling' appy which is just floured & deep fried fish or shrimp. It's a little weird that fish is one price, shrimp is a different price but a mixed order is significantly higher. We ordered the mixed just for the convenience, but didn't find any shrimp in the order.... Not worth complaining to the staff about, we ate it happily. Overall, we probably wouldn't go back, but there were more locals than gringos, so that's a good sign. There must be some hidden gems on the menu. Unfortunately, we didn't find them.

There was a terrible band playing (loudly) directly behind us, which made for an unpleasant experience. The food was mediocre.

The tuna sashimi was the worst I’ve ever had. We took one bite and could not eat the rest. They would not take it off the bill. Margaritas were fair. Guacamole was very good.

Not great service mediocre food. Everything is heavily cooked in mantiquilla as the only flavour, and they did not let us know the salsa bar was self serve.

La comida muy rica me espere casi una hora en que me sirvieran mis alimentos pedí un molcajete donde la presentación es en asada o a la plancha y me llevaron un caldo, por lo que pague fue muy poco aparte estaba hirviendo te imaginas esperar a que se enfríe ese caldo oara comer o quemarte muy orrible nl hay asientos para niños, el baño no tiene luz, no hay estacionamiento, cero no vuelvo a regresar

No vale la pena ir, la comida sin sabor, la persona que atiende el lugar ni nos hizo caso, tuvimos que pararnos nosotros a la cocina a ordenar y a tomar nuestras bebida, tardaron como 15 en traernos la cuenta y otro poco en ir a buscar cambio.
