Huacas Restaurant Lote EE90 Reviews
We ate at Huecas multiple times during our stay at the connected hotel, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in Nosara. The food was inventive, local, and incredibly fresh every time – you can really tell how much care goes into the menu. The entire staff was wonderful and added a lot to the experience, especially Daniel, and bartenders Warren and Gary, who made us feel welcome every time we sat down. The chef was also very warm and welcoming, which gave the whole place a personal, relaxed feel. Highly recommend visiting Huecas while you’re in Nosara – it’s absolutely worth making a stop (or a few).
Incredible beautiful restaurant with super talented creative chef. Amazing staff. To top all that, even better food. Risotto; tuna tartare (coyote chicharron); ceviche, tongue molotes all were incredible. Make reservations in advance
A short drive from the center of Nosara is this gem of a restaurant. The view is without equal and the food is most memorable. The chef Paulo Valerios explained every dish on the tasting menu and his passion for cooking with local ingredients is not to be missed. Definitely give it a try. You'll thank me later.
Our group was able to reserve a booking for 8 to enjoy the tasting menu during sunset. The food, service and views were all phenomenal. Unbelievable experience. Muchas Gracias Chef Pablo!
Went there for breakfast. The food was really good at reasonable prices. Main reason for coming was the view, and we were not disappointed. Definitely an attraction you should check out if your in the area
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and our final night of vacation here. Both evenings were awesome. The service is fantastic highly recommend the Tamal! I will also be dreaming about the mezcal martini until I’m able to come back and get another.
Amazing restaurant with an incredible view! Food was fantastic. Unique flavors, beautiful presentation, and fair pricing. Our server, Danny, was great and coursed the meal out for us perfectly! Best place I’ve been in Nosara. To keep the atmosphere so amazing, they don’t allow children or pets which is such a great policy - I wish more restaurants did that! Highly recommend!!!
I went for the Valentines Day Dinner and it was great. I loved the ceviche! The service and staff were great! Definitely a recommended place to try some fresh and local ingredients and celebrate something special.
I had the tasting menu here so I could try more things because everything sounded amazing and so glad I did. The idea is modern Costa Rican food and the chef took great care to explain the history of the dishes and ingredients. Best meal. Thank you!
A really beautiful restaurant with breathtaking view over the sea. The food is really good and the staff is very nice and outgoing. We tried different plates and they were all good. Would strongly recommend
An amazing location with amazing staff and the best food in Nosara. We did the tasting menu and the passionate chef visited us with each course. We loved the food and learned a lot as well. The cocktails were also extraordinary. A must do place.
Stunning view, outstanding food and service. This should be a must visit while in Nosara.
Everyone needs to try the tasting menu here. Been around the world and this is definitely the most unique. The chef presents all 8 courses and has a tie to traditional tico dishes. The view is magnificent of the beach and surrounding jungle area.
Hands down the best food we had in Nosara. The Smoked Cashew Cheese is one of the best things I've ever tried! The view from this restaurant is gorgeous, great place to spend an afternoon sipping cocktails! No question, our favourite spot in Nosara! A must visit!
Our group of seven did a private dinner where the chef made tradional dishes with a modern flair and we all loved it.
Wonderful restaurant, great cocktails and delicious food, but most of all, the staff and atmosphere are magnificent. Highly recommend! Later edit: to experience the most amazing desert known to man, order Doña Jenny
This place is great with amazing views. Really good food menu. It’s part of a hotel but anyone can eat at the restaurant. Highly recommend. Staff is really nice and friendly.
Beautifully crafted food with an incredible view. This restaurant is attached to a very upscale hotel, and you feel like you’re cared for the moment you drive through the gate. The fried chicken dish in sauce is unlike anything I’ve ever had, it’s a must try. It was so good I actually went back again for taco night. The chicken tinga taco was my fav, the pork taco a close second. @breleeyoga
Wonderful fresh meal, met expectations, and the view was incredible. Portions may not be big but they are nourishing and satisfying, a detail often overlooked. Less busy than some other places closer to the beach, which we prefer. Take your time, you won’t feel rushed here.
Can’t beat the views! Tonight was an incredible experience. We were fortunate to bring the entire family and celebrate some independence (7/04/23)! Food, drinks, ambiance…everything was great. Was cool to meet Steve, the owner. Really nice guy. Look forward to coming again someday!
Food was great but a little too much salt for our taste
Best meal in Nosara! We had the most gorgeous meal here last Friday for my Mum’s birthday. Our waiter, Andrès was absolutely amazing. The food and vibe was so sophisticated and chic. I would highly recommend it.
We hosted our daughter’s 5th Birthday there and it was such a wonderful experience! The service was incredible, the pizza’s were warm and delicious. It’s such a great open spot for brunch, meetups, and also very kid friendly. I really enjoy their breakfast menu too! Great lattes and French Toast!! I also noticed they have pre- made salads to go. All around great addition to the neighborhood.
Okay you have to come here! The vistas are absolutely stunning, the restaurant is magical and the Benedict is the best I’ve ever had. Gary provided wonderful service and Sanchez the dog with his underbite is the cutest. Don’t miss out!
Such a beautiful restaurant! We made reservations to watch the sunset. It was incredible in the lounge chairs overlooking the jungle and ocean with cocktails in hand, hearing the howler monkeys and watching the sun set. The food was amazing, the cocktails were fantastic, and the service was good too. It's off the beaten path, but our tuk tuk driver had no issues navigating up the mountain.
Third time in Nosara & I must say: WOW. Incredible service, QUALITY of food is HIGH & the view is stunning. Arguably my favorite spot in Nosara. Stop looking, book a reservation now.
We came here twice during our visit and loved both meals. Highly recommend brunch in particular! We will miss the “owner of the place” - a sweet bulldog named Sanchez.
Luxurious dining with romantic atmosphere and breath-taking views. You can see a section of the sea and a beautiful bay down the jungle-clad hills. It’s a bit of a drive up windy roads to get to, but totally worth it! Note, this is a hotel restaurant, so it is best to make arrangements ahead of time so that the guard at the gate knows you are coming. (They also have a good moctail menu in addition to alcoholic options.)
Phenomenal food! Also the best service we had during our visit to Nosara all thanks to Daniel We had the Tamal and the Gnocchi Both were incredible with phenomenal flavors
Don't let the uphill road scare you because the view you get from the top is one of a kind. The restaurant has it all, great food (big portion) and incredible service.
The food here is excellent! We stayed at the hotel and had most of our meals here because of how good it was not just the convenience. The mahi mahi, the Sanchez, the ceviche, breakfast burrito, Pau's pops were some of the standouts. Also the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food that is served. The drinks are great as well. Laid back vibes and amazing view.
Huacas is my go to when I want to have a relaxing, delicious meal, with inredible service, and a stellar view. I spend my birthdays and anniversaries here, because they make sure that everything is special. I've never had a bad meal here, and they go out of their way to make sure that you're looked after, and have an amazing experience. I especially love that they're ages 15 and over, so there's no children running around while you're enjoying everything. (I have children of my own, but for a night out, it's great to get away from all kids, and just enjoy the ambiance.) We always go for sunset and cocktails (which are consitently mixed well) and then a fresh, locally-inspired dinner.
Food was exquisite! Nice views. We loved our waiter Jose— he gave us the best service we’ve received in all of Costa Rica! 10 stars
Everything was 10 out of 10 - the chef and his team are so passionate about local food, and they treat their ingredients with great respect! One of the best degustations I’ve ever had, and the sunset views were spectacular. Can’t wait to come back.
We stayed in the hotel and had couple of meals there, it is maybe the best restaurant in the area. Combination of super nice and friendly stuff, delicious food and breathtaking view. Highly recommend!
One of our favorite restaurants / experiences of our trip to Nosara. Highly recommend trying the tasting menu. The chef tells you about each dish, what inspired him, and it was fun learning about the culture of the cuisine. The view is amazing too
Only came for drinks. Warner is the most comforting bartender I’ve encountered. My wife had 3 gin violet drinks which were amazing, his portions are spot on. I had 3 mezcal drinks, 1 of the celery based one and 2 of the spicy one which were amazing. Despite the language barrier we were able to have amazing conversations. Thank you Warner for an amazing drinking experience.
Unique dining experience in Nosara. Every plate was a delight and we were able to try very unique products or flavor combinations that are hard to come by outside of the region. Supports local story and clear efforts of creativity by the chef. Excellent price to quality, contrary to many places around. Highly recommend for everyone to spend at least one sunset (try the cocktails) + evening here while staying in the area.
Everything about this restaurant was perfect. A must do if you’re in Nosara. We arrived begore the sunset, it is the best moment, with the view. The cocktails and the food were delicious. A special note for the amazing ‘tartar’ and the gnocchi. We really enjoyed our night. On Thursdays there is a live band. Even better!
Best meal in Nosara, fine cuisine with incorporation of local and traditional elements in a contemporary style. The dining room overlooks the jungle and beach. Excellent experience!
Outstanding. If you enjoy fine dining, the tasting menu is an experience not to be missed. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. The Chef took the time to describe each dish to us, what his inspiration was and how it related to traditional Costa Rican cuisine. This was a meal I will remember for years to come.
We had a lovely, early New Year’s Eve dinner at Huacas last night. We loved everything about the restaurant: the service, the cocktails, the beautiful location and of course the delicious menu. It was a lovely family evening. I met the owner on the way out and he seems like a nice man; his restaurant does him credit, as does his staff. We will be back!
Tasting menu was amazing. The chef came out and explained each course - the local ingredients and dishes that inspired it. Would highly recommend. Definitely arrive while it's still light out to enjoy the views of the ocean from the property.
What a great dining experience! The setting is beautiful and the service is attentive, but not interruptive. The chef certainly has skill paired with creativity. While the entrees are on-point, the real magic is the appetizers and desserts. I’m still trying to decide an amazing desert that was a pecorino cream cannoli topped with salted dulce de leche ice cream. Thanks for a great night out with high-end experience all-around!
We had a lovely dinner at Huacas. Original local cuisine in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views and delicious pre dinner cocktails. Good if expensive wine list. Very welcoming, charming staff. Definitely recommended.
We went hoping to see the sunset, but did not realize that the sun sets behind the trees and is not actually visible. The view itself is still beautiful, but don’t expect a direct sunset view if that is what you are looking for. The service was amazing, very personalized, attentive, and thoughtful. The staff made us feel very well taken care of. The food was good, but for our taste, we have had better meals at other restaurants in the Nosara/Guiones area. Overall, a nice experience, especially for the excellent service.
This place is known for its views, but since we booked dinner at 7 PM—after sunset—we didn’t get to experience them. That wasn’t an issue for us, as our hotel had stunning cliffside views, so we were able to focus entirely on the food. Unfortunately, I found the meal very underwhelming. I didn’t enjoy the flavors of anything we ordered, except for one of their mocktails. While our waiter was very nice and helpful, the overall taste just wasn’t there. I wouldn’t recommend dining here.
We had the Tiradito to start. The sauce was overpowering, not much more to say about this dish. Then we shared 3 mains among two people, the paella, the Tamal, and the Gnocchi de Tacao. The Tamal was decent, with the pork very nicely cooked, cripsy and tender at the same time. The skirt steak of the Gnocchi de Tacao was very well cooked but lacked some salt. The main reason for the 2 stars is the Paella. The corn rice texture was non existent and in combination with the chicken was very bland. The seafood cooking was horrific with the shrimp having an almost rubbery texture and the muscles smelling a bit fishy. The staff were very polite but the food did take over 1 hour to arrive. Overall the restaurant left a lot to be desired based on the previous reviews and price point.
Terrible lobster made my wife vomit as well as 1 friend. Deep fried lobster was awful and a mistake to eat. Snapper was 5 burnt tiny morsels. 1 of the worst dinners ever. Total rip off in price. Anniversary ruined.
It was my favorite place in Nosara, but we went today a group of 16 persons, we made a reservation in advance... it took more than 1:30 hour to have the food ready, everyone was starving... they came with wrong plates, they offered a discount because they were sorry for wait time and when we were paying they said no discount were allowed by their management, that only for the wrong dishes ( even thought everyone had to wait that long).... Also the beef gallos were very greasy
