Food is good but they don’t have much of options and I feel like it’s a little outdated.

I’ve been going to downtown buffet since 2010 and it’s giving me the opportunity to talk about both of the pros and cons about this restaurant. Starting off with all the good things to say, the service here is pretty good. The waiter/waitress is very attentive, and is more than willing to refill your drinks, and take away any dirty dishes that you may have after eating some food over there. Another thing to mention to is that the food, though relatively limited, is always fresh seeing that it’s being swapped out so, on the weekends, especially, you can expect the food to be fresh because of the amount of food that people take. The atmosphere is also pleasing for the most part. Even though it’s starting to show its age after being around for nearly 2 decades, it’s a small, cozy atmosphere, and it stays relatively cool as well which is an added benefit during the hot summer days in Madera. With all this being said however, the system to say that the buffet is perfect as it does have certain flaws that you will want to take into consideration before going. I want to start off by mentioning the price which has gone up dramatically ever since Covid. On weekdays, a table for one is going to set you back almost $20 though it is excusable since you’re able to eat all you can, not to mention the free refills. However, the price tends to go up quite a bit, especially during holidays and weekends, which means foods going to be a lot more expensive. For example, by the time I’m making this review, I had recently went there with, my little brother and we paid almost $50 just for the two of us so I strongly advise anyone that plans on going there to try and at least go during the weekends. It’s also important for me to mention that it is so much cheaper when you go during lunch hours, specifically around 11:49 PM, which is usually the time the buffet opens. The only other downside of that I could really mention is the quality of the food. I did mention earlier that the food is always fresh, but it’s not exactly the best there is. In short, downtown buffet has the added benefits of fresh food, decent customer service, and a pleasant atmosphere. However, one must take into consideration, the price and even the quality of the food. Nevertheless, if you’re someone who lives in Madera, or is stopping by and so happen to run into the buffet and doesn’t want to drive all the way to Fresno to Golden Harbor, downtown, but that isn’t all that bad.

Plethora of options for a quick pit stop, great if you have kids, some veg options — it’s a regular buffet so no vegan meat substitutes and stuff like that. For kids lots of fruits, cookies, desserts, even ice cream! Staff is very friendly and nice! $21.99 per adult and $12.99-14.99 per kid depending on age. I didn’t eat here because I was full but people from our group didn’t complain and kids were happy, I just wanted to point that they have decent vegetarian/vegan options if you need to eat.

Took my grandson who is a picky eater but loves seafood. This way we all got what we wanted and l got to see he ate well.There really isn't good service but for buffet style you don't need it. The cashier had little personality.

Asian buffet it has typical foods. The fish is good.Service can use an up grade! Guy in front can be friendly not sure if can smile. :) drinks are extra not sure if refills available no service! Oh and the deserts tasteless. .

So i got some good shots of the place including the back parking lot. Which right off the bat i need to say is the best option, as thier is only on street parking on the front entrance side, with allot of traffic. So lets get to it. I came in for late lunch. They had the usual main options noodles and rice, broccoli beef, fried shrimp. Some non asian options as well. All the food i had was fresh and tasty. I recommend the crab cakes on the shell, which were made with real crab meat. I was however disappointed that they did not have sushi under the sign that said sushi. The place is clean, the employees attentive but not super friendly. Here's the real skinny. I would come here again, for lunch or a quick bite. I don't think it will make it on my favourites list though. Again look for parking in the back as its the best bet, i provided pics to help you find your way. So all in all, i give them 👍👍👍

Not the greatest food or service. We'll the host was very annoyed but the waiter who brought our drinks was super nice. The food was very low quality. Some of the food was old and stale. The vibe is very chill, but tbf there wasnt many people there. I would rather go eat Chinese food at lui's village. Can eat better tasting food for less. The price at this buffet is around 24$ per person with drink during lunch hour(12pm.) The parking lot is behind the buffet. P.S. the waiter being so nice gave ya a whole star⭐️.

Food is pretty good. Service is HORRIBLE! Front service guy spend 30 minutes trying to cave into his nose( apparently he wasnt able to catch what was inside his nostrils). Bathrooms are filthy. There is an unfair 10% extra charge for a party of 6 and over. Food is good though i really hope the kitchen has better maintainance.
